Must the President do or demand what the citizenry should have demanded that the crooked, self-confessed and corrupt judge resing? Is this not what Nigerians should be demanding even before the president stepped in.

Nigerians totally ignored the lawless act committed by the disgraced CJ against them and their constitution, but they are going out of their way to kill the President for doing what they should have done.

Where is the sense and wisdom in allowing such corrupt, lawless and a lawbreaking character with unexplained millions of undeclared dollars in almost a dozen bank accounts remain in office?

We are so desensitized and used to corruption that it doesn't bother us, we even ignore corrupt public officials and instead fight and go after the people we actually pay to fight corruption.

If this is how we truly feel about corruption and criminal acts, then maybe we should just abolish all our law enforcement agencies and save the billions we budget on their behalf every year.
It's for those reasons that there are laws in the land,no matter how strong or right we may feel about out our sentiments if they are not recognize by law then we just have to keep them within us for the law to be effective n the goodness of the larger society, there is no law that says one who is accuse must resign if this were to be the case danladi should not be sitting on the panel of the CCT, now it's emerging that the so call ex parte order given by the CCT is neither genuine nor legal, something tells me osibanjo was sidelined in this dubious n dangerous plot by the cabal in the presidency thus laying credence to the suspicion of the pursuit of a hidden agenda,no one is saying onoghen should not be tried but simply let the law n it's process be duely followed,all true patroits should say no to what buhari has done.

A young lady who claims to be 23 years old, has taken to social media to reveal her displeasure following her conversation with a 35-year-old admirer who wooed her on Facebook.

The lady identified as Daniela Umebuani, shared her chats with the man online which show how he tried to win her as she berated him for insulting her and her mom after she rejected him.

The lady who said the man is too old for her - told him to get out of her sight after telling him to take his experience to his age range.

This angered the man who in return hurled insults at her and even her mother.

Internet users have reacted to the post, with most blaming the lady for being at fault and too harsh on the "old" man.

They said there are various ways she would have politely declined advances from the man without being rude.

See her conversation with the man below.

Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has reacted to the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Mohammed, in a media chat on Saturday, explained that from reading the President's statement on the suspension yesterday, Certain things were clear adding that the Chief Justice failed to declare 'millions of dollars in his possession' adding that the President suspended Onnoghen on the orders of a court of competent Jurisdiction.

PoliticsNGR has the footage. Watch HERE

https://politicsngr.com/watch-lai-mohammeds-reaction-cjn-onnoghens-suspension/
Does the CCT has the constitutional powers to order the president to suspend the CJ considering the same constitutional provision for removal of the CJ?,if the issue or standard is for any official been accuse to step down then why hasn't danladi himself steppwd down?,the law may not be perfect but it has to respected for the society to be orderly, buhari's position today is itself a product of law,those who are cheering buhari on should think twice, buhari could have investigated the CJ then forward the findings to the NJC n requested them to discipline him,he could have used even used the media as he has always done to exert pressure on the NJC.Now buhari can as well order the securities to ransack the NASS n people like lai,sagay,Tsav,keyamo etc will still hail him not minding the implications of such actions.
Those who have left the substance of the matter, which is non-declaration of assets, to embark on a wild goose chase must know that they are part of the problems of this country.
Those cheering the CJN have been busy trying to depict the issue as executive interference in another arm of government.
They are failing to realise an important fact that those who have the privilege of holding exalted offices in trust for the rest of Nigerians should lead by example.

It was speculative for some commentators to think that the CJN was being targeted so that he could be removed and replaced with someone who will work in the interest of the government in the February elections.
The most important question should be whether the CJN broke the law or not in failing to declare his assets.

One major and incontrovertible fact which has emerged from the controversy over the CJN’s alleged failure to declare his assets is his own reported admission that he made a mistake by forgetting to declare a number of his assets.
The number one judicial officer is also reported to have expressed ignorance about the time space within which he should have made the declaration.”

We are not talking of a magistrate or a high court judge but a judge of the Supreme Court, who happens to be the number one judicial officer of the land; we must forget sentiments and look at facts.”

The posturing of some South-South governors in defence of the CJN should be treated as treason since they swore to protect and preserve the constitution.

There was a country!
If onoghen broke the law then let the law follow it's course n not resulting to illegalities,the law may be slow,tedious n sometimes annoying but it has to be respected and if necessary reworked for a better society,what buhari has done is very dangerous n it's implications is unpredictable.

Our democracy is not in chaos. Corrupt and crooked politicians and judges are ones whose lives are in chaos. Onnoghen is a crook who has soiled his hands, he doesn’t deserve to continue in office. A crooked and partisan CJN is inimical to natural justice and fairness.

It is also important to note that the president suspended him based on a valid order of the CCT. If Onnoghen is not happy with the ruling of the CCT, he should simply appeal the ruling at the court of appeal. Till then, he remain suspended.
just listen to yourself,the same appeal court you are referring to gave a valid order stopping the CCT from continuing with the trial,the CCT has no legal authority by constitutional provision to give such directives or advice to the president,the chairman of the CCT himself has a corruption case against him,why hasn't buhari suspended him since?,you may think this is a joke n you are immuned but just pray ok,the law with all her imperfections is not made to suit just anyone or situation but to create orderliness n standards for an organized society,those of you cheering buhari on should remember a tommorow.

PoliticsRe: What The Law stipulates On The Removal Of the CJN by PoliticsNGR.com by Deepthoughts: 9:04pm On Jan 25, 2019
stephanie11:
@POLITICSNGR

The suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Nkanu Onnoghen has elicited a lot of reactions from Nigerians today with many contesting that it was against the law and some others saying otherwise.

PoliticsNGR has now gone into the law books to examine what the constitution stipulates on the Removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria. Surprisingly, the Law make no clear distinction between the removal and Suspension of the CJN as both terms have very different meanings.

We gathered that Section (292) of the Nigerian constitution expantiates on the removal of certain public officials including the CJN. However, there is no distinction between a suspension and permanent removal.

It States;

“A judicial officer shall not be removed from his office or appointment before his age of retirement except in the following circumstances;

(a) in the case of –

"Chief Justice of Nigeria, President of the Court of Appeal, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and President, Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the President acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate.”

(ii) Chief Judge of a State, Grand Kadi of a Sharia Court of Appeal or President of a Customary Court of Appeal of a State, by the Governor acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the House of Assembly of the State,

Praying that he be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct;

(b) in any case, other than those to which paragraph (a) of this subsection applies, by the President or, as the case may be, the Governor acting on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council that the judicial officer be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct."

Thus, a serving Chief Justice of Nigeria can only be removed from office by the president after at least two-thirds majority members of the Senate declare support for the move, but in this case, it is a suspension.

https://politicsngr.com/law-stipulates-removal-chief-justice-nigeria/
The law is very clear, infact it made an emphasis by stating that ""except" followed by listing the conditions of which suspension is never included,what buhari has done is a clear act of illegality propelled by tyranny n pursuit of a hidden agenda.

The state chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara state, Hon. Awali Liman Kaura, has expressed his joy and satisfaction over the victory of the faction of the party in the court.

Addressing newsmen at the Government House in Gusau, the Chairman stated that the victory was a victory for democracy and the party in general since the party won’t be losing out from contesting the general elections in 2019.

He said that now that the serious legal battle was over, the party would settle down to map out strategies on how to take back the state that belongs to the party.

According to him, there was no doubt that there are tough time ahead considering the friction in the party, noting that the dust was beginning to settle down.

He however denied that there were cracks on the walls of the party in the state.

The chairman appealed to all the aggrieved members to sheath their swords and work together to ensure perfect victory for the party in the general elections.

It's now that some of us will know whether the Southerners in this country with all their acclaimed education, sophistication n enlightenment are second class coward n selfish citizens or not.what buhari has done is not only a slap but a spot on the face of all sane Nigerians,the law is the law no matter it inadiquacies,the act establishing the CCB makes it clear that where a person admits a mistake in assets declaration such a person should not be referred to the CCT but be invited for further clarificatios,the chairman of the CCT danladi Umar himself has a corruption case against him for long but buhari has not suspended him for pursuit of this kind of agenda,the appeal court has just ordered the suspension of the CCT trial pending it's judgement within a few days,if not for the pursuit of a hidden agenda why the hurry n clear desperation to get rid of onoghen when it is clear that buhari's action is unconstitutional,from buhari's speech before swearing in tanko, buhari implied that it's only when the outcome of a judicial process favours his desire that Justice is done irrespective of available evidence n procedures of litigation,sagay,bakare n falana's views on this matter will be interesting,but I bet anyone while the northern lawyers n school of thought will turn logic on it's head to justify buhari's clear illegality the Southerners will be chewing their tongues, anyone who denies that there is no hidden agenda been pursued by buhari is either a pretensive but known beneficiary of such agenda or a complete fool.

The fact that the room was locked and in order means the killer had access to his room, his drink and also someone who knows how to carefully arrange the room pretty neatly,

hence our suspect is a hotel staff!!

check the cctv to see if he walked into the hotel with a briefcase that looks like it'd contain cash.
If he did, then start arrests immediately, from the hotel manager to the gateman
Again,if the keys were not in the keyhole from the inside when the door was locked,then it means someone entered the room, carried out the murder,arranged the scene then exited n lock the room from out using a spare key.
PoliticsRe: Labaran Maku The Most Popular Candidate In Nasarawa (Photos) by Deepthoughts: 12:51pm On Jan 24, 2019
SoupEmbassy:
Labaran Maku once again showed that he is still the most popular candidate among the three major contestants in the forth coming election. Here are pictures from yesterdays flag off in Lafia.

Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has again joined the Nasarawa State governorship race despite loosing to the incumbent Governor Almakura (APC) in 2015. Maku on the other hand assert that he won the election in 8 Local Governments, but it was manipulated in favour of Almakura by desperate influences.

Maku, who is the National Secretary of APGA, left the PDP where he served as commissioner, deputy governor and Minister to join APGA when he was rigged out of the primaries in favour of the least of all aspirants on ethnic and religious grounds. Maku ended in second place beating the PDP candidate with a very wide margin in the state during the 2015 general election. It is belived that it is his results that was swapped for Almakura.

Maku notwithstanding the outright robbery of his mandate in the polls and the tribunal is in the race again for 2019 and so far is the most popular candidate among the top three A.A. Sule (APC) David Ombugadu (PDP) and Labaran Maku (APGA)). Commentators are of the view that he may find it difficult to win because he is contesting in a political party that is not popular within the region. However, the wide support he is getting across the state shows otherwise.

Nasarawa is also known to be a very politically conscious state and looking at past trends where former Governor Doma was voted out in favour of Almakura in an unpopular party (CPC) despite being an incumbent in the ruling party while the same election returned a dominantly PDP House of Assembly shows that the vote was per candidate not party.

Random polls both online and offline shows Maku leading and closely followed by A.A. Sule. The PDP candidate is last of the three usually with about 20-25% of the votes. For Maku to win with a good margin, he will need to go into a coalition with the PDP to avoid the Osun kind of scenario.

Maku have a better chance because the APC candidate A.A. Sule is not widely accepted because he was imposed by the Governor. What might help him will be the ethnic and religion politics that has engulf Nigeria and the Northern states. His rejection is connected to the fact that he is originally from Bauchi state and not Nasarawa state. So far his marketers are trying so hard to convince the Mada people that he is their brother lol.

See pictures of his supporters in the rally as shared on his Twitter account >>> https://twitter.com/RealLabaranMaku/
One of the biggest mistakes Johnathan made was to listen to the stupid argument that only a Muslim could get victory for pdp in Adamawa n Nasarawa states n consequently denied James Ngilari n Mr labaran maku gubernatorial tickets respectively,the story would certainly have been different today.

Nijanija:
Hello guys ,please I need an advice on how to deal with the above headlines .........so it is about my lady and I . We have been into a relationship for the past 6 months. Fast forward ;

I got to find out in the early part of our relationship that she use to have a long discussion on the phone with someone I do not know, each time I try to call her on phone. So I was forced to ask her if she has a man she's been friends with, she confessed to me that they have been dating for over 8 years and the relationships once hit the rocks due to the fact that the man refused to go see her parents.

So later in the month of January, she told me the man will be coming home to bury his mum along side her siblings. So the week she was to go meet the man in Lagos which was her usual practice each time he's coming home, we had a quarrel about her meeting with the man after she promised me it was over between them. So we ended up settling our differences and I agreed to let her go see the man.

Since over two weeks my lady has been with the man despite the man's wife threats to leave her husband alone. She is still with the man.

I want to know if such relationship is healthy for me . As I'm losing patient and focus to daily activities (She is stubborn and won't admit her fault)
You are a real character, don't worry when you see death coming wait there and make a thread on nairaland asking for advice to whether to stay or find levels ok.

@POLITICSNGR

President Muhammadu Buhari Friday in Abuja appealed for accommodation and tolerance among cattle herders and farmers throughout the country.

Speaking at the State House when he received the leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association on Nigeria, MACBAN, on a courtesy visit, the President appealed for calm among all citizens, saying that his government will give equal respect to all citizens irrespective of their ethnic, religious and geopolitical backgrounds.

According to President Buhari, “I appeal to all farmers and herders for restraint, mutual respect and tolerance for one another as people destined to live together in this great country. I appeal for patience and understanding as the administration works towards lasting solutions to these conflicts.”

He also urged the herders to support him in the task of bringing lasting peace to the country.

The President called on state governors to work with the Minister of Agriculture, who he said, had been mandated to work out a solution with the states by which herders will have access to water for their livestock, and farmers will have security against destruction of their farmlands.

President Buhari attributed part of the conflict between the two groups to the climate change phenomenon and population explosion, but regretted that its politicization by selfish individuals who did not mean well for the country did not also help matters.

He emphasized that this conflict was neither religious nor ethnic, but one that his administration has foreseen and warned about.

According to the President, “Before the Benue and Taraba crises, I called the Minister of Agriculture and the Governor of Central Bank and asked them to work with the state governors on rediscovering the gazetted cattle routes, clear of farmlands that had made for peace during the First Republic.”

President Buhari expressed strong confidence that a way around the problem will be found, working with the states which have an important role to play in finding a lasting solution.

“Whatever it will take, I am determined to bring peace between farmers and herders. I urge you all to be patient and exercise restraint while we are working for an enduring solution,” he stressed.

MACBAN, led by Alhaji Mohammed Kiruwa, informed the President that the 20-million strong body had sent the delegation to endorse his bid for a second term of office on account of the administration’s achievements in office which included, the successful clampdown on kidnapping and cattle rustling; and the fight against terrorism and corrupt elements in the society.

Alhaji Kiruwa said President Buhari’s personal qualities of honesty, integrity and his unparalleled commitment to the unity and progress of the nation, also informed his association’s support for a renewal of his tenure.

I can bet with my balls that this is just political gimick,how navigable is the river from the open sea up to Baro?,onitsha port is even more viable n had been constructed to an advance level but for political sentiments buhari will not see it,bythe way how many importers are there up north?,has anyone ever seen any vessel sailing up to Baro?,of course to the Zombies this calls for fanfare but after just 6months the story will take a different turn.

All this preemptive propaganda towards intending fuel price increase will not work, comparing prices without comparing other economic factors!, it's not everyone that is a zombie,Apc/buhari should take note.

You are just a blind hypocrite, when even osibanjo marveled at saraki's boldness you are falsely consoling yourself that fear showed on saraki's face when the dullard could not even face saraki without glasses.
