Carnality rules on Nairaland especially amongst the uninformed Christians parading this forum like a colossus. They complain about the whole essence of Christianity and expect God to intervene in their matter. Anybody, who stays in the House and makes jest of what goes in there is a B.a.s.t.a.r.d and this is without apologies. If you have to complain about Pastors, tithing, offerings, Christian Teachings that have roots in the Bible then Christianity is not for you.
Going by all the fraud being perpetrated by governor Fashola on the gullible and undiscerning folks of Lagos state, I think it's our patriotic duty as nigerians to come to the aid of our fellow citizens of Lagos extraction. We can do this by simply petitioning the EFCC (economic and financial crimes commission) and the ICP (independent and corrupt practices) to look deeper into the Lagos treasury.

We as citizens cannot allow this man called Fashola and his band of gangsters to continue fooling us and taking us for a ride. Can you imagine the mile2/orile rail track that is less than 3km...for every inch of rail laid, they announce to the "world" like kindergarton kids hoping for a candy as reward embarassed. I've already alerted my contact at the ICP headquarters in Abuja and he promised to alert his superiors. My ICP guy even told me that his boss is a Lagosian and knows Fashola is scheming like a typical mobster and they are not fooled by all the propaganda. They're waiting for his term to be over before pouncing on him and his gangs.

Finally, if any nairalander has contact(s) at the EFCC, he/she should alert them with fraudulent evidence littered all over Lagos. This man (Fashola) has destroyed a lot of lives and needs to be stopped.
Ol'boy, why don't you stop sniffing that thing that makes you conjure asinine schemes. Christianity EtcRe: 2013 Prophecies By Pastor E.A. Adeboye by Degis(m): 6:57am On Jan 02, 2013
frond: Like others, I believe you are ignorant of God's prophecy as well. Read the one you quoted "2Ki 7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
2Ki 7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof".
This prophecy was specific and not general one to claim. The prophet said this time tomorrow, very specific, nothing to pray about. Either you like it or not, it would happen. That is what is called prophecy. You don't have to believe prophecy to happen. It is an heresy to believe otherwise. Go through your scriptures and let me know where you have to believe before it happens. In the scripture, bad things happened because people failed to repent, not pray. The above words alleged coming from Pastor Adeboye are prayers not prophecy as he is not a prophet but pastor.
See Bible Illiterates gallivanting and gyrating for the umpteenth time. You think say you don talk abi. Now, check why you don't watch prophesy to happen rather you enforce them to happen by faith and warfare prayers

cold: This is the year of A New Thing
Prophecies for 2012
by Pastor E. A. Adeboye

For Individuals:

1. He said many considered to be absolutely barren will be fruitful.Good

2. He said family histories will be rewritten, including an end to premature death.
Wow!God has spoken
3. He said desperate prayers will get quick reply this year
.Millions are still waiting for answers to their prayers in spite of being faithful with their tithes, seed sowing, financial covenants & breakthrough whatever

4. He said some will experience massive transfer of wealth from the wicked to the just.(Really?)

For Nigeria:

1. God says He has surprises both for His own and for the enemies of the church.(Didn't happen)

2. He said before this year ends, it will be said of Nigeria; all is well that ends well.(Did not happen)

3, He said we are to pray more for prominent Nigerians, so that those who see this year may see the next.(Azazi,Yakowa,Professor Sam Aluko,DIG Haruna John,Levi Ajunouma alongside 162 others,Mathew Mbu...feel free to insert yours here)

International:

1. Daddy says there will be a lot of power transfer grin. From who to whom? From where to where?

2. He said new phenomenon will startle scientists.Hmmmm

3. He said we are to pray against earth quakes of record magnitude, tsunamis of record proportion and massive hurricanes. if we pray they will be subdued.I hear you

4. The civil unrest that started last year, will begin to end this year.Yeah right, cool story

Can someone please tell me which of these prophecies from last year came to pass? These men simply take Nigerians for a ride because they know they can.
When you decide to pick on prophesy for analysis, then you also need to tell us the yardstick for saying some came to pass and others did not. You are limited by your scope and information. I can boldly say that indeed all of the prophecy for 2012 came to pass.

futoprince: If you read your bible, you will know that these are not prophecies and can never be.You don't expect more from Prophets who prosper from the loot of corrupt politicians, since they can not prophesy against their pay masters. That will definitely mean bad business. This is a prophesy from the religious wing of PDP. Each year they come up with just the same lines that the impoverished, traumatized, dejected, abandoned and rejected poor Nigerian masses pray for their ''leaders''. The same looters sorry ''leader'' who have sold their conscience to the devil and continue to perpetuate impunity with reckless abandon. The mutual and symbiotic relationship between the religious leaders and the corrupt political class is a strong indication that they are birds of the same feather and an indictment to their gibberish prophecies. Since the oil boom in Nigeria, it is only the assets of the Pastors and the wealth of the greedy politicians that grow from strength to strength. How come health, education, security, infrastructure, agriculture are all on the decline and the Pastors and their thieving cronies are becoming stupendously wealthy year in year out. It shows clearly who are sharing the loot of the land, and all they tell you is to pray for you leaders. keep on praying all the best to you. If you want prophecies read your bible, the Nigeria Prophets have got no prophesies they are all Papa Deceive Pikin(PDP)

Prophesies in the Bible
Solution to world distress would not come from men: Luke 21:10,11, 2Timothy 3:1-5
God's Kingdom not men will bring an end to injustice, poverty and wickedness: Psalm 72:1&8, Daniel 2:44, Mathew 6:10
Everlasting life assured for Obedient mankind: Titus 1:2, John 10:27,28
Death will be destroyed: 1 Corinthians 15:26, Revelation 21:4, Revelation 20:14, Isaiah 25:8
Is it not surprising that despite your conspiracy theories against these Men of God, your own Opposition Men of God still wallow in the same place year in year out. You had better come off your high horse of poverty, disdain, shame and reproach to believe God, who is the Spirit of the Prophet for the actualisation of the Word of The Lord

davidylan: Vague. What does this mean? In what way will the year be better?
This "prophecy" flies in the face of biblical prophecy.

Already in Proverbs 4:18

Already promised in Ps 107:29

These are generic blessings that are already cataloged in the book of deuteronomy.

this "prophecy" hath neither head nor tail. It is way too vague... for example - if prominent nigerians die, we are accused of not praying enough to avert the calamity, if they dont die we can simply attribute it to our voluminous prayers?

See above. Bilbical prophecies were more direct.

Vague... generic.

Luke 21 from verse 25.

and this is of relevance to the church how?

Soddom and Gomorrah already taught us this.

All due respect to the man of God but what are these? Prophecies or empty flights of fancy?
Prophecies are not for analysis but to be believed for Fufillment. You remind me of the Man described in the Bible who said "even if God opened the windows, how will this things be". Indeed you shall not partake of this blessings when they come to pass.

Maxymilliano: Oyedepo might have felt slighted by the students poor attitude to constituted school authorities but it is wrong for him to have reacted on impulse, the bulk of the blame should stop at his table and he should be bold enough to admit he failed woefully in instilling right and appropriate discipline on the student.

This are teens entrusted to his care, with lots of money down the drain in the name of school fees and if this is what they graduated to be after 4 years of studying under what should be strict moral and ethical codes, then Oyedepo should apologized to the concerned parents and make refunds if possible.
Mr. Preacher, save your breath!. The problem with many sentimental posers is that the Bishop is made to look like a villain, who with precision accuracy is ready to squash any hapless student without recourse to natural justice and etiquette, however lets together check the other side of the coin

1. Were the students aware of the departure service starting at the aforesaid time?

2. Did the School Handbook require that the Departure Service attendance is non negotiable?

3. Those whose exams ended by 5pm on the aforementioned day, Was 2hours, 15 mins not enough for adequate rest and preparation for the departure service?

4. If some Students could jump through the window in a bid to escape this ordeal, is it not an indication that it is a serious offence that it could warrant a dismal?

5. Should the severity of punishment be subject to the mildness of the crime?

6. If you can't do the time then don't do the crime

If you cannot stand the heat then don't stay in the kitchen. Covenant University is an unapologetic mission school. If you can't abide by the rules, don't go there simple!

To the expelled students, you can either appeal to the school authorities for leniency or go to Court to enforce your fundamental rights. Soliciting for sympathy doesn't cut it.

PoliticsRe: Former RCCG Pastor Politisization Of Holy Ghost Congress by Degis(m): 3:39am On Dec 24, 2012
gramci: A former pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Bankole Solomon, has condemned what he described as the politicization of the church's annual Holy Ghost congress.
Pastor Bankole, a lawyer and the Ogun State Secretary of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR), expressed the position on Facebook.
Speaking later to SaharaReporters by telephone, he said his position was aimed at President Goodluck Jonathan's appearance at the congress as a tool for political manipulation of members of the popular church, and Christians at large, but was not an attack on the church and its leadership.
He described Holy Ghost congress as having become“a supermarket where all kinds of people like charlatans and political opportunists come shopping turning God to Father Xmas to give them end-of-year bonus.”
Mr. Solomon said he was very unhappy at the rate at which his famed church voluntarily surrenders its sacred podium to corrupt politicians when pastors working hard in the church are being denied the same access to the podium.
President Goodluck Jonathan, he said, was there“turning our once sacred altar to political podium talking deceitfully&indirectly campaigning for 2015.”
He questioned the basis for that decision, given that Mr. Jonathan is not a pastor.
The lawyer, who said he resigned from the ministry of the RCCG in 2010 for personal reasons, predicted in his post that members of the church would harass and harangue him for coming out clearly to condemn the way the church has been turned to a den of thieves.
SaharaReporters can confirm that that is already happening. Mr. Bankole has been receiving threats, cursing and harassment from members across the world. Bankole however says he stands by his earlier position, but expressed surprise at the attacks.
Below is Pastor Bankole's posting about the issue yesterday on his Facebook Wall:
I know this post will attract a sharp condemnation because I worship in RCCG&I was once a pastor before I resign0ed voluntarily because of rights violations in the name of religion.
I resigned in December 2010.
But am still worshipping in there as an ordinary member.
So, whatever. I have here is without prejudice.
Holy ghost congress of our great church is now a political congress where all shades of corrupt leaders will mount our altar to fool Nigerians on what they will do.
Holy Ghost congress is now a supermarket where all kinds of people like charlatans&political opportunist come shopping turning God to father xmas to give dem end of d year bonus.
Jonathan was even there turning our once sacred altar to political podium talking deceitfully&indirectly campaigning for 2015.
My question is this? On what ground was president Jonathan allowed to speak to people. Is he a pastor? Because d gathering is purely spiritual gathering&event. I've been a pastor in Redeemed for d past 10 years&I've not got any opportunity to sit on that altar not to talk of holding microphone. If because Jonathan is a president&he is recognized, it means some are more equal than others.
Immediately, I left camp on Saturday morning, I looked at the camp very well because I know that would be d last time I will set my foot to that Eagle square called Redeemed camp.

I will personally suggest to Pastor Chris Okotie to pay the man his money after they have sat down to compute his wages and his benefits. This is to avert unnecessary rumblings in the Kingdom of God. This all whole story does not edify the name of our God. Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo: The Church Last Paid Me In 1987 by Degis(m): 3:47am On Dec 09, 2012
Some of you don't get it. What business does he have with building a business empire when God called him to feed the sheep? Please take clues from Jesus' reminders to his disciples in John chapter 21. When Jesus was crucified, his disciples mourned for a few days and went back to fishing. After resurrection, Jesus appeared to them by the sea and reminded them of their callings. He repeated three times "Simon, son of jonas, loveth thou me......feed my sheep".

You cannot abandon the gospel for business and still lay claim to doing the work of God. Check Matthew 6 vs 19-24. You cannot serve God and mammon. You have to leave one for the other. The work of a priest is a difficult one. It is a calling to a life of denial and service to the Kingdom of God. You have no business laying treasures here on earth.

I'm saying that Oyedepo has abandoned his calling (if he ever had one). And I'm yet to see anyone prove otherwise citing the Bible.
M.U.M.U, you think you have written something sensible abi?. If Apostle Paul that wrote 2/3 of the New Testament still has a Tent Making Business and preaches, what is wrong in Bishop David Oyedepo having Businesses?. Your Catholicism creed of denial and poverty is just a concept of your denomination, which some of us versed in the things of the Spirit know that it is balderdash
Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo: The Church Last Paid Me In 1987 by Degis(m): 5:36pm On Dec 08, 2012
Sirniyeh: As at 1987 he claimed to have stopped collecting salary from the church, he was still in Kaduna. Then the members of his ministry were not up to 500. Ask him, from which source he feeds his family from since that 1987? He claimed he did not earn from the profit of the book published. Ask him, he published a book in 1989 "Overcoming The Power of Death" and he declared openly the profit he made from that single book alone. As at 1989, he had published 18 books.
Now, you people should let him realise that some people know his historical background of his ministry and why he left Kaduna for Lagos. So he should stop feeding the public BOBO!
Why did he pay over 1000 pastors off from his ministry? What happened when his brother inlaw almost finished the Abuja Church's treasury, that led to internal conflict between him and the wife? What instigated the change of winners Ghana headquarter's name before it was later resolved? What happened when a whole building during construction of covenant university collapsed? Where is the woman that single-handedly volunteer to pay half of the cost of the first Private Jet?
He can give BOBO but not all will accept it. I know more and more about him, to the extent of his connection with underworld personalities...
This man can go extra mile because of money. Tell him to remain silent.
Minister for Propaganda, tell us since you know!.
