NSCDC BOSS RESTRUCTURES RIVERS STATE COMMAND, DECLARES TOTAL WAR ON VANDALS AND ECONOMIC SABOTEURS

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has restated his assurance to restructure and reconstitute the anti vandal unit of Rivers State command with a view to prioritize the safety and protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Corps' Director of Public Relations, DCC Olusola Odumosu stated that, "The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, has affirmed his commitment to sanitizing and rejiging the Rivers State Command of the Corps for effective service delivery and optimal performance."

According to Odumosu, "This is in the furtherance of his assurance to restructure and reconstitute the anti vandal unit of Rivers State command with a view to prioritizing the safety and protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure towards putting an end to attacks or wanton vandalism."

"NSCDC as the lead agency in safeguarding all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in Nigeria is poised to putting in place a robust response and coordination system to guarantee safety and formidability of the country as Africa's largest economy and leading oil exporter with the largest natural gas reserves."

Dr Audi made this bold statement, while receiving the report of an Investigative committee set up to investigate the allegations by the governor of Rivers State against some personnel said to be aiding and abbeting suspected illegal dealers in petroleum products.

The committee which conducted an on the spot assessment of different locations in Rivers State including the NSCDC jetty and the exhibit yard where all impounded oil tankers, drums of illegally refined products, barges and boats were kept while awaiting Court judgement was headed by Acting DCG operations, Mohammed Lawal Haruna from the National headquarters Abuja.

The CG decried the action of some bad eggs within the Corps in various formations and gave stern warning to all heads of anti vandal unit to refrain from any form of compromise, charging them to be more committed, purposeful and patriotic in fulfilling the mandates of the Corps without prejudice.

"Henceforth, a telescopic monitoring would be launched on the activities of the anti vandal squads in all formations and anyone not living up to expectation would be shown the way out immediately. You must wake up from your slumber to arrest and prosecute vandals and criminals. Audi said

In a transparent move to ensure greater efficiency in the frontline of the Corps Anti Vandalism campaign in Rivers State which is the epicenter of oil exploration activities, the Corps helmsman methodically rejig the Command by removing the former Head of the Anti Vandal Unit who is from the North Central and replaced him with a New Head from South East, the State Commandant has also been replaced with a New Commandant from the North West while the Zonal Commander hails from the South South.

"I have charged the New Commandant and the newly reconstituted Anti Vandal Unit to launch a total war against petroleum pipeline vandals, illegal oil bunkerers and all economic saboteurs by dislodging vandals, arresting oil thieves and dismantling all illegal refineries and road blocks. Any attempt to delay immediate prosecution of arrested suspects is tantamount to compromise and any personnel caught collecting settlement or tampering with impounded tankers, petroleum products and other exhibits would be sanctioned and dealt with decisively according to the Standard Operating Procedures and Code of Ethics of the Corps".... Audi said.

He assured that the NSCDC under his watch will not condone any act of recklessness, indiscipline, negligence or compromise by any operatives as this is not only counter productive but at variance with his principles and the corporate existence of the Corps.

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi has been commended for his foresightedness, commitment over the establishment of the Special Female Squad (SFS) and the relentless efforts in the fight against insecurity across the nation.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Corps' Director of Public Relations, DCC Olusola Odumosu stated that, "The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Vetenary, Mrs Aisha'atu Abubakar has commended the efforts of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni. for the establishment of the Special Female Squad (SFS) and the relentless efforts in the fight against insecurity occasioned by banditry, kidnapping, abduction of school Children amongst others in the nation."

According to Odumosu, "AIG Abubakar said this while receiving in her office the SFS National Commander, CSC Oluwakemi Imohnike and her entourage who paid a courtesy call to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Abuja in order to strengthen the existing collaborations between the two organizations."

"While speaking on the activities of the Special Female Squad both in Abuja and other States of the federation Imohnike said, the NSCDC SFS was primarily established as a response to the clarion call by the federal government through the office of the Minister of Interior, Engr. Rauf Aregbesola who tasked the NSCDC Commandant General to develop a robust scheme that would tackle the menace of insecurity in schools. This pragmatic move of course is in tandem with the federal government safe schools initiative and since formation the Special Female Squad has not rested on her Oasis."

"Immediately the SFS was established we leveraged on the maximum support given by the Commandant General who had already set up a committee of intellectuals in corps that conducted a vulnerability studies on all schools across the federation, it was deduced that from over 82,000 government and private schools in the nation about 62,000 had no perimeter fencing or any security measures put in place to forestall external aggression and this informed our determination to put an end to kidnapping and abduction of School Children across the nation".

The Special Female Squad National Commander further said the Corps has employed a non-kinetic approach in tackling insecurity by carrying out sensitization and awareness programs across Primarily and Secondary Schools in Abuja and the entire federation as the students are being exposed to necessary security tips that would enhance their knowledge and make them develop a security conscious mindset in their day to day activities.

In her response AIG Aisha'atu Abubakar lauded the NSCDC Commandant General for giving the female personnel the opportunity of exercising their fundamental strength by contributing their quota to protection of lives and properties of the citizens; noting that women are diligent and dogged agent of positivity when given the much needed support and encouragement. She further affirmed that her office would facilitate a more elaborate interactive session, Security workshop and seminars between the two agencies to foster and strengthen the existing synergy and engender stronger collaborative effort in fight against insecurity.

Reacting to the passing of his beloved brother, Tunde Oni-Obasa, a renowned banker penned this emotional note

"Igi to ba da, kii pe n'igbo' like the Yoruba adage goes is really true as the best trees in the forest don’t last. Words fail me as it is because it never occurred to me that I will be writing your tribute this soon.
They say we can't choose family but in my life, I have never regretted having you as my brother and if reincarnation exists and I have the opportunity to choose my family, I will choose you many times over. A brother who became a father, a best friend to all.  I don’t think I can recollect anytime you have gotten angry to the extent that you lost your cool and I can’t say that there has been any time that the atmosphere around you is dour as your smile and your jokes have always been a source of reassurance and joy. Humble and accommodating to a fault, everyone was is your friend
I will not say that I will miss you because that would be an understatement but one thing is certain; you have reiterated that true living is not by how long one lives but by how well one does. You lived well a life worthy of emulation and a life worthy of envy.
Honorable Olayinka Obasa, your honor has never been in question as you have lived your life well and to the fullest. Your legacy and your achievements attest to that fact.
Rest on dear brother, till we meet to part no more

Ubani Wins A Landmark Case Against EFCC, Court awards N12million as damages

Oki Samson

www.trekafrica.net

The FCT High Abuja has awarded the sum of 12 million in favour of Dr Monday Ubani for detaining him illegally for over 20 days on the ground that the woman (Dr Mrs Ngozi Olejeme) he stood surety for jumped bail. The court presided over by Justice Sylvanus Oriji was of the view that the detention infringed on the right of Dr Ubani and therefore entitled to the reliefs he sought for. The detention was declared illegal and instead of the sum of 5billion naira he sought for, he was awarded the sum of 12million naira as damages. The court however refused to order the EFCC to offer public apology for the illegal detention.

With this judgement, the matter of Dr Ubani whose illegal detention generated so much tension in the legal circle has been laid to rest. NBA as a national body, NBA Ikeja Branch, Christian Lawyers Fellowship of Nigeria, Otu Oka Iwu, umbrella body of Eastern Lawyers, Eastern Bar Forum, group of Lawyers from the Old Eastern Nigeria, Mr Femi Falana SAN and the counsel of Dr Ubani, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN were the groups and individuals that roundly condemned the detention of Dr Ubani by Magu led EFCC at the time of the detention.

The decision today further settled the already established law that a surety has not committed any crime when the person he stood surety jumps bail. The only legal implication for the surety is to show cause or forfeit the bail bond. Arresting and detaining such a surety amounts to a flagrant violation of the rights of that individual.

The Applicant expressed extreme joy for the victory. He specifically thank God, Chief Mike Ozekhome and his legal team like Barristers Malik and Benson who showed magnificent commitment in the handling of the case. He appreciated Femi Falana SAN who from beginning advised that EFCC was wrong to have detained Dr Ubani. He also thanked the NBA and several other groups and individuals too numerous to mention who stood by him in those trying times especially his wife Lady Faurstina Ubani and his children. The media institution is also appreciated.

PoliticsSanwo-olu Honours Ex-lagos Cp, As Aig Odumosu Bows Out Of Police Force by DejiPlug(op): 11:47pm On Jan 25, 2022
•Governor to new CP: ‘Fight criminals with renewed fervour’

• ‘Eliminating bank robbery part of my legacy in Lagos’ - Odumosu

The immediate past Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu, on Tuesday, inspected the final parade as a cop, taking a bow out of the Police Force.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in his note of commendation, said Odumosu served Lagos and the country with every mental and physical strength he is endowed with, saying it was time for the star crime buster to drop off the uniform for a post-service life.

Odumosu’s retirement from the Force followed his recent attainment of the rank of AIG, after which the statutory retirement age set in. He was enlisted in the police on March 3, 1990 and served for 32 years.

The AIG took a bow at the Pull-out Parade and Valedictory Ceremony organised in his honour by the Lagos State Government at the Police Training Ground in Ikeja.

The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council, representative of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), former IGP, Alhaji Musiliu Smith (rtd), Oba of Lagos, Alayeluwa Rilwan Akiolu, wife of the Minister of Works and Housing, Dame Abimbola Fashola, Commissioners of Police from Southwest states, Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials and family members of the retiring officer.

Odumosu, an astute law enforcement officer nicknamed “Tango One” for his exceptional skill in flushing out criminals, served as first chairman of Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) and also the Commander of the State-funded Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

Sanwo-Olu described Odumosu as “nemesis” of criminally-minded elements, noting that the ex-Lagos Commissioner of Police had a deep knowledge of the nooks and crannies of the State.

The Governor thanked the outgoing AIG for his service to Lagos during which the State recorded receding crime rate. The Governor said Odumosu attended to his constitutional duties with vigour, courage and without giving excuses, adding that he led officers serving in the State’s Police Command from the front throughout his tenure as Commissioner.

The Governor said: “Hakeem Odumosu’s appointment in November 2019 as Commissioner of Police in Lagos came with much expectation, as it was believed that his arrival would bring the long-sought succour which many Lagosians yearned given the security challenges facing the State then. These expectations came as a result of his very deep knowledge and understanding of what security architecture of Lagos should be.

“Tango One, as we all call him, came with wealth of experience, and new approaches to pursue effective policing. Those approaches led to an improvement in security of lives and property in Lagos. He came, he saw and he is bequeathing a well-informed and motivated police command to officers serving in Lagos. He discharged his duties with diligence and emerged as outstanding police officer. I am happy to be at this occasion, which is a deserving farewell to AIG Hakeem Odumosu out of the Nigeria Police Force.”

Sanwo-Olu said Odumosu led the police in Lagos at challenging periods, pointing out that his stewardship brought back discipline and deepened character across hierarchies in the Command, especially the rank and file.

The Governor said Odumosu was leaving a big shoe in the Command, given his meritorious accomplishment as crime buster. He charged the new Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, to take up the gauntlet and build on the structure laid by his predecessor.

“It would be a disservice to AIG Odumosu if the level of policing in Lagos goes down after this moment. The least we can do is to ensure the labour of Odumosu is not in vain. I charge the new Commissioner of Police and all officers serving in Lagos Command to show renewed commitment to fight crimes and ensure security of lives is raised to the level where the State would be the envy of others in the country,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of Southwest operations, Johnson Kokumo, who represented the IGP Usman Alkali Baba, said Odumosu, throughout his years of service, did not fit into the description of “mercantile police officer” – term used to portray unethical officers, stressing that the AIG was leaving a legacy of diligence, hard work and strictness in the Force.

Smith, who is chairman of Police Service Commission, said it was time for Odumosu to take a rest after an accomplishing career in the police and settle down as a family man.

In his valedictory speech, Odumosu, accompanied by his wife, Alhaja Nafisat, said he was not leaving the Force out of tiredness, but quitting to experience civil life, having attained mandatory retirement age.

He noted that his decision to join the police was not out of joblessness but his desire to serve his fatherland after his first degree in Arts at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Odumosu, who also holds a Law degree, two Master’s degrees and Diploma certificates, advised young officers to embrace discipline, which he described as the “bedrock of the Force”.

He said: “I want to make it known that, despite challenges I faced in the course of my career, I have no regret joining the Force. The police properly groomed me to become a professional law enforcement officer that can stand tall among his peers anywhere in the world.

“As Lagos RRS Commander, the job toughened me to frontally confront daredevil armed criminals whose passion was robbing banks. Since then, bank robbery incidents in Lagos nosedived. Today, I am proud to say that there was no single bank robbery throughout my tenure as Commissioner of Police in Lagos.

“It is time for me to quit the state and continue my journey into civil life. I have played my role and delivered my line. I am retiring today, but I am not tired. Nigeria Police Force will continue to be my constituency.”

Odumosu thanked the All Progressives Congress leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu and Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola for being pillars of support throughout his service years in Lagos.

I believe in interpersonal relationship than official because official relationship goes through official procedure and it takes a longer time. And in security, every second matters. In operations, every second matters. That is why we all believe in the Army and in the Police that response time matters. Something might go out of hand if we are going through official procedure. That is why I believe in interpersonal relationship, no matter how tight my assignment is, once is military, I have to forgo others to make sure I am there.’

Speaking further on Brig. Gen. Saraso who he regarded as ‘my bosom friend and co-traveler in making Lagos secured’ in the visit covered by Members of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP, AIG Odumosu said: ‘i want to put it on record that since you assume office, MLD Saraso, there has never been clash between the military and the police.f

Whoever gets the information first will usually tell the other to come on board. There is never a case of military detaining police or police detaining military except those officers who got themselves involved in criminal activities.’

‘You are leaving 9th Brigade, you are not leaving Army, you are not leaving Police, you are not leaving Odumosu. God Almighty will go ahead of you in Asaba and work with you. He will keep the homefront for you. As you leave Lagos, don’t forget Lagos.’

Addressing the new Brigade Commander, Brig Gen, AIG Odumosu shared: ‘You are most welcome to Lagos State Police Command. Lagos is the economic nerve centre of the country. Anything that happens in Lagos, the whole country have a feeling of it. 80% of flight from Abuja on Thursday, Friday is going to Lagos likewise on Monday, the opposite happens to Abuja. So everybody is interested in Lagos.’

‘Nothing succeeds without security. So we need to keep Lagos safe and I want you to build on that. It is true that I am leaving the service when I attain 60 years on 25th of this month. I am leaving service but I am not out of service. Anything that is needed in Lagos, don’t hesitate to call me outside of office.’

In the same vein, the Brig. Gen. MLD Saraso praised AIG Odumosu, ‘I want to show appreciation to AIG Odumosu for the tremendous support, co-operation that he has given me during the time as the Commander of 9th Brigade. The co-operation I enjoyed transcended beyond official level. He is somebody that I could at anytime pick my phone to call or send him text to report something that comes to my knowledge about happening in Lagos that could contribute to maintenance of law and order and where necessary, asking him of where we can come to provide support so that we can plan ahead. He has done that so much for us. It makes things much easier.’
‘We have not had any major incidence of breakdown of law and order in Lagos to God be the glory and to his credence and that of other stakeholders for the period I worked with him. This is due largely to the interpersonal relationship that we maintained. I thank the CP and his team as well as other critical stakeholders with whom I have had the privilege to serve’, says the fine Army officer who took charge of the 9th Brigade Command, Maryland, Lagos in April last year.

In his response, the new Army Commander, Brig. Gen. Where I can upgrade it, I will do so. I will like to say happy retirement to AIG Odumosu as he bows out of service.’

CrimeAssault On Traffic Wardens: One Soldier Arrested In Ongoing Investigation by DejiPlug(op): 10:49pm On Jan 10, 2022
ONE SOLDIER ARRESTED AS INVESTIGATION IS ONGOING TO IDENTIFY AND ARREST ALL CULPRITS IN THE UNFORTUNATE ASSAULT ON TRAFFIC WARDENS IN IBADAN

Following the viral video of an assault on two traffic wardens by men on military uniform suspected to be soldiers, the Headquarters Nigerian Army ordered immediate investigation to identify and arrest the culprits. Preliminary investigation has shown that the unfortunate incident took place on Friday, 7 January, 2022 at Adeoye Road by Ring Road, Ibadan.

The investigation is also already yielding results as one of assailants, a Lance Corporal of the Nigerian Army has been taken into custody. Efforts are being made in collaboration with the Oyo State Command of the Nigerian Police Force to identify, locate and arrest the remaining culprits.

Even as investigation is still ongoing, the Nigerian Army wishes to dissociate itself from the very reprehensible conduct of the individuals seen in that video. The vicious attack on fellow security personnel or any unarmed citizens in the manner seen in the video is not consistent with the ethos and professionalism of the Nigerian Army and therefore stands condemned in very strong terms.

At the end of investigation, anyone found culpable in the sordid incident will be made to face the full wrath of the disciplinary provisions of the Nigerian Army.

CelebritiesWhat Is A Business? How Is God Affecting Yours Today? by DejiPlug(op): 7:00am On Jan 10, 2022
Deuteronomy 8:18

A business is any commercial or industrial activity that one engages, with the purpose of making profit. The main purpose of any business is to generate income- the ability for a man or woman to eke out a living- either periodically or per commodity.

A typical example is the fashion designer, whose income is generated through sales of clothing materials and professional skills; in this same vein, A business can also be defined as the platform for exchange of value for goods and services.

Business is a vital aspect of life and living, which has been in existence for ages, and continues to evolve throughout generations of mankind. And we find documented evidence of God's hand in man's business, as far back as Biblical times, like Father Abraham (Gen 13:2-4), Job (Job 1:3), Apostle Paul (Acts 18:3) and King Solomon ((1 Kings 10:22-29, 2 Chronicles 9:13-14)were all successful businessmen.

No one is entitled to financial gain without engaging in productive activity or exchange of value for service provided. And every child of God belongs to a breakthrough family in Jesus Christ. (Prov;13v11: Matt;5v13-15: Matt;7v20)

All of our skills and special talents that we use in our businesses are all given to us by God, and that is a very good reason to include HIM in all of our business plans

When making decisions about every venture- especially after gathering relevant information, it is very important to always invite God to give the verdict, through prayers, or HIS Word, because it is HE alone who knows all things. And only through His will do we become a wonder to our generation

It is one thing to be in a place and another to partake in the blessings associated with that place. Just as, it is not enough to associate with God, but to fully abide in Him, hence our hearts must be connected. (1Cor;7v20: John;15v5: Matt;7v24-25).

Top 5 Reasons GOD Should Be Your Business Strategist

God has been since forever.
Imagine co-running a business or project whatsoever with an Entity that has been, that still is and forever will be, or simply tapping from His ageless wisdom. HE knows what has been, what is being and what will be
Although GOD has been around orchestrating mighty acts since before the beginning of time, God does not meddle in the affairs of men, unless invited.

God will speed your processes
If your ways and processes align with divine ordination, God is known to bend time, skip lengthy processes and even break supernatural laws for you. Those who have experienced God's speedy hand at work in their affairs call Him the Time Bender, who needs no permission from anyone. God's ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts on the same track with ours.

God will improve your quality
We live in a highly competitive world today, where we have more discerning customers who are not easily impressed. But having a Master strategist like GOD, who confuses the wise with the foolish things of this world, success is guaranteed.
My mentor in the Faith shared the testimony of a fashion designer who bought a car within months by handling just one customer.

God will make your workforce more productive with less.
When the productivity of a business declines, it's normal to look for ways to make the workforce more productive, with cost reductions. But what God does is to help remove the limitations of the workforce, and allowing workers to do more with less.
Consider Gideon in the Bible, with 300 selected men, he defeated an army of several thousands, by simply following God's counsel.

SYLVESTER OROMONI: NO EVIDENCE OF TORTURE, CHEMICAL INTOXICATION - SECOND AUTOPSY REVEALS; LAGOS CP WARNS AGGRIEVED PERSONS TO DESIST FROM PROTESTS FORTHWITH

The Lagos Commissioner of Police, AIG Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu has urged family, friends, and other aggrieved members of the public to seek redress in court in the case involving the late Dowen College student, Sylvester Oromoni. This is because unlawful acts aimed at disrupting peace and order in Lagos state will no longer be tolerated forthwith. The CP made this assertion at the press conference covered by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP held at the force headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.

He added that the second autopsy conducted on the 12-year old reported that there was no evidence of blunt force or chemical intoxication, NAOSNP gathered.

Sharing the autopsy report, AIG Odumosu said: 'For purpose of clarification, it is pertinent to convey to members of the public in simple terms, the commentary/submission of Dr. SS Soyemi, the consultant pathologist who led a team of pathologists to carry out the autopsy. He declared and I quote: Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a 12-year old student of Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos, reportedly died on November 30, 2021 at a private hospital in Warri, Delta State.'

'It was alleged that the deceased was physically assaulted and poisoned in the school prior to death. The first autopsy was done in Warri on December 2, 2021.'

'Following an order for a second autopsy, the body of the deceased was brought to Lagos for a second autopsy. Our findings at the second autopsy include marked pallor of organs, pneumonia (infection of the lungs), infections of the liver and kidneys as well as the heart. These infections emanated from the ankle infection described earlier in the report. Microscopic sections also confirmed these findings.

Death was caused by Septicaemia following infections of the lungs and kidneys arising from the ankle wound. No evidence of blunt force trauma in this body. The findings in the oesophagus and stomach are not compatible with chemical intoxication. Death in this case is natural', AIG Odumosu quoted the autopsy report conducted in Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on 14th December 2021.

The autopsy carried out by Dr. S.S Soyemi, the Consultant Pathologist and Chief Examiner, Department of Pathology and Forensic Sciences, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos was done in the presence of representatives of all the parties involved in the case. The witnesses are Dr. Uwon Eze, a consultant Pathologist from UCH represented Timile’s family;
Dr. Badmus Kabiru, Consultant Pathologist from LUTH represented Dowen College;
Dr. Nwigwe Chikodili Isabella, Consultant Pathologist from Military Hospital Yaba represented Edward Brown, student of
Dowen College; and Dr. Clement Vhriterhire, Consultant Pathologist who performed the first autopsy represented the family of the deceased. Others are Dr. Musa Stephen Itopa, Consultant Pathologist from UPTH represented Michael Kasamu, student of Dowen College; Dr. F.E. Emiogun, Consultant Pathologist in LASUTH; Dr. O.O. Kila Uvie-Emegbo, Consultant Pathologist in LASUTH;
Dr. O.O. Onayemi, senior Registrar in LASUTH; Dr. M. Salisu, senior Registrar on autopsy posting in LASUTH; Dr. A.C. Chima, Registrar from ABU on autopsy posting in
LASUTH; and Dr. F. Emetomah, Registrar.

The Police was represented by CSP Rasak Oseni, Homicide Section, represented the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command; DSP Olusegun Bamidele, Homicide Section, also represented the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos state Command; and Sgt. Shola Adeniyi, Homicide Section, represented the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command, Trek Africa Newspaper reports.

AIG Hakeem Odumosu continued: 'The result of the second autopsy carried out in Lagos was released on 21st December, 2021. The result attributed the cause of death to ‘Septicaemia, lobar pneumonia with acute pyelonephritis and pyomyositis of the right ankle’. On 30th December, 2021, the toxicology screening results of the first autopsy carried out in Warri was released.

The result issued and signed by Dr Clement Vhriterhire, same doctor who carried out the initial autopsy attributed cause of death to ‘acute bacteria pneumonia due to severe sepsis’. At the end of diligent investigation carried out so far, there is no evidence to establish a case of torture, bullying and forceful application of poisonous substance against the suspects.'

'All the suspects denied the allegations of torture, bullying and administering of poisonous substance to the deceased. Allegation that the deceased was being forced to join a cult group was also not established as other students interviewed denied this. Final results of the post mortem and toxicology examination conducted both at Warri and Lagos agreed that the deceased died a natural death.'

On the legal angle, CP Hakeem Odumosu shared: 'Despite this and following legal procedure, the case file was duplicated and sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice. Legal advice, however, indicated that ‘there is no prima facie case of murder, involuntary manslaughter and or malicious administering of poison with intent to harm’ against the students and the House Masters, hence they cannot be prosecuted. Hence they were all released on bail. The final result of the autopsy and DPP advice were officially released by the State government earlier in the week.'

The eight suspects including three House Masters of the College and five students who were said to have been mentioned by the deceased before his death have been released on bail. They were granted bail after the expiration of the 21 days remand order. The students are Ansel Temile ‘m’ aged 14; Michael Kashamu ‘m’ aged 15; Kenneth Inyang ‘m’ aged 15; Favour Benjamin ‘m’ aged 16; and Edward Begue ‘m’ aged 16. The House masters are Valentine Igbokwe ‘m aged 45; Ahmed Bariyu ‘m’ aged 52; and Adesanya Olusegun ‘m aged 42.

Issuing stern orders to anybody who may want to disrupt the peace of the state, CP Hakeem Odumosu said: 'In spite of the transparent investigation carried out by the police and the non-establishment of prima facie case against the suspects, some members of the Ijaw Youths Council, Lagos led by one Comrade Henry Oyobolo protested in front of Bowen College for over two hours yesterday 6th January, 2022. The protesters including masquerades carried placards and were drumming, thereby causing panic and apprehension. The protesters who conducted themselves in a manner capable of causing breach of peace also caused temporary traffic jam. But for the professional way the police managed the protest, it would have led to violence.'

'Much as we commiserate with the bereaved family on the death of their lovely and promising child, it is advised that the protesters and other individuals or groups who are still aggrieved should go to law court to seek redress instead of taking the law into their own hands. Thus member of the public who may have any misgivings about the outcome of the police investigation, medical enquiry and legal advice with this case are advised to follow due process in law rather than resorting to self help.'

'The police will not fold their arms and allow any act or omission that could threaten the peace being enjoyed in the state', he warned.

CelebritiesGod Is Not A Father Christmas God by DejiPlug(op): 6:58am On Jan 07, 2022
Many shouted happy new year with us
But now, are no more
Others in the hospital
Prison or morgue
We all serve the same God

Thank God for life and freedom
God of the Bible, Father of Jesus.
God who so loved us
Enough to give us his Son
How well do you love God

Is the Lord with you
The laborers are few
Are you a dedicated Christian or Muslim
Knowing God is not enough
How close are you to HIS Will

Are you a true worshiper
True love requires sacrifices
For pleasures, we indulge no excuses
For God, we tender excuses
What sacrifice are you rendering to God

Everyday alive is an opportunity
To serve God in truth and spirit
Jesus Christ came to show the way
To serve, worship, fast and pray
In this season of turnaround escapes

God is a rewarder of men
Never a user of men
God is a good businessMan
Doing business with those who serve Him
What is your business with God

The charge for this week is to draw closer to God through prayers and word study, find a unit in your local assembly and be committed to serving God. And watch how He decorates your life this year!

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has agreed to strengthen existing partnership and synergy between the two agencies in various areas of operations especially in the fight against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the  Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Mr. Femi Babafemi stated that, "The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC have agreed to strengthen existing partnership and synergy between the two agencies in various areas of operations especially in the fight against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking."

According to Babafemi, "The commitment was the highpoint of a courtesy visit by the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi to the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) at the anti-drug Agencys national headquarters in Abuja on Thursday 6th January 2022."

In his remarks, the NSCDC boss said he was on the visit to tap from the knowledge and experience of Gen. Marwa in transforming NDLEA within a short time; seek for synergy and collaboration between the two agencies, while noting that he has continued to follow Marwas antecedents and achievements in public service since he was still a student.
In his response, the NDLEA Chief Executive commended the NSCDC boss for bringing to bear his experience and intellectual capacity on the work of the Corps. He said whatever has been achieved in the past year in NDLEA was due largely to the grace of God as well as the commitment of officers and men of the Agency.
According to him, well like to bring the problem of drug abuse under control as quickly as possible because of its effects on public health and national security. As such, well like to call for renewed partnership with the Civil Defence so that together we can bring criminalities under control in communities and the country at large. With your visible physical presence in the grassroots, well work with you in our drug demand and drug supply control efforts.

Earlier, the leadership of Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative led by Ambassador Sadiq Badamasi Ibrahim also visited Gen. Marwa during which they sought partnership with NDLEA on their mission to take anti-drug advocacy campaigns across the country. The global body also conferred on Marwa the 2021 Man of the Year award among other recognitions.
