WEARING OF MILITARY UNIFORM BY UNAUTHORISED PERSONS AND POLITICIANS FOR ELECTIONEERING CAMPAIGN POSTERS IS ILLEGAL

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has noticed with dismay that some politicians have formed the habit of wearing military uniforms and accoutrements for electioneering campaign posters.

The campaign posters of some Governors, dressed in military camouflage uniforms, are displayed in noticeable areas in their respective states. This is manifestly illegal and an abuse of the privilege of allowing civilians wear military uniforms during military training exercises.

It is necessary to restate that the Armed Forces of Nigeria, as a professional institution, remains apolitical and, as such, would not want to be dragged into any form of political bias. Accordingly, it is important to advise politicians and others to desist from the use of military uniforms and accoutrements for political events and other engagements henceforth. Please note, anyone found culpable in this regard would be liable to prosecution.

An unnamed Chief Superintendent of Police on Tuesday openly defied the order of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to vacate the Magodo Phase 2 Estate area of the state.

The CSP told the governor that he and his armed colleagues were at the estate on the orders of the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba; as well as the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN).

Sanwo-Olu had led members of his cabinet to visit the residents protesting the continuous presence of armed policemen in the estate.

For days, policemen besieged the estate in the company of suspected land grabbers and members of a family who had planned to demolish property in the choice estate to execute a Supreme Court judgment. The development has caused commotion at the estate as landlords and tenants panic over their fate.

The residents subsequently called on the governor to intervene and Sanwo-Olu visited the scene on Tuesday and told the leader of the police delegation that the land matter was a case between private individuals and the state government.

Sanwo-Olu said, “Can you call your superiors in Abuja and tell them that the governor is here and as the Chief Security Officer, you don’t have any business being in my state right now and that I want you to disengage right now?”

But the unnamed CSP replied, “I am here on the instruction of the Inspector General of Police through the AGF. I am too small or too low to call them. Your Excellency sir, you can call them sir.”

Asked of the number of policemen at the estate, the defiant leader of the police team told the governor, “My men are here; they are all over the place, I cannot precisely tell you how many we are. For security purpose, I cannot tell you the number.”

After many failed attempts, the governor, miffed, turned to journalists and declared the presence of the policemen as illegal, adding that he would make some calls to the IGP and the AGF.

A dissatisfied Sanwo-Olu said, “They (policemen) are not from the Lagos State Police Command. They said they are from Abuja. I don’t know what other interest they have beyond keeping the peace of the country. This is not an expectation that I expect from them because they don’t have any business here.”

NEW YEAR 2022: GO AFTER CRIMINALS WITH RENEWED VIGOUR, NO MORE BUSINESS AS USUAL; NSCDC BOSS CHARGES PERSONNEL

In his 2022 new year message, the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has charges all Commanders and the entire Corps operatives to redouble their efforts and strengthen operational capabilities toward fulfilling the mandates of the Corps and other ad-hoc assignments.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Corps' Director of Public Relations, DCC Olusola Odumosu stated that, "The Commandant General (CG), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, Phd, mni, has directed all Zonal Commanders, State Commandants and the entire Corps operatives to redouble efforts and strengthen their operational capabilities toward fulfilling the mandates of the Corps and other ad-hoc assignments more effectively this new year."

According to Odumosu, "He urged personnel to take advantage of their closeness to the members of the public in gathering credible Intelligence that would help tackle the various challenges of insecurity affecting the country, noting that intelligence information ahead of any criminal activity always put security agencies at vantage positions to repel any untoward attack before it occurs."

"The CG gave this charge in his new year message to the entire management and staff of the Corps where he appreciated and commended all the personnel across the country for supporting his administration to achieve remarkable success in the preceding year, by putting in their best to see that the Corps justifies the essence of its creation under his leadership."

He however, expressed concern that the out-gone year 2021, marked a very challenging period for the country due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 Virus and it's unprecedented effect on our national life. Similarly, the menace of banditry, kidnapping for ransom and acts of terrorism also dealt a debilitating blow on the country's security architecture with unnecessary killings of innocent citizens, abduction of school children, kidnapping and maiming, as well as attacks on security operatives.

Audi expressed the commitment of his administration to combating criminalities and tackling headon all threats to National Security, emphasizing that it would no longer be business as usual as marching orders has been given to all Zonal Commanders and State Commandants to deploy officers and men massively to every nooks and crannies of the nation in a renewed fight against all forms of criminalities such as vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure, oil pipelines and installations, electrical and communication equipment, railway sleepers, attack on farmers and other associated organized crimes.

The Commandant General reiterated that training and re-training as well as the welfare of his officers and men would be given a pivotal consideration in the new year in order to motivate and enhance their capacity for improved performances. In his words, Audi said "Discipline starts from training and adequate training improves capacity, therefore, we will not compromise standards in NSCDC, rather, personnel would be guided by the new Standard Operating Procedure and Code of Ethics to give Nigerians the best of service."

"We will continue to work relentlessly and assiduously to actualize our vision of rejiging, revamping, rejuvenating, restructuring and repositioning the Corps to a world class elite organization poised to adequately protect the citizens and safeguard all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across Nigeria" Audi said.

While welcoming the entire nation to the new year; Dr Audi reminded all and sundry that the year 2022 would witness a lot of political activities prior to the coming election year, hence, parents and guardians should keenly watch over their wards so as not to be used as tools in the hands of some political warlords to cause mayhem or heat up the polity unnecessarily.

He advised parents and guardians to watch over their children very closely, the youths are also enjoined to participate in positive activities that would better their lives and beneficial to the nation as operatives of the Corps have been mandated to swoop on any criminal or perceived enemies of the country and such individual would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The NSCDC Helmsman affirmed that the fight against insurgency and insecurity in general calls for conserted efforts of both the government and security agencies and the general public at large. He emphasized on the need for credible Intelligence and information gathering as this remains vital instruments for security agencies in tackling insecurity saying: "If you see something, you must say something".

The year 2022 has been greeted with great excitement by Nigerians in different strata of society. It is a year that they regard as full of opportunities for national development.

Phenomenal as the year preceding that of the general elections hence full of political activities, keeping the peace and security is crucial. This is the crux of the New Year goodwill message of the President of National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), Comrade Oki Samson to all Nigerians.

In his message, Mr. Oki demands that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Pres. Muhammadu Buhari GCFR ensure the security of lives and properties in the New Year. He said. 'The primary role of government in a society is security. I am charging President Buhari GCFR whom the citizens have given the mandate to be the President and leader to ensure security. The
government should sit up and address the issue of insecurity across the country. We cannot continue to allow our citizens to die like chicken. The citizens believe so much in him as a war general to keep the peace.

They elected him not once but twice because of his track record of achievements as a fine officer of international repute. This tense insecurity situation should not continue under his watch especially as he rounds up his administration as a democrat.'

'President Buhari should not tarnish his good image. Nigerians love him. It is this mindset that made them vote for him massively. He should address insecurity and deal with the people behind it.'

To the state governors, he added: 'I call on state governors, you are the Chief Security Officer of your states. When things happen, we hear 'we will investigate, we will investigate', till date no outcome of investigation. Yet security issues are emerging everyday in all states. Your role is to provide security.'

The NAOSNP President who doubles as Publisher of Trek Africa Newspaper called on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff, COAS Farouk Yahaya, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi and heads of security agencies to name and shame bad eggs hiding in their forces. In his message, he charged them that the days of shielding bad  are over. 'I call on the IGP Alkali Usman Baba, COAS Farouk Yahaya and other leaders to take up responsibility and call their men to order especially when they themselves are giving their best. There are some bad eggs in your force that are messing up your good image.'

'It is high time that the IGP Alkali Usman Baba, COAS Farouk Yahaya, and other leaders redeem the image of their respective agencies by sanitising the system. When any officer is found involved in this shameful acts and public disgrace, name and shame them immediately. That's the way to go. Enough of shielding them. For example, the issue of the drunk policeman who killed a 16-year-old girl in Itire-Ikate, Lagos, the Police deleted the identity of that man on Facebook and when the Nigerian media requested for the pictures of the officer, they didn't release it. That must not continue.'

'When any officer commits a blunder, you should name and shame him. By so doing, it will reduce the atrocities of our officers. When you carry gun and wear uniforms, you are not better than the average citizens, you are just privileged to be in that position. What you are meant to do is to be a protector agent not a killer agent.'

'There is need for reorientation of our officers across board. Citizens should not see them and be afraid rather they should be happy. You are not meant to brutalize but to keep the peace. Security agencies are not created to harass citizens but to protect citizens. I recall the incident of a military officer who dealt blows and kicked a lady out of a bus in Maryland, Lagos. The driver cannot talk. Other passengers cannot talk. Yet, the bus moved on like that with the officer because he carried arms bought by taxpayers money for him.'

'Our officers really need reorientation in this New Year. This is why many citizens see them as enemies which is not supposed to be. The uniformed officers need the civil population to succeed. They need public confidence.'

On a final note, '2022 should be a prosperous year for all Nigerians but security must be guaranteed. We want a 2022 in which everyone can prosper. Food security is a serious national issue because farmers cannot get to their farmland to till the land because of insecurity. People can't travel for their businesses and families because of insecurity and not everyone can afford air travel. This is causing businesses to collapse, families to divide, and poverty.'

'All hands must be on deck for national development which has its foundation in security. 2022 is a wake up call for national security', the National President of NAOSNP concluded in his 2022 goodwill message.

LAGOS POLICE BOSS, AIG HAKEEM ODUMOSU HOLDS END-OF-YEAR PRESS BRIEFING, ASKS LAGOSIANS TO ‘RATE OUR PERFORMANCE’

In what is probably his major last press briefing as the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, AIG Hakeem Olusegun Odumosu has given a report of the activities of the Nigeria Police under his administration in the last quarter of year 2021 covered by NAOSNP President, Oki Samson at the Police Command headquarters in Ikeja. This is consistent with the traditions of the Lagos Police Boss to address security issues in the state on a quarterly basis.

The newly promoted to the Rank as Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu expressed: ‘It is our tradition to bring back to the people that we serve, that is why you have been invited to witness this. Recently the Command designed and put in place new security measures while strengthening eixisting security apparatus. We carefully reviewed security strategies coupled with operational strategies consciously put in place to keep Lagos safe have led to modest achievement at the last quarter of the year.’

‘Nobody sees himself without a mirror, you are the mirror of the Command. You can rate our performance than us rating ourselves. But one thing is clear, Lagos is safe, shall continue to remain safe, and the best and safest place in Nigeria. There are so many organizations and people coming to Lagos because there is peace and security. Hotels are booked up because there is peace and security. There are so many concerts and conferences going on because there is security.’

On the criminal activities that they foiled, he shared: ‘Some of the criminal elements were arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery, cultism, murder, stealing, illegal security outfit, etc. Miscreants were equally arrested during raids of criminal hideouts in Lagos while human parts, military accoutrements, firearms, etc were recovered. Suspects have been charged to court after completion of our investigation.’

Addressing the question of cult groups posed by journalists during the press briefing, AIG Hakeem O. Odumosu shared: ‘when we came in, the issue of 1 million boys sending jittery messages to many parts of Lagos was common. Then we had No Salary Boys came in. Then Awawa Boys came in at another period. We did what the law said we should do and now, you can’t hear of Awawa Boys, 1 Million Boys, No Safety Boys, we have dealt with them according to law. No one can say that they receive letters from these groups. We trust that the CP taking over from me will continue so that Lagos will continue to be peaceful’.

The newly-promoted AIG H. O. Odumosu added: ‘Three days ago, I had to go to the Lagos House of Assembly to appreciate them because many bills have been passed and signed by the Lagos State Government which has made Lagos state safe. One of the laws is the anti-cultism law. It has brought so many people to be responsible and conscious. The law that was repealed had no punishment for landlords, parents, hoteliers, and those aiding and abetting cultists.’

‘But this new law has involved all those groups of people. This has made all facility owners to screen for what purposes their facilities will be used. It has brought consciousness of landlords, landladies, and agents what are the means of livelihood of their tenants. Before they don’t care what the person does as long as he can afford to pay. The parents too are involved for not reporting their children who are involved in cultism, it is 2 years. Those who aid and abet in terms of allowing cultists to escape when police are pursuing, there is punishment for that. And we are enforcing it. That is why these things have gone down.’

The AIG hinted on the issue of stolen vehicles, ‘If there is no willing seller there will be no willing buyer. There must be interest in what to sell, what to buy, and how much to buy. If you cook a pot of rice today and nobody buys, same thing tomorrow, next tomorrow you won’t cook. I appeal to the general public when they advertise to you, try to find out the source before buying.’

On the law preventing the parade of suspects in public, the AIG Odumosu noted that the law have to be obeyed by the Police. ‘It is an honour to be the first Commissioner of Police to address the Lagos House of Assembly on the law talking about parading suspects. I told them I quite understand their mindset to enact the law to protect human rights of citizens. If you are paraded by the press, you still remain a suspect until a court of competent jurisdiction convicts the persons.’

‘If at the end of the day, the person is discharged and acquitted and you have been paraded as suspect, what happens? That is the mindset and I appreciate that. But we have to think of strategies to discourage criminality so we have to meet at a point. That is why you don’t see our men as you used to do. We need to obey the laws of the state.’

JUST IN: IGP ORDERS POSTING OF CP EDWARD EGBUKA AS COMMISSIONER OF POLICE KOGI STATE 
• Charges Kogi Citizens to support the Police for improved security

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has ordered the immediate posting of CP Edward Chuka Egbuka as the new Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Force Spokesperson, CP Frank Mba stated that, "The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc (+), NPM, fdc has ordered the immediate posting of CP Edward Chuka Egbuka to Kogi State Command as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) in- charge of the State. The posting follows the redeployment of CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda to the Force Headquarters for other national engagements."

According to Mba, "The new Commissioner of Police, CP Egbuka, who was until this deployment the Commissioner of Police in charge of Communications at the Force Headquarters, was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force in 1988. He holds a BSc (Hons) in History and International Relations from the University of Calabar and a Law Degree from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology."

"An astute law enforcement officer with international peacekeeping experience and a member of the prestigious International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), CP Edward Egbuka has attended several tactical and leadership courses within and outside Nigeria and has served in various capacities within the Force. He was the immediate past Commissioner of Police in Charge of Plateau State Police Command. As a Deputy Commissioner of Police, he was in charge of Operations in Osun State Command and Kogi State Commands and also in charge of Criminal Investigations at the Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, amongst other key postings."

The IGP while assuring the people of Kogi State of the commitment of the Police leadership to containing prevailing and emerging crime trends in the State, charged the new Commissioner of Police to bring his vast experience to bear, in consolidating the achievements of his predecessor, towards ensuring increased public safety and security of lives and property in Kogi State. He further called on the Government and good people of Kogi State to give the new Police chief maximum support and collaboration in his new role.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) by the Command's Spokesperson, ASP Abutu Sunday stated that, "The attention of the Ekiti State Police Command has been drawn to a news trending on the social media since on the 28/12/2021 with the caption: "POLICE PATROL VAN CHASING YAHOO BOYS CRUSH POLICEMAN TO DEATH IN EKITI"."

According to Abutu, "The Command observed that the said story was actually fabricated by SaharaRepoters and spread on other social media platforms."

"In view of the above, the Ekiti State police Command implores members of the public to disregard the news as it was not true but falsely fabricated to ridicule and dent the image of the Ekiti State Police Command and the Nigeria Police Force at large."

"The Command wishes to state clearly that:
On the 28/12/2021 at about 18:30hrs, a distress call was received from the DPO IKOLE-EKITI by the Rapid Response Squad(RRS) for reinforcement for the possible arrest of some suspected cultists who have been terrorising the people of Ikole-Ekiti and it's environs."

Upon the receipt of the report, the RRS Commander deployed three patrol vehicles with adequate operatives to that axis for the operation.

Unfortunately, while on their way, one of the three patrol vehicles developed a mechanical fault, went off its lane and hit an oncoming motorcycle riden by a policeman who had closed from work and was returning home.

The Policeman was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor while eight other RRS operatives in the patrol vehicle sustained different degrees of injuries and are currently in the hospital receiving medical attention.

In view of this, the Ekiti State Police Command is at loss at the mental status of the Sahara reporter that propagated the fake news.

The reporter(from Sahara) did not patiently and professionally confirm the story but shamelessly chose to disrespect the life of the policeman that was lost while on national assignment. SaharaRepoters' action is very disgraceful, unfortunate, ungodly, inhuman and not inline with the practice of good journalism.

10. Members of the public are therefore, enjoined to disregard and discountenance the news and consider it as one of those fake news on the social media that are aimed at causing unnecessary tension, portray the Nigeria Police Force in bad unpleasant garb and procreate an uprise against the force.

11. Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Commissioner, *CP TUNDE MOBAYO,* on behalf of the Command, sympathizes with the family of the deceased Police Officer and pray God grants him eternal rest.

12. The Commissioner has visited the injured police officer in the hospital and will also visit the family house of the deceased ASP in other to sympathize with them.

The Commissioner further warns against the fabrication and spread of fake news and implores everyone to ensure they verify the source of all information they receive especially through the social media before sharing and spreading them.

Lessons from Pastor Sam Oluwatoye of The LORD's Crew (TLC)

By God's grace something will shift for progress in Jesus name for me and everybody reading this post. And it's safe to say that everything and whatever you are praying for falls into this categories because contrary to popular beliefs, man's needs are actually limited to these.

1. Spiritual fulfillment
We all acknowledge there's a force beyond the natural and everyone wants to dig in. We all want to know what will happen tomorrow, why do people die and many more of life's big questions. One way or the other, everybody agrees there is a Supreme Being somewhere overseeing things


Health Fulfillment
Everybody wants good health. You wont know how important good health is until you fall sick. When you see people talking about faith, just pray you are not the one bearing the cross. While very sick and almost dying, Pastor Faith Oyedepo heard that Bishop was nearby and instantly wiped her tears saying "Bishop must not see me crying" but she actually cried. May we enjoy total health restoration all through 2022.

3. Power fulfillment
Its human nature, we all want to be among D main D main, counted among the powerbrokers in society.

4. Relationship Fulfillment
Especially spousal relationship for those not yet married and even those married. It's mainly about having the right one, in life partnership

5. Financial fulfillment
God will bless me abundantly and exceedingly great according to His riches in glory in 2022. Some certain rights and prayer points are because of where you currently are. It's not good to be poor, poverty must die in Jesus name. The code is not to love money, money is to serve us. Understand that when there's money, you get to do much more. Move if you can, every movement brings about a change, even in the Bible, great stories involved God's chosen ones having to move.

I pray for myself and everyone reading this that I and you will move into greater leagues of divine glory and purpose in Jesus name.

Jesus was perceived to be another prophet. And he came to show a way to live to please God.

God had already made His plans known concerning redemption, Jesus mostly spoke in parables, which was to validate the prophecy and it was among His disciples. That way everyone can relate in retrospect.

Continuing an interesting teaching series on Life Principles especially about not having a big mouth in a world filled with enemies, Pastor Sam Oluwatoye of The Lords Crew uses Jesus as case study, in comparison with the true life story of an acquaintance which happened sometime ago. Story goes thus

Local man was fortunate to be relocating to Dubai, so he wasted no time in organizing a massive send forth party, inviting all and sundry just days before his trip. Local man made it to D day, and was soon out of the country. Just two days after landing in Dubai, local man was deported back to Nigeria. So traumatic was the situation that he wouldn't go back to his family house in Sango, instead relocated to the opposite ends of Agege.

Point here is that Jesus knew His mission, but didn't reveal it, even after the devil tempted him after fasting for forty days. Jesus could have chosen to spite the devil by mentioning how he would soon overthrow the devil, but till the end, the devil was ignorant of Jesus's plan. It is not by big mouth, but by result

In the same vein, I remember a story my Mum shared with me about a brother whose wife was not pleased with his decision travel abroad.

"Brother was adamant about traveling but madam was of the opinion that bros should continue to hustle in Naija. Bros decided to leave madam out of the plan and kept processing his travel documents. Travel date came and baba was on the flight to US, when he decided to take a short nap.

On waking up, baba noticed a shoe was missing off his foot, but the other foot was on, after much questions and drama onboard, no one knew where the shoe disappeared to. Fast forward to landing, bros didn't make it past immigrations as he was quickly deemed mentally unfit and instantly deported back to Nigeria.

Through both cases, I am totally convinced that only God fit save man from all his enemies, especially those of his own household and Jesus is Heavens Chief Agent, similar to a divine James Bond. God gave me more understanding of Pastor Sam's point that "until you have enemies, you cant have friends" and "in quietness lies your strength" Let all things be done in moderation. If anybody should have made noise in this life, it should have been Jesus.

Pagan holiday or not, a Big round of applause for God the Master Planner and Jesus the Undercover Boss. As for those who know their God- Yahweh, and truly accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will flourish and do exploits.

When it comes to God there are principles, hence repeat these
1. I will not die

2. I will not lack any good thing (anything I lack is not yet a good thing for me)

From humble beginnings of glorifying God by encouraging and investing in young talents, to currently working at having a large dance and creative Hall to expand the vision; which includes reaching out to kids on the street, Beatrix Academy is gradually transforming to a platform to showcase their light to the world through several creative enterprises like using raw materials to craft items and operating a manual sewing machine to sew side bags, skirts, zara caps, also making hair ruffle, Alice bands, wrist bands of various designs.

All glory be to God almighty, for the season of Jesus Christ is giving the world many reasons to celebrate, especially everyone at Beatrixx Dance Academy. A local organization dedicated to grooming gifted kids in the areas of arts and crafts, skating and hoover board training, along with dance and gymnastics. They commemorated their first year of operations with a Christmas variety on Sunday, 19th of December 2021 at 25, Ola Williams Kayfarm estate, Obawole iju Ishaga.

Anuoluwapo Betty Adeosun, who founded Beatrixx Dance Academy in April 2021, said the beginning was initially challenging, considering the resources that were needed for effective trainings, but so far God has been faithful.

"Watching them perform on stage with big artistes and seeing the impact has been fufiling despite all challenges. There are some parents who really wish their kids could participate but are not financially okay, I accept them for free for the sake of vision"

The Christmas party featured more than 10 performers, ranging between the age of 3 to teenagers, and featuring various applaudable presentations by Academy members of different age groups, especially in areas of Ballet, ballroom, Gymnastics, Afro hip hop and cheerleading. The evening also featured recitations by some of Beatrixx's "elite" students, who divided their attention between joint choreography, miming and recitals.

During a brief chat with journalists concerning his relationship with the academy, Environmental Scientist and social commentator with a burning passion for God, Dr. Benard Omoyeni, also shared a gesture of goodwill
"The performance of today is product of a combination of talent and training. This area of art is not common in Nigeria, we see this kind of acrobatic and gymnastic displays at the olympic grounds, now we have this rare display of skills at our door step. I see Beatrixs Academy going places pioneering the development of a field of entertainment in Nigeria.
