"I started selling books and newspapers in 2014, mainly because they work hand in hand as pathways to wisdom, knowledge and ideas, but nowadays, only people who really know the value buy books at whatever cost. I've been having it rough since this new administration. When Goodluck was president, the least I made in a day was N15k, but today I make less than N3,500 a day. I'm not happy, but I don't let that weigh me down. Although people are hungry, but there are still people who can spend their whole day reading without eating, I am an example. I read a lot because I believe so much in wisdom. Wisdom is life. I have my personal library of life-changing books which I want my children to read and practice when they grow up so they can have a brighter future and do things I've not been able to do in my lifetime.
I started this business two years after my NYSC as a result of unemployment. I had to move from my base in Ebonyi to Lagos in search of greener pastures. My capital was N20,000 and I shared with a friend for about a year. But today, I'm thankful because I have an apartment of my own here in Lagos, built a house of my own in my home town and a family of 2 kids which I cater for."

"Five years ago, before I ventured into the business of selling eggs, I was into making of drums, using factory waste products. Yoruba's call it 'ajagbandu'. Then everything changed when my husband fell seriously ill. I had to spend all my savings from the business on his hospital bills so he could be well again. After his recovery, he completed the house he had been building before the illness and was set to move in without me and our 3 kids. I begged him to allow us join him, but he refused. He never told me what I did wrong. He just decided to move into the new house with a new wife. This was really hard to accept, but I eventually accepted the reality and focused on taking care of my children. The struggles of a single mother have seen me take loans to cater for my children and their education. But I'm happy and thankful to God because we have been surviving even without a husband/father figure. Two of my children are curently in university while the third is in a private secondary school. My older two girls in university are well behaved, but I'm praying God touches the heart of my only son whose behavior is becoming worrisome."

"My name is Felix and this is my third year in accessories business. I moved to Lagos last year after I finished secondary school and I’ve been managing this hustle to save up for university. As soon as I raise N200k, I will go back to Ebonyi state, begin the registration process and keep returning to Lagos during the holidays to hustle for the next semester because there is really nobody to assist. I’m currently living with someone in the 'ocean of the earth', awaiting God’s will and blessings. I started this business while in secondary school on a small scale with N36k but a bigger scale might cost up to N800k."

"I come from a poor family. Okay let me say average family because there's really no poor family. I graduated late from secondary school in 2008 and I was unable to further my education because there was no sponsor. Not that my family didn't want to help, they just did not have the capacity. I had to work in Chinese factories like Wahum to earn a living and save up for university, but it didn't go smoothly because the money I was being paid was little, compared to the daily stress. So one day in 2015, my uncle sat me down and adviced me to learn a skill. I was already a grown man at the time so I didn't want to learn a skill that will take me 5-6 years so I settled for phone engineering which took me a year to learn. That has been my best move so far because now I live in an apartment of my own and I'm running a degree course in National Open University. I'm currently engaged and I've already programmed my life that I will graduate in year 2020, get married and leave the country to join my sister who is now based in the US."

LiteratureThe Tryst: SNLV - SN Bleep by DejiPlug(op): 1:30am On Sep 03, 2019
A Story By Obasa Olatunbosun

Note:
1. Its just a wild imaginative story with no scientific or religious backing.
2. Adult content. If there was an SNLV indicator, this would be SN x 10
----

Brother James was enjoying a tryst with Sis Judith of the Good Women Group of their church when he felt something grab his penis. He tried to drag it out but all his efforts turned out to be futile.

Brother James was a twenty-seven-year-old Keke Napep rider who was an active church goer but did not belong to any group in church with his excuse being; "my work is always tasking and I have responsibilities to take care of."

What nobody knew was that "Brother James was a playboy that bedded any thing that resembled a hole in a skirt and swung its backside. He had slept with almost all the ladies in the church and the married women that still had good looks were not left out.

Truth be told, Brother James was good looking. He had a handsome face, beautiful light skin, a muscular build and a great sense of humour. His friends used to taunt him that he could charm his way into Mother Theresa's loins.

Sister Judith on the other hand was a very homely woman of about thirty-five years of age. She had four kids with her firstborn about fifteen years old. She was inexperienced in the art of sex until she met the man who would eventually be her baby daddy as there was no formal union between them as she got pregnant for him after her first time tasting the forbidden fruit.

With the number of children she had birthed, she still maintained a very beautiful body and a very trimmed shape. What her "husband" did not realise was that he should have left her a virgin but on breaking the seal, he freed a monster that could only be placated by endless sessions of sex. He enjoyed it at first but along the line, he grew tired to the extent that he would skip coming back home at night because he knew he did not have enough strength to match her hunger.

Sister Judith became really active in church but her sex life did not wane. She used to find comfort in the arms of her former pastor until he died of stroke. She passed over Brother James's advances because she felt he was inexperienced until she overheard two choristers discussing his prowess in bed.
She called him up one night and went straight to the point
"James, do you think you can satisfy me?"
"Sister Judith, I do not do the talking, junior does."

Their first three trysts ended with Sister Judith conceding defeat then she tried gaining ground but she could only break even. She snuck out of the house at every chance she got to meet her cornucopia of good sex and Brother James never disappointed her.

On this fateful day, her husband went on a business trip so she spiked her drink with aphrodisiac before going for their usual tryst. They had gone on for hours then suddenly the hard rod got stuck. They tried in futility to break free of each other and the fees they paid for the guest room was running out.

It eventually ran out and the a member of the hotel staff came to bang on the door to the room they paid for but they could only hear grunts and moans so they figured it must still be the pleasure that was still flowing. The worker called others and they placed their ears to the door eavesdropping on what was transpiring in the room.

Suddenly there was a loud shout; it was Sister Judith's voice emphatically crying for help. The hotel workers scampered back to their workstations while the receptionist was saddled with the responsibility to call the attention of the manager to the scenario on ground.

He barged into the manager's office without knocking but what he saw in there knocked the air out of his windbad. Idayat, a kitchen staff who he had fallen in love with was topless and braless on the table with her skirt rolled up above her buttocks while the manager was panting and sweating and it was obvious that he was still in her. This was the same Idayat that he had given half his salary to for six months despite the fact that she earned more than he did.
"What is your problem, how manybtimes have I told you not to barge into my office again?"
"I'm sorry sir..... Emergency..... Room 29."

Immediately, the manager unmounted Idayat and the receptionist could see why she preffered the Manager to him. They ran to room 29 after pounding on the door severally and there was no response, the manager used a key from the bunch he carried around to open the door. They saw both partners still conjoined but they had covered themselves with a bedsheet.

They moved them outside and then to a babalawo. The babalawo asked the other parties to stay outside while he did what he could do. He put two pieces of alligator pepper in his mouth, chewed them, turned a mouthful of schnapps, gargled it then spat the whole thing on the spot of conjoining while he recited incantations.

Sister Judith screamed out loud as a result of the burning sensation the alligator pepper gave her. Eventually, he were unsuccessful with his operations. They were moved to a church, coincidentally, they were having a deliverance program. On seeing what was coming, the pastor excused his wife and himself along with Sister Ruth to attend to the special case in the "power room".

The pastor asked that the bedsheet be removed from them so he could channel his power where it should be but he didn't bargain for what he saw next. He saw a cleanly shaved pubic region and he could feel a warm sliver in his suit trousers and he imagined the forest that his wife carried in her own nether region and the view alone turned him off. Due to her cantankerous nature, he could not suggest that she shaved it because it would cause another tirade and she would accuse him of sleeping with younger girls who shaved theirs and that was why he no longer found hers appealing.

She would be right on all count but that was not his main concern at the moment. What he was concerned about was getting down with this fair woman with two pairs of pink lips.

What was going on through the Pastor's wife's mind was something else. She could see the width of the man trapped inside Sis Judith and she imagined having him inside her for just one night and she would die in peace. They started praying but they had one eye on the point of conjoining.

Sister Ruth's mind flashed back to the pinky sized manhood that her husband carried about but made up for in beating her whenever she erred. She could not cheat and she always blamed herself. After spending all her years in school jumping from one man to another, she had to settle for the guy that would buy her bullshit of no sex before marriage. She was all smiles during the wedding but the universe played a fast one on her by giving her a carrot to fill her pumpkin sized hole.

They prayed and prayed but there was no demon to be cast out. The pastor had thought that this was his opportunity to hug the limelight but it was not, it was just a reality check for the three of them and the image they saw that day did not leave them for quite some time.

Eventually, they were taken to the hospital where the doctor gave Sister Judith a muscle relaxant injection and seconds later, Brother James's penis fell out without further stress.

"My name is Oshodi Rashidat while the name of my outfit is Lady Rashisco Cobbler. I grew up in Ajegunle and I've been in the shoemaking business for up to 10 years. I used to be a palm oil trader but later realized the need to learn a vocation which prompted me to join the shoes trade and because I've always wanted to do something different from other females, I learned to make men’s shoes. Handwork usually doesn’t require much capital so I learnt the trade for 3 years, not including the 10 years I've been my own boss. I've been coping well, considering it’s a male dominated trade, but many people admire that fact and like me even more, especially my customers. My husband has been supportive and I'm happy I can assist in providing for our family of 3 children. Although my husband is a civil servant but I don't rely on him. I get things done in the house without waiting for him to drop money. Although no car or house yet but we are comfortable. I like everything about this business, even my children come to assist and learn after school hours, I teach them so that when they get to university, they won't need to wait for me to send money or depend on boyfriend before they can buy things. My big plan now is to start bringing in shoe materials from Aba and sell to cobblers around, since I don't have money to travel abroad yet. From there, I hope to make enough money to open a shoe making company, employ staffs, train them and begin mass production."

"Right from childhood, I have always wanted to be an educated business man. But when my parents died, I knew education was going to be difficult. I lost my dad when I was 4 years old and by 12, my mother was gone too. I lived with my aunt till I completed secondary school, then I left to find my way. I learned boutique business for 3 years but I've not been able to establish myself properly. It's the little money (tips) from customers I saved while learning that I used in starting here. My girlfriend who I intend to marry also assisted me financially. I tell whoever cares to listen that if your parents don’t have money, just fix yourself somewhere and believe from there, you will be somebody. That is my story and although the money is not rolling in yet, I thank God for where I am today. I still have dreams of becoming a big business man and I hope God will see me through."

I learned Barbing profession while in secondary school back home in Osun state, but I have been in Lagos since last December, hustling for money for freedom. My family does not have much and I didn't want to wait for them so I decided to fend for myself. I came to Lagos with a friend who was already into the business and we both live inside the ice cream company. Out of N50k which my Oga requested for, I've gathered N30k. I will return home after Ileya celebration when the money is complete."

MSS: Do you have plans to further your education beyond secondary school?

"No I don't intend to further school. I already have a skill (Barbing) that I can make money from. I see school as liability. It will not give me money, it will only collect the little I have."

"Unlike some sellers, all my fruits are from South Africa, so no risk of adulterated or substandard produce. Most sellers get their stock from China, and over there, they ordinarily grow for their own consumption. It is the excess or substandard remnants that fellow Nigerians pick, package and ship back home. Nowadays people spray tint apples to make it top red. Although God is watching but still, be careful so you don't buy yourself poison. That's why I tell people not to bicker when it comes to paying for quality produce. For example, if exposed to heat during transit, the fruits begin to spoil but some Nigerians will still polish them using tissue paper and sell them at extremely low wholesale/ retail prices to those who sell on express/ highways.
I was formerly based in Oyo, where I used to control hundreds of thousands Naira in egg shipment business from Oyo to the North. I had to stop and relocate to Lagos after my wedding because the travels would constantly keep me from my husband, which I don't think is proper."

"Newspaper selling business isn't what it used to be. When I started in 1966, after the first military coup in Nigeria, I used to have many customers including ministries and companies that I supply papers. But now when I show up with newspapers, they say they have already read news on their phones. I used to make more than 100 supplies in a day but now I have less than 5, which doesn’t even cover my transport fare. I am just managing. Because of internet, many of the people I usually supply have stopped their subscription. I’m just waiting for some money from my son abroad so I can settle my debts at the office and then stop the business because it is not paying me. Although the business has helped me a lot in the past when it was booming; I married, had children and maintained my family but it is not so anymore. Once my son sends the money, I will either set up a business or go back to my hometown in Imo State to resume farming."

I used to make plenty sales from this business but my husband helped squander almost everything. My husband later left me and two kids because I was making more money than he was. His family claimed I used his destiny. He left me after wasting my N4million; I got him a car and two landed properties just so he can stand on his own. All of these cannot be accounted for till date. We were both in Lagos earlier before he ran back to his hometown when things got rough and then returned when he observed my progress. "I come from a small town around the Semé border. My twin sister died while we were still babies and I’ve never met my mother before. There are stories that she left to avoid attacks from my father’s older wife. After a tragedy back in my hometown in 2004, I was very happy to move in with relatives in Lagos, despite my father’s reluctance. And after much persuasion, my dad eventually agreed on condition that I resume schooling in Lagos because I was extremely brilliant back home, but that wasn’t meant to be as I ended up being a full time apprentice at my uncle’s vulcanizer workshop.

I always begged him to let me go to school like his 4 well educated kids do. He refused and when I registered for evening classes, he beat me and forced me to stop that very day. Then in 2008, I suffered severe burns on my body, while fixing a customer’s tyres. Though it healed after a couple of months but the scars still remain. When the government began a campaign against kids loitering during school hours, I hoped and prayed to get picked up so my guardian would be warned but that never happened. That was when I accepted what will be.
Then came 2015, I had my freedom, moved in with a few friends, engaged in contributions and began hustling so as to quickly establish myself. I went through a lot; from the hardships life already dealt me, to close friends subjecting me to hell and another accident after falling off my commercial motorcycle due to exhaustion.

I’ve seen great opportunities pass by because of my poor level of education, which is why I strongly advise parents against being far from their kids, no matter the situation. I tried reconnecting with my mother last year but it was unsuccessful."

"Something happened to me recently, One of my regular customers, a politician, came to me and requested for my O' level result. He likes how hardworking I am and the manner in which I converse with him so he wanted to help. He said he was given 100 slots to fill with candidates of his choice for an opportunity to work in an oil company in Abuja. He even promised to put me in top 5 on the list. He liked me that much. But I felt so ashamed to tell him i did not have any O' level result. The last I had been to school was primary 4, in a French speaking school. I missed a big opportunity all because I wasn't educated and there is nothing I could have done about it."
