PoliticsRe: FG Orders Issuance Of Single Identification Numbers For Citizens by DelGardo: 11:18am On Dec 22, 2015
Tequilah:
Nah... you are the one that needs to think deeply. sad Did you see the word 'everybody' in any part of my post? Let them use the numbers on the National ID Card as a unique identifier. What else do they need another new set of unique identification numbers for?? shocked Why do we like wasting money, time and resources in this country to duplicate efforts and run around in circles?? Chai!

Finally, nobody hates PMB, as there was nothing about PMB in my post. So please swerve, and go and get some sense! angry
You have been jumping up and down this thread exposing your frustration with good news.

- Did they say issue a new card?
- Will this directive stop them from agreeing on the use of National ID card number that you have suggested?
- If they do not make an effort to bring it all together how can all the different entities or parastatals collaborate to decide which of the numbers that should be adopted?
- Will this not stop periodic biometric registration exercises and support a common platform?

Most people have asked for a harmonized way of registering Nigerians as well as a single repository/database, to stop government agencies from coming up with different confusing schemes to line their pockets. Now the move is underway and you are complaining.

You are sick. The murder of over 100 people is trivial. No wonder the world treats Nigerians and its citizens as trash that don't deserve to live among civilized people of other nations.
Was this not one of the things GEJ was accused off, the disappearance of the chibok girls and the government's deafening silence.
Nothing can justify the killing of unarmed civies. I support a judicial review to identify the culprits and have them face justice.

Having said that I wish to point out that this issue is not similar to the Chibok reaction in the manner you painted it.

When Chibok girls were kidnapped the government denied the incident for over 3 weeks. Their response was horrid because the case was an abduction and quick response was not supposed to be a matter of choice. It was imperative!
On the Zaria incident, the presidency can afford to confirm the true state of things and evaluate the sort of federal response required before making an official statement. But they have not denied that it happened. That's another improvement over Chibok response.

Your guy - Goodluck - was clueless simples. Don't drag other people down with him pls.

I support your proposition, OP.

Most of us have lost a substantial measure of decency occssioned by severe bad governance and disappearing values. The societal decay is deep and uncivilized disposition towards the dead, which one sees within the Nigeria cyber community, is just a sign of this decay.

PoliticsRe: Breaking!! No Fuel Subsidy In 2016 - Federal Government!! by DelGardo: 8:04am On Dec 13, 2015
Sweetguy25:
He dare not. . . The same excuses Nigerians gave against the removal of subsidy in 2012 still stands. There are no palliatives to cushion the effects of subsidy removal, its even worse now. Nigerians are now poorer, there is less liquidity in the economy and it is extremely to get foreign exchange. Deregulating the downstream sector will bring untold hardship to Nigerians.

We will protest!!
The 2016 budget provides for monthly stipends to most vulnerable Nigeirans. That's a major paliative measure.

Nigerians protested in 2012 because (as HighQue007 captured so well up there) they did not trust Jonathan, and current revelations on the wanton stealing he supervised indicates that the mistrust was justifiable.

After the partial removal of subsidy in 2012 Jonathan and his cohorts purchased about 1000 buses as a direct palliative intervention. That is less than 2 buses per local government! How does that ameliorate th suffering of the masses. Then there was Sure-P, which ended up being another controversial drain pipe.

Nevertheless you cannot prescribe the same medicine for malaria and cancer. The situation in 2012 and now are different. Oil revenue is down, we have a sincere president and even consumer product price levels have adjusted to a N140/ltr regime. Now most people will support subsidy removal. It has nothing to do with APC and PDP.

Let me break this to you. Buhari is more interested in finding oil in Lake Chad (read the 2016 budget) - he allocated almost N30 billion for just that. Get that budget & look for the allocations to the South East, there is nothing.

PoliticsRe: 2016 Budget: FG Votes N500b For Social Welfare by DelGardo: 12:06am On Dec 09, 2015
It took a little over one month to produce a plan of such quality. We had PDP wrecking gang for over 16 years, of which the last 5 was a looting fest of acute cluelessness.. in 16 years they could not produce such a SMART plan.

Implementation? For where. Over $20 billion spent on power, a lot of motion and talk, blame throwing and disclaimers yet less that 600mw was added. For the mathematicians in the house that translates to a return of about 30mw for every $1 spent on power! Compare that international rule of thumb of about 1,000mw per billion dollars investment.

We told you guys over 6 months ago that the change is real.

PoliticsRe: To My Igbo Brothers And Sisters!!! by DelGardo: 6:15am On Dec 06, 2015
VANHELLSING:
Every tom, dicck, and harry has suddenly become an expert and advisers in the affairs of biafrans. To u, the ignorant advisor, biafrans already know that actualising the republic of Igboland is not an end to all our innumerable problems, rather a bold step in tackling them head long as one people with one goal and one aspiration.
Every new nation will face a lot of challenges, biafra will not be an exemption, but with time everything will fall into place.
The pathetic reason some of u guys keep shurning out for igbos to jettison the biafran aspiration is lame untangible, the lack of development, bad leadership, hatred, wickedness, the unruly soldiers u mention are all product of Dysfunctional Nigeria society, a product is as good as it producer. A battered nigerian society cannot produce anything good, it's garbage in garbage out.

Finally, biafran agitators are not calling for war but peaceful separation from Nigeria and it is not by force to be a biafran or identify with them. Everyone is free to pay his allegiance to whichever country he reside or like, there are many igbo/nigerians who are British and American nationals. Many igbos fought on the side of Nigeria during the civil war, it's ur choice.

"Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable"
The agitators can agitate for as long as they like. They should take their protest to Aso Rock gate and stop disturbing innocent citizens who are looking for something to take care of their families.

As my forefathers said in their wisdom "ubosi nta a chuo n'owerre nchi". You people (who are really a very noisy minority) should know that ukpana okpoko gburu bu nti chiri ya.

Benoxvals:
Imagine the entire African continent sucking up to just one country(china).
Important meetings are no longer held in Nigeria and even important dignitaries don't show up anymore..
What is "sucking up" I this sense? Your posture is one of the reasons Africa is so behind. At least 80% of Africa imports are from China, which means China is the most important country to Africa in terms of trade.

China is awash with liquidity and is seeking investment opportunities to boost her slowing economy. This meeting is as important to China as it is to Africa. China is also bigger than Africa in every sense except land mass. So there is nothing to ego-trip about. What you want to see, as an African, is a reversal of positions in the next say 50 years when Africa would have taken over from China as the industrial hub of the world. For now it is what it is.

I am happy with the new wave of leaders in Africa starting with my Nigeria (I am a Biafran btw grin) and extending to countries like Ghana (in terms of stability), Tanzania (from what we hear), Botswana, Mozambique etc. South Africa will join soon if they can take care of "Mr machine gun".

it is also ok to host outside Naija because we cannot afford any jamborees at the moment. So, stop the negativity.

GEJ army recovered new weapons but...

- lost Nigerian territory estimated to be about the size of Belgium,
- Soldiers ran to the open arms of Cameroonian citizens for cover
- Planes and helicopters were falling up and down.. many with dollars inside
- Civilian JTF were doing all the chasing of retreating BH members
- Buni Yadi boys were murdered and Chibok girls were kidnapped
- Chadian soldiers were fighting deep in Nigeria territory while our generals were chilling in Abuja squabbling over who should take credit.

Hold on to your pictures... we need victory.

Am a staunch buhari supporter and Agent of change,he should stop all these stupidity and fixed the economy of the nation.

How much is returned ?,how much do we have now?
He should do the needful, all we wants is things done, not excuse,he's the father of the nations,he should know, father provides for his kids, the kids don't want excuse,if there is money or not, what we want is provide and do the needful
Pray what is stupidity in telling Nigerians in Iran that corruption is no longer way of life in the presidency unlike in the past, and that effort is being made to recover stolen funds? How do you fix an economy in a few weeks? where have you seen Buhari making excuses? The fact that kids don't want excuses does not mean that all is well with their father... it also does not mean that his not working hard enough.

In October you said "Lot of opinions been shared about the senate president been witch hunted, also the president already distance himself from the whole brouhaha,mr president should know that we are watching, studying all the event,we will not welcome any discrepancy,he should get his priority right, the fight on corruption is a most win, with no respect to any tribe, ethnics and religion affiliation, corruption is the reason why we are at this level today." now you consider the fight against corruption as "giving excuses".

If you truly supported Buhari then you really have no idea why you did. Please join the wailers already.

Did you read about this loggerhead or you had any evidence that they had one? When Dasuki himself dismissed such talk recently in an interview that that wasn't the case.
Or do you know more than Dasuki about this loggerhead?
So funny... I like the way you have used "loggerhead".

If Buhari were to have a grudge for being under house arrest it would most likely be against Babangida, who also had him incarcerated for years. As a soldier he would have known that Dasuki was merely "obeying the last order".

The fact that PMB divorced his first wife because of her appeals to IBB to release him suggests that he must have felt hard done by. Yet he has not made a move against IBB. I don't believe he is vindictive and I also can't see how he will elect to take it all out on Dasuki.

Everything suggests that Dasuki was heavily compromised in the Boko Haram movement.

A lot of things are shocking about Nigeria and the extent to which we under-utilise our natural endowment which are some of the richest deposits in the world. My brother it is very frustrating and we should not continue like this as you conclude. I think I even read somewhere where an economist argued that Nigeria is the richest nation in the world in terms of its natural endowment. Arable soil, virtually 24/7 sunshine, crude oil, solid minerals et al. Fayemi must not fail. This is simply too frustrating and we have no business living like this at all.

Not quite @ bolded. You may find that the most endowed country in the world is Congo. And they have never known peace. There is a clearly link between abundance of natural resources/endowmants and chaos.

But I agree with you completely.

PoliticsRe: Why Is President Buhari Not Talking About The Missing Chibok School Girls? by DelGardo: 4:02pm On Nov 14, 2015
dewstar:
For most of them now, their gigantic ego won't let them accept the truth now. Example is that omenka of a guy, he has been so silent these day, God knows why.
One day you will understand that it is almost impossible to find the missing girls after the initial denial and 3wks of inaction by Goodluck. Reaction in the first few hours after a kidnap is vital.

That was one of his many failures and evidence of stark incompetence. Even if Buhari does not find them, it must never be misconstrued to mean that the girls were never kidnapped.

You can see the difference in approach between Buhari and Jonathan when you consider handling of IPOB and Boko Haram respectively. While PDP officially attributes BH to enemies, Buhari and APC (depending on how they feel on the day) without any shred of evidence, APC, on the other hand is yet to declare IPOB as the handiwork of bitter PDP losers, which they are.

They have gone ahead to deal with the problem as any responsible government should. If only PDP had arrested Yusuf and charged him to court like APC did to Kanu, we might not have seen BH transform from a religious sect to a terror organization. If only Goodluck had the balls or intelligence to go after the sponsors of BH we would have been in a different situation.

He merely saw BH as an opportunity to bury Buhari by labeling him an extremist and largely did nothing when action was required. It back-fired so badly!
