=================================

The Account Closing Option should be in a form of deactivate, in which you can later activate. Am pretty sure Seun is not going to do the Permanent Account Closing feature because of some security issues. Web Developers understand better.

The Flash Feature can be Optional, most ppl surf from Mobile, and here in Nigeria, the Internet Speed can't be compared with Yankees own. So i dont see Seun improving the Graphics. Besides he can make it optional, and make this Lite Version as default.

Profile Photo beside Forum Name in threads?? Hell No!! I trust my Naija Folks, they going to misuse it with Crazy/Ditry pictures. And Moderators are going to get another Boring Task by banning Users with inappropriate photo.

Seun can change the color combination of the hyper-links though.

andyanders: If you like, share am with cutlass, you must still visit bank or atm to cash the money. Useless service. A guy posted here how his account was compromised and over 4 million stolen from his account and you are here supporting something that will be compromised with time.
See this Andy Okereke...so tell me pls, what services isnt available online now? Recharging, shopping, banking, voting, etc...WU is a do-it-yourself- everywhere in the world except Nigeria. I send WU from my room, and nothing has happened to me all these years. Even before online banking was introduced, people still find a way to hack into other people's accounts to steal money....so dont use that as an excuse. Go and queue in the bank for 5hours just to cash N700...little wonder you are very productive with your time...So, Oga, YOU MUST NOT VISIT ATM or BANK to CASH MONEY, unless na inside tree you dey live.

babaowo: ..pls must someone call gtb before they can confirm wu into my internet banking? I think it suppose credit your account once you send it from abroad ? Pls enlight me more brov, thanks.
No, you dont have to call them if you have set up the service on your internet banking page. I called them because when I WU my pal in lag and he couldnt cash it because he was told to open an internet banking whatever, he told me about it. So reasoning that since I have internet services, whatever they wanted me to do online would be easier, so I called them to know what was going on. that was when the guy told me I could deposit the money in my own account if I had an online banking system. so i added the service (i.e WU) on my internet page and alas! I deposited my own WU into my own account! Cheesy! So now, could easily send WU to Nigeria (i.e to myself) and I will pay it tinto my account without telling anybody to go cash it...

sheymoni: Go get urself a First bank account. It's the best when it comes to western union
Na wah o. So for WU, you open FirstBank,; for good savings acct services, you open gtbank; for current acct services, zenith bank; fir dorm acct, wema bank. WtF is wrong with peeps and stepping up? Internet banking is d easiest service I v seen in a long while. I haven't had a problem with it in years. Everyone uses it. If u can operate Facebook, Twitter, naira land and co, then Internet banking shouldn't be hard. So if eventually all the banks switch to Internet services for WU, sey na AB Micro-finance bank you go switch to? Calling them, even from abroad is super easy, sending money to other banks is a piece of cake, depositing WU into ur own acct is like ABC...people don't queue at banks anymore. even 80yo women do Internet banking on their phones, pads, etc how much more young, vibrant and Internet savvy dudes like you nairaland bad belles? undecided

internet banking is a good idea & go for it if you so desire to bank with them.
Overrated bank undecided
It becomes over rated because you don't want to upgrade. GTbank is d only Nigerian bank that tends to match the kind of services provided by the western world. Over a long period, I sent western union to Naija but clearing it had always been a problem even for my cousins who work in d bank. Its super easy now. Send western to ur self from abroad n deposit the money you sent into your own acct! Easy cheesy! Last week, I sent some kishi to my pal on Lag but he couldn't cash it...the wa hala was terribly much. then I called Gtbank n in 5mins, I deposited the cash into my own gtbank and then shared the money via fx-transfer to other banks. All within 10mins on my iPad. Ain't that easy? Ain't that super? You guys prefer to go and queue for 8hrs in the bank just to cash 2k. Smh. Wake up and embrace innovation. Happy banking!

I think he is just a fortunate guy...I don't particularly like his play style...too sluggish and sometimes out of ideas...thats why young lads like Ibrahim sterling, Allen and co could bench him at Liverpool...i have tweeted about it on several occasions that dude always seem short of ideas when on the ball, no pace, and way too sluggish for top flight English football. if care is not taken, he might find his way back to Wigan or worse. I just invited him now to check this nairaland discussion about him on twitter...Pretty sure he'll get the message loud and clear and step up his game. We want him to excel and keep ding us proud...Suarez is not a demon, he is a human like every other player...Moses could be like him or even better (In my dreams grin)

and as for the comparison of federal and private university graduate i think that is an individual thing.
Personal i think private uni should stop summer class (I know NUC has directed them to stop it but not sure they... )
The summer classes is a scam...its like running 3 terms in one academic calender so those who failed during the normal semester could come and re-take those papers (and pass compulsorily) after paying heavily for each of the failed courses. Isnt that an institutionalized scam?!

Lyoncrescent: 1. Lecturers in Public Universities collect bribe too and they sleep with female lecturers.

2. I don't get what u mean by world recognition cos as far as rankings go, u don't wanna go there.

3. Give it time, babcock for example has been churning out graduates for the last 10 years since 2003. I judge a uni by quality of its alumni. All those research stuff are bogus. If you look around you, there's a private uni graduate going places.
4. You don't wanna get me started on d subsidy thing again. What if I told that d school fees of each unilag student would amount to 350k without governments subsidy ?

5. If there is enough money, I don't mind the subsidy of public unis. But there is a trade off. Public primary and secondary schools are being igonored. GEJ opened 9 new unis, when did any federal or state government open a new primary or secondary uni ? Why can't there be free feeding in primary schools ? Would u send ur child to a public primary school ? The foundation is key.

That's my final and humble opinion.
I respect your view.
Like I said, create a topic based on that (to bring your total topics to 2)...I think we'll all learn a lot (and much more) from the contributions of others.
And as a parting gift, here is a link to one of your very expensive private universities abroad (Ghana)... https://www.nairaland.com/1562398/nigerian-students-study-one-block-portakabin

Lyoncrescent: Yes you pay taxes but University isn't meant for everybody. If you wanna go to harvard , you think the US government is gonna say because its citizens pay tax it should kill itself and make it cheap for everyone ? I don't see why the endowment tactic and scholarship schemes employed in other unis over d world can't be employed here. Secondly, awolowo was excellent at subsidizing education from d root. How many of us here would truly send our children to a public primary school today? When last did the FG establish a secondary school ? All attention is going to the money gulping university system and people are coming here to brag about cheap school fees not knowing the Government is paying over d odds just to meet up. If there's anything that needs subsidizing cos u pay taxes, its d primary and secondary schools simply because every child must have QUALITY primary and secondary education. Many succesful people in naija on d other hand didn't even go to uni.

Those western leaders championed not just free education but quality education. What you have now is almost free cos u pay peanuts but definitely not quality cos if u know how much d government subisdizes it by, u will be shocked.
In response to your position, please see my response to one of your earlier positions. Yoh, I am even more surprised you sort of dont seem to know what you are saying. Would you like to review what you just wrote? The first sentence is kinda logically inconsistent...
EducationRe: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by delors(m): 6:04pm On Dec 22, 2013
Lyoncrescent: Sighs.

Not Again. So the fact u pay 35k or 30k in Unilag or OAU, doesn't mean that's worth your education is worth. Now assume there are 20,000 undergraduates in unilag for example paying 30,000 naira annually, that comes to 600 million naira per year making 50 million naira per month.

Do you actually think 50 million is enough to run the university, pay non-academic staff, academic staff, research grants etc ? Don't forget public unis also get also sort of grants such as ETF. Don't forget these public universities have already established structures unlike their private counterparts which are constantly building and improving. If you look @ it critically, the government is subsidizing public university education heavily. If you went to a public university, u were on scholarship by d government cos ur school fees is chicken change.

Quality is Relative. I can tell you private university graduates are having d upper hand. Especially with all dis employers now placing age caps for employment. An average private uni graduate is 22 and has a 2:1 and at 22 has completed nysc.

Education is meant to be relevant not difficult and private unis are getting it right.
Your view is debatable. I 'll suggest you post it as a topic on NL some time. The fact that you finished from an expensive university doesnt mean the knowledge you acquired is more expensive than the guy who finished from a government funded university. In terms of the quality of research, it is not debatable that the public unis over-surpass the private ones. Comparing a university like Caleb to (not with) say, LASU is an embarrassment. Comparing a uni like Babcock (plus CU combined) to OAU or UI or UNILAG is like trying to determine whether a man is sleeping or dead - big difference.
The lecturers who teach at private unis are more less the ones recruited from public universities or hustlers still trying to get their feet. I can tell you i have seen them and I know the difference. A department head or faculty head at a public university is recruited to a private Uni and he automatically joins the school's senate board. What's that? A school that started yesterday is in no way comparable to a school that has been in existence for over 60 years doing great year in year out.
Private unis are confirmed business centres. No carry overs. Pay the right guy, you pass your failed courses. Students graduate with no real life skills, nothing.
Bros, it is an endless story. If you paid N950k per year for something you could get for as low as N45k with better quality, more world recognition, and with a history of resounding success globally, would you pick the former or the latter? That's a rational judgement challenge, let me know what you think. smiley

mko abiola: But hw true is it dat dey ar offered automatic job(s) afta graduation?
Which I totally argued wit a frend.
What FREAKING automatic job? Please!!!!! Na confirm mirage! I know a guy who finished from Covenant University, he did Info Tech, did well. Guy still dey surulere for Lag now dey manage him papa pure water company fro almost how many years now. Many of them CU grads are everywhere vying for the same starter positions HNDs are applying to.
I mean, after graduation, you wait for a call-up to NYSC which may take forever, and then you serve at God-knows-where. So after service, you go back to the school to tell them say dem owe you a job abi? C'mon, its a decoy. What dey actually wanted to convey is that a cert from their school could land you mouth-watering jobs automatically...That's the selling point. Unfortunately, that BS don't sell in today's labour market unless your papa get biz wey u fit run. And if your papa fit pay N3m year plus other miscellaneous money, then he is sure-footed and job might not necessarily be a big issue after graduation. But that the school automatically offers you a job after grad is a super story.
EducationRe: Most Expensive Private Universities In Nigeria Unveiled by delors(m): 5:40pm On Dec 22, 2013
Lyoncrescent: First class or Third class, we should all belong to the common sense class which I believe no one has a monopoly of.

Your 45k for 4 years was heavily heavily subsidized by the Government. You know what subsidy means right ? In other words, you were on scholarship by the government. I'm quite sure all these 45k school fees for 4 years don't even make up to 10 percent what the education you received is worth. Someone has had to pay for it.
Whats your point flourescent? Why do we have a government? Why do we pay taxes? Why do we have natural resources? I had the best I could ask for in terms of experience, learning and what have you. Over seas, governments heavily subsdize education because it is not meant to be a luxury...if it was, the great leaders of yester-years and today would probably not be called great. If you being an average Nigerian and your papa and mama get like 4 pikins (all things being equal), how exactly would your parents sponsor these kids to school if Babcock, Madonna, etc were the only schools available and the tuition per year is nothing less than N1.5m per head? And say your first born intends to study Medicine, second born Engineering, you Accounting, etc? Did you think about that? Those leaders who championed the cause of free education in the western region had very good, crystal clear reason and vision for championing that cause. I kinda think yours is blurry.
