I recently attended a seminar on Prostrate and Cervical cancer. Surprised to find out that many Nigerians are dying of these two ailments which can be managed if discovered early. Even some kidneys problems are aid to have emanated from prostrate diseases. Can doctors in the house please start a thread to enlighten NLanders on how to prevent/manage these silent killers ? |
Falling in love is easier, you are excited and happy. Falling out comes with a lot of pain, stress and sometimes regrets. |
I am amazed at the sagging, shaking big bellies of todays young ladies considering the fact that many women who are above 40 and have finished child bearing still manage to look good. All that is required is to learn how to hold in your tummy from a young age, eat less junk food but more fruits, veg and local dishes, do basic stomach exercises on a regular basis and avoid greed. Free food shouldnt make you eat recklessly. Big belly before marriage? Really disgusting though good news for DR 90210 et al. |
Marrying out of pity isnt right but believe it or not the law of karma works. It seems the lady never knew that the guy had absolutely no feelings for her, she was just a good girl that fell into wrong hands. Very unfair! He should have ended the relationship as soon as he knew he couldnt marry the "wife material". Anyway, if he dumps her without proper planning, he will have issues arising from caring for the child for a very long time and may affect his marriage to another lady. If he marries her, he risks the possibility of an unhappy marriage. He should quickly consult with his parents for the babys sake. Lesson for our men-- dont bother smelling what you have no plans to eat or protect yourself beyond reasonable doubt! Also be honest with your partners so you wont be living under terrible curses later in life. |
Paraphrase said it all. Get back to your senses fast or you'l be back here giving us some miserable tales later. A wise woman knows the difference between a boyfriend and a husband. A word is enough for the wise. |
Just wondering why many Igbo men are married to Yorubas with all the silly comments. Cleanliness has nothing to do with a tribe but the person and circumstances. Can we say Igbos are dirty because Onitsha and Aba are extremely dirty? We used to say so of Ibadan without thinking of the level of urbanisation and the slow pace of govt plus irresponsible leaders. To the yoruba men on NL who can not stand up for their own, it shows how much love and respect you have for your mothers, sisters and wives. Truly sad! |
First female doctor is Dr Abimbola Awoliyi |

@infiniti Personally, i don't think there are policies that control how many nos of trailer an individual money-bag can buy. One questions that beg for an answer is ''has Dangote or his allies( as he said') ever paid the families of those who died as a result of brake failure of one of those trailers. May be someday i mean one day if such trailer ran into the convoy of a sitting senator, Governor, and their cronies, then such policy will be reviewed. i don't see any solution in the purchase of another 5000 trailer by Dangote, but if such money can be pumped into d Nigerian railway line project, and dangote can partnered some of other money bag, to ensure a public-private partnership railway line, then NIGERIA WILL BE A BETTER PLACE AND OUR ROADS WILL STAND THE TEST OF TIME [i]Agreed. A reliable rail network is what we need to move goods and ensure sanity on our roads. Just last week it was a harrowing experience travelling from Lagos to Ilorin and back. Trailer accidents, roadside parking and their slow movement with little chance of you overtaking in a long while. Eventually slept over in Ibadan when we couldnt get to the toll gate by 9pm tho we arrived Ibadan at 6.45pm cos a trailer toppled over and blocked the road! Now to think of another 5000, are we making progress or dying off slowly? Better rail service is the choice anyday. |
This is really not meant to create an upheaval as it has done. It was created to educate people on how to write Igbo. It is even not much about pronunciation, but writing. Pronunciation is abstract, while writings can be seen. It was not created to force others to call us Igbos. They can call and write Igbo the way the want, especially if they feel they prefer Ibo more than Igbo. The only issue is that, I (Poster) want to make more people to write Igbo, as Igbo. To do this, I will call their ethnic groups names wrongly. If they complain, then I will bring their mistakes to their notice. If they don't care about their ethnic group's name being called wrongly, then there will be no problem. We will keep calling them wrongly. I really don't think that should be a problem @Justcash My dear Igbo brother, like i stated before, educate your people first. If they pronounce Ibo, people are bound to spell it that way. Most people are simply ignorant of the fact. Never mind those NLanders who are just taunting you for the fun of it. I have noted the correct spelling and will surely ask my friends why they call themselves Ibos.Anyway some of us are less bothered about these tribal issues in the face of weightier problems that are inimical to our efforts to move our nation forward and live better lives. Meanwhile have fun with those pulling your legs. |
Whats all this about? Sounds more like the rantings of idle people to me. Strangely all my Igbo friends pronounce Ibo so i am used to that. The correction should start from your own people IMO. Anyways, all this is irrelevant. What we need is good governance to conquer poverty for the majority of our people irrespective of tribe, spellings and pronunciation. The poor have less time to raise dust on minor issues like this. When you know who you are and u are confident in urself, whatever anybody calls you is his headache. |
I find all this tribal yabis very irritating, annoying and childish. I expect more exposure and maturity from Nlanders. Please lets have some sense of decorum. Anyway, I, like many people in my area voted for JEG and now BRF. It didnt matter that we were mostly yorubas. Of course the hausas voted CPC.Please lets have the results and forget these silly battles. Abeg those "warriors" fighting online should go up north to defend the southerners there instead of blasting bombs here. mschew! |
Really sad about whats happening to the corpers and southerners up north. Its truly annoying that some people refuse to train their kids properly only to end up ruining other peoples lives. I pray we dont end up with the Sagamu or Idi-Araba OPC wahala against hausas sometime ago if the situation repeats itself next week. Our northern almajiri brothers should remember that those who seek trouble usually find it. |

@poster You are fishing in troubled waters already. If you are not careful you will get deeply involved since its clear that you have a soft spot for her. You are better off letting sleeping dogs lie. She may just be using you to cool off while having a bad time in her marriage or shes regretting and having "the grass is greener on the other side" mentality. Whichever way i see trouble brewing if you are not careful. By the way are you in a relationship and do you love the person? |
