BusinessRe: Beware Of ATM Card Cloning by Delta007(m): 3:57pm On Feb 25, 2008
It's possible. This scam also exists in N.America where scammers place "Card Strip Readers" on ATM/Interac machines. They usually have a cam (or spy) somewhere to read the PIN. That's all the info they need and voila, they have access to your account. I was once a victim; funny thing was I was out of the country when it occured and I had my card on me.

Business Decision (www.flynaa.com). By the way, the'd stop on May 20 (not in Apr)

North American Airlines to Discontinue International Scheduled Service to Lagos, Accra and Georgetown

Will Redeploy Aircraft into Charter Market

JAMAICA, N.Y. (Feb. 19, 2008) – North American Airlines today announced that it will discontinue scheduled service between the United States and the cities of Lagos, Nigeria; Accra, Ghana; and Georgetown, Guyana. All flights in these markets will be completed by May 20, 2008.

“North American has a long history of serving the New York-Guyana market, and we were the first U.S. airline in decades to fly non-stop service from the United States to sub-Saharan Africa,” said Rob Binns, Chief Commercial and Planning Officer. “We have been pleased that all of these markets have performed on a revenue basis as we anticipated. What now makes these markets untenable is the rising cost of fuel. We have seen our jet fuel costs increase 60 percent since we entered the Africa markets in 2005.

“This was a difficult decision, especially in light of the continuing support we have received from the governments and the traveling public in our Africa markets,” Binns said. “We also have had excellent customer response to our nonstop service between Georgetown and John F. Kennedy International Airport since its inception in 1999, and we regret that economic conditions now force us to bring these flights to an end.”

All customers currently booked on discontinued North American flights will receive a refund for the unused portion of their reservation or may opt to travel on an earlier date. For questions and refunds, contact North American at 1-800-359-6222. In Accra, customers may call 21-911086; in Lagos they may call 271-6380 and in Georgetown, the local phone number is 227-5805. Additional information can also be found on http://www.flynaa.com/.

"North American's modern Boeing 757/767 fleet is in high demand and we will redeploy these aircraft profitably in the charter market," Binns said.

North American Airlines, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Aero Logistics Inc., is a U.S.-certificated air carrier offering air transportation services throughout the world for the U.S. military and commercial customers. Founded in 1989, North American operates a fleet of 10 passenger aircraft.

arsenal4va,

Don't listen to all this other guys wey b say na only moni them know about!

Please can u help out - just bought a 1998 Honda Odyssey and the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on once u start the car, ve taken it to a so called Honda Mech. Who just rest the light - i guess - after driving for like 30mins the comes back on, I believe its a general problem n lots of people would be happy - If u can explain the reason for the light and possible solution.

Thanks a lot,
The light comes on because there's obviously a problem with the vehicle. . .hence the "check engine" light. Resetting the light doesnt fix the problem. Unless the problem is obvious (or is a simple case of oil (filter) change), the only way u can fix the issue is for your mechanic to read/interpret the code and fix the problem otherwise, u'd just be deceiving yourself by resetting the light.

Car TalkRe: Be Careful When Ordering A Car From Overseas by Delta007(m): 8:05pm On Feb 22, 2008
I support you 100%, people should be careful when ordering cars Overseas, Ill advise against any cash payment or deposits before a car is being shipped, However, to be fair to both the prospective 'seller' and buyer, let a trust account be set up with the buyers bank, giving a standing order for the amount agreed to be released upon delivery of the car, Simple, the Onus now lies on the buyer who intends profit to get the car delivered.

there are so many dubious people that uses car sales from overseas to front for their despicable and fraudulent act.

Buyers please be careful.
I'm not fronting for anyone but there are risks associated with any business. I've been involved in buying and selling vehicles in the past. There's nowhere in N.America that they'd release a car to you without you paying for the vehicle. Nigeria is a different kettle of fish. Someone (in Naija) orders a vehicle, the seller (in US) ties up his funds, buys it, ships it and clears it. When it gets to Naija, the intending buyer changes story and says. . ."persin don die for my family" or "i change my mind" or starts renegotiating. The vehicle doesnt get sold and it's just sitting. . . funds are tied up. Yes, there are fraudulent peeps (both buyers and sellers involved) but it's unfair to paint everyone with the same brush.

This is just a scenerio and the nature of this business demands that everybody covers his or her a$$ or base. What i'd advice is for any intending buyer or dealer to use some discretion and if something looks fishy, it is fish. . .not meat. If u dont trust ur seller in Yankee, move to the next one. . .it's as simple as that. You can negotiate paying a fraction which serves as a deposit; that's an option. Most dealers shipping to naija are doing it on a small scale. . . it's not as if they have a bank account such that they can afford to have their funds tied up in naija for several months. You'd realise most ship on demand.

One advice I give to pple is that they should make inquiries. If Midas says, I've been in this business ffor a yr and u are interested in doing business with him, ask him for references/for pple he has shipped to. At least those pple are in Nigeria and everyone has a GSM phone. If u have a pal or relative in yankee, tell the person to do u a favour and help get a feedback on the ride. Most pple i know have contacts in Nigeria; so u'd probably be paying their contacts in Nigeria the money. If the person you are paying it to, looks and sounds shady, waka because that's your only lifeline when or if story get k-leg. If the person doesnt have a stable base (office, house, etc) where u can go jack him for your dough, be very careful. At some point in this business, there has to be some level of trust and if u cant let go, dont risk it. That's the price you get to pay for looking for a relatively cheaper and "customized" ride. My 1-naira!

u don't need any honda dealer , to do it foru

do the following ,

on the dash board , there is a reset button , the one on the right

ok now put the key in the ignition and turn it to the second level and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds , now turn the ignition key to the 3rd level where u see the lights come on , still holding the reset button , hold it for another 10 seconds , and u should see the light go off ,

cheers

this should do it
What if after resetting, the light comes back on?  undecided
Car TalkRe: Maintenance Light On My Baby Boy. by Delta007(m): 2:09pm On Feb 20, 2008
Perhaps the mechanic that did your maintenance doesnt know how to reset the light or there's other problems associated with the car. You might have to go see a Honda dealer so that they can read and interpret the codes and then you go from there.
TravelRe: How Much To Hold In Bank Account For Canadian Student Visa by Delta007(m): 2:02pm On Feb 20, 2008
The bank statements only show that you have enough or more than enough to finance your stay and your tuition. There' nothing like having too much . . .just pure bs. As far as the bank statements are not questionable, you are fine. If u pass the first "hurdle", they'd ask you anyways to pay your fees and get the school to fax the confirmation to them. It's not like you'd have the opportunity to collude with the institution. However, the onus is on you to be able to PROVE that you are only going to Canada for your studies and you have no intention to stay when you are done. So, if you can show you have a job waiting for you in Naija when u are done or very strong family ties (perhaps a family or a family business, etc), amongst other things, then you should be good. Remember, your application has to be Idiot-proof!

Key words: VERY Strong Family Ties

@Nkc,
Based on your post, it's likely you are looking to do a M.Eng or Masters in Applied Science. To be honest, with a 2.9 GPA, it's going to be quite difficult (but it's not an impossibility) as those programs are quite competitive. You are very right. Dal will hardly take anyone less than 3.0. By the way, which discipline are you looking at? I can help you check around.

@Muchbabe,
Dal is the only university in Nova Scotia that offers you a Bachelors in Engineering and Postgrad Degrees in Engineering. The others you mentioned (except the Mt. ) will give you only a 2-yr Diploma in Engineering. Check ur msn wink

Private schools are relatively expensive when compared to the free public schools. About 8% parents do send their kids to private schools but I don't see the point. In Canada, the standard of education is relatively even across the board but if u get extra money to burn sha, i fit resign my job and do private school with your pikins. Andi, those are "out of vogue" laptops. New laptops these days have at least 1GB RAM because of Windows Vista (takes too much memory) and 100GB HDD. Also, Dual Cores are in-thing. My guess is that those are either refurbs or "new" laptops that have been in his store for a few mths/years now.

I ship in Brand new laptops directly from the manufacturers on a regular basis. Email me at jonitive@hotmail.com and let me know what your specs are and your budget.
