BusinessRe: FOREX Crisis: FG Slams $10 Billion Fine On Binance by delvzy(m): 12:44pm On Mar 01, 2024
All these nah okoto. If they’re truly patriotic about the naira and the economy, they’ll do the needful on putting a stop to the real arbitrageurs.
You can ban Binance and what not for the time being but that won’t solve anything.
Aboki Fx came and nothing change, this one too will pass.

There should be a way for the govt to cajole crypto exchanges like Binance rather than making subtle threats around.
NIGERIA is the largest crypto market for Binance and other exchanges in Africa and one of the top in the world, why then will they do something to jeopardize their business?
Maybe when Tinubu and his so-called economy “gurus” begin to pick stones in their glass houses, they will sit up.

P.S.; NAIRA INVESTMENTS OR DOLLARS? Why not the best of BOTH?

BabsO2:
I am having a feeling price may oscillate more between 1,400 and 1,500 as there seem to be excess naira from the years of unproductive over printing.

But 1,200 can happen if oil production goes up and is well receipted by CBN instead of being held back in an opaque manner by NNPC, along with improvement in farming, production activities and increased revenues from Solid Minerals exports.

Looks like the year will stay positive for the stockmarket in all of this.
We need to see insecurity lessen to yield anything good on the street

The money circulating out of the banking sector (~North of #2T) needs to find one way to bank either through stocks or another avenue.
People are hoarding too much which in its way is causing a strain on the Naira.

On one side this is good news to investors as the cost of operation will be reduced and funds channelled to other things. On the other unemployment rises.
Normally alcohol is sachet na scam from the pit of hell. Do you know the amount of waste we get from all these sachet products?

I currently use Afrinvest with Meristem on the side.

I don't have NGX ETF in my portolio,The reason is i am at the mercy of NGXgroup adjusting stocks meeting certain market capitalisation to be on the benchmark of a portolio like NSE30 . I will rather choose when to sell all my position at my discretion.

Over time my portfolio is like an index fund tailored to my conviction. Suggestion to a newbie is figure out what your goal is viz: capital appreciation, steady dividend, etc . Tailor your goal around your circumstance. Everyone in the market is after capital appreciation and profit sharing from their respective investment.

I. ETFs that pay distribution - Stanbic ETF30 be mindful of the fees (expense ratio) attached to investing with them though.

II. Mutual funds - higher fees compared to ETF which may cut into your profit margin over time but that is the price you pay for having the financial house manage your funds for you. There are bunch of products by different financial houses i.e stanbic, united capital, etc if you have any particular one in mind, ask, someone here will be able to answer based on experience (personal or vicarious)

III. One suggestion to start with use the NSE30 as a guide in building your portfolio. Split your fund to 60:40 or 70:30 as you may deem fit to stable and consistently paying dividend companies : growth companies. I will go as far as splitting the dividend companies into monthly brackets so you know over time you have bucket of dividend almost all year round except for january if PZ ends up delisting. While 30% you use as dry powder sitting in a money maerket fund or use to buy shares of growth companies as you deem fit based on conversation here and you doing your due diligence. there's more to be said, but can only say based on questionasked. Shalom!!

How is this a reasonable decision? Hope no wan tell Imolites how hopeless his second tenure is going to be.
People of Imo need to start questioning the government, especially on the pension funds and other gratuities. How will someone work for donkey years and not have access to a befitting retirement?

I'm keeping tabs on MECURE's audited results whenever that comes out. Still not a buy for me till the float increase a bit.
It looks like a large chunk of their revenues will go back into expansion purposes as the establishment of two new factories was made known on the day of listing on NGX.

Why some may be quick to give this a thumbs-up, I don't see the point of establishing new institutions unless it is projected towards a specific discipline that can bring about growth and development, not add another burden to the ever-increasing quota of jobless graduates.
Education is going digital and more practical-oriented with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence. About time other collar jobs like Plumbing, Electrical works and other things we regard as menial jobs become the focal point.

Seriously, a full bid is a state in which a stock has reached its highest price for the day (or close to it) and there are no offers to sell at that price. Likewise, a full offer is the opposite state, in which there are no buyers at the prevailing price and the price may have reached its lowest for the day. undecided

If them no want us to buy, why list it? I guess they'll not release offers until they reach their desired price. Our own na to see something chop from their corruption. Please do you know anything about TIP
From their presentation, the said they are only doing "Listing by Introduction". They are trying to see how the market accept/reject them before making a decision on adding more into the market.
My concern is that OS won't be up to 5%. The top three own a large chunk.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Moves To Clear $10bn Forex Backlog by delvzy(m): 6:39am On Oct 29, 2023
Defecting is the normal play card of the political game.
My point sticks on the merry-go-round politics we seem to be running in this part of the world. A politics that doesn’t seek continuity rather destroy/abandon your predecessors project and build your own.
You tend to ask what developmental plan is being make within these political parties for their flag bearer to key into on ascending to the position of No.1

ThebestPromise:
There is no difference between all the political parties. Now that the Supreme Court is done watch the way your trusted guys will be defecting up and down.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Moves To Clear $10bn Forex Backlog by delvzy(m): 8:59am On Oct 27, 2023
You can only support as far as your eyes can see. It is not rocket science that APC is ridiculed with several myopic individuals.
Why should Buhari have a plan and Tinubu have another?

ThebestPromise:
Politics apart, Nigeria is in a serious mess and nothing PO and Atiku would have done better.

Let me amplify it for you. There is no money to spend and the country is not investment viable anymore. The 10 Billion Dollars he's talking about and other obligations by past governments both APC and PDP is more than our Foreign Reserve.

What we need to do as a country is brace up and support the government so that things don't get worse.
PoliticsRe: Let's Have A Change Of Mindset And Be Positive About Nigeria - Tinubu by delvzy(m): 8:55am On Oct 27, 2023
Which mentality does Nigerians need again? APC has successfully strangled the last drop of hope for a better Nigeria.
Rather than cut the cost of governance, they went on to triple it w/ more junk and over-bloated govt.
PoliticsRe: Removal Of Fuel Subsidy Will Bring Investments, Make Nigeria Prosperous – Tinubu by delvzy(m): 6:07pm On Oct 23, 2023
This statement clearly shows a government that doesn't give a damn about its citizens. When you turn deaf ears to cutting costs on your part and clamouring for an ill-fated subsidy removal without any visible soft landing, you are only setting the whole nation towards a gloomy and doomed future.
Copy and Paste govt with refined English of the same old jargons.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Moves To Clear $10bn Forex Backlog by delvzy(m): 5:52pm On Oct 23, 2023
I’m yet to understand what Nigerians benefit from keeping APC in power. This country is being ruled by individuals.
Has anybody bothered to ask what Tinubu’s government is doing to merge the policies of his predecessor with his?
The day we start asking these questions and put favouritism aside, the better we begin to build a bright and sustainable future for all Nigerians.

The more reason to key into subsequent earnings reports. You'll be able to distinguish between what is a Fair Value and that which is OVERVALUED.

True, the price is high too. I wonder why they made it that high even though the market cap is about 18 Billion I think but they should have made the price lower and issued more shares instead. High prices scare off retail
