SportsRe: Divine Oduduru Gets Six-year Ban For Doping by delvzy(m): 5:34pm On Oct 14, 2023
I feel this judgement is HARSH. Did Blessing categorically say that Divine was an accomplice? What happened to the multiple drug test that came out negative?
So-called justice system that seeks to tarnish a black man's reputation causing him to chase shadows all his life just to defend his name. The sad thing is that most of these athletes go into serious depression and mental health disorder after this.
I just hope he has a strong supporting team that will guide him through this trial times.
Same goes to Blessing too. We can't have bring talents wasting away due to excessive and harsh punishment given by the same body that ought to guide these athletes.
PoliticsRe: IMF Proposes Higher Taxes As Solution To Nigeria’s Fiscal Challenge by delvzy(m): 4:49pm On Oct 14, 2023
If we are truly serious about the growth and development of Africa, we need to start taking the opinions of these institutions as secondary.
The more we give room for them to dictate how our economy should be run, the more it appears to be that they are a de-facto government.
These organizations become irrelevant when African countries behind to see strength in her diversities rather than hate and distrust.
Ask yourself this question "IF THE WORLD IS AT PEACE AND PEOPLE LEAVE IN LOVE, RESPECT AND HARMONY, WILL ORGANIZATIONS LIKE UN, IMF & WFP BE RELEVANT?

Humans easily fall victims when being led by EMOTIONS rather than LOGIC.

The more reason i recomend PATIENCE. IPO is not something you want to be risking your money on.
Allow ground settle first.

All of you lining up to get this shares, should better exercise caution oo, it is looking like they want to push the price up and dump it on people.

A word is enough for the wise o!!!!!!

Not a recommendation o.

I'll wait this their first public earnings result before making a play if I were you. IPOs are tailored for the early investors and institutional investors to cashout.

Any idea of any index fund a newbie in the stock market can invest money into while learning about individual stocks available on NGX?
PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Declares Additional ₦‎25,000 Pay For Low-Grade Workers by delvzy(m): 6:16pm On Oct 01, 2023
They asked Nigerians to make sacrifices on their own part but went on to triple the cost of governance.
The earlier they realize to cut their excesses, the better for us all.

SportsRe: Nigeria Loses AFCON 2027 Hosting Right by delvzy(m): 4:12pm On Sep 27, 2023
So Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania don get automatic qualification for AFCON 2027? I see no big deal in this, it is about time East Africa gets to host the next AFCON.
On our part, it is time for the Ministry of Sports and other stakeholders to go back to the drawing board. Right now, we aren't ready to host such an event.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Set To Present 2023 Supplementary, 2024 Budgets by delvzy(m): 3:59pm On Sep 27, 2023
I'm not trying to paint a gloomy picture, but we mustn't be shy to say how the current state of things is. This 10th NASS hasn't given me that optimistic outlook of things to come.
If we are to go by the " Rubber stamping" agenda of the last administration, we are only moving from frying pan to fire. If the 10th NASS are truly serious about getting Nigeria from this crisis, they need to shun an over-bloated budget and cut out unproductive line items as much as possible.

All eyes need to be on our legislators in the coming weeks.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Liverpool Vs Leicester City: EFL Cup (3 - 1) On 27th September 2023 by delvzy(m): 3:46pm On Sep 27, 2023
MY OPINION
Another match to test the resolve of our squad depth. Quansah will likely pair with Konate at centre-back, while Tsimikas and Bajectic play as LB and RB respectively.
Midfield is pretty much a conundrum with the likes of Bobby Clark looking to get some much-needed first-team minutes. Endo and Gravenbach complete the midfield trio.
The attack is defo Jota, Gakpo and Doak.
PoliticsRe: Obaseki To Shaibu: Dropping Your Guber Ambition, Only Pathway To Reconciliation by delvzy(m): 3:38pm On Sep 27, 2023
Where is the fairness in all these, if it is not that Gov Obaseki has a hidden agenda? Nobody is holding your neck on having a preferred candidate of your own but allow others to have a fair shot at being the party's flag bearer.
On the other note, I hope my regular supply of Banga oil no go dey affected? I leave this matter for the Edo people.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Commences Removal Of Shanties On Blue Line Corridor by delvzy(m): 9:23am On Sep 25, 2023
While I do appreciate the quest of the LASG to ensure infrastructural development, they need to also put in place alternative areas for these people to find shelter.
You can't have these people going to build another round of shanties elsewhere.
As regards illegal dump sites, govt needs a prolific approach towards establishing proper dump sites as well as dealing with saboteurs according to the law.
The Govt has responsibilities so do the people.
BusinessRe: Dangote Refinery To Start Refining Petrol By November 30, 2023 – Devakumar Edwin by delvzy(m): 12:40pm On Sep 19, 2023
If not that NNPL is just incompetent why should Nigeria put all her hopes on one refinery that doesn't look close to being operational anytime soon?
When I look at Oil coys like Aramco of Saudi and Petrobras of Brazil, I just shake my head.
NIGERIA is being held to ransom by these bigots who care more about their bottomless pockets than how to let the wealth of the nation reflect on her people.
We still dey look for a serious govt that with smash this institution in pieces and build it from the ground up.
PoliticsRe: Senator Urhoghide Dumps PDP For APC by delvzy(m): 8:49am On Sep 19, 2023
I don't have a problem with politicians decamping from one party to another like a headless chicken. My concern is why should such an individual still be in a position he was elected in under the party he is deflecting from.
The consequences of this should be a rerun.
PoliticsRe: FG To Construct Super-highways Connecting Abuja And Lagos, PH And Lagos by delvzy(m): 8:33am On Sep 19, 2023
Yes, this sounds good on paper but we all know the full process of actualising that (pre-construction to post-construction) is flawed.
What seems to be our priority in enabling the ease of movement of goods and services?
The Minister should know well that setting unrealistic goals is just an avenue to embezzle limited funds. We already have roads linking all these major cities.
The first point of the call is to identify some of the road construction projects that are a more or less lost cause.
Also, the obsession that the Nigerian govt has with loans is just appealing. This needs to change and must follow credible and critical projects that can speed up development.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by delvzy(m): 9:55am On Aug 05, 2023
There are what they call economic sanctions which the West mainly use as leverage. Military action could prove unnecessary aggression and a regrettable step.
I advise this administration to think this through based on logic and not just emotions and pressure from external parties looking to benefit from a proxy war.
Having border security to checkmate the possible influx of people into Northern Nigeria is okay.

As regards how this affects the market going forward, I'll advise all that care to listen to " TRADE WITH CAUTION".

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by delvzy(m): 6:50am On Jul 29, 2023
If Tinubu is serious about transforming Nigeria and not just another Buhari 2.0, e better give the most important sectors of the economy to personnel with the capacity and the competence to deliver.
We can't afford to walk the same part Daura Alfa took us through.
TravelRe: Ogun Converts Public Buses From Diesel To CNG by delvzy(m): 4:49pm On Jul 26, 2023
Yes, this may seem like a good alternative but when you consider the state in which most of our vehicles and Nigerian roads are, there's a need for a rethink.
Are there case studies of countries or states that have successfully enrolled on the use of CNG? What are the possible measures put in place in case things go south?
These are some of the questions we need to put out there for an open discussion.

The beauty of nature is that water creates a path for itself when you neglect proper drainage and good hygiene practice.
This locality boasts of incompetent representatives and community members.
I don't feel pity when most of these things happen because we know what exactly to do.

Expect other banks to do the same. I expect WEMA to walk the talk & ensure that they themselves don't sabotage this.
The limit should be raised to $5000 in no time, if this works out well.

PoliticsRe: ₦‎70 Billion Is For Repairs, Furniture, Not Cash To Lawmakers — Senate by delvzy(m): 10:44am On Jul 17, 2023
If PBAT doesn't want the national assembly to be an eyesore to his administration, he must show leadership in checkmating these useless acts.
Nigeria is looking for money but the NASS think it is time to repair furniture. Who dey chop the furnitures for this house sef?
What happened to the funds disbursed for the previous repairs?
The bulk of Nigeria's problem emanates from the legislative arm.

@Loco, cbn is waiting for you ooo.lol
You can no longer acquire 5% of Living trust mortgage bank (aka loco's bank) without cbn approval.
I got to know this bank for the first time through Loco and have been eyeing 0.1% of their outstanding 5B shares, but oga Loco no go let me reach 0.0000001% due to the way he short the bank in 2021. From penny price of sub N0.50k ,Oga Loco placed a premium bet on living trust stock and won comfortably 😎 😀 👌 😉 👍

PoliticsRe: Odu’a Group To Begin Oil Exploration by delvzy(m): 10:36am On Jul 01, 2023
PS; we must desist from making comments that appear to be tribalistic in this forum. Nairaland Mods must ensure that they're doing their job to ensure that this space accommodates people from all walks of life.

On the news on the ground, I think it is time for regional companies like Odu'a Group to engage the public about positive investment practices.
Our quest of each region maximising their potential will be achievable if organisations such as this are at the forefront of the growth and development of Nigeria.

I’m never in support of these demonic institutions for once.
What positive impact have they done on low-income countries with all these triple-double interest rate loans?
It is just unfortunate that we have leaders that lack the foresight to look inward and cut down costs on their part.
You say you remove subsidy but it’s not reflecting on your cost of running governance.
Start from that and you’ll begin to see a positive mind-shift throughout the nation.
