PoliticsRe: Dollar Salaries: Court Orders Okonjo-iweala, Adeniji To Refund N206m by denex: 9:44am On Jul 23, 2007
Yes. They shouldn't have been paid in dollars at all. Especially that Okonjo woman that publicly declared that should could not accept the Naira as a legal tender. I was irritated.

Well, that's all dead and gone now. The Presidency should be made to refund that money because at the end of the day, Okonjo was like the Central reason why we could shed about $30 billion of debt.

PoliticsRe: Dollar Salaries: Court Orders Okonjo-iweala, Adeniji To Refund N206m by denex: 12:01am On Jul 23, 2007
It was the presidency that was at fault in approving those amounts. Naturally, OBJ would not employ Okonjo but for the fact that he needed her for the IMF and world bank to believe that we were ready to fully imbibe their policies with this their new inside-woman as Minister of Finance.

So we see that after our debt problem was taken care of, the woman was booted out immediately. That woman is good, but she's not good for Nigeria.

Whatever happened though is the fault of the President which at that time was OBJ. But since he's no more there, the President still needs to be held accountable so Yar'Adua should pay. This is what we want to see when we talk about when we say continuity in government.

I did not like the fact that Okonjo PUBLICLY stated that she would not accept her country's currency as legal tender, but all the same, she rightfully earned every penny. The Presidency should be made to return that money from it allowances.
PoliticsRe: Now Is The Right Time For Obj To Sit Back And Allow Nigeria To Move Forward. by denex: 11:35pm On Jul 22, 2007
What OBJ needs is a full time job that will take his time. He likes travelling. Why can Nigeria join heads with the United Nations or African Union to make OBJ the ambassador to elderly presidents so that he can go around the world trying to convince Hosni Mubarrak, Robert Mugabe, Muammar Ghadaffi, Castro and Kim Jong Il to cede presidency to some young protege of theirs.

And idle mind is the devil factory.
PoliticsRe: Why Do People Love Clinton? by denex: 11:16pm On Jul 22, 2007
Bill Clinton is nice to the sight. He looks sincere, has a lot of charisma and he's an ordinary man. He never sat on some high horse and try to look down on his electorate.

The man is a real politician. He was open to ideas and change and was not particularly fixated on anything.

Automated gate wey dey private individuals house for Magodo? So you think an automated gate should be more expensive than your laptop? Does an automated gate perform better functions than your laptop?

Anyhow, attempt to buy an automated gate on the internet and see how much the retail prices are.

If an automated gate in costs $300,000 then there won't be enough money left to build the mainhouse.

@doyin13

you are a lover of art. Art did not stop Italians from using chemical weapons on Ethiopians. Selassie was a poet to a large extent. You should see his speech on February 28 1968 in California. Bob Marley made an entire song out of it.

Just for clarification, Mengistu is not a "common" Soldier.

Nigerians are yet to even agree that humans can achieve perfection. They go about chanting "no man is perfect".

I've started thinking maybe Nigerians see Germans as gods.

I don't know the first name.

Maybe if I go to the library on Monday or see anything substantial on the net.

But to consider a man who helped win World War II, mobilised the independence of most of Africa and the formation of the Organization of African Unity (O.A.U) that gave rise to the AU we have today. Please, there are very few human beings worldwide that can compare to Haile Selassie I.

By the way, I'm not one of those that worship him. I'm following his track record.

How many Africans in the history of mankind have ever given "hope" to Europeans or even been respected so much.

No! You cannot safely say that. Follow the link below to see the claim of the contract to Amboy Nigeria Ltd. This claim was made when the MD of Amboy was asked to explain the several transfers between his company account and that of Santolina.

Thank you very much.

Now, back to the issue of the gate, the price of automated gates cost about $1,000. Why does Alameseigha's own have to be more than $300,000? Or does the Government House in Bayelsa have 300 gates?

If you want to know the difference between $1 million and GBP1 million, I'll suggest you go to your bank and loan GBP1 million, I'll go to mine and loan $1 million, then we'll exchange.

And by the way, Andy Uba didn't take up to $1 million to the USA. It was $170,000.

Don't mind them. They blew up the World Trade Centre to have an excuse to exterminate Arabs. And some Africans are supporting them.

By the time they will need an excuse to exterminate Africans, they'll just go and blow up the United Nation's Headquarters. Then the South Americans will join them to condemn our terrorism.

When they need an excuse to exterminate the South Americans, they will blow up the World Bank Headquarters.

PoliticsRe: Constitution Amendment: Your Opinion by denex: 5:27pm On Jul 21, 2007
Do you know how dangerous that is? You want to remove the immunity clause. Now, if the governor of Lagos state gets arrested in Togo for questioning, you will know what you have done.

If the governor of Abia State gets arrested by the police in Kano, you will see the effect of your handwork.

Immunity did not jump into our constitution it was there for a reason.

you want me to provide concrete evidence that N40 was collected for gate building? When it was Alams and the contractors who claimed this themselves. Is it not madness for the prosecution to be providing evidence to back up the defence's case? I have no evidence. It is Alams that should produce evidence.

For somebody to quickly admit that he used N40 million to construct gate, then I believe it may have been more.

Then you're talking about gadgets in a gate. What kind of gadgets? Does the gate serve cold beer on Sunny days? Or does it give the guards a back massage? Please stop it!

Do you know what it means to carry GBP1 million cash? That means you have much more where that came from.

Andy Uba wasn't carrying up to $1 million cash when he went to the USA.
