Islam › Re: Boy Or Girl Child, Which Is Better? - An Islamic Perspective by deols(f): 3:05pm On Jul 05, 2013
sino: Jazakumullahu khayran bro, i was having serious issues thinking of my future children in sha Allah, how to raise them up Islamically and i tell you, female children gave me the creeps....

Alhamdulilah, they are gifts from Allah, and nothing good comes easy.

Did you say paradise? Nna make i start to they call myself Abu-l- Banaat cool
Like tpia asked, why should the female give you creeps?

Does it stem from the thought that the male child is easier to train because

*even if he dresses indecently with tight fitted trousers or saggy baggy ones sweeping the floor, it doesnt matter as much as a girl not wearing hijab. People don't see what the boy does or don't care or think it doesnt matter.

*and even if he goes on having illicit sexual reactions, it doesnt matter either as his virginity is never to be proven at any point in time.

*and if pregnancy does come into the question, it doesn't tell on him unlike the girl, who'd have to take the 9 months course or have her life disturbed.

etc

Well, these kinds of thoughts don't help either and are a disservice to the male folks. It makes parents focus so much on the female child, as she is d one who must not break thereby neglecting the male ones.

Every of life teachings is important for the male and female children and training neither should be creepier.

@tbaba1234, I dont think there is anything wrong with asking specifically for a male or female child. Allah's will will prevail anyway but He is also the one who asks us to ask for whatever

dasparrow: @Bolded

Is that all you care about? So many Nigerian males - quite a few who are Igbos by the way - are rottening away in far away jails in Asia and around the world due to drug trafficking. Now who will the parents of this convicted drug traffickers pass their properties to? What of those who gave birth and raised their male children overseas in Europe and USA and these children are now grown up and have no intentions of ever living in Africa, who will the parents pass on the property to? What of those who gave birth to male children but they died before their parents, who will the parents give their properties to? Your mindset has no room in this 21st century.

@Post

Nice thread!
It doesnt have a place even in a 1400 years ago Islam.

You need to see the sentence in red up there in the posting arena. WTHhuh

Back to the issue on ground, I didn't read all of that but child is child. There's nothing like better. Isn't it discrimination to say one is better than the otherhuh Last I checked, I think Allah still condemns discrimination, correct me if I'm wrong.
all you needed was to read the thread before posting your comments. The idea of the thread is to disallow discrimination against female children.

….. So anyone of you who is present that month should fast, and anyone who is ill or on a journey should make up for the lost days by fasting on other days later. (Surah 2:185)
May I use this verse to point at the misconception that anyone who misses a fast deliberately would repay by fasting for sixty days?
It is still one for each missed fast except in the case of sexual intercourse and the paying back is by the man(put in mind, married people)

Please and please Op, don't get a sperm donor and NOT from his family; you dont want to have a child of his blood.

The best thing to do is to leave him. You deserve for this to end as soon as possible.

I wish you the best.

His family knew the problem was his and still blamed you for it?

Well, since you asked as a sister and because he deceived you and made you suffer at it,

there is no reason to pity him and you deserve happiness and to have children.

Let go of him, be free, happy and a mother.

You contradict yourself, yet again.

You say you've corrected my assumptions about muslim men keeping concubines and yet in the same breath you say your understanding of harem "meant where concubines are kept"??

By whom na? (Muslim men)
And what for? (mostly sex)

So how is that any different from what this thread is about? But most importantly, what exactly is your point here? Which side are you on?? cheesy cheesy
No.I didnt contradict myself and my stance has been made known and has not changed.

I quoted you only to correct the thought that men can have 4 wives and as many concubines as possible. But No. they can only have four wives and nothing more.

With tbaba's explanation, it appears the slave girls are termed concubines, which even in my dictionary is wrong.

So, again my post to you was to change the misconception that Muslim men can have concubines according to the Islamic law.

Now about the OP, I already stated that allowing polygamy is fine by me. I agree with some feminist views but I am not can never be a feminist.

@Efemmena xy
Now if you're saying that they aren't good role models, then who is? Surely the people need someone on earth to emulate? Just as Christians look up to their pastors, rev. fathers, priests and even the pope?
The role models for Muslims are the prophet and the rightly guided khilaafa who followed him.Not a harem keeping 21st century man.

I was born into Islam and in my 20+yrs on earth, relating most of the time with Muslims, I have never seen a harem.

Could an harem be a myth?

About role models, I have to ask you if reverend King is one to you, or the pastor who
got eaten at UI zoo.

I would even like to ask whether a pastor Kumuyi lifestyle or a pastor Chris Oyakhilome is the true Christian one.

Well, my conclusion remains that it is everyone to themselves, eventually.

kulyie: abeggiii leave them with their pretentious modesty.like they dont know that some of their alfas who claim to be 'role models are rapists and paedophiles cheesy what of the muslim sleric that was f,1,,n,,,ge.ring his student that is a minor nko?grin there is no role model anywhere, dont let anybody call monkey chimpanze for you.you are your own role model, issshhh grin
Are you trolling or what??

and what if an alfa does something wrong? does it make him right and acting in accordance with Islam or doing what every Muslim does?

Your thoughts are even incoherent for you would have seen that I was against calling anyone a role model.

Is reverend King your role model and representing Christian teachings of killing?
Here:

har·em
/ˈhe(ə)rəm/
Noun
1. The part of a Muslim household reserved for wives, concubines, and female servants.
2. The wives (or concubines) of a polygamous man.
My understanding of harem meant where concubines are kept. It never included wives until now.

Like I said, having up to 4 wives is allowed but more, not. If any Muslim goes ahead yo marry more, his cup of tea. He would be judged according to his actions.

Don't forget that I initially corrected your statement about how Islam allows men to marry and have as many concubines as possible.

Now if you're saying that they aren't good role models, then who is? Surely the people need someone on earth to emulate? Just as Christians look up to their pastors, rev. fathers, priests and even the pope?
Could it be that I am getting you wrong?

what does an harem mean and where is one found? #honestquestion.
Family › Re: Legalize Polygamy! By Jillian Keenan A Feminist by deols(f): 8:23pm On Jul 04, 2013
@tintingz, do you really need all of these arguments.

Chauvinism doesnt suit you jor.

Like the op, I believe polygyny isnt only wanted by men. There are women who thrive in such unions. Allowing them that is good enough.

I must say that I agree with many of feminist views. There are other terms to describe women who don't want to keep to the real, men-hating feminism. They could be womanist undecided or members of women organisations.

I am a humanist btw.
