from all I have read, I see that -most Nigerian men would want a submissive wife. They see submission as an order from God and something that makes marriage work. -Others argue that even though submission is desirable, there are conditions when the woman must not give in -Some women hate the word, prolly because it puts them at the 'disadvantaged' end -some other women see it as a means of deriving the pleasure of God in their marriage. I have learnt a lot. And thanks to the mod for finding it homepage worthy . . |

sis uplawal, that 'wives' appears more proves nothing. In reference to a large no of pple, u'd more likely use d plural form. And we arent opposing Allah's law nor condemning polygamy. just having a preference. |

hahaha! cldnt read beyond the front page. there is obviously a lot wrong with the nation, Nigeria.
Nigerians are more concerned with painting Islam bad than painting anything bad black. Whether perpetrated by Muslims or christians, killing others is bad. I shouldnt be surprised since every bombing, meaning at the death of so many others, Christians find an opportunity to preach,an advertorial to church business.
fact is, boko haram is a cover up to perpetrate evil.
the captured guys are terrorists and are to be treated as that. period. |

https://i.imgur.com/u6Lw9.png ehya, u wish. but unfortunately for u, it is not so. many of u would rather agree with the version of Isam proclaimed by the boko haram and their likes but the truth is, that is not the Islam practiced by majority of Muslims. It is not the Islam preached by prophet Muhammad (SAW) nor the one practiced by isa, the son of Maryam (alayhisalatuwassalam) |

^^ am glad you'r here and are most welcome. PresidentT:
Salam Aleikun.
This is my first contribution on this section and that is largely due to deols's influence who brought me here from her comment on the Imam's body donning the front-page. Thank you deols.
@Op. For brevity sake, I'll ask u to look inward. Period.
And the rest of this my post goes to all muslims. Marital choices or aspirations shouldn't influence our using of hijab. For the females, the act of covering head is mandatory! As muslims we need to teach our wards-young and old- the basics in Islam. I don't have a sound stats but I'm certain that the percentage of those non-hijab users (muslim and christian alike) seriously searching for partner is higher when compare to the hijab user.
Let me quickly add that no reasonable man will marry solely because you are hijab user or non-user. Good morals, intelligence and religion top the list of many guys. Suffice to add that most girl who observe the five daily prayers uses hijab or better still will have no qualms with using hijab.
I'm a professional, and have got loads of friends-well read- in and outside the country that give anything for an intelligent, morally sound and hijab sister. And they we are big boys. And I mean Big. Alhamadullilahi. Salam! i chuckled at the big boys. .lol wa alaykum salam |

| Family › What Does It Mean To Be A Submissive Wife. by deols(op): 6:59pm On Feb 26, 2012 |
I have always thought submission in marriage is a thing of the past. that men of the younger generation see a woman as a partner and would most likely discuss issues with her, hear her views before taking decisions. But my recent interaction with certain pple proved otherwise. So, I have brought this to a larger populace and have the following questions to ask.
what exactly does it mean to be submissive?
In what circumstances is that required or can it be foregone?
to what extent is it a requirement for a successful marriage
DO men demand it even before tying the knot? |
| Islam › Re: Nato's Burning Of Qua-ran. Your Take by deols(f): 6:44pm On Feb 26, 2012 |
shouldnt you be asking why anyone would care to burn a book with the description you gave above. why did a pastor make a big deal of burning the same book some years ago.
Why cant they let Muslims be. Why do they have to do the burning when they know how much importance Muslims attach to it?
when you answer the above, your question would be answered |

It's clear people really need to inform themselves better instead of mostly social sites. Is this new or could be attributed to relignon? The answer is plain NO! There are scientific explanations and it all depends no what makes up the soil like quickslime. Is that 10yrs corpse you're 'allahu-akbarring' for? Browse and see a woman of 129yrs still intact. Religious morons firs, when anything out of the ordinary happens, we give glory to Allah- we say subhanallah. embalming the dead is a possibility , we knoow that. But in Islam, we believe in the protection of the body of the dead when they say the shahada before they die. So, we encourage the dying Muslim to say it. it is this understanding that makes us say Allahu Akbar when such as this happens. Wa Allahu a'lam. danielonyisi:
no one can be like JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH that they killed and he resurrected after the third day who cares for resurrection?? .Resu rrection is a lie.No one dies twice |

Dawdy:
Allahu Akbar!!!
Christians think that this can't be true, because what they rely on are false miracles, like opening the eyes of the one who is not blind, making the fake lame walk, making the one who can speak to make another speech & speaking with Jesus who is not there.
The reason is that paul the originator of their faith says this Roman 3:7
"But if the truth of God through my lie abounded unto his glory, why still judge as a sinner". u'r right o jare |

^^ whenever i see ur name, I feel like, OH My God!! not wanting another woman is part of being feminine. Even The wives of the prophet had their issues too and we arent even like them, just trying hard to be. If you like something, u want it to urself. I woud want my man to me and me alone and there's nothing wrong with that. But if it happens the other way, I'd go for what makes me happy! but I wont be someone else's second wife- the 35 yrs old thing isnt enough reason to be sis. |

@ deols true: plus you know there will be all the people in the community talking. And his family will definitely not be happy and will think you control your husband if he takes you instead of his mom. I hope my future husband's mother likes me as I want a drama free life. Where I am from if they don't like you, they get him a 2nd wife and I am too jealous to deal with that. I hope my MIL likes me too. I'll trade a lot for that. I think the educated ones, with busy lives are better MILs. the second wife thing, wont be able to deal with either |

@nene1, u are most probably speaking from the experience you have around you and that is exactly what I am doing too. There's a possibility therefore that we see different things and from different perspectives. So, when I mentioned knowing a good number of men, I meant it. I think a man with a good self esteem, and a good understanding of Islam would want his wife to practice it well. what you hear from those against are usually things like they want their wife to appear attractive. Seriously? a muslimah's body is not for show off.
I even mentioned the not so serious muslims, and that is in quote cos no one can really put anyone in any category. everyone knows what is good and this type want her for her good qualities with the hope of changing the ones they dont agree with(like her hijab) when they'r finally married.
let us not forget though that there are different types of hijab and i bet we'r considering all here? for with that u'd be seeing a very large percentage of Muslim men, for God or for love or for other reasons choosing women in hijab. |
