"And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to as-Saabiroon (the patient ones)" (al-Baqarah 2:155)

"And surely, We shall try you till We know the Mujaahideen from amongst you and as-Saabireen (the patient ones)" (Muhammad 47:31)

"Indeed, your wealth and children are a trial" (at-Taghaabun 64:15)

And in case your husband marries another woman, try to make it peaceful. I have always believed most of the problems with polygamy is the initial belief that it is bad. have a positive attitude and yours might make a good example

this isnt supposed to be a shia versus sunni thing. It is about good versus bad. If whatever is happening in syria is bad, I'd expect both shia and sunnis to condemn it rather than taking sides.

The pictures are gruesome and I dont see how they could have been fake and if that much people can fake being injured or killed by their president, it means they want him out so let him go as this isnt his birth right.

tbaba1234: Circumcision is Mandatory for men but mustahabb or permissible (depending on the scholar) for female but not obligatory.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is reported to have passed by a woman performing circumcision on a young girl. He instructed the woman by saying: "Cut off only the foreskin (outer fold of skin over the clitoris; the prepuce) but do not cut off deeply (i.e. the clitoris itself), for this is brighter for the face (of the girl) and more favourable with the husband."

So the prophet did not explicitly ban it but his saying project the sensitivity of the issue.

Only the outer part of the skin can be cut off. As long as this is done carefully and the proper medical procedures taken, there should be no long term problem:

"Dr. Haamid al-Ghawaabi says:

The secretions of the labia minora accumulate in uncircumcised women and turn rancid, so they develop an unpleasant odour which may lead to infections of the vagina or urethra. I have seen many cases of sickness caused by the lack of circumcision.

Circumcision reduces excessive sensitivity of the clitoris which may cause it to increase in size to 3 centimeters when aroused, which is very annoying to the husband, especially at the time of intercourse.

Another benefit of circumcision is that it prevents stimulation of the clitoris which makes it grow large in such a manner that it causes pain.

Circumcision prevents spasms of the clitoris which are a kind of inflammation.

In the book on Traditions that affect the health of women and children, which was published by the World Health Organization in 1979 it says:

i wish i can dissect d above but due to constraints i'll give a general reply and hope to b able to reply to my satisfaction later.
First, pls tell m d isnad of that hadith. I'd like to go read it on my own. Like i said an hadith has been reported on it and it only shows permissibility which in essence doesnt make not doing it a sin. And that hadith has been said to be weak

concerning the doctor above, I'd like to know if he is a doctor of medicine and surgery or a phd holder. Many Muslims make d mistake of weaving cultural beliefs into their talks when it has got to do wv Islam.
I must tell u as a matter of fact that most of what he claims are reasons for circumcission are false. There are other equally ridiculous stories like a child born of an uncircumcised woman would die or that circumcision is tahara and any woman without shouldnt handle food nor drinks

I so much dislike so called scholars talking about what they have no knowledge of. Someone once said there is no need for immunization because d almighty Allah already gave us white blood cells to fight infections and his ignorant congregation was hailing their alfa who is also 'versed' in science. since the reason behind the report is to paint Islam black, u nor the reporter would not care to know that Islam places much value to life. To kill a soul is like killing a generation and comes with the same judgement. he who kills is to be killed xcept of course in such instances where the blood money is accepted. i am not aware of any medical reason to circumcise a girl and majority of people who do circumcise their daughters do so for reasons that arent at all medical. Some tell you it is because sunnah. Anyways, it is harmful and should be stopped.

There should be no difference in d way men and women pray except otherwise stated by a sahih hadith. When the prophet addresses something specifically to the women, they then have to do that in a way different from the way he prayed which is automatically it for men.

a hadith that asks women to not spread out in prayers as do men, I read recently but avent done much in finding others. I did have d intention of modifying this post but by Allah's grace u brought it forward first.

We the ummah of rasulullah are to serve as each other's mirrors so that when one is making a mistake others can correct them. I so much appreciate this and look forward to your input into other matters of discourse on this forum

there is no study to confirm that circumcised people don't commit adultery. Why dont parents teach their children the words of the Qur'an against adultery rather than hoping some dangerous actions can stop it. let me tell you the things that can happen when you circumcise a girl-

*she could lose so much blood. that could lead to shocks. she could die as a result
*there is increased risk of having urinary tract infections which can reoccur throughout her life
*the trauma could leave her in a psychological sate, especially when it is done at an older age
*more severe forms of FGm lead to painful sexual intercourse- this leaves both husband and wife in depressed states sometimes, and they cannot even seek help for fear of people talking
*infertility is another problem. this is even worse because she gets to be a victim all over again.
*most circumcisions occur in households and are carried out by untrained local birth attendants who could cut it the wrong way, damaging nerves and cutting the wrong arteries. they use unsterilised equipments exposing the girl to infections, especially HIV.
*the girls are held down by force and could fracture some bones.


this is all that's on my mind now and there is more.

Writing these pain me. WOmen suffer unnecessarily due to customs. we can stop them and why not. and please if you know of the hadith Musawisdom was speaking about, state it. The prophet is a mercy to mankind. He wouldnt have wanted any of the above complications happening to the women.

the main idea is to pass some messages across. the appease is so as Not to make anyone feel bad about certain things they may have done and is the reason the last message to non virgins mentions the fact that we'r all sinners, making it clear that whatever anyone might have done doesn't keep them from the favors of God, one of which is forgiveness.

these are some of the arguments non virgins put up. let us revisit them.

1. having been deflowered doesn't mean being promiscuous.-very true

2. Everyone gets to lose it anyway. that too, is true but shouldnt encourage promiscuity you'd agree.

3.Many people come with the argument that virgin threads are offensive to people who lost it in the most horrid ways(violation victims). I bet this is rare..Everyone empathizes with them

4. Virginity doesn't mean you'd make a good wife- true. Not being a virgin doesn't guarantee that either right? how about being a virgin and making a good wife ??

5. there's room for changes, of course. God can forgive sins already committed. We are all sinners anyways and we can all turn a new leaf!

I have heard of so many virgin talks on this forum. IMO,people who have open such threads have had either of two things in my mind- to encourage fellow virgins or to have fun. Whichever way, the responses have either been of some people nudging them on or of others showing hate.

This is an effort to appease both sides without losing my voice on the way.

I want to believe you are one either because You have not had the opportunity to lose it or because you have a sense of self preservation that keeps you on. Either ways, the following are reasons to keep it until marriage-

1. If you'r religious. Remember you would be doing something beloved to God. I believe all religions shun fornication. DOn't ever think you'r keeping it 4 your husband. I believe it is the wrongest reason to. Muslims believe in doing everything to get rewards from God.

2. I assure you, you are more honored to your husband a virgin than without being one. Am sure everyone prefers a new clothing to a used one..people who say otherwise arent't telling the entire truth.

3. Don't listen to all the things people say on NL. Saying non-Virgins are better at it after marriage is a lie. There is after all a first time for every1.

4. Sexually transmitted Infections, especially HIV are for real. You are at a better chance of being healthy as a virgin

5. You have no issues of always wanting to be with the other gender. That way you can spend your time on more productive things- your education is one.

6. Even if you break up from relationships, your emotional troubles are reducedcompared with people who have been intimate in theirs.

7. I heard of a girl who has had five Boy Friends and had slept with all of them. . .eew! you sure don't wanna be that neighborhood girl who. .it starts with a first time, U know. . .

I seriously dont understand why men give xcuses for marrying another wife when truly, they need none. They just need to have everything it takes-money, time, the other things.
But some come up with such excuses as the first wife is bad, cant cook, doesnt respect them blah blah bla. They even feed d coming one with these stories that she ends up never respecting her senior(for being there first!)

the other side to this sees the second or new wife as d victim. Brother in Islam decides to marry her 'for jihad'. .hmmn! Not because he loves her, or wants her nor because she is a good woman but because hers is a pitiable case. And when pple hear she is a jihad case, they may not blame him for 'doing that' to his other wife.

Note, am not saying any of d above is a sin. It just isnt sensitive.
