Health education campaigns needed fast! these people are prolly unaware of the side effects of what they do

health promotion and prevention are way better and less expensive than cure!

the boy definitely has an immature detoxification pathway. which makes an high consumption bad for his liver.

Parents should be careful of what they do infront of their children. She's simply telling the boy its ok to drink. Shouldnt drinking be banned for less than 18 yr oldshuh? undecided

Political permutations
Since the three nominees are Christians, Joagbaje may win for the simple reason that the non-Christians are likely to vote for him out of sympathy or respect for his principled manner of standing up to his traducers - most times. But Frosbel can win, the majority of active participants here are, afterall, Christians. Besides, Joagbaje won it last year and that might work against him in the minds of many. And, of course, Enigma can very well come from the back to spring a surprise. Let the other two underestimate an enigma at their own risk.
My nominees are not on the poll But i'd be voting joagbaje just for the above point. frosbel should av won my respect for his dedication to what he believes in, But he is too bigoted for my liking. He may never see beyond his nose. Plus, I hope he understands his points against Islam before publishing them(copy and paste).

salam alaykum, there is nothing wrong wth trying to spnd some time away from everyday life matters to worship ALLAH. this is referred to as I'TIKAAF. You must have heard of people doing this during ramadan. The condtion 2 ds is dat it be done IN A MOSQUE. choosing elsewhere would mean practicng wat d prophet never did. Also,u wld b doing it because ohers(xtians) do it. Anoda reason it is wrong is dat u wld be away from pple whic means missing Salaat in jama'.
Are you people working for boko haram and al quaeda, trying to impose militant islam on others?

If you're not comfortable with eating in the south then why not move to the north- especially the states with militant islamists who i'm sure will welcome you.

Since you feel you know better than the ones who have been practicing islam before you were born? huh
o ga o! madam tpia, wat makes u think Islam is only for northern Nigeria and dat it is only practical in the north?? Am a true blooded Yoruba girl and my fore fathers like many others were Muslims. Are u suggesting I move to the north to satisfy your Islamophobia??

wat has alqaeda got to do wv deciding on wat u want to eat and wat u want not. Are u too scared of muslims practicing their religion the right wayhuh

Anyways, since ur comment, as almost all d time, sounds out of ignorance, am compelled to spend a little time explaining some things.

Our fore fathers were aware of what is prohibited in Islam and that is d reason why as mentioned above, even restaurants owned by christians would employ muslims to do the killing of their goats(ogunfe) so as not to send Muslim customers away. that has become d norm to an extent it seems d profession is for Muslims.

to stamp certain products halal is just like the way nutritional facts are always glaring on products(at least from developed nations) so that every customer is aware of what they are consuming. I av seen halal glaring on products from non-muslim nations. Such pple are not bigoted, like u. they are out to make sales and making it clear that it is something Islam allows should not deprive them of that.

@ op, such an agency i'd really like established. Any income generated from endorsing products can be spent on Islamic developmental projects.

we might av become too comfortable wv d thought that the meat we eat are from the abattoir. What comes to mind are the likes of Mr. Biggs. Also, Zartech(frozen chicken). In these cases, there is no way of knowing o.

But I think we can find a solution by having an Halal agency to certify products before we consume them. I can remember a time when Yale foods was said to be using pork and Muslims stopped buying their biscuits until they made a rebuttal(as i heard) of the claim.

this is good. A role model, she is!!!!!!

I have always told people who claim Islam puts women in a surbodinate position to men to stop judging Islam from their own perspective or a western one. Let them ask us, Mulim women what we think of our religion. what we think of hijab, what we think of the position Islam puts us. What they do is like asking an Oyinbo man about Amala. He might c it as not too goodlooking as it is black in colour but we alone understand the feeling we get by eating it.

Of course, there are bad eggs among Muslims, But generally speaking, Muslim girls are more decent and chaste.

There was a topic like ds in d romance section once where a guy mentioned what he has noticed of the two sides.

People like frosbel are the christians who think people should change according to the time and christian girls av bn moving wv the time big time. that includes illicit sexual intercourse.

A muslim girl who does it in hiding is vey much aware it is a sin. Might repent and change in d future But a xtian girl is avn it done as d inn thing.

Islam › Is Piety The Only Beauty? by deols(op): 7:47am On Nov 29, 2011
This is from Muslim Matters.org- it is a must read. Not only for sisters but evry1.http://muslimmatters.org/2011/11/28/is-the-only-beauty-piety/

One day a sister dropped by to pick up something and saw me dressed up with make-up and jewelry, so she assumed I was going somewhere. When I told her I wasn’t, the reason I dressed up surprised her. I told her, “Because it is about time for my husband to return from work.” She said, “You still get ready for your husband?” “Yes, what do you mean “still”?!” I asked. She said, “I used to do that in the beginning of the marriage and then I don’t it anymore.”

Unfortunately this is a common scenario among many Muslim married sisters. In fact, one of the most common complaints husbands have against their wives is that the wives don’t beautify themselves at home.

I have personally observed many Muslim sisters stop taking care of themselves once they get married. Some married sisters only dress up when they go out and while others don’t even bother with that. For some, abaya and hijab become a perfect “cover up” for outside the house and a t-shirt and sweat pants become the perfect lounge-wear for inside the house!

Reasons Why Sisters Don’t Dress Up:
I cannot generalize the reasons why sisters stop taking interest in taking care of themselves at home, but I want to highlight 2 main points:

.Once married to a practicing brother, sisters assume their knight in shining armor won’t be interested in their looks but, rather, in their imaan. They believe their beauty lies in their “piety.”
. Husbands don’t express their desire in seeing their wives dressed up. Or, when their wives dress up, they don’t bother to compliment them, which confuses the wife into thinking, “He does not care.”

Beauty and Piety are Two Separate Characteristics:
Let’s remember, piety may add to a person’s inner beauty which may reflect through physical appearance; however, they both are independent characteristics.

There is no prohibition in looking good; in fact, to physically beautify oneself to please one’s husband and keep him happy is not only a praiseworthy act but also a means to earn reward from Allah azza wa jall.

When the Prophet sallallahu alihi wasalam was asked which woman was best, he replied, “The one who pleases (her husband) when he looks at her, obeys him when he gives a command….” (Nasa’i)

Hence, sisters, please on a daily basis before your husband returns home:

-Take a shower (make sure you are not smelling like food)
- Change your clothes.
-Wash your face with cleanser/scrub.
- Put light make up on. Please don’t use the excuse, “I don’t know how to.”
- Wear some jewelry.
- Show some creativity with your hair. Remember frizzy hair can be taken care of with gel, mousse, hair spray, hair straightener etc.
-Use your perfume everyday and not only when you visit a friend.

Moreover, try to get a facial done once in a while. If you can’t afford to, there are millions of products available at very reasonable prices for home facials/deep cleaning.

Dear sisters, abaya should not be used to cover up weight gain, and neither should the hijab keep frizzy/unkempt hair covered. I understand that a t-shirt and sweat pants are the most comfortable clothing but it needs to be changed before your husband get back home.

Husbands: Pay Attention & Don’t be Stingy with Words:
In the early days of marriage, since husbands are “new,” it is important to look good. As the time passes and the couple becomes more comfortable around each other, it is only natural to become more informal. I remember the first time I wore my glasses in front of my husband was after SIX months of our marriage!

Compliments are incentives for looking good. For non-hijaabis it is easier to stay focused about their looks since their appearance is visible in public.

On the other hand, once a person is covered behind abaya and hijaab, it is easier to become careless about one’s appearance; besides, “who is going to look?”. This is where a husband’s attention and compliments become essential. A wife desires attention from her husband. If she feels her husband appreciates her dressing up and taking care of herself, it will encourage her to take care of herself. Hence, husbands please:

Pay attention to your wife on a daily basis
Show interest in her looks, clothes and her overall appearance
Encourage her by buying her clothes you would like her to wear
When she is dressed up, make sure you praise her.
When she is not, remind her gently

Marriage is a mutual bond of understanding and give and take. This issue, too, requires an effort on both sides.

And finally, it’s never too late to start young. Parents, some advice for your young girls:

Train your daughters to take care of themselves from a young age.
Instill a habit of working out regularly so they become accustomed to maintaining their physique.
Allow them to wear jewelry at home and even let them experiment with make up so when they get married and should be adorning themselves for their husbands, the intimidation factor isn’t there. Wearing make-up and jewelry won’t become a burden, but rather a daily ritual.
Train them to dress nicely and keep a pleasant demeanor every day at home in front of their family.

By taking these subtle steps you prepare them for some lifelong habits that will only make their marital life more pleasant inshaAllah.

I like what you bolded there. The key question is: does a wife suckling her husband to his fill invalidate the marriage?

I think not deols.

Note: the thing no be man food now, so we the men should take it easy.

Read this http://en.allexperts.com/q/Muslim-Teens-3671/2008/10/breastfeeding.htm smiley

Allah knows best.
the link u provided gave d two sides of the argument and then wrote a conclusion which is wat i posted above. Why would a man want a fill from his wife's breast milk. If it happens accidentally? fine. But it should not become his source of milk. .yoghurt is everywhere for God's sake.

I read a sahih hadith from Bukhari in the book of Nikkah. . I wld av gone for it But for time. In it, one of the wives of the prophet, I think Zainab had a boy living with her. he was attaining puberty and she told the prophet he was starting to look at her in a way. .He asked her to feed him from her breast milk and that just normalised him. .ds boy wasnt an infant.

Well, am not a scholar. May God forgive me for any mistake I might av made. The best thing is to always leave what we doubt and go for what we are in-doubt of. WaAllahu a'lam.
Islam › Re: Is It Ideal In Islam? by deols(f): 8:44pm On Nov 27, 2011
So, the husband can enjoy the body of his wife by any means he wants, and if this caused the falling of the milk in his mouth, so the marriage is still ok and not broken, but this doesnot mean that the wife's breast milk is considered as a source of nutrition for the husband, and it shouldn't be.
