@chrisokw I am sure you are not into business that much. do you think mike adenuga is on a beach sipping wine and having fun? This is an international business man with investments in MANY countries, which NIGERIA is just ine of. If the home front is being politicized he can move else where and invest. For you information since he left Nigeria, he has won telcom license in GHANA ,& INDIA, not to talk of OPL in sao-tome |
this is just the power of the media at play. The westerners will make you feel useless if you take their views. ABUJA by any standard is an above average city, clean etc. These guys just want us and we should just shred editorials like that. Read them and laugh over it. nothing more. |
please let us sheat our sword . I do not beleive in shouting or abusing ourselves based on any linage(tribal/religious). This the 21st century guyz . let us accept our diversity and differences. It's been 47 years that NIGERIA has been together and to me it's absurd for someone to be dealing with another brother based on tribal sentiments, I have been on an employment interview boards a couple of times and the last thing on my mind was always the tribe, let us RUN away from tribal sentimets . It's too late to separate a marriage of 47 years |
jeff is fired, !!!!!!!!!!!!. THAT IS GOOD NEWS. Useless good for nothing guy, |
what are you talking about here. EHINDERO is an honest man from all scientifical NIGERIAN corruption gauge. 21million is about 0.123% of 17 billion naira(TAFA BALAOGUN) and 0.525 of 4 billion ( PASTOR AKANI) . Though it might be about 10% of commodore OJEDOKUN (INDIA) , we can still call al these corruption cos he(OJEDOKUN) was patted on the head and told not to do it again. Infact i heard from ehindero that he wanted to put the money in WEALTH SOLUTION/ TREASURELINE so that after 10 week he would return it to OKIRO, OKIRO should have kept quiet until after 10 weeks ,haba simple agreement , infact OKIRO is corrupt for bridging the egreement |
i was on a job (one man business) earning 30,000 3 years agoin port harcourt. It was so stressful and tasking that i was looking worse off physically than when i was in the university. It was also making me to limt my vision and expectation of life. I was beginning to see people that earn 70,000 as MEGA big boyz. Then i took a big decision to quit the job. It was a big gamble , i was and i even suffered more for it but the advantage was that it cleared my head to reset my dreams again. I was not called for an interview until after 6 months of joblessness. I was offered a 60,000 job . i took it, and Today i earn about 350K . One of my younger ones had almost similiar problem and i told her to resign and sit at home to "reset her dreams". She actually sat at home for 9months and today she is wit GTbank. so you have two choices 1. hold on to what you have and keep looking for other options ( always difficult to attend interviews) or 2. take the big gamble and set up your mind to sit at home for about 6 month (it could be more or LESS). The advantage of this is that you will go back to your initial dreams but it's usually not easy. GOD BE WITH YOU |

Today, march 9 th 2007 , in RING ROAD area of BENIN CITY soldiers numbered about 10 stormed the police station in ring road and started beating dangerously and mercilessly policemen. I made attempts to take pictures with my digital camera but it was too risky, I later heard part of the police station was burnt. Unfortunatetly and disgracefully for me , i was in company of my colleague ( an european) . I had tried tried all week to concince this guy that NIGERIA is not as BAD as it was painted to him when he was coming for the PROJECT we are working on, how do we stop this disgraceful act, |
courtesy today's vanguard full text below New Naira notes: Sultan, Adegbite, others insist on Arabic signs * Want FG to put planned restructuring of unity schools on hold DAPO OLUFADE Sokoto Posted to the Web: Sunday, March 04, 2007 THE Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, (NSCIA) headed by the Sultan of Sokoto has rejected the new naira notes which was launched last week by President Olusegun Obasanjo on the ground that the Arabic inscriptions on the naira notes were removed and replaced with the three major Nigerian languages; Hausa, Ibo and Yoruba. The council has therefore insisted that the Arabic inscriptions on the naira notes should be restored. This was one of the resolutions of the council at the end of its meeting held in the palace of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar after he was presented with the staff of office yesterday. The meeting which was presided by the Sultan had in attendance the Secretary General of the Council, Alhaji Lateef Adegbite and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Alao Arisekola. But the Central Bank governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo while explaining the reasons behind the removal of Arabic inscriptions on the naira notes at the launching of the new notes said “It is pertinent to let Nigerians understand that Arabic is not one of the national languages and it was inscribed on the notes 40 years ago because the majority of people then can read it in the Northern part of the country to the detriment of their counterparts in the South.” The CBN apparently pre-empted the reactions by the Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, that reasons should be offered for deleting the Arabic inscriptions on the naira notes. Soludo spoke of the need for the country to grow and move forward and for its people to get accustomed to innovations. He stressed that the removal of the Arabic inscriptions was to promote unity in diversity and was not directed at any religious or ethnic group. Apart from the restoration of Arabic inscriptions on the new naira notes, the Islamic Council also want the Federal Government to put on hold the planned restructuring of the Unity Schools in the country. The Minister of Education, Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili has been in the forefront of reforms in the education sector and part of the reforms is the privatisation of Unity Schools. The cardinal objective of the Education Sector Reform, according to the minister is “the restoration of character and learning to education as foundation for creating and sustaining a good society, for nurturing the mind and for the ability to compete globally.” While further justifying the restructuring of the unity schools in the country by the Federal Government,, Ezekwesili said. “Our greatest concern is the fact that the ministry (Federal Ministry of Education) spends an inordinate amount of time and resources on these schools and constitute only 30 percent of the secondary schools in the country. Out of 6.4 million secondary school students, only 120,718 are in the unity schools. This number cannot on any account justify the disproportionate amount of staff and budget allocated to these schools. This has to be reversed. We have to do things differently as the current business model can no longer be sustained” |
The sultan of sokoto ,lateef adegbite and NORTHERN muslims have rejected the new currency notes because they do not have ARABIC inscriptions>>>>>>> what do |you think? |

I gues it's usually better to have a branded masters (i.e from a world acclaimed university). you will almost get an international job after you finish. This ofcourse has already given you exposure and and confidence. It's is also better if it is possible for you to have some years of experience before doing masters, |

Stabbing of Arsenal fan Posted to the Web: Wednesday, February 14, 2007 FOOTBALL fanaticism took a bizarre dimension in Adeniji-Adele area of Lagos Island when an angry fan rammed the full length of a knife into the skull of another fan. Hakeem Salami, a Bolton Wanderers supporter stabbed Sodiki Anjorin, 26, an amateur footballer and ardent fan of Arsenal of London on the head with a knife. “It was on that fateful day (30 January 2007) when Arsenal and Bolton were playing. The first half, Bolton were leading before Arsenal drew level. Hakeem, my assailant was happy and he was making mockery of me. I did not say anything to him even though I was not happy but was praying that my own team, Arsenal would equalise. As God would have it, Arsenal equalised. I too started laughing and boasting,” said Sodiki, who was operated at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, where he is recuperating from a successful oral and maxillo-facial surgery. According to him, Hakeem threw live charcoal from a nearby suya seller at him which he dodged but, “something drove into my head. That was all I knew.” How can the love of a foreign club - or anything for that matter - make a fan go to such extreme? The police are still after Hakeem. The charged atmosphere at locations where Nigerian football fans gather to watch English Premiership and European Super League matches should be of concern to the authorities. These fans disturb the peace of people living in such areas with their noisy arguments and celebrations that can go on for days. Anyone who opposes them is attacked. Last year in Ojota, Lagos, rival fans fought each other for days after a European Championship game. Property, some of which did not belong to the brawling parties, were destroyed, people were injured, including passers by. It is baffling that supposed sports fans can descend to criminality in the name of supporting their teams. Sports should not attract fans, who hide under supportership to inflict wickedness on others. The increasing followership that foreign clubs enjoy among the youths of this country might be a fallout of high rate of unemployment in the nation. The youth turn to football fanaticism for want of something worthwhile to engage them. More than football goes on - there is betting, high consumption of alcohol and some of these fellows are always armed, in anticipation of being attacked too. It is a manifestation of failure on the part of government that hundreds of thousands of these youth are unemployed and waiting for opportunities to express their anger at the system. If they are busy enough, they would be too far spent to have the time and energy for criminal activities under the guise of supporting a sports team. The authorities have to do something urgently to curb this new wave of hooliganism before it spreads. The availability of satellite broadcast of these matches could mean that more ugly incidents are on the way, if not checked. In the interim, it would be the duty of parents, teachers, religious and community leaders to keep explaining to the youth that their future cannot be adversely affected if their team loses a game, the result of which is not dependent on these arguments that turn violent |
