@phatgirl A lot of people give us wrong advice. I applied for uk visa in july2007 and i was denied. First week i appealed and two weeks later i re-applied and i was granted the visa. Re-application is faster, just concentrate on the ECO's reason for rejecting you and submit as many document as possible regarding the REASONS for the denial and attach a photocopy of all your appeal documents , including forms etc. This make the next ECO job lot easier. This was what i did, despite the many advices i received against re-application. |
my brothers and sisters, It will take a long time to develope the niger-delta region. Developement of a region or a country goes beyond building roads and having water etc ( it's a crucial part, don't crucify me) , development is actually more on the people. Imagine what is on the mind of a 6-10 year old REAL niger delta boy ( NOT THE ONES WHO GREW UP IN LAGOS and REMEMBER THEY ARE from NIGER DELTANs when it comes SHELL, MOBIL, recruitment). It will take a lot to change his mind from NOT trusting the government to beleiving the state. 15 years is not too long or short for these. Yaradua will definatetly NOT stay 15 years but let concentrate on the main issue (DEVELOPING NIGER DELTA) and not an individual (YARADUA) |

i agree with shango, I don't think it's necessary to hang on to NIGERAIN citizenship when you do not see anything good coming out of the country. If you are an american/british national just stay with that. We are ok with you being of nigerian descent NOT hanging to the two. I am sure most of the DUAL , guys are just playing the game of if this one does not work, this one will. No doubt Nigeria is working and it will definatetly take us some time to get to our comfort zone. Most of us contributing to the growth one way or the other are NOT complaing as those people that pay lip service to the NIGERIAN project. The middle class is getting bigger by the day in NIJA and as such a couple of us are beginning travel wide for vacation, courses, training etc to those COUNTRIES that foreign NIJA's see as their lifetime GOAL.( Most of this pro-dual guys have life time dreams of getting a foreign PALI). We see how black american/british /french are treated NOT to talk of you with an OGUNMODEDE/IRABOR/ODEMWINGWE name. You have no place there and also the gap is widening for you in NIGERIA. so i guess for the PRO-DUAL, they or their next generation will have identity problem as they will belong NO where sorry |
a link to this jist will give it more credibility |
@bonjee go to another thread please ![]() |
it's always natural fir people to be against policies of the goverment. i encourage it but i prefer intelligent contributions to what has been obtainable so far. Some people are just against it cos it's a policy from a NIGERIAN and not from one oyinbo in IMF and WORLD bank. During the bank consolidation thing, the banks were pegged to bring 25billion. less than 12 months after the consolidations Banks are themselves targetting 100billion it is the duty of the goverment to create policies and provide enabling environment for it to thrive. Now the policy is 1.25 to 1 dollar. Once all the things have been put in place you can be sure that the poilcy will surpass our expectations. SOLUDO IS A GENIUS , we have absolute confidence in him. Especially those of us NIGERAIN working in NIGERIA and DRIVING the economy. Not those siting in the cold of europe , sweeping the streets or selling in the store. |
i hope we all recognise that a whole lot of these prostitutes are forced into this profession. If FASHOLA's arrest will deter only one "victim" to be brought to LAGOS for this illicict act then his action is commendable. Also , there should be a limit to what we do. we like to talk, dress, dance, sing like the AMERICANs & EUROPEANS but when it comes to being PATRIOTIC, QUEING , ORGANISED, TIME CONSCIUOS, ETC we think of the NIGERIAN factor, We are african that have traditional value |
really, i have been trying to just understand offunuke, but the fact is she IS NOT A BB material. I don't know why she applied. She is NOT fit for things like this really. she is just herself but HER nature is not good enough for the show. i bet you she will not last too long in the house. Nigerians are not proud of her at all. |
@ seun I am getting more dissapointed by the day by the way you handle issues and make contributions. The question was so simple. why in the whole world would you paint NIGERIA that black. I think you need to travel round the country a little bit to appreciate this wonderful country. To the poster, I earn about half of that money you are talking about in NIGERIA an i i can still aford the following in lagos 1. A car (650k) 2. 2 bedroom apartment ( 300K) 3. a mobile phone ( 4k/month) 4. a satellite pay phone ( 9k/month) 5. 3 weeks vacation every year in the UK with MY WIFE So i think with 5million you will enjoy more and even have enough to save, |
@funkybaby these are the answers to your question 1 I DID NOT submit a tax clearance certificate but i did submit my PAYSLIPS for the past 6 months 2.The bank account is a SPECIAL savings account which allows payment of cheques. 3 the two other reasons were flimsy a) that i did not go to school between 2002 and now b) that the ECO is not sure that the course is relevant to my career However my situation has changed . i have just been granted FULL scholarship for this studies by a body in the UK. definately they will re-apply for me since i told them that i was denied in july. i hope the earlier application will not affect this new one. |
well, although your reply does not answer my question but let me give you a little info about myself i did my first degree in nigeria. finished about 5 years ago. i have been working for 3 years , so i have a right to choose where i want to get qualitative education. Also, my course is NOT done by any university in NIGERIA. I.E MSC project management |
hi all, i have just been denied a student visa because MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT DOES NOT HAVE COT DEDUCTIONS.I currently hold a valid visit visa, i visited and spent 9 days. funny enough i used this same account for the visit visa. i have promptly appealed against this decision and sumitted the appeal at the BHC. According to the AIT website, the ECO is supposed to review the CASE before sending it to the AIT. how long will this take and how possible is it to track it. Also , i want to re-apply. Will it not interfare with the appeal process. I need to go to school before it"s too late. |
i am amazed by how deep the "westerners" have changed our thinking. We always see ourselves as" less than". What is bad in a RICH NIGERIAN BROTHER telling the whole world that he is worth than 1.5billion dollars. CNN or BBC ( which i have personally stopped watching) might come out tomorrow to do a documentary on how "dangote robbed a bank " and we will believe hook line and sinker. Dangote is a fantastic business man who will take every opportunity that presents itself as an advantage. If we do not have a good tax system , it's to his advantage. Besides who told you that DANGOTE does not pay taxes. Please don't be brainwashed by WESTERNERs . THEY DON'T WANT ANY GOOD for us. |
i think what picture is telling us is that " you can do it" |
hi jaja, it's all about having a strategy. look for multinationals that have strong presence in NIGERIA , work with them for about 2 years and the apply to their NIGERIAN office. you can try the oil, telecomms , good banks like HSBC etc. in two year , you will determine your pay. one thing i have noticed in NIGERIA is that employers can pay you almost anything, it just depends on you |
happily married |
yaradua looks wonderful in his agbada. you can imagine how obasanjo would have looked in a suit. thanks to agbada he could look presentable. apart from that, suit does not represent any culture in nigeria. we need to create an identity for ourselves. we would be one of the top 20 biggest economies by 2020. so we need to create the identity now, |
DO NOT TAKE THE JOB OH. IT WILL ENSLAVE YOUR MENTALITY. |

hey docokwy you topic of the post is not too, intelligent. disabuse your mind about trivial things like this. let your mind grow up ![]() |
sorry for the late reply to your questions. applications for the schorlaship ended on june 1st 2007 for further details you can visit www.carringtonheritage.org.uk |
hi , I have just been invited for THE 2007/2008 CARRINGTON HERITAGE FOUNDATION UK SCHOLARSHIP screening examionation. Please does anyone know the format of the exam?? |
hi abode, i guess you really do not know why some companies insist on 2.1 & first class. These companies want to limit the number of applications their H.R will handle. Afterall most nigerian graduates learn the skill to work at their place of work not what they learnt in school. Some companies don't bother themselves so much about grades but you will find out that "man know man" will most likely be their mode of employment. If you have had the oppurtunity of posting a job on the internet, you will be overwhelmed with the number of responces you will get in two day, talkless of two weeks. so don't blame them they just want the number of qualified people reduced, so that they can try to handle them |
I want to sell my wife's wedding gown. |
i thinks it makes more sense to apply for visiting visa (6 months) for her. let her spend as much as 4 months during this period try to organise yourself to get a job . If you get a job you can then have the option of securing 2 years visiting for her OR a dependent visa. it's better you have a shot once at the embassy |
intelligent. disabuse your mind about trivial things like this.
