I will not call the name of my church for some reasons, but my church is that type that dosn't have a parmanent pastor.

So, we always have a new pastor almost every four or five years.

Recently, a new pastor was transfered to us, this my new pastor is very good when it comes to preaching the word of God, and things that helps in the development of a church.. infact, so many good things have been going 'on' in my church since his arrival.

But the problem is that, he is that kind of pastor with swag, He goes to beer parlour to drink, he can go to gathering to play draft, (imaging the kind of people u see in a beer parlour of draft gathering), and because of this things he does, some people (expecially other churches) use it against us the members..

People we be like, una pastor wey dey drink beer.. And we don't even know how we can deffend him or ourself when we are being attacked by these people..

We are currently loosing members on a daily basis, and i'm not happy with it.

While it might not be wrong to take alcohol, but as a pastor and leader in the church he is supposed to show a level of discipline for the Bible says
Romans 14:21 - "It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to "to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak."

I am barber, just turned 19 few weeks ago and I am supposed to start my uni education tomorrow but that is not the problem.

I earned upwards of 40... Maybe 60k most of which I aid my siblings with. But it's too demanding, like 14 or 15 hours a day everyday. And I have some skill trading forex but I don't do it now.

Right now I want to drop barbing and possibly school to learn blockchain development. My mom will prolly take me for deliverance. Lol.

Honestly speaking am really worried, have dated my fiance for sometime now. So we finally decided to tie the knot.

The following week, the hall she choosed for the reception of the white wedding, has already been paid for by her dad which was about 500k excluding the decorations which they also took care of ( even though I opted we could have done the reception in the church)

But my fiancee told me her dad is inviting alot of well-wishers home and abroad to come celebrate with us.both his fellow staffs and all.

* I bought 2 bag of rice and groundnut oils

* We paid for the cakes

* We paid for drinks

* We sorted things out (invitation cards, pre shoot photos)

But was surprised 2 days to the traditional marriage, more expensive drinks were rolling in.

On the d day of the white wedding, I realised, they cooked more than 8 bags of rice ( coconut, jollof, banga and fried) meats were surplused.
Alot of people came from her family's, while my own families were just there.. they did get the message.

Someone even said it to my mom face. THAT THIS GIRL PAPA TRY O.

i dont know how this will turn out, but I hate people dictating how I plan my stuffs especially family matters. I do my stuffs on my own terms wether money dey or not, na man I be, if my in-laws wish to contribute to my wedding as I have told them I want it low and not flamboyant, they can fit their plans in ours by doing the respectable which is seating down discus how they can be of help, I will most likely accept cash gifts so that I and my wife to be will plan our day the way we are supposed to build our lives together, you don't use my day to shine just because you want to help me. Anyway na yoruba way of life, I just hope this does not give them the impetus to be shooking mouth in your family matters when they are not supposed to.

I man deserves his dignity, no man should take it away from him because of help,. I can tell that feeling you are having right now is not a good one, they have reduced an inch of your confidence..

Anyway the did is done, just watch for any unnecessary insult, and don't fail to let anyone who tries that in the name of what they have done for you know that you do not tolerate nonsense

I am a young guy working from home and I try all my best to make my wife happy always but there is one attitude in her which I am not comfortable with and I don't know how else to explain to her after I have tried so much for her to start up something.

It's been a very busy week here in Lagos as the International Trade Fair begins to gear towards the end.

Some years ago, I was at United Bank for Africa to open an account. That was going to be my second bank account and to my disappointment, they told me I will need at least NGN25,000 before I can open an account and that the least I can have in the account is NGN25,000. I left and would later have a Diamond Bank marketer open an account for me with Zero Balance.

Fast forward to November 2021. This woman walked up to me here in Lagos and asked if I have an account with UBA. Long story cut short, she opened an account with a Zero balance, I funded it and got my debit card that same day. An Igbo adage says "ebe onye oso ruru, onye ije ga eru" which means "there is no rush in life." I didn't open a UBA account because I needed it badly, it was because I wanted another account for a certain purpose. Also, it was convenient.

That's not the main reason why I am sharing this story.

A day after I had opened the new account and gotten my debit card, I got a call from a supposed UBA customer care agent. He sounded very proficient.

"Good morning Mr Onyedika. Once again, congratulations and thank you for choosing UBA. We do this routine call to inform our new customers about the need to protect their information against scammers. Ensure that you do not give anyone sensitive information concerning your account" he said

I felt a bit relaxed, I concluded it was just the usual security briefings that we have already gotten used to. I kept being attentive with some occasional "okay" to make him know that I am on the phone with him. He kept going

"Before I continue, kindly confirm if this is your account number 2222xxxxxxx" he called out the account number. It was correct and I affirmed. He continued "kindly confirm if you tried making a payment or withdrawal with your ATM card and it wasn't successful"

Candidly, I had tried renewing a subscription using thr new debit card and the transaction wasn't successful. I affirmed and he continued

"I am sorry about that Sir. This is exactly the reason why I called. Kindly give me some minutes while I run a check on your account" I could hear him work on his keyboard and the ambience sounded like a banking hall. I was relaxed and thrilled at the same time on how UBA could notice errors on the customer end without the customer even filing a report. I had to check again to be sure that I wasn't speaking with a robot. After a while, his voice was back "Okay Sir. When you got your card yesterday, a code was sent to you for the card activation"

"Yes" I affirmed "and I changed the code as I was told" I added

"Okay, Sir. Kindly disregard that code that was sent to you yesterday as we will be resetting your card so that you can be able to make transactions with it. What this means is that you'll be getting a new code that you'll use. When I call out this code for you, kindly write it down and use any ATM of your choice to change the code"

"Alright" I responded as he continued

"The code is 8235. I repeat, the code is 8235. Remember Sir that for the safety of your account, do not share your card details with anyone as it will make your account vulnerable to scammers"

"Alright," I said. I was going to get my card, go to one of the closest ATM stand and so as he said. Then he went on

"One more thing Sir. To validate the process, kindly call out the code you changed to yesterday"

"You mean I should call out the new pin of the card?" I asked. I was getting the whole picture now

"Not exactly Sir. As I said, the card has been reset and your default code is the one I called out to you. When you change the code to your preferred pin, your card will start working. But I'll need to know the code you changed to yesterday. This will help us in validating your card, Sir." He sounded calm and persuasive but he can only tell that to a naive fellow.

"That won't be a problem," I said "I am very close to where I opened this account. I think it's better I just walk up there and they help me sort out all of this"

"That is fine too Sir but not necessarily because we can validate it over the phone. I'll transfer you now to my manager, you can speak with him" he said, I could sense some kind of disinclination in his voice.

"Listen, Mr Man, I can't give my sensitive details to anybody and not even your manager or the CBN governor. I'll go to the UBA branch close to me to sort out the card issue I said" he hissed and hung up.

I wasn't intending to go to the bank to verify anything, I knew it was a scam but what is startling to me is how he got my account information, how he knew the date and time I opened the account and how he even knew I had a failed transaction. It can't be a guess work especially for an account that wasn't even up to 24hours it was opened.

Could it be that there is a staff of United Bank for Africa who releases this information or could it be that someone else has access through a backdoor to United Bank for Africa's database? This is a question I have no one to ask.

Stay woke... These guys upgrade on daily basis.

WARNING: All UBA users take caution and transfer all you money out, it seems the bank is under attack which they won't inform the Public. There has been series of complaints from customers about their account being debited. I was warned by a friend 3 days ago I thought it was a joke until I woke up this morning and met debit alert of transactions I didn't carry out. All happen around 3am, I receive N5000 debit alert 3 times, I had to quickly transfer all my funds out.
Please this has nothing to with you exposing your card details online, take caution. Most transactions are carry out in Lagos, no matter where you are.

You can check their facebook page to see the numbers of victims complaining...

Please don't ignore, I have 3 friends and 2 colleagues who are victims too.

I wanted to start up a POS business with my savings of N65k, but the POS man that i consulted to assist me said i would need at least N150k to start up a POS business.

I've really been hustling everyday, doing hard works (especially on bulding sites), taking pain killer drugs on daily basis..

I don't think it will be easy for me to raised my savings up to that amount 'N150k' with the type of work that i do..

I wanted to travel to the city with my ND (National Diploma) result, so i can use it to look for work, I posted it here on nairaland, but 80% of the advice i got from this forum said it will be hard to see a paying job with ND result, while some said it is not even possible. So i couldn't travel again..

Now that my savings isn't enough to start up a POS business, i'm thinking of starting up a standard akara and akamu business and probably extend the business along the run..

As someone known by his people to have went to school, is the business worth the shame?

why not apply for jobs online from your current location, in your preferred city, jobs abound numerous in the city, especially low paying jobs from 30k-70k yes with your diploma, here in Abuja the most popular jobs for diploma with an atom of decency is estate jobs, especially facilities manager,commercial cleaning either by working under a company or by hustling yours, I recommend working under a company first. In addition you can skills online why you do the job you do, that's the best escape you have, digital skills is the altimate, I can't emphasize enough on it... Learn it. Practice it, there are threads here on nairaland where you can learn these skills for free, dedicate time and passion, you will get there..

For a start I recommend graphic designs, (it's saturated) but the reason why you should learn it is because it's a skill people in your life will want in the future when you come to the city, copy write, affiliate marketing, domaining (yes try domaining, if you learn your onions,you can raise a capital from it, I'm talking millions) Then the altimate of them all cryptocurrency, it's simply the future but you need money to invest, that's why I recommended those other ones once you make enough money from the others you can diversify into cryptocurrency trading and investments
