fergie001:
Nice one

Remember Bishop Ibezim many years ago as a young Rev.Canon @ St. Michael's Anglican Church,Coker...

Anyways what he had said isn't new to anyone.
The President has simply turned a blind eye to the security situation in that part of the country, perhaps to be seen as a 'god' and as one whose ambition is first to his clan.
I do not think there is anything anyone will say that will change his heart, with all Security agencies from that side........it's same story
Security in the country as a whole is at an alarming low
Death seems very normal these days
I used to remember how I dodge graphic pix here, but nowadays I be baba cry, imagine life....Those who prepare evil, will be 1st victims

Some are waiting on God
Faith without works is meaningless
Work and pray

Bros if it's bad it is...there are people who didn't lose their integrity because of the prevalent hardship.
Stealing from anybody is more shameful than begging.
Instead of stealing BEG..
sobmos:
e all know that yahoo yahoo is bad. It’s taking money from hard working people and destroying their lives, giving them emotional breakdowns.

But we have to look at it from another angle, I’m not in support of Yahoo, neither am I against it. I’m not against it because the Government has failed us the masses.

Yahoo is a way of liberating oneself from the shackles of poverty. I know several yahooboys that are employers of labor today. I know several yahooboys that are the breadwinner of their family.

I’m against yahooboys that scams locally, scamming your fellow Nigerians, I’m totally against that. If you must scam, scam the white folks.

I’m against yahooboys that goes to club and squanders thousands and millions of naira on drinks just to show that they’ve “arrived”. It doesn’t make any sense .

I know a yahooboy that owns several mobile phone outlets, several businesses, doesn’t attend night clubs and the night life is definitely not for him. He’s married with kids. This guy and several others relies on yahoo yahoo to survive .

If we scold yahooboys , let’s also remember the Nigerian economy, unfavorable standard of living, made the boys do what they do today.

They’re the lesser devils , instead of kidnapping , murder and armed robbery, these boys chose to scam the white people.

If I’m to choose between an armed robber and a yahoo boy . I’ll gladly go for the lesser devil( yahoo yahoo).

Why the blackmails all because he is a pastor? Must he publicly announce and feign his pains on the sad events that have plagued the country.

Haba! Guys, let's try and blend emotions with reason. We have no clear proof that Osinbajo is apathetic on these issues. Its not until he comes on air to shed tears.

Though this story is being overflogged.I try to learn from every situation.
Of the three or four things that King Solomon couldn't decipher, this is one of them

THE WAY OF A YOUNG MAN WITH A MAID.

Going Further, Jesus spoke about a man selling all he has to purchase a field that has a great treasure.
Though, Davido would like to be seen as one who doesn't give a hoot, somewhere in his heart he longs for someone who would be homely.Forgive his past and help him to be him.The one who isn't ashamed to love, one who wouldn't want to keep babymamas, one who wants to SPEND THE REST OF HIS LIFE WITH A WOMAN...
This Lady seems to be the closest he can get.If the Lady is wise ,WHEN Married to Him could be a great influence on him.

I hope some ladies living in denial would learn. Forget the noise and lies.Men love someone who would help them to be saner not troubled. They need a HELPmeet not extraLABOUR.
I'm sure Davido wouldn't mind living in the desert if he considers her a FAVOUR not LABOUR.

Now,I'll take another turn. What will happen if Davido gave the N45M to a Church?Would we say leave him at least he can afford it?Would you say it's because he hadn't seen prettier women in his life?
Summary,When a man has found what he loves he isn't ashamed to identify with it,even if the things seems not to be profitable he cares less.
LOVE is deeper than feelings. It is also commitment.

My brother...it's our duty to expound the truth. Many people do the right things but not with a perfect heart.Fine, some are fleecing the flock but that won't stop us from giving to God willingly. We must be careful not to cause people to stumble.Walking with God is by revelation. I encourage people to read the Bible themselves.
There are somethings that God reveals personally to me...prolly to prune me.Initially, I thought it's for broadcast but I'm learning. When I see things in the Church I challenge it .Sometimes I pen it down on the Church Whatsapp group. We are watchmen but we must be careful not to rejoice in iniquity.
The revival that will happen is not about the tithe noise.Men will find God themselves and swell the army.Administration and serving of tables will give way for the ministry of the Word and Prayers.
obailala:
Do you agree with me that one of the greatest issue that brings mockery to the church in Nigeria is the inordinate focus on financial gain?

Abraham tithed willingly, Jacob tithed willingly, they were never under any compulsion or commandment to do so. Of course there's nowhere in the new testament where 'freely' giving a tithe was abolished; but rather, what was abolished following Christ's sacrifice on the cross was the mandatory requirement for believers to tithe regularly in order to please God. This message is very clearly documented in the new testament, there is no longer a curse which follows a person who for whatever reason, does not give a tenth. So why does the church in 2018 now blatantly go contrary to this clear message preached by the Apostles?

Can you not see that this issue of preaching mandatory tithing, not only is it depriving believers of their blessings they would have gained if they gave freely, it is also one of the biggest magnets of mockery to the church especially as its an issue which concerns money?...

What is wrong if the church simply just teaches the truth as it is in the bible?... Will God no longer provide for His church if pastors preach the truth about this controversial topic?... Recently, pastor Sam Adeyemi of Daystar mentioned that the mandatory tithing law and the curses attached to non-tithing as was written in Malachi does not apply to new covenant believer; he further went ahead to mention that if you tithe however, there are blessings tied to it. By speaking the simple truth, do you think that would prevent any if his tithing members to quit?... Absolute NO! So why is the truth too difficult for some really big ministers to preach?... Can't ypu see how that is the real deal bringing mockery to the church?

Christianity Etc › Re: RCCG Pastor Mike Nwanegbo: "God Banned Friend’s Wife From Heaven Over Tithe" by derecho(m): 4:28pm On Apr 17, 2018
No one supports falsehood. This matter is simple. What law was it that Abraham followed when he tithed? Was it not voluntarily? Did you remember, one of the disciples that went with Paul to Jerusalem and he had to do something so the Jews would listen to him?
My point??
Giving to God is good and should be done cheerfully not grudgingly or of a necessity. There is no place in the new testament where tithing was abolished. Christ only said there are weightier matters of the Law.God spoke about somethings He doesn't want anymore eg vain oblations, incense etc but reminded them of robbing Him not only in Tithes but Offerings.
I personally feel there are things we Christians,
not churchgoers, shouldn't argue about. Why begrudge people who feel about tithing apart from offering? Is this the revival we are longing for? How many times have decided to bombard nairaland with The Message of the Cross instead we tear ourselves on trivial issues. If only we use this same fervour to Declare JESUS IS THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE and talk about salvation....
obailala:
My brother, there is nothing wrong with giving to God, but there are also many ways to give to God besides tithing. I will repeat this again for emphasis, there is everything good about giving to God. But when Apostle Paul in the book of 2Corinthians 9:7 taught the new believers about giving, he made it very clear that they were bound by no law to give any specific amount or percentage.

You asked if tithing was unbearable - Apostle Peter in the book of Acts 15:5-10 was referring to the entire Mosaic Laws as unbearable; tithing was just 1 very little part of it.

You said tithing predates the Mosaic Laws - You are very right about that, but every other tithing which took place in the scriptures were voluntary; the Mosaic Law concerning tithing was the only form of tithing which was mandatory and which had grave consequences if broken (i.e. Malachi 3:8-10).

Under the new covenant, the bible made it VERY VERY clear that new covenant believers are no longer bound by the MANDATORY Mosaic laws, of which tithing according to Malachi 3:8-10 was a part.

So the question I ask is, if the Apostles who started the church through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit preached to the people that they are no longer under any mandatory requirements to tithe or comply by numerous other unbearable Mosaic laws, why then are pastors in the world now preaching that tithing is mandatory for a believer to make heaven?... Cant you see the falsehood and dishonesty in that?... If you arent worried about pastors telling an obvious lie to raise money by threatening believers with a condemnation to hell if they dont pat a certain amount, then that's really worrisome.

Summary of my message is, it is good to give to the church as the church needs money for its operation. But it's evil to preach lies an falsehood to people to make them part their money. Do you know how many believers are made to lose their blessings daily simply because they give out of fear of condemnation instead of out of love?

Philippians 4:8 New International Version (NIV)

Christianity Etc › Re: RCCG Pastor Mike Nwanegbo: "God Banned Friend’s Wife From Heaven Over Tithe" by derecho(m): 3:55pm On Apr 17, 2018
I don't argue but discuss. The issue on ground is,IS TITHE SCRIPTURAL OR NOT?
As Christians We read both New and Old testament. Those practices to be done away with were highlighted. For example, the killing of rams to atone for sins.Secondly, Where Jesus needed to clarify things He didn't hesitate.
No one is forcing you to obey scriptures but if you choose to,it must be in God's own terms NOT How you feel like it.
If you want to Tithe,10% not 1%. God doesn't force anybody to give to Him.Personally, there are somethings I'm ashamed to give to a friend or someone I value.
It is lack of understanding for people to think because some texts are in the Old testament so it's past.
