aQUINandmore:I understand why you feel hurt seeing so many tribes united for peace. Same reason you have so many hidden posts in your catalogue. You are what you represent. Desist from such living. It's unhealthy.

Will people ever rest? All these race to become a developed country over what? To be hunting for excuses to go to war. |
We cannot say we should hide in our homes to keep away from Police trouble. We just pray it doesn't happen to us as we go about our daily lives. I watched this video with my Yoruba best friend. I'm Igbo by tribe. It took a man whose surname is similar sounding to his to condemn his right forelimb. It took an Igbo man to first let people know his situation and to direct him to where the world can hear his story. Help can come from anywhere. I hope we are learning some important lessons. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6JiOzxfdhg?si=Fd4ZsEkI6wk0A82o This is a video story shared by Brekete Family. It is about the ordeal of a Nigerian citizen in the hands of the Nigerian Police Force. Solomon Bawa hails from Ajaga Family in Karo LGA of Nasarawa State. In 2019, he was on his way to repair the tyre of his pickup when he was accosted by the Police who asked him if he knew any Bawa Gambo. He replied in the negative but they asked him to enter their vehicle to follow them to the station at Masaka. On reaching there, they asked about his identity again and he told them his name, Solomon Bawa. After pressuring him to identify as Bawa Gambo and not getting a result, they took away his belt and shoes, then locked him up in a cell until daybreak. He kept asking why he was locked up and got no response. Instead he got beaten and later transferred to State CID, Lafia. Here, he was beaten repeatedly and forced to identify as Bawa Gambo or tell them the whereabouts. An Igbo trader who saw him, travelled to Solomon's home on his behalf, to inform his family of what is going on. His mother came to attest that his name is Solomon but was given no attention. Instead, he got beaten by one Inspector Usman Amgbashi to the extent that he got his forehead injured and lost his entire right arm to shrinking and paralysis. Another Policeman, Inspector Ado Bature, advised him to accept the identity of Bawa Gambo or face more beating, especially as it was getting too much and may lead to his death and nothing will happen. Solomon had to accept, in the hopes that when he gets to court, he can explain himself. But this was not to be as he spent some months there. The only visitor he frequently had, his mother, died about 2 months after he had been held at the State CID. After then, no one visited anymore and Solomon could not help crying everyday, at his loss. He was then transferred to Lafia Prison without being charged to court. He spent about 3 years in prison until he met with the Comptroller and explained his situation and ill-health. He was then transferred to Keffi Prison, where he spent another year but was getting some form of treatment on the now deformed hand. Respite came in the form of a human rights lawyer, Barrister C.Y. Masha, who listened to his story when she came to the Prison. She took it upon herself to verify his identity by going to his hometown and retrieving his certificates, then pursued the matter until he was due to appear in court. It turns out that the said 'Bawa Gambo' had already appeared and bailed himself at the State CID while Solomon remained imprisoned. After the first court session, the police never showed up again, despite Musa making multiple appearance with his lawyer, Barrister C.Y. Masha. He was then asked to provide two surety so he can be bailed, which he did. He went to retrieve his phone from State CID. He saw Inspector Usman Amgbashi, approached him and greeted him. He proceeded to tell him that he came for his phone but was warned never to step his foot there again or get beaten. On October 4, after another no-show at the courts by the Police, he was advised by the same Igbo trader to go to Brekete Family to tell his story and possibly, get justice. Today, the matter is being handled by the IGP himself, who called for a thorough investigation. It's a bag of mixed fortunes ahead for Solomon, who now has to get justice with a deformed right hand, a permanent scar on his head, a late mother and four years of his life gone 'for nothing' Police Reaction Recall a recent viral video highlighting allegations of injustice and brutality? Today, the IGP took personal interest and attended to the case. Mr. Bawa accused police operatives at Nasarawa CID of wrongful detention and brutality. The IGP promptly ordered a team at FHQ to thoroughly investigate this matter, ensuring swift action for justice. Rest assured, justice will prevail. Thank you.https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0VJuLwShsQHJPwp7sE8X8sSvEPnSs1KLdV3tB6UJ666tevpZncDT79pVn7JGJPnhyl&id=100064453009372&mibextid=2JQ9oc

Does the Attorney General of the Federation know that this is against the UN Convention against Terrorist Financing? |
aviara:Which is crazy. Lagos as a state is the only state that owes over $1 billion dollars in external debt. No other state comes close to half of Lagos' debt. It's also the same domestically, with Lagos owing close to a trillion naira in domestic debt. Again, no other state comes close to half of Lagos' debt. We know how taxed we are here in Lagos and to be honest, all these IGR talk is beginning to look like hogwash because the debts have been mounting every quarter. Then you'd see stupid things like these in their expenditure. |
Raskimonojendor:Well, this person has been on twitter for over a decade now and has been a ronu-activist, long before this election cycle. You may as well stop looking for goalposts to hang your towel on. He's doing the 'Ronu' as we have come to identify it, and no one is really surprised. Azpekullar called it and so it was. |
azpekuliar:Well, you see the future as what you just said happened on the same thread. Someone told him to leave the issue for the 'true sons of Lagos'.

Interested in this; and a substitute of bread. By and by, bread is becoming the most expensive food item my family consumes in a month 🥲 It has bypassed everything we spend on in a month. Everything. |
Some of the expenditures which call for further scrutiny are itemised in the images below: 👉 40bn awarded for a Blue Line operator that is not yet named. 👉218bn awarded for Phase 2 of the Blue Line project when the Phase 1 is yet to begin full operations despite being 12 years behind schedule after consuming 70bn. 👉Billions awarded to specific companies AEC & Iroko Capital for operations that can cause conflict of interest and should be way cheaper 👉 70bn for repair and upgrade of a section of an existing road. This amount is half the budget for Ministry of works. 👉 10bn for an IPP that was originally intended to be financed by the concessionaire but somehow finds its way into LASG expenditures. 👉 Support Services to the tune of 8bn which exceeds the parent agency, LASRRA's budget two and a half times over. 👉 2bn for provision of rechargeable fans, rechargeable bulbs and fridge for Office of the Deputy Governor. 👉 7m for air fresheners (diffusers).

I just wrote an open letter to the Governor on Public Procurement awards reported by LASG for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2023, highlighting a number of issues for further scrutiny and remedial action. Judicious use of public funds is always important, and is especially so now. - Funso Doherty

You probably don't know what's up with her. Just give her the space she needs. It's not easy for any of our young people that goes out there. I have quite a number of family members and friends out there and for some of them, I happen to listen to their stories while sorting themselves out. It's okay to listen to their rants as they don't have as much listening ear over there. It is also frustrating for me as I can't do much to help out. But if there's one thing I learnt, it's not to hold their absences against them in their early days. They need it a lot. |
Entprys:This is disgusting, to be honest. A Ghana industry alluding to Nigeria's supremacy in Music and you managed to squeeze out tribal juice from it. How low can you go? |
To be a man is not a day's job. |
bigdawg7:🤣🤣🤣 Now that I think of it. They always drop their album when December is around the corner 🤣 |
bigdawg7:Truer words have never been said. Fellow artists struggled to measure up. |
I enjoyed Bizzy body more, I think; When I was in the peak of my youthful exuberance and debauchery 🤣

This country is in the same shoes as Nigeria; weakening currency, waning economy and a crushing debt burden. Malawi's government have risen up to the reality of their crushing debt profile and waning economy by cutting costs, as any country under such conditions would. Their external debt is about 80% of their nation's GDP. Although their population is around 20 million, the government have put in place, drastic actions to cut losses, look inwards and stabilize the economy. In comparison, Nigeria's exteral debt is edging towards 70% of our GDP, having being on a meteoric rise in the past few years. With a population over 10 times what Malawi will have to deal with, there are no strict measures in place yet to curtail wasteful ventures as the last budget unveiled by the government contained a lot of frivolous items, not in tune with today's realities. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PT174DV28M?si=Wdjb6GeWXsMijK2X President Lazarus Chakwera announced austerity measures aimed at healing the economy. Malawi is battling an economic crisis that has led to fuel shortages, inflated food prices, and a shortage of foreign exchange. Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera has suspended all foreign trips by government officials, including himself. The move, announced in a nationally televised address on Wednesday night, was part of what he called tough measures to heal the nation’s economy. He also directed all ministers who are currently outside the country to return home and said the suspension will be in place until March next year. “Any travel deemed absolutely necessary by anyone during that period must be submitted to my office for my personal authorisation,” Chakwera said. The president unveiled a range of austerity measures, including cutting by 50 percent fuel entitlements for cabinet ministers and senior government officials. He would lead by example by curtailing his travel plans, including cancelling his attendance at the COP28 climate change conference in Dubai later this month. As part of the measures, he also directed the minister of finance to include provisions for a reasonable wage increase for all civil servants in the midyear budget review. And he ordered a lowering of income tax on individuals, so that workers whose incomes have lost value are helped with a “lower tax burden”. nlfpmod, Mynd44 https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/16/malawis-president-suspends-foreign-travel-for-himself-and-cabinet-members

SMUAG:Done. And I still ask, do what? You may choose not to answer, if that's just a rebuttal for rebuttal sake. |
iammo:Exactly! Now you have arrived 😎 |
iammo:You're not interested in good money? Because I am certain such 'good' money hustle isn't one of your top 20 options to earn a living. |
Segxydube:Create goals. |
SMUAG:Do what? |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVnzErdH9j4?si=zOQeANdzGSzk59F5 If all that being in the corridors of power, all these years, could not be used to better their collective life choices, then, what's all that political weight for? |
Same here. I like the idea of a person that can do all, anywhere and everywhere. He may not watch football, but he has heard of the name. |
Politicstoday:Yeah. I remember reading the same stuff from the Onnoghen proponents. Like I said, that's the problem with precedence. |
Politicstoday:You don't mean it? Remember Onnoghen, the one-time Chief Justice of Nigeria? Remember how he was removed? That's the problem with precedence. |
I'll like to understand the point of naming companies as the defendants, thanks in advance. EnvyandHate:Not so sure about that, but an obvious disconnect between your brain and your thumb to include Lent/Advent attires to your collection. |
