Bekwarra:u need to listen to the song. |
This year keeps getting better. Remember we talked about the Entertainment industry and its publicity stunts. Barely had the peace treaty between Davido and his baby mama signed that the Remix of Humblesmith’s Osinachi remix featuring Davido dropped. The HKN boss actually called out his baby mama and Dele Momodu in his verse of the song. What happens next, we don’t know. See his verse below.. [Davido – Verse 1] my humble father sinachi my loving daughter sinachi mo my baby mama sinachi Dele momodu sinachi mo No be by force to go dubai abi na wetin cause the fight and i just dey my own dey laugh e because God dey my side they want to take way my favour they want to spoil my career them no know say I get flavour unitax in nabania I forgive and i forget baba God know the rest my papa just buy jet am about to take off everywhere oh …In case you haven’t heard the song, please listen here… http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/09/epic-dele-momodu-responds-to-davidos-call-out-on-twitter/ |

I always wonder what the essence of listening to music is, when all we get is just the loud sound of the beat. Sometimes, you notice the beat and the lyrics don’t synchronize. All we get is just a ‘danceable noise’. I guess that suits the situation of the countrymen. Abami Eda rightly described us when he posited that we are a people given to ‘suffering and smiling’. Those that know me in person, know that I am not a music critic, so this is not about any song or ‘songster’, far from it. This past week, I was watching a magazine programme on NTA Network News after so many years of avoiding state owned TV stations. The programme is one my father made us watch while growing up. It was truly a great watch, then. Stop the guessing game, the programme is ‘Newsline’. I wanted to watch a movie I collected from my very good friend but daddy was glued to the TV though we agreed that I will take over in the next 10 minutes. So it was, but before then the presenter said something about the national anthem that caught my attention. Few days before that blissful Sunday, I was asking my enactus teammates about the essence of the songs we always hear at enactus’ programmes nationwide. None of them answered though and the topic was buried. It was a painful thing so I decided I will get another opportunity to talk about it. So the presenter made us understand that she went into the streets and asked people about the national anthem. They were asked to recite it, lo and behold, just like you have rightly guessed they all faltered. I was embittered when a primary school student recited hers and she disappointed me. The anger in me transferred to my face and my dad saw my reaction. Now my attention was divided, everyone around me was trying to recite the anthem and the national pledge. I was not worried about them because over 15 people were interviewed and only 2 or 3 people did get it right, so I said to myself ‘what difference will the 4 people in this room make?’ Surely they made a difference, except for my sister every one of them stopped at the first stanza and the national pledge. Another question arose. The presenter asked those she interviewed THE ESSENCE OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. Annoyingly a gentleman said in a gracious manner that the national anthem is an opening song during state functions and so it is of no importance. Enraged is the least word to describe my state. I could not behold it and same was the countenance of the beautiful presenter. So I asked myself, what is the essence? ‘Arise o compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey’… The anthem didn’t just call on Nigerians, it asked them to obey the call of the country as a colleague, a national and a citizen. That is the essence, to heed the call of the land, to solve the nation’s problem. The labour of heroes past shall be in vain if we do not heed this clarion call. I know what you are thinking, it seems Nigeria’s problem is unique and can’t be solved. No it is not, you may not be able to do it individually but you can be a part of the solution. My kind of call for a change of mindset is a way of being a part of the solution. Find a way too. Join the crusade and be the change you want to see. ‘Flourish wherever you are established’ is an advice a friend will always give. The essence of the national anthem is to always remind us that we have a duty to this nation but it seems our heroes past didn’t even bother to give us the message. They were so concerned about the music. Since the 2nd week of July, I have always made it a point of duty to listen to 3 songs that I think every youth in this nation that want to see positive change should know by heart. It is not about the artiste(s) or the beat but the message contained therein. Permit me to tell you what I believe in. I want to see a Nigeria where these songs will be rendered at the start and end of every function or at least, help change the mindset of Nigerians. These songs are the least popular but I believe can do a lot for this nation. The songs are ‘I believe’ by Nikki Yanofsky, ‘The Future’ by TY Bello and ‘Great Nation’ by Timi Dakolo. Listen to these songs, learn the lyrics and I know like it changed me, it will drive you towards thinking about the possibility of a better Nigeria. Thank you for reading but please listen to those songs and let me know your view. We’re a nation: undivided and poised. We will take our stand: and build our land With faith: to defend what we love - Timi Dakolo said. See http://deedeesblog.com/category/features/ for more.... |

"Your husband’s mum came in today to remind you of the need to give her grandchildren and this time she was very unpleasant in her approach…” This, and many more are some of the reasons for strained relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law which in most cases leads to the fear factor in the mother-in-law/ wife relationship. Some ladies are also scared of the level of scrutiny their boyfriend’s mom pose when it is time to be introduced as a girlfriend or even as a fiancee. This amongst other reasons are why most ladies pray for the demise of their mother-in-laws before they are married. Perhaps, it may sound funny to some people, but nobody wantS their mother dead not especially your husband or husband to be. So, that should not be the first thing on your mind, if you are the type having issues with your iya oko. In this article, we would examine some practical reasons why ladies are scared of their mother-in-laws. During courtship, some ladies see signs it will not be a good relationship between they and their mother-in-laws but they are too blinded by love to correct this early before marriage, so they risk the consequences of this oversight. No need overemphasizing, where you have noticed some coldness from your mother-in-law during dating or courtship, if you cannot get her to your side, darling no need going into such marriage. The consequence is more killing than the consequences of breakup. Such dislike from the mother-in-law before marriage can be traced to difference in social background, ethnic differences and in some cases first impression grudge. At this point, it is easy to redress such dislikes and cope with its positive or negative outcome, if not, bet you, the lady may have to avoid the mother-in-law even in her marriage. Avoiding your mother-in-law who portends trouble for you in marriage can be a result of childbirth delay, which in most cases is often misconstrued as the woman’s fault. Herein the husband has a lot to do to convince his mum of the assurances that the lady is very alright medically to have a child and efforts are being made to have her conceive soon. In this circumstance, the lady will do everything to avoid her mother-in-law until the good news is news. Avoiding one’s mother-in-law is not the best way to deal with problems with mother-in-law. However, if it is possible to avoid a difficult mother-in-law to periodic occasions and landmark celebrations like festive events, family occasions, then the better it is for a smooth relationship between you two. Mother-in-laws can be very wonderful and all loving, if a lady is lucky to have a loving and wonderful and loving one. Doing everything possible to maintain the good side of a mother-in-law is a task as easy as keeping your man’s love. A lady who constantly has problems with her husband tilting towards family interference may not have a good face with her mother-in-law, hence avoiding her whenever possible. Some ladies lack good manners and interpersonal relationship, such that they cannot cohabit well with their mother-in-law , even during visits. This is an attitudinal reason, which if not corrected early, may cause malice between a lady and her mother-in-law. Handling a difficult mother-in-law is not such an herculean task. It is not insurmountabl, and the Monster-in-law movie starring Jennifer Lopez will easily come to mind for those who want to try harder. However, if it’s not working, draw your man’s attention to the situation. And if his involvement in the matter is still not helping matters, my dear if you can’t beat them, then walk away. Go on being beautiful, review your mistakes and work on areas of your life that needs improvement, and see how another classy man comes and sweep you off your feet; from a respectable family, of course. Remember, do not wish anybody death: mother-in-law or whoever. You might be on your way to being a murderer yourself. http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/06/why-ladies-are-scared-of-their-mother-in-laws/

Read the statement from Femi below… I read with amusement the allegation that was made in saharareporters, the unofficial media wing of the Buhari administration, the SSS and the EFCC,, that I was given 1.7 billion naira cash by President Goodluck Jonathan. This is false. A few hours later they changed their story and said that I received 1.7 billion naira from the office of the former NSA, Colonel Sambo Dasuki. This is also false. I have never received one kobo from President Jonathan himself, Colonel Dasuki or any other member of President Jonathan’s government. I have not ever been in receipt of any public funds and neither was I the beneficiary of any payments in cash, transfer, cheque or otherwise from any government official during the tenure of President Jonathan. As Director of Media and Publicity of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign organisation, I received money on behalf of the Directorate of Media and Publicity which I headed from private individuals and companies during the election campaigns but these were not public funds but rather private contributions specifically for the Presidential and other campaigns. Such moneys were transfered into my account by the Director of Finance of the Presidential Campaign Organisation and that account was SPECIFICALLY set up for the purpose of running the publicity and media aspect of the campaign for the whole country and my Directorate. These private individuals and companies paid their contributions into a designated account which was provided and controlled by the Director of Finance and from there she transferred it to the accounts of the various Directors and various individuals that were running for public office that the PCO supported. The money that was sent to me for my Directorate by the Director of Finance was used in a lawful and responsible manner and by the time the campaigns were over my Directorate had paid all of its bills for services rendered and was not owing any media house or anyone else one kobo. The Presidential candidate of our party President Goodluck Jonathan, the D-G of the PCO, the Auditor of the PCO, the Advisor to the PCO and the Director of Finance of the PCO all received reports and saw the results of the efforts of my Directorate. Not only were they satisfied with our efforts but they also commended us. Those private individuals and companies that were kind enough to support and fund President Jonathans presidential campaign with their hard earned money were perfectly within their rights to do so and they were more than happy with our efforts as well. They also commended us. Even though we ended up losing the election we fought a very virile, strong, visible, historic and aggressive campaign and the Nigerian people can attest to this. The encounter with the APC was an epic one and it was probably the most active and gruelling electoral battle in the history of our country. Not one kobo of public funds was spent by or given to my Directorate during the campaign and as far as I am aware not one kobo of public funds was spent by or given to the PCO. Presidential campains all over the world cost huge amounts of money and Nigeria is no different. This is especially so when it comes to publicity and media. My Directorate was difficult to run and our work was capital intensive. We did not use marshmellows, pebbles and grass to pay for all the services rendered to us and all the television and newspaper adverts were fully paid for with money. Nothing was done or given to us free of charge by anyone. This should not be a surprise to anyone as the APC and President Buhari’s campaign organisation did the same. I opened an account specifically for the funds that were used to run my Directorate and fund all our activities in order to ensure accountability and transparancy. We also audited our accounts regularly and insisted on the highest level of professionalism from all those that worked for or with us. Since when such matters have become a crime or subjects of criminal investigations I dont know. If it was a crime to speak up for Jonathan during the campaign they should just say so. If it is a crime to be a member of the PDP and to be in opposition they should just say so. If it is a crime to speak up for and defend President Jonathan and key members of his government after he has left office they should just say so. If it is a crime to oppose the Buhari administration and speak up against his gross violations of human rights that they are indulging in and the violation of court orders they should just say so. During the 2015 elections the PCO and my Directorate spoke up and campaigned for many PDP members who were runing for public office and we funded and worked for them too. That was our job and I am very proud of the PCO and the role we all played despite limited resources. I am particularly proud of the efforts of my team at the Directorate and I can assure all those that care to listen and that refuse to be misled by the government propaganda machine that we did nothing wrong. All we did was run an effective campaign and we did so with private funds and not funds from the government. I am aware of the attempt by the government and my enemies to discredit me, smear my name and silence me by alleging all manner of wrongdoing but I am not in the least bit perturbed. As always my innocence will fight for me and my God will never forsake me. I know that this government is capable of doing anything, of inducing anyone to say anything and that they have no sense of decency, justice or fairplay. They are prepared to charge anyone just for breathing the air if needs be and they can attempt to frame up anyone that they believe is a thorn in their flesh. I have always known this yet I refuse to run away or to be silenced and I will not be cowered. Though I have been warned and told over and over again by those amongst them who care for my well being that I have been listed down and targeted for persecution, I am not in the least bit concerned about their evil plans for me. My life and destiny is in the hands of God and not theirs and He will fight for me and vindicate me. As I have always said, the night may be dark but joy comes in the morning. If it was a crime to use moneys that were freely donated by private individuals from lawful and legitimate sources to fund the Presidential and other campaigns let them say so. No election campaign anywhere in the world, including that of President Buhari was run with just words, goodwill, grass and pebbles and neither were we given free campaign adverts or air time. All these things were run and paid for with large sums of money. This is especially so with publicity and media because that was the lifeblood of the various campaigns. I repeat, there is nothing that we did in the campaign organisation or that my Directorate did that Lai Mohammed, Buhari and the APC did not do in theirs. As a matter of fact they spent far more than we did but I have no idea where they got their money and whether they were private or public funds. Most importantly my Directorate and, as far as I am aware, the Jonathan Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation did not receive ANY public funds from any government official or office to run our campaign. Of this I am absolutely sure and I am very confident because I made a point of asking and insisting that this must be so. These are the facts and I eagerly await my accusers, persecutors and detractors. Meanwhile I shall continue to live my life in peace, I shall not be intimidated by the boastful threats of the enemy and I will continue to live my life in the usual law-abiding manner that I have always done. It is expedient and necessary for me to speak out now even though the EFCC has not said a word on this matter or even confirmed that there is indeed an investigation going on. This is because the modus operandi of the Commission of late is to leak their intentions to saharareporters before they strike and abduct their victims. This has happened on a number of occasions and sadly they use such mediums to tell all manner of lies about the case and the accused to the public. By the time they finish they would have convicted their victim in a vicious smear campaign and media trial which is usually plagued and fuelled by lies and falsehood. It is for this reason that I have taken this opportunity, whilst I am still at liberty, to tell the Nigerian people the truth and let them have all the facts. I sincerely hope that my statement will help to clarify matters in the eyes of the public regardless of whatever lies that they will soon be inundated with by a desperate, weak and wicked government. I fear them not because my life is in God’s hands. God bless Nigeria. http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/07/dasuki-gate-femi-fani-kayode-releases-statement-on-efccs-investigation-of-1-7-billion-naira-received/ |
As a married man, the first critical thing is understanding what temptation is. Temptation is a strong urge or desire to have or do something: especially something that is bad, wrong, or unwise. You have the inclination of that particular thing being wrong yet there is the strong urge to complete it. The irony of temptation is that it comes, anywhere, anytime and in different phases. I have always have the urge for Coca-Cola despite the fact that it makes me fatter and add more sugar to my levels, yet there is temptation to have a go at a litre bottle. I have a friend whose temptation is shirts; he has enough, yet wants to buy more and more of it. There is always a force behind being tempted. It could be as a result of our attraction to things and people around us. Sometimes it is always our desire and cravings that gets the better of us, and then we end up in the loop which happens over and over to the point of regret. Temptation is an endless process, it just keeps coming without stopping. There is a latest trend out here now which is the sudden rise of young girls dating married men. The usual understanding and conviction is that married men, seem to be more mature and fathom how to treat ladies.images (1) These married men who have committed themselves to being together forever with their spouses, suddenly develops this urge to explore, be on the look-out for variety carved out by the sudden influx and attention created by these ladies. Not helping matters is the popular saying, Variety is the spice of life. While it may be fine to be tempted into buying things you possess if it can be afforded. It is a different ball game when you are married and then tempted to enter into another relationship with people as a result of their irresistibility. The attraction may be fierce enough to lure you into the prospect and actually having her in your life. I have met with a lot of married men, who are currently sitting with loads of young women as girlfriends and bed mates. Statistics have shown that a lot of older married men, especially those who are 15 years and above into their marriages have had ladies who play second fiddle to their wives. These men have carved out a niche for themselves in ‘relieving’ their wives of sexual duties by placing responsibilities on these so called females not minding whatever happens to the mental, emotional and sexual life of their partners.images As a married man, have you ever faced temptation, have you ever been thrown a pass by a young girl, or even older married women? How did you deal with it? Are you currently in that situation right now. Please see below tips to assist you in fighting temptation. http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/06/lead-us-not-into-temptation-tips-for-married-men/
