Social media may seem to be a way to make and maintain hundreds of friendships. But University of Oxford research, supported by Dorset bakers Thomas J. Fudge’s, suggests that the constraints that limit the number of friends we have offline also apply online. The study is published in the journal Royal Society Open Science. Offline, research has given rise to what’s called the Social Brain Hypothesis. This says that our brain’s ability to process multiple relationships creates a natural group size for humans of 100 — 200 people. This size is also constrained by the time required to maintain relationships — we only have so much time to devote to meeting or talking to people. It has been suggested that social media might overcome the constraints because posts, tweets and pictures allow us to talk to many more people at the same time even if the interaction is not direct. So psychologist Professor Robin Dunbar carried out two surveys of more than 3300 people to see whether using the internet really means we can have more friends. What he found was that even among regular social media users, the average number of friends they had on Facebook was 155 in the first survey and 183 in the second, right in the bracket predicted by the Social Brain Hypothesis. Women had more friends than men (In the first sample, women averaged 166 and men just 145 friends; in the second, it was 196 vs 157), while — perhaps unsurprisingly — older generations had fewer friends than younger ones. The first survey group, made up of regular social media users, considered only 28% of their Facebook friends to be ‘genuine’ (ie close) friends. When asked specifically how many people they would turn to for support in a crisis and how many they would turn to for sympathy, on average those groups were just 4 and 14 friends respectively, matching the offline findings of the Social Brain Hypothesis. While a few people did have much larger groups of online ‘friends’ on Facebook, they had similar sized support and sympathy groups to others. This suggests that when social media seem to allow someone to have more friends, it is because looser acquaintances were being included in the ‘friend’ category, partly because social media sites tend not to differentiate between close and more distant relationships — even though we clearly distinguish between friends and acquaintances in the offline world. Professor Robin Dunbar explained: ‘Social media certainly help to slow down the natural rate of decay in relationship quality that would set in once we cannot readily meet friends face-to-face. But no amount of social media will prevent a friend eventually becoming ‘just another acquaintance’ if you don’t meet face-to-face from time to time. There is something paramount about face-to-face interactions that is crucial for maintaining friendships. Seeing the white of heir eyes from time to time seems to be crucial to the way we maintain friendships.’ Sue Fudge, Director at Thomas J. Fudge’s said: ‘Although social media may seem like the perfect way to make and maintain friendships, this research shows that face-to-face interaction is essential for truly authentic relationships and that shares, selfies and ‘likes’ are no replacement for the bonding that takes place whilst sharing food, experiences and anecdotes.’ http://deedeesblog.com/2016/02/01/how-face-to-face-still-beats-facebook/

Pep Guardiola will take over as Manchester City Manager from Manuel Pellegrini after it was confirmed that Pellegrini would leave ManCity at the end of the season. Guys, what do you think? Manchester City will dominate England for the next couple of years? |
As children we’re taught to just say no, and we do it with abandon. Want to come inside and get ready for dinner? No! Want to shut off the TV and go shopping? No! Want to wear that holiday sweater grandma bought you last year? You know where this is going. Then we get older and learn about etiquette. We get that sometimes we need to do things that we don’t want to. We understand that other people’s feelings matter and we need to consider them before making decisions. What we don’t always learn is how to find a balance between doing for others and doing for ourselves. We say we value our time, but it’s difficult when we field a million requests through email, IM, and text. We know we need to hold our ground if we want to be productive—or stay sane—but we don’t want to disappoint anyone, or even worse, leave them hanging when they need us. It’s important to offer compassion and make sacrifices, but being everything to everyone will eventually backfire. At some point you won’t have much left to give. You’ll go through the motions, but you’ll feel exhausted. You’ll give your attention, but it will be distracted. You’ll say you don’t mind, but you’ll feel resentful. Decide today what time and activities you need to do for you, and then make sure to do them. If someone makes a request that conflicts, unless it absolutely requires immediate attention, tell you them you’d love to help but you have something important planned. Whatever it is, it is important. You can only be strong and useful for the people around you if you honor your needs as much as theirs. If you really want to make them happy, do what you need to do for you—because people who love you want to please you just as much as you want to please them. www.deedeesblog.com |

I feel so bad right now, to the point that I had to create hashtags on Twitter to voice out how terrible I feel with the present situation of the Nigerian state. The political and economic situation of the country gets to me each day. This year alone it's been estimated that 2milloon people will lose their jobs. This year alone we have seen how an old government squandered oil money to win elections. This year alone we have seen how politicians use the bible to perpetrate evil. Now, it is obvious that the older politicians have complete disregard for the Nigerian state. It is obvious that if we sit and wait, Nigeria will burn to ashes. The Nigerian youths are so asleep and we do not see the impact, implications and triggering effect of all these happenings! I weep for my country, I cry for my unborn children! Our politicians have now made it look like the youths are not even a part of their plans. Their actions reeks of reckless abandon! We need to put a stop to this level of impunity. The issues of Ekiti state was just one out of so many. You will be shocked this year, more revelations will continue to unfold. The question is must we wait?..... Nigerians, which way to go? Sighs.... #NigeriansArise #WeAretired #WeNeedARevolution #OurShamblesInShambles #ProsecuteAluko

Deedeesblog team with the GM Lagos City Marathon 2016 Deedeesblog team with the GM Lagos City Marathon 2016 The Lagos City Marathon is back with this year promising to be bigger and better. The hugely anticipated event is just a week away, and enthusiasm of Lagosians have continued to increase. Awareness over the last weeks have been on the march up and from observations and interview, the state is ready for this historical event. The Marathon which last held 30 years ago is being re introduced by the Ambode-led government and while noting the fact that the MARE mountain climbing festival in Idanre, Ondo State and Splash FM Ibadan Marathon exposed Nigeria to the world in terms of Nigeria’s capability in hosting international sports events, it also exposed the country’s tourism to the world. Lagos with a population of more than 20 million people is no exception and therefore capable of holding the full marathon for years to come. In an exclusive interview with the General Manager Lagos City Marathon 2016, Mr Yusuf Alli, it was pointed out that the concept of the city Marathon was borne out of the fact that Lagos State can be likened to Dubai and other countries which hold international marathon yearly, and as such the state possess that level of infrastructure and the wherewithal to host such an historic event. Invitations have already been sent to 10 countries with 9 indicating their readiness for the marathon, 50 out of 70 elites athletes have also signed up and obtained visas for the event. There will also be stand by visa processing for last minute cancellation and entries. In terms of full participation, 12000 athletes have signed up for the events, this includes the local populace, local runners in Lagos, some other runners across Nigeria and other countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, Cameroon, Uganda and India. More ath.letes are still expected to turn out since the benchmark for the athletes is 20,000. Mr Alli also informed Deedeesblog that world record holder, Paula Radcliffe endorsed the 2016 event while other international gold medal athletes have already signed up to be a part of the marathon. Apart from participation of the foreign athletes which show that the event is huge and has caught the attention of the world, the influx of runners will also boost the tourism of Lagos, since more participation means more local attraction boost. Response from Lagosians have been impressive as well, with Celebrities and government officials signing up for the the marathon, notable among them are Olamide, Patoranking, Sound Sultan, 100 meter champion Oluseye Ogunlewe, Media Celebrity Jimi Disu amongst others. It is expected that other celebrities would still turn up to be a part of the event. In terms of the traffic situation on February 6, there will be full and partial closure of the routes for this event; from the Teslim Balogun Stadium to the Eko Atlantic City which is the finish line for the 43 kilometer marathon. The race is expected to take off at 7 am Saturday morning and as the last runner leaves each major routes, the road will be opened up to traffic. At Ikorodu road, leading to Gbagada, it is expected that the last runner would be out of that route by 7:30 and as such Ikorodu road will be open to traffic. As these athletes enters into Gbagada, there will be partial closure as the access lane would be used for the race till the athletes gets to km 9 ( AP Filling a Station) where the road will be closed fully to traffic. As soon as the athletes move into the 3rd Mainland bridge, the Gbagada road will be opened to traffic. Same happens on the 3rd mainland bridge entering into Ikoyi, through the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge through Akin Adesola into the Eko Atlantic City. These roads will be closed to traffic for the time when athletes will engage on the road. Sweepers vehicles are in place to note activities and monitor vehicular movement along the road to guide against mishap and ensure that the roads are open as soon as athletes move out. The Medical team are also ready for the event, as the Ministry of Health indicated readiness for the event. All state ambulances would be deployed, and major hospitals along these routes will be on standby. The medical team will also be briefed two days before the event for first aid treatment and attending to athletes along the routes. In terms of security and to forestall fraud during the event, transponders will be attached to the numbers on the jerseys of the athletes, spy cameras will be along the major roads, and also there will be massive doping test for all athletes before and after the event. The marathon which promises to be exceptional have Access Bank as the major sponsor while Eko Atlantic City, Airtel and GSK Nigeria amongst others, are sponsors as well. GSKNigeria gave out 240,000 bottles of water and 40,000 bottles of Lucozade boost which really demonstrates that Stakeholders have come together to make this a landmark event. Expectations are rife and onus will lie on the media to drive this historic event to all parts of the world. The involvement of the media would therefore be key to showing what Lagos state has started doing again. Deedeesblog have already signed up to be a part of the event. What are you still waiting for?

Beyond the biblical message of pride preceding destruction, a relationship filled with pride is bound for destruction. It is thus expedient that partners take conscious effort to eliminate pride in a relationship. Pride is the better half of ego and it is almost impossible not to notice a pride-infested relationship. Pride is not exclusive of gender, it can be exhibited by the guy or the lady in a relationship, and it is easily noticed in either of the partners. Pride can be as a result of various instances like status change, promotion at work, increased income, attaining a new social status or peer influence. When pride is suddenly noticed in a relationship, putting the relationship on hold or quitting may not be the next best solution. Below are some ways one can deal effectively with a relationship plagued with pride. 1) A sudden change of attitude from your partner requires a sudden action. The moment you realize your partner acting differently, do not keep mute. Be smart enough to talk about it with your partner. Ask questions to know what has gone wrong. If you are not doing something well, begin efforts to readjust or at least swallow your pride and apologize to your partner. 2) If your partner is promoted at his/her work place, do not feel bad or jealous, rather be happy and encouraging. Do not make the mistake of seeing it as a personal success, instead see it as a joint success. Readjust to his/her new ways of handling issues as your partner may be getting higher memos to treat on daily basis. This may affect his/her performance at home. Don't call it pride, but because at this stage your support matters most. 3) If a new social status is attained, cherish the humble beginning. When going out to social gatherings, exquisite dinners or classy celebrations, do not sideline your partner. Do not let the ego of your new social status affect your relationship. 4) Humans are naturally embedded with pride. Talk more with your partner as relationship that lacks communication sure will hit the rock. Play more at leisure times and dedicate more time to making the relationship work. It takes two to tango. 5) If a partner begins to advance career wise or professionally, the other partner may start to feel inferior and as a result pride may set in. Work towards developing yourself professionally. No one wants to hang around a static partner. A nagging partner is bad for the relationship. No guy/lady can cope with a nagging partner, you are showing your partner the exit. Learn to discuss issues bothering you with love when you feel there is a change in character. What you think might not be what it is most times. The change might be as a result of an attained status which he needs to re-adjustment to. As the partner, learn to deal maturely with it so it doesn’t lead to pride. Never let someone's value diminish yours. Be brave and smart to know when ego and pride is becoming manifest in your relationship. Keeping silent about it will not do you any good. Love and good communication is vital, do not starve your relationship with it. Have you checked www.deedeesblog.com today?

SurefireAsoOke:See en, the OP just nailed it! I attended the WEst Africa Blogger's conference last week and these issues were mentioned! I have noticed personally that a lot of bloggers do not develop content by researching and spending more time online majorly as a result of the issues mentioned by the OP. Personally I think there is nothing we can do about the epileptic power supply in the country. In the case of data, I think there is a little of a solution to this fact, and it has to do with the support of every stakeholder. Assuming Nigerian Bloggers have a voice; cohesive and congruent, it becomes easy to dialogue with these data/ network carriers, and enter into negotiations with them. Well, I think there is still a long way to go in online publishing and blogging in Nigeria is still not at the point we want it to be. I say to bloggers, if we can conceive something, then we can achieve it! We need a voice. I am Deturla, Deedeesblog.com |
Curiosity they said, killed the cat. What would be said of mine? Curiosity nearly killed the dude? Well it depends on how you see it sha, but I have made up my mind to flee from all appearances of Agbo-Jedi. Once beaten; mine no be twice shy – na forever shy. How I no go shy? Make I kill myself? I was sitting jeje on my own o, tousling with Ela on FIFA 13 when I overheard my paddies gisting about the potency of Jedi-oloyin and how it had helped fix their ailing lower backs. The intensity of their discussion aroused my curiosity. Before I knew it, my fate was sealed. I knew I had to take it. I had been an avid taker of Agbo-Jedi before that moment but I had always limited myself to drinking the gin-soaked ones. Reason; the water-soaked ones had first-class degree in bitterness. While growing up, I had always revolted when it came to drinking agbo for my health. I would rather the sickness kill me than for me to drink that bitter-tasting concoction. So you would understand why I stuck with the gin-soaked Agbo-jedi now that I’m grown. For the ‘butties’ reading this, agbo-jedi is a gin or water soaked herbal drinks used to locally treat Pile or ‘Jedi’ as it is locally called. Jedi is caused not only by sugary drinks but all the midin-midin you guys chop at KFC, Chicken Republic and the likes. I’m quite sure that virtually half of Nigerian average age males are being worried by ‘Jedi’. Ask Wiz-Kid abi na Wizzie be hin name; at least he used to drink Jedi at Iya-nla in those days. The fact that I am an Ikale boy also made it easier for me to drink gin-soaked agbo-jedi. We are natural ogogoro drinkersJ. But to be honest with you sha, it is just an excuse for taking alcohol. Abi!. Back to my story, I don too like to dey digress, make una no vex abeg. Like I earlier wrote, I had limited myself only to gin-concocted Agbo-jedi, so you would understand why my curiosity was aroused when I heard about Jedi oloyin; the herbal mixture prepared with pure Honey. One thing you expect is that it would be ‘sweet’, no be so? Jedi oloyin, as I heard that morning, was very potent; much more effective than all other types of Agbo-jedi, so I decided to go for it. I got directions to the nearest one at Iso-Pako (Timber-shed) at Sango just a little away from the railway tracks and decided to try it out with two other friends. When we got there we were lucky. We met the seller pouring freshly made quantities into Ragolis plastic bottles for sale, so we made up our minds to purchase a whole bottle and take home with us rather than sit at her shed to drink a couple of spoonful. We paid for a whole bottle and was about to leave when she advised us to get home before using it and to ensure that we did not take more HALF OF A TEASPOON per person. We smiled and responded that we were avid drinkers of agbo-Jedi and that taking more than half a teaspoon will not hurt us. She insisted and begged us not to try such at all. We agreed with her so that she would let us be. We eventually walked off winking at one another, knowing fully well that we would definitely go against her advice. The moment we got into the car, Femi uncorked the bottle and took a swig. It tasted good so he took another swig. He passed the bottle to me. I wanted to behave sane, so I used the bottle’s cork as gauge to take two ‘cork-fulls’. Ayo, ever the cool dude, decided against taking it until we got home. My foolishness kicked in as I bought a bottle of Cocacola and started to drink. Femi did the same. A few minutes later, when we were around Mokola flyover, I began to feel uncomfortable. My tummy made so much noise that I wanted to fart. Little did I know that ‘bros’ don start work. “Omo e be like say ds thing don start to dey work o! O ti bere ise kiakia” I quipped while readjusting my buttocks to tilt a side up and release some foul odor into the air conditioned car. I wanted to punish the guys a little before we got home. Don’t crank up your nose o! We never shied away from farting when others were around. We almost always competed for who could fart the most. So farting was never a big deal. Still uncomfortable I belched and farted! I expected a loud noise, alas! I was mistaken. I felt as if something snaking out of my something slowly. Something wet; something…. Indescribable! The wetness spread a little, soaking my boxer shorts! OMG! I realized I had pooped on my body. ‘Ki leleyi?!’ I screamed silently. My boxer shorts was partly soaked with you know what! I struggled to couple myself. I never knew Femi was also in trouble until he suddenly blurted out, encouraging AY to drive faster: “Bobo yii, wa moto yi kia now! O ye ka ti de’le o! O ti slow ju jare” AY could only laugh. He made continual jest of the two of us, giving us the ‘I told you so’ lecture. Me ke? I did not even listen to him. I was concentrated on how to avoid the embarrassment of the sacrilege I had perform right on the back seat. If any of them knew I had done the unthinkable my ears would never hear the last of it. They would torment me till I would almost kill myself. I sat like a quiet cat, gently waiting, hoping and praying that there would be no traffic at Aleshinloye junction. Unfortunately my prayers were not to be answered. The traffic was massive! Even Femi shouted “Yeeeee mogbe o! Kileleyi na?!” We got to Iyaganku area when I could take it no more. As soon as the traffic warden stopped us I alighted and ran inside the police station like a man pursued by demons. Even the Policemen by the station’s entrance took off in opposite directions. I ran to the counter and begged them to allow me use their toilet. The Policeman must have seen and pitied my condition, else he would have turn his back. Ol’ boy, no be small thing o! I no even mind how the place be. I spent more than an hour in the toilet, with nothing but watery stuff coming out of the ‘you know where’. My boxers nko? I left d tin inside the toilet ni o! I got to know later that while I ran into the Police station Femi took off after me. Since I was able to get into the toilet before him he had to find another option as his condition did not warrant him waiting. He ran out of the station, crossed the road and dashed behind the shops opposite the Police station. He threw caution into the winds as he pulled his trousers and let out a torrent of poop, not minding if anyone saw him. On our way home neither of the two of us spoke. We were too drained. As for me it felt as if any talk would vibrate my tummy and set it off again. AY laughed till tears came. Me, I no even get hin time. I could not open my mouth, not to talk of getting angry and responding to his taunts. I only continued to pray in my mind that we would get home in time for me to release the new storm that was already gathering again in my tummy. Femi nko? Forget that boy! See big boy dey whimper like pikin. Poopoo reduced him to a nonentity! Getting home was worse. I alighted before AY could open the gate. I just could not wait! If I tried to walk fast I would something rushing in my tummy towards my anus. I would pause and wait for it to subside before continuing to walk. Climbing the stairs nko? Chineke meh!! Climbing the stairs never took more than ten seconds – ever! Ol’ boy it took me more than five minutes o! I would walk and if I feel it, pause until it subsided before walking again. I no even get mouth greet people wey dey greet me for compound. Na God carry me reach toilet o! Walahi no be me waka myself. It took all my willpower to pull down my trousers, thank God day say boxer shorts no dey again, and sit on the toilet seat like a gentleman. The second batch was worse! More than two hours after, I still in the toilet, sweating, groaning and wishing I had listened to that woman. I also heard Femi’s groans from the second toilet. “Aye mi o! Aah! Ta lo ran mi nise oooo! Laye mi, mi o tun mu kini yii mo o!” As funny as it was I could not laugh, I was only concentrated on how I would ‘never-ever’ drink Agbo-jedi, not just jedi-oloyin o, but all agbo-jedi again in my life. As for AY, our experiences taught him a great lesson. He never even touched the bottle, talk-less of taking it. The friends who told us about it nko? See let’s leave that part, I am sure they would never forget what we did to them. But a lot of my other friends fell victim and their stories were way worse. One particularly almost fell off an okada after he took the Agbo-jedi and had to rush home before he died of poopoo. He farted on the Okada and flies swarmed after him. That’s the story for another day sha… I hope soon I will have the time to tell you each of their stories soon. Have fun guys. http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/21/the-chronicles-of-jedi-oloyin/ cc: lalasticlala

The women move from one bar to another showing off their goodies and whoever shows the best ‘one’ gets the most beer. From the comments section of the article it seems to be a popular form of entertainment. According to Daily Sun SA, last Sunday, the girls (pictured) arrived at Strike’s Tavern in Block A, Mabopane, Tshwane where a stokvel was being hosted. Newcomers are often shocked by what they see but the regulars never miss an opportunity to appreciate the show. “We dance to entertain,” said one of the girls. “And we don’t have a problem with dancing naked.” It’s like a contest. They show their stuff to make it easy for the customers. Soon the beer starts flowing fast and the one with the best bum gets the most beer. “They buy booze for us, and yes, sometimes we end up in a bed we’ve never seen before.” one of the girls said. One of the women said they don’t take any notice if there are jealous women in the tavern. “Men appreciate us and if we like them we don’t mind being touched. If they buy the booze, we provide the entertainment,” she said. A woman who said her name was Brenda said they don’t appreciate other women taking to the dance floor. “We get jealous when women we do not know dance. We don’t want them stealing our men. Without our partners these places would be no fun. We don’t mind people talking badly about us, because we are starring here. We are the main attractions and it feels good. Sometimes men fight over us and then we get to choose the one who buys the beers and the ciders.” http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/21/these-women-dance-and-show-off-their-private-parts-to-men-in-exchange-for-beer/

Since 2012 that I started applying for jobs! I have never added referees in CV. The understanding we had back in the days was that adding Referees add credibility and give credence to your CV. But in actual fact and every sense of it, I don't think it could amount to you being called for test or not. Based on consultations with experts in the recruiting business, most recruiters don't have the time to check your referee before you are invited for test! You know ? For graduate trainee positions where more than 100,000 candidates would be called for tests and all. At the first level which is the test stage. Who cares what referee you have indicated! So far you have met the criteria stated for writing test ( which in most cases) are your type and class of degree, then you are very good to be called for the entry level test. Be that as it may, it is important to note that in the event where you have passed a test and then called for interview, you may now decide to update your CV by adding what may be key and sensitive, because at this time, it is now a function of what the recruiter sees including the references and how you can sell yourself. I have never used reference in my CV, and it has stayed that way! That does not stop me from being called for tests and Interviews. Bless |

Police in Scotland are on the lookout for a person who attacked a horse in a field in the New Pitsglow area that took place on Sunday night. The owner of the horse is naturally distraught and has urged other owners in the area to check to see if the animals that they own are in any way injured and if so to get in touch with the police. The horse, named Blaze and is female and it is clear that it was seriously injured had to be put down after the attack and it is known that the animal had also been sexually violated. Zoe Wright, the owner, is putting up a reward of £1,000 for any information that leads the police to the perpetrator and results in their arrest. Zoe posted on Facebook where she said: On the 16th/17th of August between the hours of 9pm and 6am someone came into my horse’s field and stabbed my beautiful old girl Blaze twice in the chest before sexually violating her. Blaze was put to sleep after succumbing to her injuries.” The Facebook page was shared more than 10,400 and she went on further to say that: “My lovely Blaze was the nicest pony; she has been part of our family for 18 years, the complete low-life scum who did this to her needs to face justice for what they have done.” The police have not commented further on this other than to say that they had a report that a horse was injured in the New Pitsglow area and that inquiries are ongoing and appealed for anyone with information to contact them. I am always filled with admiration whenever I enter the city of Ibadan away from the hustle and bustle of Lagos. The City has continued to impress on me the ever growing and increased awareness of the populace; old and young alike in entertainment and night life. There has always been a noticeable trait in the continual springing up of luxury suites, clubs and lounges in Ibadan. This is based on the fact that the populace is beginning to get enlightened and aware of the need for relaxation after hectic work schedules and also the urge to spend reasonable whilst enjoying in luxury at the maximum. One notable thing that has helped this ancient city thus developed are the various tertiary institutions in the city; Lead City University, University of Ibadan, The Polytechnic Ibadan among others which in the last years have been filled with young and trendy undergraduates who that are inclined to explore at every little opportunity. The increasing middle class around town has also boosted the entertainment and relaxation aspects of this city as almost everyone can afford the luxury made available by this relaxation spots and event centres. The last years have witnessed tremendous investment in the entertainment sector of the Oyo State, with statesmen and investors tapping into the available resources to bolster the night life of the city and also make massive return on investment. Looking at the entertainment hemisphere of the ancient city is the now popular Mauve 21, the first and only unique all inclusive events centre in Ibadan which offers top notch experience that is affordable to its customers. Located along Ring Road, one of the most developed areas in Ibadan is the one-stop events and entertainment centre in Ibadan which houses 4 halls; The Imperial, which can accommodate 850 guests in a banquet setting, there is also the Orchid 1 and 2, which accommodates 250 guests in banquet setting and the Mulberry, a theatre setting for 350 capacity. All these halls are fitted with the latest multimedia systems. Mauve 21 also took it a step further by providing 10 luxury rooms with the intention to accommodate the users of the events centre before, during and after their event. For wedding ceremonies therefore, the halls can be used as venue for reception, while the rooms can also be booked by the event users. In the event that the event centre and rooms are booked at the same time by the users of the event centre, then management gives a discount for the rooms. Mauve 21 also possess an executive board room which attempts to also let in the corporate into the facilities the centre possesses. For training, trade shows, conference meetings. There is availability of enough space for the corporate world as well. There is also flexibility around the rooms such that the management would configure rooms to suit the needs of the users. Facilities for conferences are projection screens, movable podiums amongst others. Mauve 21 will be incomplete without the Mauve lounge which otherwise makes Mauve 21 inclusive on its own. There are several activities for the lounge which include Banquet Day where people can come around to enjoy 3 to 5 course meal in Mauve’s restaurant. Also, there is a jazz night, karaoke night, and also live band to listen to as part of relaxation for the customers. There are special VIP sections; with some dedicated to patrons who want to watch live football matches on giant LED screens. The club section of the lounge is classy and there is a vast dining section too. There is also a dedicated smoking section in the lounge and a classy open section outside the lounge entrance where customers can sit and enjoy their drinks in the open to enable them enjoy fresh air. Mauve 21 has now become the choice of people in Ibadan who wants to host any type of parties at moderate prices. Finally is the parking space in the compound which can accommodate more than 200 cars. Impressive you’ll say? I bet you this review won’t be complete unless you visit on your own. Mauve 21 has thrown a new face to events and would be described as one of the biggest celebrity hangout and events centre in Southwest Nigeria. I will score Mauve21 4/5 Click here to check for pictures http://deedeesblog.com/2016/01/17/inside-mauve-21-events-centre/
