deji15: Chinese still have a very large population of poor people, that is why you will find them in Nigeria doing odd jobs. The rest of your trash does not need a reply. In your delusion grandeur, you may think that your parasite is better than the land owner. Most of your people are renting shops and paying rent and royalties to their landlords. The few among you that have properties did not realise that the title to the land is only about 99 years. After that the land reverts back to the owner. Most important is that the Igbos in the SW make more business profit, expand, more than the SW landlord. At the end of the 99 years, the Igbo business man/tenant or his survivors must have made enormous profit that they can buy even the SW landlord and his land. wetin una think: when the war ended, instead of reconstruction as proclaimed by Gowon govt for the southeast region which was the main theatre of war, SW people in the bureaucracy then diverted the reconstruction money to the southwest. Construcion took place in the southwest. Now SW is jealous that Igbos followed that reconstruction money to the SW. |

Chiwude: Which Orlu? Is it my own Orlu or another one. Go and count the number of indigenous industries in Owerri, Onitsha, Aba, P/H and Enugu and tell me who own them. Any industry an Orlu man (Nkwerre, Ideato, Oru, Orsu, Nwangele, Njaba, Isu, et al) builds in Lagos or Abuja, he replicate the same in the East. A good example is Orange drugs. Any Tony Ezenna firm you see in Lagos be rest assured that a similar prototype is in the South-East. Even Finlab you accused also has a branch in Owerri and even intend building a bigger industry in Orlu. So nwoke don't believe all what you hear. Why there are no pronounced industry in Orlu areas you mentioned: Industries go hand in hand with research institutions, like universities and laboratories, where there is pipe-borne water or easy access to water, where there is security, security is normally beefed up where a large population and expensive infrastructures exist. None of these factors that favour industry exist in all the Orlu areas mentioned. |

You've been replicating policies that are 3 decades old- only this time you're spending hard currency on needless travel.
You have ambassadors, several attaches and many nigerians with business interests in all these nations you've visited. Any one of them would gladly represent you and nigeria in whatever forum- unless of course, you deem them as incompetent, untrustworthy or otherwise unfit for the role.
There are retired armed forces' officers who haven't been paid their pensions for some months. Now, rank and file soldiers are allegedly complaining.
Let us forget that you wasted 6 months looking for saints. At least you could've spent the time meeting with fellow stake-holders of this nation to find out how to solve our myriad problems.
Sit down and face your work.
A word is enough for the wise. You ding say Bubu de hear your kind of good words? Bubu came to enjoy life and control oil money after many years out of the corridors of power.

sirade: i share your sentiment. Imo indigenes are fond of investing outside their state.
Majority of Igbos that have investment outside their state are Igbo especially Orlu indigenes
Instead of investing in Imo state they prefer building residential houses, filing station and hotels in owerri and environ.
And this adversely effect the IGR of the state.
Come to Mowe, Ogun state and see a giant facility and industry owned by Finlab an Orlu man you will weep for Imo state. Orlu people run away from Orlu because in Orlu area, there is no government infrastructures to sustain good living and industries - no university for a population of about 2 million youths, no pipe-borne water, no good roads, etc.
Orlu politicians are the most apolitical in Africa. Every year, they shout Orlu zone, use it to contest political offices, when they win, they retire to their posh houses and hotels in Owerri, they build factories outside their homes. |

PhockPhockMan: MEANWHILE

Kanu, through his lead counsel, Chief Chuks Muoma, SAN, vehemently opposed the application which he said grossly lacked merit. He argued that section 36(4) of the 1999 constitution made no provision for masquerades to testify in a trial involving an alleged act of treason. “An accused person under our jurisprudence and justice administration must be confronted with his accusers eye-ball to eye-ball. “My lord we operate an accusatorial system of procedure under the common law. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to have been done. “It is not within common sense to malign and accuse someone in public and apply to try him in the bedroom. Having been accused in public we want to also be tried in public. “We therefore urge this court not to allow masquerades to testify before it. We want to see their faces and ask them questions. As masquerades, how will the court be able to gauge their demeanour and body language? Is it by the rhythm of their dance steps? “The tenets of justice outweigh this application and we urge my lord to reject it. It has no merit whatsoever. Secret trial is for terrorism charge, it is not for the type of offence for which these defendants were charged. “Secret trial does not apply in a case of treasonable felony or involvement in alleged unlawful society. During the trial we will prove to them that we are not an illegal organisation”, Muoma added. Secret Trial? Nnamdi Kanu is not Ken Saro Wiwa. Buhari is copying Abacha's mode - full time. But this is another century; while Buhari still lives in the last century - the century of Buhari's West Germany. Buhari cannot afford to put Nigeria in flames with his secret trial mindset. Even Hitler may not contemplate secret trial. |

Okorocha is supposed to say: "Don't shutdown my Owerri"
Problems of Imo state with Okorocha go beyond his sacking of workers.
Okorocha has vested interest in Owerri because he has his palatial home and businesses. including hotels, in Owerri.
He collects federal allocations of the 27 local government councils and use them to build fancy projects only in Owerri.
OBSESSION WITH STATE CAPITAL.
Okorocha even destroyed state library in Owerri to build new one. Modern State library doesn't exist in any other lga in Imo state.
He built three new stadium-like structures in Owerri which already has Dan Anyiam stadium. No sports stadium exists outside Owerri since Okorocha became governor.
Okorocha now builds new roads where no humans live in Owerri in anticipation of expansion of Owerri. But in other towns in Imo state, roads that Okorocha contractors srarted and abandoned since the last four years hinder movement of people and goods
If Okorocha had left the federal allocations to Imo 27 lgas in the last five years, the state should have recorded overall meaningful development.
Okorocha tired to build roads outside the state capital in his first year of office. But seems to have been told later that the Imo state capital is Imo state.
Three months ago, even Okorocha's deputy told the world in an interview with Vanguard media that Okorocha spent 75% of his development efforts in Owerri in four years. This is a serious accusation.
How can Imo people get Okorocha to understand that the state capital doesn't deserve 75% of Imo state's development projects before he transforms the other lgas outside Owerri to abandoned and extinct before he leaves office? |
