TravelRe: Chicago Businessman Charged As Jetliner Stowaway by DisGuy(mod): 5:01pm On Jun 30, 2011
The ABC7 I-Team has learned that Olajide Oluwaseun Noibi, a 24-year old Nigerian national also known as Seun Noibi, is a self-proclaimed "storyteller, strategist and designer who is passionate about reaching the world for Jesus" according to one of the numerous corporate websites and social media pages that list his affiliations.

Noibi claims to have an office on Chicago's Southwest Side.

Noibi, who informed U.S. Transportation Security Administration agents that he was a 2008 graduate of University of Michigan, claims to be a frequent air traveler according to scattered comments that have been posted under his various identities. Many of them list his affiliation with the university.

"3 days, 3 cities, Chicago, Detroit and NOw i can spy with my little eye New york city from this Sheraton at Liberty Int' l Airport in NJ!" was the verbatim of one such social network posting this month. "When i told God to use me i didn't know he'll take me serious. Here I am. Use more of me. Meetings right into my birthday on sunday and then back in las gidi, for the Diko and Friends in Concert and Album Launch. It can only be God."

Noibi is the purported founder of the "Unleash Abel Institute," said to be located at 1245 S. California in Chicago. Since last October the organization claims to have been "introducing students(8-12th graders and college bound) to professional careers in business, technology , and the sciences."

He also turns up as principal executive of Unleash Media Inc and Unleash 9JA, "a movement of independent thinkers, artist, musicians and filmmakers propagating the african experience" according to one website.

He had a stolen boarding pass and ID card according to the FBI and was arrested Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport. In addition to the stolen ID, authorities say Noibi had up to 10 old boarding passes containing various names.

He was arrested after attempting to board a flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta; five days after passing through layers of airport security at New York's JFK airport to board a plane with a day-old boarding pass. It is unclear why he wasn't arrested then.

In the Saturday incident, authorities say Noibi boarded Virgin America Flight 415 at JFK bound for LAX.

He was found on the plane after it had taken off and was in flight, in a seat in the aircraft's "main cabin select" area. When asked for his boarding pass, Noibi produced a boarding pass and ticket for a Friday flight that was not in, stated an FBI agent.

According to ABC News: o n that pass was the name of a man with the initials M.D. After tracking down and interviewing him, the FBI learned that M.D. had lost his home-printed boarding pass from his back pocket, which had been folded into fourths, once he arrived at JFK via subway Friday. Once he discovered it missing, he obtained a new boarding pass from a ticket kiosk and boarded Flight 413.
very weak screening process!!!
SportsRe: Commercializing The Nigerian Premier League Like The Spanish La Liga by DisGuy: 3:34pm On Jun 30, 2011
who will benefit from all the commercial goodies anyway? wont it mainly be the team based in lagos? The league might get more supporters but the vast majority of commercial interest will be for the lagos team

Yes we need a club in Lagos. The city is the only Nigerian city where immigrants are more than local natives. Lagos has only won 2/39 titles in the NPL, issue is not about giving them a free role because they would compete Continental too in the Africa Champions League. As long as the present model is not working, we have to consider change and tap into the Lagos market. Yes, Julius Berger used to play in the league but again NFF never leveraged the marketing for the team
Any particular reason why the NFF ( regulator) be marketing for a team? dont they have their own management who should be responsible for this?

Just maybe the teams irrespective of where they are based are not an attraction for the private companies, their mileage is too minute, plus most companies dont have customers outside of Nigeria anyway

The contracts for sponsorship should be re-modelled so teams can market themselves and their stadia without another round of court cases with Glo- they are in the habit of always throwing tantrums with court cases over everything they sponsor, they want to control everything like they are doing the teams a favour or as if NPL/NFF cant get others to match their offers

CareerRe: The Cult Of Information, And The Information-less Society by DisGuy: 7:10pm On Jun 29, 2011
I dont know too much about information cult but I know ANYONE can use the information to their advantage, it is upto the other to make a superior argument with their own information/statistics and convince the neutral party

A lot of energy, time and resources are wasted in an information less society, even behavioural patterns are altered due to lack of information

on a normal day,
I can check the weather for the day, to know what sort of jacket I'd take to work or take out in the evening-heavy, light or just normal, you dont want to be looking like a plonker carrying your heavy jacket around inconveniencing yourself and others when you could have checked the weather earlier before you left home;

I can check the exact time or a pretty decent estimate of when the next bus is coming to my nearest bus stop and when it is likely to get to the rail station to get the train i want. If i don't know the route i can check or even avoid lines that have scheduled repairs going on-

I can check surrounding petrol station to know the cheapest ones even though the different might only be 10-20naira
After checking the route to a particular destination you can get information about roadworks, festivals or other important information that can affect your journey- all these saves time, money AND A LOT OF STRESS!!

on many occasions you will wonder why students find it difficult to apply for universities without going through someone in the university
sometimes even basic information on when the school will resume, when exams will be taking place when the semester will be over to plan a vacation all these will affect other plans by the family, which will affect something else, so everyone is groping in the dark or having to pay someone for things that should be available

Applying for a license is another horrible one, you have to approach an official(waste of time, money), the forms are not available online, the process wont be explained so you know when exactly you can get it, and some Arrow on the street can stop you and flatly tell you your license is fake even though they issued it to you! i read somewhere how customs are stopping people on the highway seizing their cars saying their custom papers are incomplete or some levy has not been paid

But then again they say information is power the people responsible for providing these information dont want to lose this power- Ego, illiteracy, local champion

SportsRe: Commercializing The Nigerian Premier League Like The Spanish La Liga by DisGuy: 1:11pm On Jun 29, 2011
Year after year teams play to remain in the premier league not matter how much revenue they get, they travel up and down competing to enter the premier league

It will be unfair to just bring one particular team from the lower league into the premier league-
Teams from Lagos should use their money to buy the best players so they can make it into the top flight

Look at QPR, they got an investment from F1 money bags and some rich friends, they set a target of 5years to get into the premier league
look at them now they finally made it

Their stewardship of the state over the past 40 years or so has not been very good
yes actually, chances are you don't have the indices or the stats to state otherwise. Saraki jnr was governor for two term, Saraki snr was never a governor of the state he was just a 'big name' in there, just they way OBJ can throw his name about in Ogun state

But I agree Kwara could achieve much more just that the illiteracy levels, population, revenue was never in their favour from the get go
