'Overused'? Thats what u call it, ever heard that Wilshere was angry for been omitted from partaking in the recent U21? After a Season he almost got featured in every Arsenal game then England's main team! U call it Serving the nation's call
No I didnt hear wilshere was angry, I heard he wouldn't mind- it's one thing when players want to play every game its another thing when Experienced coaches/managers and health professionals encourage them to take a break. At the age of i think 19, playing in different parts of teh world in one season ,flying to SA just to play 2 games out of a champions then being told to travel back immediately after a match- that is foolishness in my opinion anyone that has the guts to tell me that is an incompetent inconsiderate coach- one day you are playing at 30degrees, immediately afterwards you embark on a 12hr flight, to play at 5-10degree, then one coach want you to take another 12hr flight back after the match to play a match on another continent?

Teenage footballers always want to play all games it's up to competent forward looking coaches to ensure they dont just put someone with a name in the squad- they put players that are well rested playing at their optimum

I call it getting used most especially knowing what will happen to you when you get injured or clubless!

SportsRe: Ahmed Musa Plays For U21, U23 And Super Eagles, Why? by DisGuy: 1:42pm On Jun 26, 2011
the fuss is about the frequency with which he is used, calling player to young player to play so many matches in the middle of a season (he is not even settled in to his new club) and for meaningless friendlies

if he were to be playing some leagues the coaches wont even dare, you think any top club will want to buy a player that will be over-used by his home country during off season or mid season even

PoliticsRe: How Far With Cement Price Ultimatum? by DisGuy: 12:40pm On Jun 26, 2011
kalokalo:
Quick question: if cement is really much more expensive in Nigeria than neighboring countries, how come cement is not being smuggled from the same countries into Nigeria? After all, every other good that is cheaper in neighboring countries are smuggled into Nigeria.

By the way, how come every product Dangote sells is not smuggled into Nigeria? I am yet to see smuggled cement, sugar, flour, salt etc. The only time smuggled rice disappeared from Naija was when Dangote was selling rice. They could not compete and were forced out! How does he do it? His products are even sold in the same neighboring countries.
the question should be how do THEY do it, they are obviously very big sponsors of the government and direct links with CUSTOMS, they have loose ends covered, the only people that are successful in smuggling these stuff are custom officers or people that have close connections to customs at border areas but they bring it (rice) in relatively smaller quantities that wont hurt a fly

Weird that Christian universities in Nigeria makes it compulsory for 'all' students to go for 'holy worship' and no agenda or script brouhaha

I know that the topic discussion on here is about Islamic Banking itself; however I was talking about in the broader aspect, how SLS made it Sharia complaint. If I recall correctly form prior threads and news link, he said for banks to be participate it this type of banking they have to e "Sharia Compliant". I can't really state the requirements they had to meet to be Sharia Compliant; the compliance stirred up the fear amongst banks and even the pending lawsuit against CBN, i.e. if I quote correctly.
those that want to operate as or called Islamic bank have to be sharia compliant, those that want to operate as non interest bank do not
that's my understanding even though i'm not following it fully- Any regulation or policy from Sanusi/Northerner is seen as some sort of agenda or scripts
any from a southerner is seen as the best thing since slice bread
SportsRe: Ahmed Musa Plays For U21, U23 And Super Eagles, Why? by DisGuy: 1:03am On Jun 26, 2011
No wonder Many Nigerian players cant play up to the age of 30 at the top level

Just because a player is not complaining, You as a coach or association should use your judgement to calculate the number of games he has played and consider if he will be at his peak

Whatever happen to protecting YOUNG players especially after gruelling season playing for his clubside shuttling in for just 2 games in a tournament

In a country where there are millions of players begging for games, one would expect some sort of rotation. It is not about messi or wiltshire playing for junior teams but the number of games they play at short intervals

The question hasn't been about Islamic banking, but SLS said the banks have to be "Sharia Compliant". Banks have to follow sharia laws, bringing in Sharia has voided the conventional banking wisdom and introduced religious bias
what do you mean? the Question through this thread HAS certainly been about Islamic banking!

d) When you check-out the landscape in 2yrs time and you discover that suddenly, majority of Bank CEO's (including privately owned ones like Zenith!) are Northerners!

Let me add to my response above that the Finance minister cannot sack the CBN gov., but the senate can, please read further comments above.

the islamic bank will be hijacked by extremists who will practise their own type of islamic banking. Do pple not know that the kind of islam practised in northern nigeria is one of the most radical forms of islam, someone was said that it could only be compared to that of Afghanistan in the whole world. If pple think in practise that those banks will give non muslims loans, i'm surprised at their naivety. They would not openly say they cannot give such loans, but there would always find a reason not to approve the loan. This islamic banking is definitely not what the country needs at this critical time, maybe later. The mindset of the citizens is not tuned to accommodate it. Not with all the bombings, religous killings and growing distrust among the major religions. We need to be careful, as this form of banking will only increase the tension btw divergent reli
gous beliefs and further draw us apart. There is such a thing as doing the right thing at the wrong time, and i think that applies in this case.
has islamic banking been practised before or you plucked this conclusion from the nearby river?

so you mean there might be an ethnic/tribal reason diamond bank is not giving me loan to pay bride price? cheesy

We have entirely failed to nail IBB, OBJ, and all those suspects no doubt, maybe in a 100 years time our nation will write about them. Meanwhile, don't forget that my point is about a layman, like me, or maybe you simply picking up and running away with an incident because of our different background.
I have seen people described as ostentatious simply because they had a vehicle for work and business, in reality those people were struggling to make ends meet too, but attheir own level.
No, I'm talking in context of the documentary and looking back comparing that statement highlighted with the current fresh air programme
my point wasnt about the layman doing his business sipping champagne, but a governor living  like everything was under control in his gloryland

They return to the coast and a meeting with Peter Odili, the Governor of one of the main States. In his headquarters, which his spokesman said had cost 200 million US dollars, and over a bottle of Cristal champagne he tells Unreported World that the violence will soon die down and that he has plans to develop the area and bring in jobs for its inhabitants. Meanwhile, the violence continues, the pollution remains and for the Delta people this most precious commodity is not a blessing, but a curse.

What good life do you guys have in the uk?
Many of the nigerians i have seen in the uk are as broke as hell and the only ones who seem to be comfortable are the ones who engage in crimes like internet scam and drug traffiking.Yes the Uk is the hotbed of 419 and many crooked nigerians flood to the uk like ants to  sugar and make it large while the law abiding ones suffer.Apart frm that the nigerians in the Uk are being stalked all over by white skin heads and crazy jamaican gangsters.Take a look at the number of nigerians who have been murdered in cold blood in london by carribean gangs. And to top all that you guys give out almost all your hard earned money to the royal family. The way i see it the queen and her family are just feeding fat out of you ppl.London is not all that and frm what i have heard it is quite a dirty place with refuse all over the area.Jeez London is looking more like the lagos of old.

Can we all just stop this 'crab-in-a-bucket' mentality.
I support no corrupt public official, but since when did osentation become a crime in our country. Note that what is ostentation to one person, maybe a necessary standard of living for another.
Please try and find reasons to convict the man in a court of law, instead of coming here to preach "ostentation" If you can't, maybe you should enjoy his $200 champagne while it last.
it was the government house, not his private house, how can it be a standard of living?

Goes to prove what I said here and have been saying for months on Nairaland that our South-South brothers would rather look the other way when the crime is being committed by their kin.
