government is not funding research, govt is not funding research....but international organisations with huge funds are not funding because of their lack of transparency and accountability...is that government fault too?

See 50 year old university distributing 200 pieces of hand sanitizers with 50 media houses invited like they have invented a cure

Despite all the atrocities committed by Kagame, the country is peaceful.

Street fighting = 6 months or more imprisonment

Adultery = 7 years in jail

Tax evasion by both local citizens and foreigners = strict sanctions like 100 percent fines.

Falsification of documents = several koboko laden with chilly pepper and jail terms.

Stealing government money or corruption, that one na big kasala, just run away from the country or else Kagame will slaughter the culprit

The list is endless, so that is why citizens in that country behave themselves, nobody wants Kagame wahala smiley
Seems for any semblance of normality/development in Africa, there's always a benevolent dictator....Libya, Rwanda, Egypt

This is one of the most complex part of this covid decisions. Why couldn't they just postpone the exams or make the universities conduct exams like our own post utme or whatsitcalled...
I can see many people going to court over predicted grades vs final grades...ko easy mehn

This is my disappointment with General Buhari. The fact that he’s not running the country as he did in my 80’s.
The new Buhari is tired! Democracy doesn't fit his style and certainly doesn't fit us yet!

Perhaps the koboko style of democracy as done in Rwanda is what we need.

Lol, Koboko laden with chilly pepper should be held by Buhari and all government officials from the Vice President to the least worker in the local government to flog shege comot from indisciplined Nigerian's so that the country can move forward, the pictures below is my suggestion / recommendation to Buhari to be applied nationwide on disobedient citizens / corrupt politicians and looters cheesy
Which explains partly, why many voted for him initially. His WAI- War Against Indiscipline- in the 80s

I think it's also being trialled in the UK along with other drugs. Most countries using it as trails rather than definite treatment imo

Hello Nairalanders

Please advice is needed on the best approach to rent a house in the midst of Covid. Agent already provided a short video for virtual tour. What if the video does not portray the conditon of the house? Holding deposit is not refundable if intending tenant pulls out of the deal.

Pls help an urgent decision needs to be made.
Best not to rush with a move unless it an emergency or absolutely necessary. Many will be desperate to close deals asap knowing the coming months is very uncertain

Ask them you are will to do social distance viewing. The agent can stay outside while you take a look yourself grin

Welcome to Britain in 2020...

British households told to prepare for blackouts

The National Grid has sought to reassure the British public it can cope with the surge in demand as people stay indoors and work from home during the outbreak.

However, UK Power Networks, which provides electricity to the southeast and east of England, including London, has written to vulnerable customers with advice on what to do if there is a power cut.
Alarmist...like the way the media go full throttle on worst case scenarios

2 weeks ago they were insinuating BT,Virgin, TalkTalk and co will collapse if there's a lockdown...

They are beyond ridiculous. They completely goofed. WHO inclusive.

After all this Covid wahala, the healthcare ministers on western countries should be in touch with Asians on how to prepare for a an epidemic or the bigger brother pandemic.
Nah they should be in touch with their asian counterpart on how to prevent a pandemic in the first place and perhaps stop silencing their scientists and public health experts..SARS, Bird Flu etc
And I dont think anyone believes the numbers coming out of China one bit!

I’m most appreciative of health workers right, but no I don’t agree with this sentiment. Soldiers didn’t sign up to die, they signed up to fight a war, if they die, they die. Same with docs, you signed up cos you’re passionate about treating and curing people (irrespective of that you’re treating/curing), so if you get infected along the way, sorry- it’s the job.

My dad has a health condition and is a doc in Nigeria. If they recall retired staff, he will go back and fight And all I’ll do is cry. Because it’s his job! I know how my mum almost ran mad when AIDS started in Nigeria, she thought he would catch it by touching a patient. It’s the risk of the job.

My tip: catch it, so at least you will rest. I have a health condition and I didn’t die, so you most likely won’t.
Soldiers sign up to protect the country not to fight wars... if they die? a bit crude but hey

doctors sign up to treat people not to get infected- Especially if something can be done for them to get as much protection from the virus as possible-if they all fall sick, what will happen to the rest of us?

The extension, announced today (24 March) by the Home Secretary Priti Patel, will apply to anyone whose leave expired after the 24 January and who cannot leave the country because of travel restrictions or self-isolation.

This will last until 31 May but will be kept under regular review in case further extensions are needed.

A dedicated COVID-19 immigration team has been set up within UKVI to make the process as straightforward as possible. Anyone in this situation just needs to contact this team, via this email address CIH@homeoffice.gov.uk, to let them know their visa has expired and they will be issued with an extension.

To help those who want to apply for visas to stay in the UK long-term, the Home Office is also temporarily expanding the in-country switching provisions.

This will mean people can apply to switch routes, such as from Tier 4 (student) to Tier 2 (General Worker), whilst remaining in the UK. UKVI will continue to process applications as quickly as possible, however some applications may take longer than usual due to COVID-19 related operational pressures.

USA,UK and many countries are buying the parts to assemble in their various countries. Innoson is trying to do the same too!
I'm basically saying Innoson dont need to wait for FG/SG to make an order before starting out....there are plenty of customers globally if they can actually manufacture ventilators... They should concentrate on making medical devices

Also wondering why nigerian breweries etc are not making hand sanitizers considering theyve got the active ingredients - Guiness flavoured hand sanitizers
