i don't believe those in the UK pay more taxes or have more expenses than those in america. I think it is a culture mindset. it builds into people who arrive in the UK and later become permanent. And also i so much believe that african(blacks) are doing better in america than UK. You find more blacks in corporate jobs and very enticing jobs in the US than in the UK. I really don't know the reason for this but it is a statement of fact.
could it be that ethnic minorities in the UK went there not too long ago voluntarily mainly as working immigrants and ethnic minorities esp blacks were taken to America hundreds of years ago and reside there permanently and therefore consider the place home unlike the majority of their counterparts in the UK who still have a/another place to call home undecided

also consider the percentages of ethnic minorities in both countries

I wonder who and what made the loopholes so things are not straightforward? Like other countries have citizens with multiple heads! That is why I say get rid of the joker! Why we believe in half measures is what I do not understand! Ribadu is half measure so cannot effect any meaningful change!
so get rid of him and then what wait for the perfect situation? or perhaps wait for obj and ibb to kpai so we can have a perfect setting? i thought half bread is better than none undecided

Let's cut through semantic chase here for a moment! People like Gani will work well if People like IBB and OBJ and all the non-entities in Nigeria will let them be! You cannot be working under such people and think you can do a good job! This is my problem with Ribadu! You know your hands will be tied and you are still there making noise? What exactly was the point taking the job? If you are going to be used as a foot stool to selectively execute the law? To help line your own pocket of course while you look the other way!
Many things/people will workproperlyIF politicians and some nigerians actually let them be!

Travel › Re: Nigerians In The UK Are So Stingy by DisGuy(mod): 12:33am On Jul 04, 2007
the problem is not actually the money to buy calling cards but the TIME, people in naija have tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime either on strike, lectures cancelled or holiday
there are phone cards sellers everywhere in the shopping areas you dont just walk down to the next house to buy a card

Some people just want you to call right back even with private number, you dont even know who is speaking they just drop the call before you ask.

there is time for everything in the UK; you know when the train, bus will arrive, you know when you'll get to the shop you know how long it will take you to get back all in all you need your own time to REST after the hustling. sometimes im not doing anything but you feel busy (resting) wink

Even people don't call each other regularly in the UK not that they don't want to but they just got 'things' to do like sleeping watching a naija film and know one takes it personal wink

@ Topic

I hope he does. Nuhu Rabidu has totally lost my trust and respect. All this hype about the gu and yet all the criminals of the previous administration are still walking about freely. Why is ODILI not in prison?? That nigga stole cash, and we know it (abi you want make I start to name all ehn schemes) but yet he is not in jail. Infact his name is not even on the corrupt governors list. IBB is still a free man (everybody knows his story), Yerima is still free, alot of known government crooks are still walking free and simply because of alamiesiya, Dariye, former IG of police, alot of 419ers and some nobodies we all want to make him a king.

If President Yaradua feels his ass is incompetent or that he does not have the ballz to arrest these crooks, they should fire him and hire someone else (abi is he the only honest man left in the country?).

Nigerians know these people (the thieves), and until we see them behind bars, EFCC will remain just another government tool for oppressing "uncooperative gorvernors/gorvernment officials)
naija politics is not as straight forward as you think, and the law of the land has so many loopholes.

whoever comes in will be accused of this and that too, its like asking someone in a straight jacket to fight with yokozuna undecided

if Yaradua wants ribadu out so be it! the only person i deem fit to be retained is dora. A woman who fought both pdp and non pdp in the fight against fake drugs.

The ex. gov. aint scared of ribadu and the body called efcc, before now they run because they know the commander gen obj would use his dog (efcc) against them but now that the coast is clear. the almighty Efcc becomes powerless
If they were not guilty they wont be running will they?

How exactly can you fight corruption in nigeria? whoever come along will have to be involved with politic one way or the other politicians are the most corrupt people in the country.

I wish whoever comes in goodluck

Investment › Re: Listing Hospital Stocks On Nse by DisGuy: 12:53am On Jul 03, 2007
They'll be a point where those 'big hospitals' only admit 'high net worth individuals'.

they will probably start employing doctors from czech republic,poland india only or mainly;

smaller illness like malaria, typhoid and so on that happen to be affect larger percentage of the population wil be ignored in favour of breast implants, liposuction,CS,tummy tucks- more money.

and that makes Ijebu girls the best, your friends don't exactly make up Nigeria u know, u shouldn't be shallow in your thinking, an Igbo girl or an hausa girl could feel the same way as u do about their tribes. Unless your ready to trot the whole of Naija asking this question then your case no hold water, don't try make people feel inferior all tribes are good in their own way, remember that one man's meat is another man's poison

No you won't. . .because the average Yoruba man knows that the term 'Yoruba Yoruba' as used by the Igbo people to describe them, is often used to describe them in a condescending, derogatory manner. So is the term ofei mmanu. But they have enough common sense to ignore such taunts, instead of raising 'hell' like some other folks would do.
Thank you wink

apparently calling a yoruba person Yoruba Yoruba isn't offensive i suppose?
calling someone omo ibo is marginalisation, tribalism, and every other bad thing, calling someone Yoruba Yoruba is 'just' a joke Yoruba people take very well on the chin wink
