The Yorubas on the whole are arguably the least tribalised of the 3 most populous tribes. I've stated that in preceding months and years on this forum.

But it comes with a caveat: If you speak the language and adopt the cultures in some ways, you are more likely to be accepted an accorded more rights in communities than in other two regions.

You are less likely to experience tribal-fueled prejudice in Ogun State than in Abia State.
Maybe it's because of the proximity to Lagos and the close to a century of it being an administrative/economic capital of Nigeria.

Gbenga Daniel had SAs from other tribes when he was governor. Same in Lagos too.

Being the least tribalistic of the 3 doesn't make you not tribal - you are just as guilty of tribalism. But there are many exceptions in this for the worse.
Exceptions like the Oba of Lagos threatening genocide on Igbos if they don't vote Tinubu's choice - no Igbo, Fulani/Hausa traditional ruler has ever been silly enough to say something like this.
------
Since the reason for supporting Tinubu of the options isn't based on merit - He's old, sickly and has question marks in every stage of his past which are not presidential traits anywhere in the world - the only other plausible reason is tribalism. Tribalism is the enemy of logic.

-----
I can love the EPL with all my life then troll other EPL clubs with vindictiveness while loving only one of the clubs.

Two truths can exist.

ASUU should GTFO.

I'm with Keyamo on this. If they can't do the work they should resign. This nonsense where employees can decide to hold their employers to ransom at the detriment of students must stop.
Coming from someone who defended Abba Kyari the fraudulent policeman and wanted Wike to be president simply because Wike is thuggish, this is rich and tells even more about you.
Itsrm:
This is not true at all.

There's nothing in the document that proves Kyari knew the exact nature of the Job Hush was talking about. You have always leaned towards illegalities and vices.
Itsrm:
This is exactly why we need Wike. If he had sacked all of them in 2013 and replaced them, we will not be having ASUU strike today.

These tribal bigots being led by their black Hitler himself keep thinking everyone is like them.
They keep thinking that everyone generalizes a whole people solely on the basis of tribe.

Foolish bigots.
Politics is more than getting upvoted in this virtual echobox.

For two months now I have asked them to show me one APC candidate in the South South and South East especially who is rooting for Tinubu, they can't.

There are 36 states and since canvassing is also local, I have narrowed it down to ask them to show me one candidate in Akwa Ibom who is attaching anything Tinubu to their campaigns, they still can't. Even one.

All they are saying, including the ones I get to talk to, is, "All man for himself". They know Tinubu is unsellable. The same people campaigned for Osinbajo over even Godswill Akpabio who's from the same state and has very credible records as governor (including myself, not forgetting here on Nairaland) and nobody batted an eyelid. Everyone saw PYO as that unifying diplomat.
----

Even Osinbajo's campaign manager, Richard Akinnola, is refusing to campaign for Tinubu and taunts him everyday on Facebook. Including the whole team.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 6:53pm On Aug 05, 2022
The Akwa Ibom State APC governorship candidate, Akan Udofia, is refusing to campaign for Tinubu or attaching anything Tinubu to his campaign. Same man was rooting for Osinbajo.
Akan Udofia is a billionaire and a close associate of Godswill Akpabio.

All the senatorial and house of representatives candidates are refusing to attach anything Tinubu to their campaign. Some of them were rooting for Osinbajo. I know one who funded the Osinbajo billboards in some parts of the state.
Even Godswill Akpabio has kept mum about Tinubu since the primaries.

Both Osinbajo and Tinubu are Yorubas. One loved and the other a poster boy for vices.
An unsellable candidate is an unsellable candidate, whitewash as you may.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by DissTroy(m): 6:00pm On Aug 05, 2022
Nobody has termed anyone a tribalist for supporting Osinbajo.

Osinbajo has billboards of him aspiring to be president which are standing in all state capitals in the South-South and South-East.

When you can't template your support for your candidate based on antecedence, credibility and integrity, then the only other reason is tribalism since he is from your place.

The Igbos didn't support Dave Umahi or Nigige . Ngige especially, who like Peter Obi, is a former governor of Anambra but unlike Peter Obi, he's not credible.

Few people would have accused you of being tribalistic if you rooted for Fayemi who's credible despite being in the APC and has a track record of fighting for human rights, including being the main consultant for the Oputa Panel.

Few people would accuse you of being tribalistic if you rooted for Osinbajo. He's loved in all States in the SS and SE, and had visible organic campaign organizations.

But most of you wanted Tinubu from the onset. It tells more about your personalities.
Supporting a sickly geriatric drug mule who has cognitive issues when they are better candidates reeks of everything you try to project on others. You are on the defensive because it pricks you.

Own it. Accept it. Accept who you are which is an unrepentant tribalist instead of seeking to defend or salvage your nonexistent claim to integrity. YOU ARE TRUBALISTS. smiley

Obrigardo:
You are not wrong. The error of Obama admin in Libya gave more fire to the Insurgent Militant and Armed Boko Haram. Anyone who thinks it's a fantasy can quote me and i'll show you the trail of how it happened.
Stop acting like you are positing anything new. For years on this thread since 2020, I argued against Obama, posting evidence and analyses of him being the worst POTUS to happen to Africa and being responsible for Boko Haram.

Throughout that time, you Leftists defended him. Now you have turn around to reiterate the claims I made.

DissTroy:
You have selective amnesia or worse? Obama as a comparative saint to anyone?

Same Obama who destroyed and fueled the destruction of the Middle East using the Arab Spring bait?

Same Obama who killed Ghadaffi?

Same Obama who allowed USA soldiers die needlessly in Benghazi when they could have been saved because he didn't want to offend his ISIS friends?

Same case Killary Clinton had to testify for when she was caught deleting emails and her emails were leaked making her and Obama complicit in these crimes?

Same Obama who was paying Iran billions of dollars and didn't tame them from making nuclear weapons?

Same Obama who has admitted that he made a grave mistake dabbling into the Middle East isuues and Libya was his greatest mistake?

Same Obama who refusing to call ISIS, Al Qaeda and the likes terrorists?

Same Obama who is directly and indirectly responsible for Boko Haram moving from being a ragtag group to the second most dangerous terror group in the world because of the weapons he allowed militia groups have access to from the pillaged Benghazi and arming these terrorists?

How dare you lie about a fact that has been admitted over and over again on the internet and in the media in this age of global connectivity and quick access to information?!
DissTroy:
The worst reaction was Obama last night. Predictably, last night, Obama, the man who led the invasion and destruction of economic powerhouse and successful country, Libya, tweeted to advice world powers and ask Russia to act with "decency, respect, and international laws".

Obama invaded and ruined Libya even after Russia, China and neutral countries begged him not to, but he's lecturing others. It's like Babaginda tweeting about free and fair elections, and coups. The height of hypocrisy!

Anytime you read of Boko Haram and ISWAP killings, just know Obama and Hillary Clinton, via arming Libyan militants, caused us this pain. Goodluck and Buhari only mismanaged the fallout, but both were never the cause.

Same Obama who confessed years later in 2016 before leaving office that "invading and destroying Libya" was the worst mistake he ever did: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/apr/12/barack-obama-says-libya-was-worst-mistake-of-his-presidency.

There were no such terror groups as ISIS and ISWAP before Obama became POTUS in 2008. Yet he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Even the Nobel Secretary admitted awarding Obama was a mistake: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34277960 .

Why is Obama still treated like a hero? Why do the media still worship him? Because he's an establishment puppet with the gift of the gab?
DissTroy:
Accûrsed newt! Boko Haram was a radical group from the 90's, but it wasn't a terror group. When it got sophisticated arms and weapons which Obama unwittingly gifted it indirectly via arming militants during the Arab Spring (from 2010), it became a terror group.

Here's Reuters reporting in 2012 how militant groups in West Africa were having access to Libyan weapons (including the ones Obama was gifting to rebels) for regime change.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-libya-un-arms-idUSTRE80P1QS20120126

You sure do have a shunted brain.
You all spent most of your time here whitewashing Hillary and Obama now you want to turn around to reiterate the very things those against them stated and denied?

Illimitable, I read your takes on taxation in Nigeria and Nigerians barely paying tax. That's true but you are forgetting to faction in the aspect of governments at the state and LGA levels deliberately refusing to digitise taxation (payments, recurring payments and valuation).

Except Lagos state in recent years (and partially so), all other states have rebuffed the idea of digitisation of taxation. Most of the taxes paid to via other means are not accounted for.

Asides Lagos, the only other state which has a portal for everything taxation is Rivers State but the website is deliberately left at that. Beautiful but not functional. That's a factor you are forgetting.

Imagine have a centralised online portal for each state and/or payment via USSD.

Yar'Adua wasn't a saint or necessarily better. We have a culture of idolising and whitewashing the legacies and pasts of leaders in the distant past and canonising them.

Yar'Adua was a weak leader and his presidency was marred by corruption and illegalities.

Here's an LA Times op-ed on Yar'Adua, for example: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2010-may-07-la-me-umaru-yaradua-20100507-story.html .
ASUU went on strike twice under Yar'Adua (when he wasn't hospitalized) and at a point for 4 straight months in 2009: https://www.pulse.ng/communities/student/all-the-times-ASUU-has-gone-on-strike-since-1999/5jtb8cs .

Nigerians were generally in support of subsidy removal, the issue with Jonathan's govt was that things had worsened under him to an unmanageable level, there was zero accountability such that marketers got paid billions without importing a drop of refined crude products, Jonathan wanted to abruptly remove it completely without setting palliatives in place to cushion the effect of such a removal and Nigerians did not trust any of the people he appointed in position to execute this project.

Don't forget too that this same Tunde Bakare, under the Save Nigeria Group fought for Jonathan to be sworn in as acting president when Yar Adua was sick and incapacitated.
This whataboutism is ill-timed and misdirected.

Facts are facts.

Bakare swore and fought against subsidy removal - this year his manifesto was to remove subsidy removals.

Tinubu said he didn't believe in "One Nigeria" - today he wants to be president of "One Nigeria".

Maybe; but then again, maybe not. The ONLY reference to Tunde Bakare and SKODA on the internet is him claiming in a 2009 Sahara Reporters that he brought the company to Nigeria. No specifics about how much of SKODA Nigeria he owns, how much it was worth, the value now or any other source stating this. None.

Can you respond? Dis wan na serious allegation. He no talk am 4 ur back!
He dares not. It's on the Chelsea thread. The whole thread condemned him and he went underground for a while with everyone shaming him for justifying Deborah's murder.
It's not a one-off. Over the years, he's been called out on the same Chelsea thread for defending Islamic terrorism.

We all know why the Shekau-lite supports Tinubu. He feels Agbadoman embodies Shariaistan given the posturing.
