What inspired Igbo celebrities like Peter and Paul Okoye (P-Square), Chidi Mokeme and Okey Bakassi to declare support for Peter Obi isn’t different from the reason Yoruba celebrities like Brymo, Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, and Femi Adebayo endorsed Bola Tinubu.
Unfortunately, one group is marketed as “patriots” and the other aggressively ridiculed as “sellouts.” When you are done participating in this hypocrisy, you may get to grasp the relativity of your moral principles. Gimba Kakanda
Maybe. But in your case, we can certainly tell your support for Tinubu is for the Muslim-Muslim ticket and an ensivaged 'Shariastan' given your history of supporting Islamic terrorism/extremism and recently justifying the gruesome murder of Deborah.

Is Lagos state the only state in Nigeria? Or do you think states like delta and bayelsa won't do everything possible for PDP to win including hiring thugs?

Northerners travel down to the north during election periods to cast their votes. If there are perceived reasons of unsafety in Lagos state, the igbos should travel back to the east before election day to cast their votes. At least they have been screaming they can make any sacrifice to get Obi to the seat of power...

Yorubas are tired of getting emotionally blackmailed..
But you claimed days ago the Egun people (who make up 15% of the indigenous population of Lagos State) are not Yorubas so all of which Yorubas are emotionally blackmailed again?

Funny how most of you who aren't indigenously from Lagos (a former FCT) lay claim to it because you are ashamed of the enclaves which are your actual states.

Like Abuja, the voting direction of Lagos is no longer entirely decided by its indigenous tribal affiliations. That's the price you pay for being an administrative capital over time.
Calabar indigenes would tell you same story.

Oga Kay, he's not Yoruba. Is kogi Yoruba?
They bear Yoruba names and can speak Yoruba but theirs is different...
Stop this revisionist nonsense because Hundeyin attacked your drug lord candidate.

Yoruba is a group of subethnicities, a tribe with similarities in language and culture.

Until less than 250 years ago, there was no such thing as Yoruba. There were ethnicities which share similarities. Egûns of Lagos and Ogun are as Yoruba as the Aworis of Ogún State. The Ife people are just as Yoruba as the Illajes of Ondo State. Yoruba is a tribe made up of sub ethnicities.

The Abakalikis of Ebonyi have language distinctions from the Nwewis of Anambra and the Awaras of Imo but all are Igbos.

Even until 180 years ago, the Oros and Efiks all identified as Ibibio. Gov. Udom Emmanuel is from Onna LGA in Akwa Ibom and their language is distinct from the main Ibibio stock which I hail from but Gov. Udom is no less Ibibio and no Ibibio man would castigate him as such. Each Ibibio sub ethnicity has slight language distinctions from the other but all are no less Ibibio.

The Eguns are just as Yoruba as the Egbas.
I dare you to say Eguns are not Yorubas on Twitter.

Nobody has ever insistently referred to the Eguns as non-Yorubas but because David Hundeyin exposed Tinubu, you've began a revisionist descent to targeted neo-tribal cleansing against the Eguns out of nowhere.

Focus on the issue! Tinubu is a drug pusher is the issue.

I don’t believe this. The South is not divided to the extent that the SS and SE will vote for another 8 years of Northern rule. Not just another Northerner, but another Fulani man.

Even if Tinubu will be a hard sell, I don’t see this happening.
There might be an element if truth in what he posited. The South East and the South South have always voted the same pattern and championed similar causes (and even the federal legislative members back similar causes in the National Assembly).

If you get the people of the SS to love you, the SE would follow suit; and vice versa.

But if the APC had chosen Osinbajo vying against Atiku, the SS and SE votes would be split in 40:60 or 35: 65, even with a SS or SE vice for Atiku.

The hatréd for Tinubu isn't necessarily about his party affiliation - certainly not his tribe since Obasanjo and Osinbajo are accepted - but his person.

Osinbajo was always the first on my list before Obi (my comments on Nairaland as far back as March on the Chelsea thread would confirm this), and for many APC and PDP faithfuls in the SE and SS too. Nobody would have unified Nigeria better than Osinbajo.

Only Tinubu's dubious supporters have made it about his tribe yet keep mum when we raise the Obasanjo and Osinbajo question.

This is not a case of innocent until proven guilty. He was proven guilty that's why he agreed to forfeit the money in his account and testimony in exchange for a suspend jailtime. It's there in thw very records uploaded. It's stated that he was culpable in managing drug money.

Do you believe he can cause a surprise in the governorship polls?
OBA is a thug or comes across as one. Too unruly. A populist but he'd be worse than Gov. Udom. And given the humongous monies available to Akwa Ibom State Udom has underperformed.

I hold TWO definite grudges against Obong Bassey Albert (OBA) which many Akwaibomites and Niger-Deltans don't know about.

OBA is the Chairman of the Senate Oil and Gas Committee. The Petroleum Information Bill (PIB) which shortchanged oil-producing communities of the Niger-Delta (which includes our state) passed through his hands and he didn't kick against it.

Secondly, OBA is a magnet for hoodlums. His assent to being governor would mean chaos and the state becoming a haven of violence caused by gangs. This is the main reason we didn't support the former deputy governor in his bid to be governor in 2019 - he's sort of cut from the same cloth as OBA.
-----
On the side, even though he isn't on any ballot, I hold a grudge against Godswill Akpabio too and which is genuine regardless of achievements as a governor. In July, 2021, Godswill Akpabio said it doesn't matter what the content of the PIB is, it should be passed hastily.
Weighty statement since he:s the Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs.
That's one of the reasons oil-producing communities

Godswill is from Ikot Ekpene which doesn't have oil but many of us are from oil-producing communities/LGAs and we know what that means. He's very populist but he'd have to answer that question someday about him supporting that injustice.

Vote-buying was how Tinubu emerged instead of a credible, younger and more sound Osinbajo. The Electoral Act didn't address that.

Even in 2011 when Tinubu fielded Ribadu on his ACN platform, he LOST woefully all but Osun State; and the losing margin was very wide https://www.electoralgeography.com/new/en/countries/n/nigeria/nigeria-presidential-election-2011.html

Tinubu has never controlled the presidential election outcomes of the South West, unlike Buhari who has his territory on lock even during the Obasanjo era.

But political neophytes who can beat their chest to state specifically what roles they played in any such elections are on Nairaland masturbating about how Tinubu would win when he can't outrightly win the South West which is the only place he has any influence to begin with.

Facts and evidence prove Ondo, Lagos and Ekiti are swing states that could go anyway. And now Osun under the Adeleke influence.

Facts don't lie. Facts don't respect emotions. Statistics trump sentiments always.

Lagos: 131,000 votes.

Maybe part of the reason I have a soft spot for Peter Obi is because he's first a businessman and an employer of labour. I have a disdain for political jobbers and sit-tights.

If you know where I am from and the LGA particularly, you'd know better. I have turned down offers from those in the corridors of power consistently as a matter of principle.

If you search "DissTroy Allocation Akwa Ibom 2019", you'd find me exposing my state governor and revealing little known details of corruption on this platform and even attacking government aides misrepresenting facts.

I'm no PDP man. I'm a individual-capacity person.

Obi's popularity wouldn't have been widespread if Osinbajo had been fielded.

I got contacted by a SW governor's SSA early enough in December to push the governor for the presidency, I got linked with the governor. I did background check he was good with achievements in human rights but when I discovered he was in collusion with Tinubu secretly, I left the discussion table.

No anonymity so anybody who defaults can't run away.

Bet with who? You? Same Nairaland where people bet and ran away?

Ever seen me involved in betting?

Let's take it a notch further:

We'd do the following:

Post our pictures, post our names, post our verifiable political engagements here on this page. Then when our everyone has successfully linked our offline information with our Nairaland personas, then you go ahead with what you want to do.

That's the deal.

Our pictures.
Our full names.
Our political engagements.

Deal? smiley

Let's all let loose the supposed anonymity cloak.
