Ok then, I agree that all the players on the list performed well in their own right, but in any award there can only be one winner. Ask any Liverpool fan about who their choice for the award should be and the result would be unanimous..

Liverpool let in the least amount of goals in the top flight last year. Two people were responsible for that, the defensive masterclass called Van Dijk and the goal keeping brilliance of Allison. If you take matters again to the public jury as to who was more significant between both the answer would be unanimous.
Some years ago, a player like Van Dijk wouldn't even be in the conversation, because he is a defender. If people are upset because a defender won it,then it's time to get used to it because perceptions about their importance has changed.
