Power is toxic.

One used his position in power to colonized public property to private one. Another is now using his new found power to intimidate the one that previously had the power. Vicious circle. Either way, the masses wont gain anything from this tussle, so na dem sabi.
Politics › Re: Stop Lying Lawan, Senator’s Monthly Take Home Pay Is N15m – Sagay by DJInfluence: 2:36pm On Jun 27, 2019
vegafbs:
He therefore asked the Senate President to stop misleading the public with his half truth.
There is nothing half about this truth. Half truth would have been he said he received 7 Million, but saying 750K, that is about 5% of the truth. Politicians earning so much for what exactly? What are they bringing to better our laws to earn so much?
Celebrities › Re: Ruggedman To Release A Diss Song Against Naira Marley by DJInfluence: 2:15pm On Jun 27, 2019

he should move unto other stuff

undecided undecided undecided
Na you kill his music? Those of us that like it no complain. In one of his track back in the day, he said , then, that was his time to shine and he shone. So now it´s Wizkid and Davido. In another 3-5 years, someone else will take over. That is how the system works.

I know for fact, that Marley guy no fit stand our own made Eminem when it comes to dissing. But let´s see how things unfold.
Politics › Re: Nigerians Call For Arrest Of Amosun Over 1,000 AK47, 4 Million Bullets Stockpile by DJInfluence: 7:58am On Jun 26, 2019
Politicians are our biggest threat, no Boko Haram.

The only question i have, how did he get the guns into the country? Illegally i believe, which in itself is another crime. That is how the Ofa Robbers used the guns provided to them by some politicians to wreck havoc.
Crime › Re: Internet Fraudster Bags 35-Year Jail Sentence In Ilorin (Photo) by DJInfluence: 7:44am On Jun 26, 2019
wait ... i say wait first nah ... is this not the same internet fraud that others are getting 6 months to 1 year jail sentences? What makes this one different? Am not against sentencing these fraudsters, but 35 years? common... Maybe i missed something because i no read the whole article.

Edit....
OK, so these are concurrent jail terms. But still 7 years is much. I thought 3-5 years would be punitive enough as well as property forfeiture.
Sports › Re: FIFA To Investigate Cameroon Women Players' Behaviour Against England by DJInfluence: 4:52pm On Jun 25, 2019
Basically what they are looking into is how severe the punishment should be not even the ref performance. Agreed that Cameroon disgraced themselves. But what has it got to do with the whole of Africa? If an European team did that, they will only be referring to that country. Now an African team did it, the searchlight will be on the whole of Africa. Black do suffer for this world no be today.

Car Talk › Re: Lightening Destroys Lady's Car In Abuja This Morning by DJInfluence: 4:40pm On Jun 25, 2019
This has nothing to do with lightening. One should be safe in a car if lightening struck. Was the car just all metal parts and were there no tyres? This story get as e be. I sure say na Nollywood director come up with this kind story.

If you are in doubt, then read the below or just google the topic

Rubber tires aren't why you're safe in a car during a lightning storm. ... You're safe in a car because the lightning will travel around the surface of the vehicle and then go to ground. This occurs because the vehicle acts like a Faraday cage.

shocked

His PRs and Image managers have drawn out a plan to reintroduce a new narrative of him. To sell him as generous, nice, hardworking Male who is only unfortunate and maligned by hateful people. Wow wow wow!

Crime › Re: EFCC To Go After Those Using POS Machines Illegally by DJInfluence: 12:34pm On Jun 14, 2019
mapet:
Let me put some perspectives to this..
1. Banks are within legal limit to give POS machines to registered businesses, SMEs and traders. That is why banks are by law required to run background checks aprior.
2. POS are registered and the ones used for fraud are less likely to be the legitimate ones.
3. There are syndicates (international at that) that specialises in and perpetrate POS fraud. They clone machines, cards, hack into networks, work through willing and gullible collaborators.
So based on your 3rd point, we do need a security agency to fight this and so far only EFCC is coming up with something. So i still think, they should be commended and not crucify by some here. I don´t think anyone of use would like to be a victim to such crime.

At least they are doing something. Did you guys even asked yourself why no other Govt organisation is doing anything about this? Why should banks gives POS to anyone requesting for it? All we do is criticise, i do not see any one proffering a better solution or alternative to the EFCC that can curb this menace..
Politics › Re: Maritime Workers Issue 2-week Strike Ultimatum Over Non-payment Of Stevedoring C by DJInfluence: 7:25am On Jun 14, 2019
I need to googled the meaning of stevedoring to understand this matter. So according to google, it means those we called "Aboki" inside market to help us carry load. But in this case, they are in the Port.

Our Govt should protect it´s own. They are not supposed to be threaten with a strike to protect their citizens who actually worked but are not being paid.

Politics › Re: Abiola: Fayose Slams Obasanjo, Hails Buhari by DJInfluence: 7:13am On Jun 14, 2019
I believe, some would have said, it was tribalism had OBJ recognized Abiola. So it´s technically a no win situation for him. Don´t get me wrong, i also think, he should have recognized him.

However, what about the other presidents? They should have, but didn´t. This topic came up every year since 1999 at the same time like clockwork, but none of them recognized him. And why did Buhari took so long to do that? What if he didn´t win a 2nd term? All the same, kudos to him for giving honours to whom it´s due in the person of Late Abiola.

We always blame Govt for the things we do. Na govt carry firewood go there? We destroy and misuse public properties, then blame govt. If we treat these collective properties, the way we would our own, then the amount and energy needed by the govt to maintain them would be 10 times less.

So my take is that govt is 40% at fault for lack of proper maintenance and enforcement of common environmental laws while the citizens are 60% guilty of lacking common sense.

I read some comments here and though they were written in good faith, i can´t understand why Africans believe so much that the man needs prayers. This is blatant cheating and he confirmed the same. She should leave him and take care of her child. There is nothing rash in that decision. Well, she said she is not here for advice so i wish her the best in what she decides to do.

That being said, the sooner Africa women realise they can do without men, the better. The over reliance on men is giving us the impetus to keep treating our women with little respect.
