abbey621: Currency value is a major determining factor, don't deceive yourself! The Japanese Yen is a top 10 currency and Japan is a top 20 economy, so I don't know what you're talking about. Yes we have other factors including cost of living, GDP and so on but even when we consider other factors Iran is still failing. Yes they might be a little bit better in certain areas but definitely does not justify the kettle calling the pot black. All I'm saying is reason for yourself don't be a sheep! Yen is not a top ten currency How much is Japanese yen to dollar How much is South Korean Kwon to the dollar And how much is Malaysian ringitt to the dollar? The Malaysian ringitt is a stronger currency to both Japanese and South Korean money. But those two countries are way higher than Malaysia economically. Japan and South Korea are developed economies Malaysia is a middle income country. |

abbey621: They might have all the things you've mentioned but like I said earlier every country is judged based on the economy and the welfare of its citizens. You can't say a country is far better than Nigeria when they're suffering from the same ailments as Nigeria. You can't say they're better when their money has no value, when unemployment rate is 11% or higher, where people are still getting blown up and religious conflicts abound. If you love Iran so much, carry your family and live there, talk is cheap my guy! How are they suffering the same thing. You are not suffering the same thing with them. They even have more oil than you, second to Saudi Arabia on opec quota. But can't sell because of sanctions. They have good infrastructures, local industries. Do you have basic infrastructure in Nigeria? What about local industries? Nigeria that imports almost everything they consume including petrol. You are not mates with them. Even the basic fundamentals are lacking here. So how are you better than them economically? |

abbey621: I'm not even going to bother to dignify the nonsense you wrote. Just simple question, search Google and ask how much is 1 Naira in Iranian currency? The answer is over 100. One Naira gets you over 100 of Iran's currency and you're here spewing trash. Every country in the world is judged based on economic factors and the comfort of their citizens, both Nigeria and Iran are failing in these aspects, to argue otherwise is to remain ignorant! I said fundamentals. How will there currency have value when they are under heavy sanction from US and her allies? You are not mates with Iran They have a robust local manufacturing industries even better than Saudi Arabia. Saudi imports almost everything they consume. But Iranians produce everything they consume in there country. They have good infrastructures, roads, modern railways, steady electricity and a very highly educated population. How many things does Nigeria produce locally? What about infrastructures good roads, electricity etc Forget noise making, you are not mate with them. |

Google is your friend, do your research! Story Even with all the US sanction Iran is very far ahead of Nigeria. Local industries, high number of educated citizens. Iran has even better fundamentals more than even Saudi Arabia. They have local industries that produce almost everything. They have modern infrastructures, good roads, steady electricity. Forget western propaganda Iran and Nigeria are not mates. |

urcutecrush: Sadly that is the norm for Nigerian men.I have come to the realization that 95% of Nigerian man cheats.
If you marry a Nigerian man be prepared to go through hell because his family and friends will always support his cheating habits and the saddest part the woman’s family too will never advice her to leave just tell her pray,Look good and don’t Nag.
Most Women in marriages are suffering and smiling or have become use to the abuse and are desensitized.
Let’s be realistic if you don’t have the opportunity of getting married to someone not raised with this Norm and values or best not raised in Nigeria then the best you can do for your emotional health as a woman is to marry a man who respects you and will most likely take his cheating far from you and makes you think he does not cheat but in your deepest mind you know he does.
The signs are there while dating. They are always there. I may not believe your assumptions. You will be surprised to know that there are many men that are not into extra marital affairs. Very many men out there. But the problem is that majority of the time you people expose yourself to the worst of men and then you come up with unverified claims. That you are exposed to the worst does not mean there are not good men out there. Its justw like saying that all women are slut.s Because of what some women do, but that's not true, there are exceptionally very good women out there. Depends on what you see. |

Lostz: since you can't understand piont copied from your own link, here is the GDP accross economic sectors since 2008 to 2018.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/382311/nigeria-gdp-distribution-across-economic-sectors/
in 2009, 26.75% of our GDP came from agriculture; which is higher than 2019.
agriculture contribution to our GDP in 2018 is about $84.6 compare to the $113.7 that agriculture contributed to our GDP in 2014. So invariably from available data past government did a lot in other aspects of the economy like agriculture. But propaganda says that they did nothing but only looted money . Very revealing. |

In an addition, the more sexual partners you have encountered, the more you carry the memories even as a man. And these memories will be with you. Your soul has been corrupted. But a virgin has no memories. There soul has not been corrupted, it's clean. That's why sex is called carnal knowledge. The more sex, the more knowledge you carry in your soul. But a virgin comes with a pure knowledge. See sex is a very deep thing, even for we men. Throughout our lifetime, those knowledge will come back to haunt us. That's why there many become rabidly and uncontrollably promiscuous. The less sex a human is exposed to the better he or she can have self control over the animalistic sexual cravings. |

fairfora: . Queen of England has witnessed up to 3 generations of nigerian kings, igwes, emirs president, governors most of who are now late. Have you ever wondered why herself and husband are still standing straight in their 90s? You can only find their likes nowadays in our villages.
What's life expectancy in Nigeria compared to what's obtainable in the west? Come to africa, or Nigeria, the list plenti. I decided to use the aforementioned public figures as examples because at least, we can easily recognize them. In the olden days, what our forefathers ate are not reckoned with anymore. Our forefathers would drink natural water, eat fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, fresh Bush meat etc but all these are lacking nowadays. Our sewage system isn't properly managed, there's pollution here and there whereas in the west, they still observe all our forefathers did observe in their time.
In the west, ordinary fresh fruit juice they'd add vitamins and minerals into it. Water they drink has minerals in it. Do we have access to all that back home mainly in the cities? Ordinary malaria would take forever to treat. How many of us eat balanced diet in Nigeria? Abeg the queen is highly protected and taken care of health wise. Just like Buhari is protected health wise, if he was not given the best medicare as a president or if he was still an ordinary man, he would have died. As for your summation, my father's elder brother is 92, still strong healthy. Do you know the number of elderly people we have in Nigeria. Akintola Williams is 99 or 100 this year. Pastor Paul Adefarasins mum is around 94 or 95 this year. We have many extremely old people around this nation. Westerners don't have good immune system up to our own. I always read in the news how they suffer stroke and immediately die. But here I have seen countless people that suffer stroke, survive and still continue with there normal lifes. If the westerners are exposed to the kind of harsh conditions we have here. They won't live up to 40 years. |

googi: djon78,
Thank you for going back to the topic. You actually analyzed the problems very well. Some Ivy League educated Economics from USA and London School of Economics justified Structural Adjustment for IBB to implement. It was the beginning of the End. It wiped out African Middle Class.
Then came Devaluations. The same well educated Africans gave us reasons to embrace each Devaluations. You know the not so educated military man without high school cert kept on asking the same question.
Which Developing country has ever recovered from Devaluation?
On top of all these, our Central Bank Governors and Finance Ministers kept Interest Rate high so that Foreign Investors can check in and out. When they want to "invest" they flatter us as the fastest growing developing countries. The best countries to invest in etc. Our stock markets soar and they take their money out. It is repeated.
Now tell me, my brother, which African big or small business can borrow at that rate as you indicated. Not even Dangote.
Who does Devaluation epp? Ask Zimbabwe.
Who does Structural Adjustment epp? Ask IMF and World Bank.
African Economy is Politically dictated by the West.
We make it worse by importing new, used and junk goods for 60 years! Actually when it comes to devaluation, it's a double edge sword. Because to maintain your currency, the Central Bank must use the countries foreign reserve to fight keeping the currency from going under. So the foreign reserve suffers. And in a case where the reserve is not replenished the currency must drop. That's the case Nigeria is in presently. Oil price our mainstay of revenue is falling terribly. CBN having shorter revenue may find it hard in upholding the Naira. That's why analysts are speculating Naira hitting 500. Also worsened by Our local industrial sector which is below par. We import many things we use here. So it's terrible. More of poor economic policies. Nigeria must fix her industrial sector. But to do that, power must be constant first and foremost. While presently our power sector is in chaos. So it's a hydra headed complex problem for Nigeria. The earlier government wake up the better for the nation. |

googi: Sir, not all of them. Yes, some source money from their South Africa dynasty but they also source money from Kora like Chagoury or whatever his name that made money from Abacha and Tinubu. Money do not easily leave India, maybe Govt investment from China.
The easiest source of money is from Nigeria. Think about Development (P&ID), a company registered in the British Virgin Islands, without office or expertise but did well in Nigeria with connection to Gen. Danjuma. Well yeah some of them who know there way around source money here, especially those who have been around here for decades. Some have been like 3 generations in Nigeria especially the Lebanese and some Indians. But the South Africans, Chinese, even some Indians, some Europeans and Americans come with there own money. Major problems for Nigerian businesses is lack of funds especially if you are not connected to the government. If you don't know your way around or maybe inheritance .money or hustle even drug /fraud money. It will be hard for you to break in. Getting money from the bank is very difficult with very high interest rate. Except you know your way around it. But still starting small, growing your business over the years is still the best. But it will take time, patience, losing money, making mistakes and then learning from your.mistakes to get better. Through this particular way, you can over time build a transgeneeational business you will transfer to your children. But many can't be patient to follow this pattern. Everyone wants it sharp sharp |

InDistress: Please I want reasonable opinion from responsible people.
I got married 12years ago and have 3 kids. His elder brother is a family friend and my dad knows their family quite well, especially his older siblings. He does not live in the country but visits 4 times a year, during those visits, he spends about a month or two. Before someone says I Married him for money, I didn't. As at the time we got married he had NOTHING, in fact he was sharing a 2bedroom flat with his elder sister in a remote part of Lagos and drives a rickety Audi, but he was this type of person that wants to be seen as a multi millionaire, he is so desperate to put out a certain public image. Yes he is doing quite well now, but he isnt rich. During the haydays of the marriage, as at then, camera phones were not rampant, so I picked up his Sony camera when he came back from abroad just to view pictures, then I saw him in a 3some, in fact it was an òrgy because I could hear other people's voices in the video. I confronted him about it and he begged. Later i also found out that he was sleeping with his secretary in Nigeria. It was on Valentine's day that year, I begged this man to stay home so we can celebrate valentine at home, but he refused asking me if valentine is the food we will eat, but I had a hunch and decided to go to his office only to see him sharing a bottle of red wine with his secretary and some other people. He later didn't come home that day as he said he went to the island to see a business partner and was stuck in traffic so he decided to sleep at his business partners. But i later saw his chat and it happemed that he lodged in a hotel with the secretary to placate her for me coming to the office. Recently I called him when he travelled to the village, but he didn't know we didn't hang up the call and I heard him propositioning a hooker. I confronted him and he got defensive. So I decided to hack his whatsapp. It was then I found out tgat this man is the most irresponsible man alive. I saw a chat with a Tanzanian girl he met on flight and he booked a two-way ticket for this girl to come and meet him in Dubai. What broke my heart the most was that he told me he had an urgent deal and had to travel to his country of residence. Last Thursday, he told me he was going to for a friends childnaming ceremony, I asked to go with him and he declined only for me to see his chat where he was booking a hooker to go with him. I also saw his chat where he was telling one to come and meet him at an upscale hotel in my area where the least room is 35k. The girl asked if they accept short rest there, he said that he will pay full and the girl can stay back to rest afterwards. But whenever you ask this man for money fornhomekeeping ,he will say there's no money tgat business is bad. Recently we started a building project in the village and I committed almost 4m of my own money (My mom warned me not to try it). We already have a 3b3droom apartment in same compound but we are building a bigger one now. Instead of him to be sleeping there, he opted to stay in a hotel for over two weeks. We agreed he should be as discrete as possible when he goes for the project, but this man packed 2 other tagalongs and paid for their rooms too where they were taking pròstitutes. Everytime, he will say there is no money. When travelling, he will drop 15k for me and 4kids while he pays his hookers as much as 50k, in fact there is one he is paying her houserent. I contacted one and she said she asked him for assistance for her sick child, and he said he will only help if they have sex and he paid her 30k , all these while the children's fees have not been paid. He keeps very irresponsible and backward thinking friends who empower his behaviour. I saw a chat where he and his friend were passing around a particular hooker. The funny thing is that before he has 5 lines of chatbwith these girls, they start bringing all their family problems and he will ask for account number. Currently, I have herpes and the gynecologist said it's untreatable, I confronted my husband and he denied any wrong doing. Ever since I Married this man, heaven knows that no man has ever come close to my body. I always saw packs of antibiotics in his car but I never knew he was always popping them after having unprotected sex withbtge hookers. Every part of the country he visits, he has a load of callgirls at his beckand call. I feels so used and heartbroken because I have dedicated my entire being to make this marriage work. Sometimes I go on days of fasting for this man whenever he has a downturn in his business, but I never knew he was the one invalidating the prayers with his waywardness. He goes about telling his whòres that he isnt married. One of them I contacted told me that he is a serial womanizer and never uses protection. Before anyone ask me what I bring tontge table, I own a flourishing business. I can afford to travel to Dubai to bring my wares. Yes he started the business for me, but that's just it and that was 10yrs ago. I'm tired of this man, whenever I see him I start feeling murderous. But I do not want another person raising my kids. I feel terribly sad. There is a section of this forum you will see these types of op husbands kind of men. Where they discuss sleeping with tons of wayward women, and glory about it. Most of them will end up like this ops husband if they don't change there ways. Men like these always never end well. They carry so many evil karma around. @Op you will have to seriously look out for yourself especially now he is exposing you to sti. |

CanadaOrBust: Google is you friend. You are right. Saudi Arabia and Russia are doing the pricing war and increase in oil production to knock down oil prices and hit hard at US fracking/shale. US shale has made US the highest oil producer. But the cost of producing Shale oil is higher than OPEC oil. Oil prices has to be high for it to be lucrative. So what Russia and the Saudis are doing is drive down prices. US shale will be driven out of business. Before they recover it will take another 3 to 4 years. |

diplomat058: You asked, 'which industrial might?' Are you trying to be spiteful right now? Given all indices, you can not compare the SE to the SW. The latter is far ahead. Despite the fact that oil constitute the mainstream chunk, the region has still managed to dominate the non oil economy. The other guy talked about the monopoly of Industrial Clusters in Aba and the rest and I asked him, 'how could you say such when Ogun State is widely regarded as the Industrial Capital of Nigeria.
I don't know what the talk about spoonfeeding is about. But I guessed you meant the unprecedented privileges enjoyed by the SE under Jonathan.
You can't compare a cat to a Tiger, bro. The figures don't lie. Check out the stats from the NBS, World Bank and so on and you would see for yourself.
Thanks and Good Morning I don't need to argue that fact with you. The South West has been spoon fed by the government at the center since after the war. It's a well known fact. Jonathan never did anything for the East. What privileges. Even his Niger Delta region he didn't do anything for them, talk less of the East. North even gained more from Jonathan's presidency. As for mentioning World Bank, NBS statistics, etc. The fact remains Nigerian economy is still below par. What's Nigerias per capita What's your contribution to the the $ earnings of the economy What measures has your region taken to diversify No keep on being spoon fed by central government and rolling out self deluding stats Don't worry very soon oil will become obsolete then you will know how far |
