diplomat058: Lols. You lots won't stop fooling yourselves, will you? The ONLY region that can turn things around, yet your region is almost barren, economically unviable and emigration prone. You came to SW and saw things working, didn't you. Which of your SE states come close to Lagos and Ogun, in terms of GDP, IGR, Industrial might, human development and other development parameters?
Stop these empty, lunatic, and comical boasting and 'mouthing' Abeg which industrial might, which GDP index ? When oil price dropped in 2016 what happened everyone entered into recession. Your Indusrial might what's your contribution to real $ earnings to the nations income. Everybody is tied to crude oil earnings. So I wonder the so called industrial might. Secondly you can't compare the East to yourself. The government at the center has been spoon feeding you while the East has been extremely marginalized since after the war. And still you lot are not better than the East even with all this spoon feeding. The only problem we have in the East is non radical, inspirational leadership. That can leverage on the strength of the igbo man. We had inspirational leaders before people like Micheal Okpara, Akanu Ibiam, Dee Sam Mbakwe. All these men there development agenda helped the East after the war. All our present governors are total misfits and they are propelled up by the government at the center. Example the aberration that happened in IMO state recently. |

jimyjames: No matter what even our leaders in south east have limited powers to do some certain things in south east even if the want to, investors most get approval from federal government to invest in some certain things, a lot of natural resources like, oil, natural gas, coal and big projects like international airports , rail projects all these belongs to the federal government Has Lagos State government not been attracting foreign money? What of Dangote, you think the refinery he is building is with his money? That's foreign money folowing investments. The problem is the kind of leadership we have in the East. Tell me which of the governors have something in his brain. All of them are total misfits. In addition the money presently borrowed won't be adequate to tackle the nations problems of infrastructural decay. So having a proactive regional target will go along way In helping solve the problems. |

It takes more than love, all those butterflies feeling to make marriage work. Marriage no easy. In fact if you go in with high expectations you may end up dissapointed. risos: The way the ordinary Nigerian is experiencing hardship, you think he is sacrificing so life will be better tomorrow.
But that's not the case it's hardship for nothing.
You borrow from westerners, you pay their companies the money to build infrastructure for you, so people will know you are working, meanwhile the money you borrowed is gone, interest is sitting there waiting for you. Most of the project fit abandon n cast.
Where is the value created?
Teach Nigerians to build and maintain road, bridges, to produce food, to install, maintain and expand power supply. These are the activities every country will be engaged in till eternity. Contract here contract there, juicy contracts, audio contract, feasibility study, panels, subcommittees, etc
Na people, humans na him dey develop him environment no be money dey develop environment.
See all the mansions build in Lagos and Abuja all empty and dusty.
What do Nigerians want? When are we? Where are we going to?
Madam pass me one plate of fresh fish pepper soup and one bottle of whiskey make I take reason this matter.
22 billion dollars, in Aisha's voice...Bubu we need to talk. Actually there is nothing wrong in borrowing. All these developed and developing countries our people are running to built there infrastructures and nation with borrowed money. US is the most indebted nation in the world. Even China's debt is high. But those countries channel these borrowed money to critical areas. Take for example only steady 24hours light in Nigeria will add great value to the economy and quality of life of the common man. Likewise good accessible road networks. But what we are against is channeling the money to irrelevant, unproductive and looting things. |

jimyjames: The reason Nigeria is like this , its because they neglected the only region that has the ability to turn things around in this country, as long as this region is neglected Nigeria will never amount to anything Actually the region neglected has to rise up to the challenges facing it. It's not a must we depend on central government for development. No not at all. If you understand global financing $27 billion dollars is a chicken change for a country as big as Nigeria to overhaul her dilapidated, and broke down infrastructures In addition majority of the money is not even channeled to critical things needed to jump start Nigerian economy. Pulling money for infrastructural investments is not that difficult in our present global financial world. And the East is a good return on investment region more than others. I just feel it is lack of knowledge especially on the side of our elites in the East. For example place South East on the scale of rating agencies such as standards and poor, moody or Fitch and you will see they will get a better rating for investments more than other regions. Like I said Nigeria is not even our problem, because with all things going for Nigeria and almost 60 years after independence, she is still groping in economic stagnancy. The time has come for smart, intelligent, visionary and futuristic leaders to arise from the region and give sound leadership direction to the East. That's the only solution. We have more than the capacity to do that. |

Invest in the middle belt. Activate their agricultural sector.

But God always have a way to fight for the marginalized. Look at Nigeria going to almost 60 years as a nation, but still revolving round the same spot. 9gerian: The bolded assertion below is untrue and very debatable, especially when you consider that a good number of Igbos cultivate and support baby factory business as though normal in their culture.
What about the role of inheritance by Igbo women?
Also, what of a woman’s treatment at the demise of the Igbo husband?
This doesn’t mean there are no positive attributes that can be observed of Igbos and their tradition. It just simply means that every tribe / people have their own way of showing value and protection for their families, hence every tribe has its pros and cons, and we should all strive to imbibe the right qualities regardless of tribe.
Finally, what’s your opinion about Davido and Chioma’s marriage? Can we also juxtapose that with your opinion about Peter Okoye and Lola’s marriage? I’m almost certain that your opinions about these 2 marriages would conflict.
Therefore, let’s be guided when we make blanket statements about a whole tribe, because the same measure that you use would be returned to you; even worse! The main thing is that not everyone is open to inter tribal marriages that's why many parents are against it. Sometimes it carries so much risk and wahala. Many will claim in this modern age that culture doesn't matter, but of course culture does matter. Especially Moreover most of the thing we call love is very fleeting, it doesn't last. So one has to be careful. As for Davido/peter relationships, igbo men rarely marry that far. And families will kick against it. Unlike women may be allowed. But for guys it's very rare. Except an igbo man Who grew up outside his culture. But those ones that grew within there culture it's rare because the two cultures are way apart. |

myobjective: I have a friend from Katsina that we normally discussed political matter with from our university days. There was a day we were discussing and this same issue came up. That day, he raised an important point that we southerners and middle beltan can't continue to blame the core-northerners for all the ills of society, since we now have democracy where each states and regions are represented in the national assembly and however, the south and middle belt together have more representative and hence can force the core-north to do what is right. The question is what are our representatives doing in the national assembly.
If a state like Kano decided to ban alcoholic sales when the constitution allows the consumption of alcohol, why must they partook in the sharing of tax accrue from such. What then is our legislature doing when alcohol is mostly consumed in the south and Kano get a lion share of tax from alcohol sales when they don't even allow it in their domain?
If Nigeria must change, we must all play of part from the type of people we elected to represent us at the federal government Please can you tell me one thing the National Assembly have achieved since the inception of democracy in 1999. Do we truly practice separation of power in this our democracy? Was not a Chief Justice of the nation bundled out of office by the executive? Can it happen in sane democracy. Look at the US, President Trump was impeached by the house of representatives and was only saved by the Republican dominated Senate. That's what we call a democracy What's practiced in Nigeria is not. Let me be honest with you: we have no goals, targets as a nation. Every year, every tenure it's still the same thing, to come to Abuja t to share money, and nothing else. And as years are going, things are not improving. It's very pathetic |

Instead of you to hold them accountable all you think about is the north like obsessed side chicks. Like i said, educated illiterates. Why must everything be controlled by Abuja? Example the issue of electricity, many Southern governments were able to generate electricity but instead of channeling it to the generated areas, rather it must be channeled to the ineffective national grid. If it was not like that many southern states should have had steady electricity by now. Likewise many things must be channeled to Abuja. Decentralizarion or going into regions would have enabled each area to move at its own pace. The core North draws development of this nation back. Education wise they don't go to school. myobjective: Actually, Majority of Abuja land belongs to the Gbagi people of Suleja Emirate, the people are Gbagi but the emirate was under the Zaria emirate and during the Jihad of Usman Dan Fidoye, Zauzau was moved down to Suleja and present day Abuja, but the Gbagi in Abuja are a majority Christians, reasons why the only senator representing FCT has always being Christians.
I'm very conversant with north central very well and I can tell you that majority of people in this zone apart from Niger state and obviously Kwara and Kogi are Christians. The ethnic riots in the north has made these people to detest core-northerners. This also result in senseless killing of Hausa-Fulani (Muslim) on highway leading to Bauchi in Plateau states and road in southern Kaduna.
If Nigeria were to disintegration today, most of the areas inhabited by northern minorities will be reluctant to go with the core-north because of the history of intolerance of core north and the mutual suspicious both group have for one another.
Finally, hubris of people like you is doing more arm to the Hausa-Fulani than good, religion should never be the overriding factor to how you relate with your neighbors and people in most cases share similarity with you. Tribes in southern Kaduna, Kebbi, Plateau have a lot in common to the Hausa but religion has created too much hatred that in most cases lead people to go up in arm As in I was shocked by something's he wrote. You can imagine calling southerners and middle belt barbarians, educated illiterates. . Honestly this thread revealed a Lot of mindsets to me. AmuDimpka: People seff
So Toyota is the number one automaker doesn't make their products best..
Is Toyota better than Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini....these firms produce for niche market unlike Toyota that produces for everyone
Just like Benz....Benz isn't a car for everyone . Toyota is a car for everyone
Understand the concept of niche market
Because you sell 20 bags of pure water doesn't make pure water better than Eva or nestle bottled water
Understand this concept You didn't answer my question. Benz is in niche market what's there market capitalization versus Toyota? From market capitalization you understand how vast the scope of each is. Example amazon, Apple, Microsoft and google all have there market capitalization in the trillion dollars segment. Toyotas market capitalization is about $300billion while Mercedes capitalization is not up to $50billion. Toyota is a much bigger company in comparison to Mercedes. You are talking about niche marketing, Toyotas marketing strategy is different from Mercedes. They are in every segment of the market even the niche market that's why Lexus was made to compete in the segment of Mercedes market. So I don't see any basis someone comparing the two business wise. Toyota are excellent with there strategy and at what the do that's why they are number one automaker in the world. They have bigger capitalization They have bigger revenues They have bigger profit They are the market leader number 1 |

And why do we have rule of law and order governing each nations of the world to maintain law and order and punish those who go against them . Because if there was no law and order, complete anarchy will have taken over humanity. |
