Eligibility

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

• Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
• Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
• Be available to start your academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2018
• By October 2018, hold a first degree of at least 2.1, or 2.2 and a Masters degree
• Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country
• Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country
• Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship

Selection criteria include:

• Academic merit of the candidate
• Potential impact of the work on the development of the candidate’s home country.

Nigerians are eligible to apply. Note that unlike the general commonwealth scholarship (https://www.nairaland.com/4228475/apply-2018-msc-phd-commonwealth) which requires institution and agency authority and endorsement like the Nigeria Federal Scholarship Board, in this, you apply directly to the universities. The university will select you for the scholarship if you are successful. Also, this is for only Masters program.

You guys should only create WhatsApp group at the final end after the successfuls of the scholarship have been announced whereby only successful scholars can discuss on their way forward (travelling, money, academics abroad, studies)

For now, having a WhatsApp group is more than useless. If not for our engagement here, I doubt the last year successful list will be out at that period.

PTDF: INTERVIEW FOR BOTH MSC AND PHD AS NO MORE APTITUDE TEST

There will be no aptitude test according to Flexisaf. Current information from them is that interview only will be conducted.

Hence shortlisting this time could also involve the partner schools. So ensure you check the entry and admission requirements of your proposed school and course to determine if you can gain admission. Just google your proposed school and course and check for entry requirements in the school website.

Endeavour your two referees can be contacted and will give a good account about you.

Don't forget to write an astounding personal statement and a succint research proposal (for PhD).

If you have submitted, don't feel bad. You can still edit your application. But after you finish editing, click on submit again so your information will be updated.

industry (of not more than 5 pages) to include: Topic,
introduction, objective, methodology and mode of data

Reason why you want to undertake the study, relevant of the study to industry and its expected impact on national development. Maximum words 500.

In the application portal:
Why you wish to acquire the scholarship,
why you wish to obtain the qualification listed as your choice (for M.Sc. candidates) and that of your chosen research area (for PhD candidates), and;
how you think you will benefit in terms of your career and personal development from obtaining this scholarship and resulting qualification once you have returned to your home country.

Please also give full details of any particular areas in which you like to concentrate as part of your course of study research while on your program oversea.

1. Those who chose any Germany school should only just register on DAAD website preferably on or before February 5th. Do not do anything else on the DAAD website as PTDF will secure admission if successful.

2. There will be either interview or aptitude test for MSc and interview for PhD candidates. So prepare very well. You are also required to have your transcripts ready if successful to the next stage

3. You can choose one country if you desire however it will make sense to choose three different universities and courses so your won't be restricted.

4. You can edit your application after submitting. But make sure that you click submit again to update your details

5. The deadline of application is February 5th, 2018 and might not be extended. Please take note.

After registration and verification, login to the website. click on personal funding, then search for Nigerian-German training programme. The first on the list is for masters while the next one is for PhD application. I'd advise you use a laptop to make it easier.…or change your browser to desktop view.

Put in your BSc Project and write "Unpublished " or "Ongoing" if it is in publishing phase

3. Scroll and click on German_Nigeria training program (there are 2 for Nigeria, the 1st is Msc while the 2nd is PhD)
4. Fill out your personal info
5. Download the form. I have not been able to view the form though

But on the DAAD website, I saw and read the details of the Nigerian-German training programme and discovered that PTDF address was given as the contact and consulting address. The application for this programme closes on Jan 31.

Can you post the site and let us see. Perhaps, PTDF are not even aware.

Is not a must that u have to choose the 3 countries. U can choose 3 different programs from the same country. I didn't like any course from that jing jung country so I took France first then took Germany for 2nd and 3rd

I am thinking they mean Exam number. Did they ask for both exam number in the application and PIN number.
