You can just apply since you have noting to lose as the application is free. However, NYSC cert is compulsory so don't b angry if you aren't shortlisted for later stage. You can upload call up letter to try it out and see how it goes.

Membership gives u added advantage if your scores in the same state arej same but u can apply if u are not a member. What matters most is your performance during test and interview.

UPDATE ON 2018/2019 PTDF SCHOLARSHIP

1. The application is free of charge. When you register, your PIN will be sent to you. Hence, no more purchase of scratch card.

2. The website to put in your application is http://ptdf.flexisaf.com. It is now working

3. You can apply to any university in any country in the course attributed to it. You have three choices to make. That means that you can choose a university in France as first choice, Germany as second choice e.t.c or you can choose all your preferred university in same country.

4. If you do not see your course, you can apply to related course. For example, if your first degree is in Computer Science, you can apply for Petroleum Data Management or if your read Cell Biology, you can apply for MSc Environmental Sciences e.t.c

PhD

4. Must submit a research proposal relevant to the oil
and gas industry (of not more than 5 pages) to
include: Topic, introduction, objective,
methodology and mode of data collection;
5. Applicants must also include their masters degree
project

Selection Process, Criteria & Requirements
PTDF scholarships are highly competitive and only candidates who are outstanding across the board are selected. A selection committee will be constituted to assess applications using the following criteria; Academic merit as evidenced by quality of degrees, full academic transcripts, other professional qualifications acquired, and relevant publications to be referenced by applicant (PhD applicants only)
Membership of professional bodies
The viability of the study/research plan. Applicants are required to make a case for their scholarship by submitting a statement of purpose (maximum 500 words) stating the reason(s) they want to undertake the study, the relevance of the proposed study to the industry and its expected impact on national development.

Under this scheme, candidates are invited to apply through PTDF to specific programmes at the partner institutions in any of the three countries (full list of sponsored courses is available below). The award includes the provision of flight tickets, payment of health insurance, payment of tuition and bench fees (where applicable) as well as the provision of allowances to meet the costs of accommodation and living expenses. The programmes will also include language classes to aid scholars settle into their new environments. Please note that the Fund will be responsible for obtaining admissions for the candidates to their selected programmes.

yes but they charge you fees and you are likely to get just partial scholarship.

A. POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES OFFERED

Ph.D. Degree Programmes

These are available to holders of M.A; M.Ed.; M.Eng.; M.Sc.; LL.M; M.Comm.H.; and M.P.H degrees, with a minimum of 60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score in their Master degree programmes. A Ph.D. degree programme runs for a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for full-time candidates OR a minimum period of 48 calendar months and a maximum period of 60 calendar months for part-time candidates. Relevant Courses will be taken for the Ph.D. studies where prescribed and a Thesis is required at the end of the Ph.D. programme.

M.Phil /Ph.D. Degree Programmes
Candidates who score between 55.00 and 59.99 percent can apply for admission into the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil/Ph.D.) degree programme. The M.Phil/Ph.D. degree programme is available only to full-time candidates. It runs for a minimum period of 12 calendar months and a maximum period of 24 calendar months and a Dissertation is produced after the research work. Candidates in this category are eligible for conversion to Ph.D. candidature, following a progress assessment report to be made by a Panel of Examiners at the end of the first session of registration. To be eligible for conversion for the Ph.D. program, candidates are expected to score not less than 60% (aggregate) at the end of the first session.

Master Degree Programmes
M.A.; M.Ed.; M.Eng.; M.Sc.; M.Com.H., LL.M and M.P.H. degrees run for a minimum period of 24 calendar months and a maximum period of 36 calendar months for full-time candidates OR a minimum period of 36 calendar months and a maximum period of 48 calendar months for part-time candidates. All Master Degree Programmes are by course work. This is in addition to a research report at the end of which a Dissertation is produced

Postgraduate Diploma Degree Programmes
Postgraduate Diploma degrees are available to candidates with a Third class (honours) degree.

Applicants are to note that programmes automatically lapse at the expiration of the prescribed maximum duration for each programme. However, a candidate may apply for an extension of not more than 12 months, in the first instance, subject to a maximum of two such extensions.

Above 3.5/5 gpa is accepted from unilorin for universities that still use gpa scheme. 60% and above is accepted for that use percentage scheme.

While unilag and some other university require 4.0/5 for gpa scheme and still 60% and above for percentage scheme.

Unilorin accepts 3.5 gpa for PhD too.
