ON IELTS AND TOEFL

I guess this is for academic purpose, hence ensure to select IELTS/TOEFL academic

Both are English tests to assess your English language proficiency. As a English
speaking country, we are not meant to write this test but many universities insist we write.
However, most UK universities accept WAEC C6 in lieu of this exams:

IELTS is better because it is highly recognised in any school in the world.

TOEFL is not acceptable in UK and most European schools but useful elsewhere.
Particularly in d US and Canada

ON GRE

GRE assesses your academic ability and critical reasoning and it consists of Maths, English and Writing.
It is usually required for admission for MSc and PhD in schools in USA, Canada, middle east, Turkey e.t.c
If u score very high mark in GRE and meet d requirement set, u might b given scholarship.

In UK and many other European university, GRE is not required for admission or scholarship.

Team GRE but GRE is not for English. My wonderful GRE score of 161 Quantitative and 154 Verbal is about to expire. I didn't use it - no money, no admission. Painful.

From past, I think PTDF local scholars receive laptop and one million naira annually. Usually one to two years for MSc
and three to four years for PhD. I do not know of recent trend.

But I do know that nowadays PTDF seems not to care about local scholars unlike foreign scholars who they pamper.
Since there is change of management, the issue would most likely be resolved. U can further ask "widrics" who was among
those who won last year Local scholarship.

after d PhD interview. All results of PhD and MSc will b scrutinized further as PTDF are looking for cheap option though many people will get their choice. PhD interview will end today and results of d previous days has already been decided. PhD and MSc successful lists is usually released together.

Expect the list of successfuls latest first to second week of August. If selected, ensure u have international passport and admission for September entry. Those who need ATAS Certificate should apply for ATAS as soon as possible. U don't need scholarship confirmation.

OVERRELIGIOUSITY is one of the reasons why Nigeria is like this. We tend to b illogical and attribute help and problems for God to solve without working and striving for it. Nigerians believe by going to churches and mosques all their problems will b solved thereby making d country lack creativity, innovation and advancement.

We have more religious centres in almost all places with industries only in few selected states. We are the most religious yet the most corrupt cos we are bad with no human feeling. We believe we can get away with any bad deeds by visiting the religious centres and giving alms regularly and pray for forgiveness of God. The so called leader in d religious centre wil pray for u extremely thereby giving u self- contentment and self-worth.

The advanced country has churches and mosques but have many industries in all places. They are fair in judgement and believe in hard work and innovation to achieve success and seek God mercy. There is no difference btw poor and rich in terms of dressing, housing and neccessity things in life. They give their citizens welfare packages and benefits.

Is this not what religious country like Nigeria should do if actually u guys are sincere. Are we not rich enough? Corruption has killed us and even religious centres are propgating them. How can u accept million dollars as religious alms without ask even asking for its source. Majority of Nigerians are hypocrites. The bad leaders we have are reflection of the society.

Your explanation is ok. But asking an applicant on phone which School or country he or she would like to go to does not add up at all. Moreover the clarifications by flexi does not make sense since it is ptdf that does the actual shortlisting so something is wrong somehow and does not add up.

The calling is normal. They called last year too and d same pattern was followed.

Just pray your name is in d final successful lists of OSS and LOCAL whether you are called or not. Quite a number of guys who werent called made d list.

No need to argue or mull over it.

If u are being called it simply means they want more clarification and your score boundary warrant scholarship so u do not miss out hence d following reasons:

a. You scored high and being considered as a scholar and want to clarify the documents u submitted which are obscure

or

b. They want to ask if u might want PTDF overseas partnered institution such as in Brasil etc

or

c. Seek your opinion if you will accept local schools especially if u chose foreign schools in your application.

If u didn't receive any call don't panic but two things are involved :

a. You are among those who scored tremendously well in your state with no trace of of inconspicuousness and therefore will b given their choice.

b. You scored very low hence wont b considered for scholarship.

Those who require ATAS Certificate should apply for it now if u want to go for September admission.

You don't need scholarship to apply for ATAS as it is free. You will need to submit your ATAS Certificate along with your documents during Visa interview.

The successful scholars name will be out after the PhD interview is sorted.

UPDATE ON PTDF AFTER TEST

Due to low oil price and economic crises, only few people will be admitted for overseas scholarship this year. If u choose Brasil and Germany schools with partnership with PTDF then this may be secured.

The exam is quite unfair so is life. However, there is still hope because selection though determined by your state, in case of discrepancies, the course chosen, O level and Female gender is still accounted for.

If it happens any of you get local scholarship, kindly choose IFP school, Shell Centre of Excellence Benin, OAU Centre of Excellence and private universities.

There school fees is over a million and u get quality education and conducive environment with no strike and lecturer problem. Do not choose to go to any regular schools. No real impact and differences between u and undergraduates.

ENQUIRIES ON PTDF PAST QUESTIONS AND ADMISSION

ON PAST QUESTIONS

The is the first time PTDF Consultant, Flexisaf will be conducting the test so technically there are no past questions; do not b scammed.

However, there are past exam format which can be obtained in the link below:

From the above past question link, only focus on the Part B that relates to your discipline and know the answers. Morever, it could guide u on topics to read on. Do not read Part A of the past question link.

NB: This year exam will be Computer based test in Objective form. Part A is the English Language section which is compulsory. The
second section (Part B) is about the course you are applying for and carries bulk of the marks. READ INSTRUCTION and GUIDELINES before you begin the test. There might be NEGATIVE MARKING.

OTHER MATERIALS

For the Part A, know your basic English, sentence completion and correction, passages and vocabulary ( Synonyms and Antonyms).

For Part B, in addition to the previous info, read your textbook, browse through the internet about your focus area and check the following website and choose your discipline to familiarise yourself by clicking on d option

ON ADMISSION

Do not panic and just focus on your test if u have not got admission. Even if u don't get admission, u can defer the scholarship for a year.

If u want to obtain admission this year, it is achievable within a week or two even in top UK school so far admission deadline has not passed. When u apply and u meet the requirements, e-mail the admission team of d respective schools that u need admission letter for scholarship processing. For USA and most other countries, admission for September 2017 is closed but u can apply for January 2018 admission which is still open.
