February is not far, God's grace! LegendHero: Lol what is Obi track record for his loss at the polls to be Nigeria loss? You think you are conversing with your fellow Obidients?
Soludo future depends on how he navigates it and the alliance he build. But I see prospect in him which was why I mentioned him. It could be anybody.
About one Nigeria continuing, you see that Tinubu, he will be your president and he will crush IPOB. Don't think Tinubu will be slack like Buhari, just watch. |

So you think the people that has been blocking restructuring in the national assembly are Igbo legislators? APCHaram: And the topic is discussing why you igbos are totally against restructuring back to full Republican arrangement.
Why are you Osus against a return to regional governance but hell bent on either preserving the Zikist arrangement or repeating your annexation of the Niger Delta.?
Answer me this. |

I'm from SS but you argument especially your responses are a total waste of time lacking in points. You can't even make a reasonable point why you called the 1966 coup lead by someone from the SS an Igbo coup APCHaram: Oh, you deny Kaduna now just as you are denying Ekpa. |
Politics › Re: Tinubu Was Stuck On The Road To The Stadium For 2hrs 'cos Of Crowd On The Street by DMerciful(m): 8:12pm On Jan 04, 2023 |
Obi not winning is not a misfortune, that's where many people got it wrong. The average Igbo man is not emotionally attached to politics or presidency. Obi not winning is Nigeria's loss however Obi has to win if one Nigeria must continue. You're ok with Soludo now because he allowed himself to be used to betray Igbos? All the Igbo men that betrayed Igbos like Okorocha, Umahi, Amaechi, Kalu....haven't Nigerians forgotten about them politically? Obi is a needle with a thread to sew the broken fabric of North and South, Obi has to win. Nobody should say they never saw it coming! LegendHero: Agitation? Maybe you no sabi my moniker.
It is not a matter of Tinubu will never be president, we already crossed that bridge.
I have never for one day doubt Tinubu victory at the polls. Infact, all the things I do on Nairaland is just for banters, conversing with you guys is just to spend time and not because I think your candidate can ever win.
Hear this, Peter Obi misfortune is because he comes from the SE, his region do not have the numbers and it is statistically impossible for him to win the presidency without the Northern coalition. Maybe Soludo will achive that, but not OBi presently.
To win a national election. You need one of: 1. North + SE/SS 2. North + SW 3. SE + SS + SW + NC
Peter Obi currently has none of the combination, so how will he win? |

Be wise! We are talking of people that shook the foundation of Nigeria from the earliest time, you're talking of NOI of 2002 APCHaram: You can not cherry pick who is Igbo and who isn't from among the Delta Igbo.
If NOI is Igbo Amaka , so also is Kaduna . |

Between 2003 and 2011 when Bubu failed 3 times, how many times did he win Kano and Borno? Biodun556: With China and Indian behind Russia, all western economic sanctions failed. The two most populated countries on earth consume Russian fuels to the extent that it insulated Russia of all sanctions.
Kano and Borno are vote boosters, enough to give at least 1/5 of total votes needed by a candidate to win |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Was Stuck On The Road To The Stadium For 2hrs 'cos Of Crowd On The Street by DMerciful(m): 7:56pm On Jan 04, 2023 |
February nor far. Hope you wont start agitation because Tinubu will never be president. It will not be allowed by any means LegendHero: If Kano produce 1.5million vote, then that means Anambra will produce 200000 votes.
Kano won't produce nothing less that 4million votes this time. People are being mobilized and people will turn out to the voting booth. Just dey there dey play for Nairaland.
The biggest mistake Tinubu enemies made was making him get the APC ticket. They should have tried everything to make sure he never get the ruling party ticket.
For Wike, the greatest mistake he made was making PDP zoning committee throw the presidential primaries open for all. At that point, Atiku emerged the candidate that very day Ortom made the statement.
In life, you have to stop some people at a stage, or else, they will be unstoppable. |
Politics › Re: Why Do Igbos Reject Restructuring Back To Regionalism by DMerciful(m): 7:54pm On Jan 04, 2023 |
You do realise that Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu is from present day Delta State, right? This coup you call Igbo coup was led by a SS man! APCHaram: Among peoples of the south, the Igbo remain the only people to be silent on the quest to return to true fiscal federalism.
So why are the Igbos refusing to consider restructuring but rather bent on Biafraism?
Ask them this simple question and you will see the fallacy of Biafra unfold.
Fact remains that the Igbo can not survive either under true federalism or as an independent Igbo nation.
It is for these two reasons they are both one Nigerianists under a powerful centrist govt or a Biafran state with annexed territory far removed from the present 5 Igbo states.
We must not forget that the reasons for both the Igbo coup of Jan 15 was to avert the creation of the Calabar-Ogoja-Rivers region out of the old Eastern republic.
When Gowon created states and delianated the Igbo regions from that of the so-called minority parts of the Eastern regions, Igbos demanded to a return to regionalism even though they all supported Ironsi's unification decree 34 that saw to an end of regional governance.
When Gowon refused to bulge, the Igbos decided on their own to leave Nigeria dragging the minority regions with them.
So you see, Igbos will either support the status quo to continue or a return to their foolish annexation ploy in the form of Biafraism.
Do not be fooled. Igbos will never support restructuring and will violently oppose nigeria's breakup when it is obvious they will be left to their own design. |
Politics › Re: Analysis.. Why Peter Obi Cannot Win The Election by DMerciful(m): 7:46pm On Jan 04, 2023 |
Are you an Igbo man? sreamsense: You are fair with your analysis, but obi can't get 25% in Lagos. Do you know what 25% means? PDP will even do better than LP because existing structure of PDP. Many Igbos who will stay in Lagos to cast vote will vote for Tinubu especially those that have benefitted directly and indirectly through APC elected Igbo leaders.
Many Igbos will travel back to their villages to vote and majority of those igbos that remain will actually vote for Tinubu. Many Igbo leaders under APC or benefited from Tinubu are already working on that underground as it used to be on every election year in Lagos. Obi can't win Taraba either.
It is just noise to say obi will win Benue, with all the support obi is getting from Benue, he can only get 25%, he can't win it because APC candidate in that state is well loved. Wait for Tinubu to do his own campaign in Benue if you will not be laughing at that of obi. Outside south east, obi can't win; PDP will either win or APC, obi can only get 25% in strong places you put as win for obi outside south east |

Go and check the post election report of 2019 and see how Bubu got 75% of voters that used incident forms mainly in the North. Whatever the case may be, 2023 elections would be different from previous elections. Max kano will produce would be 1.5 million votes. Tinubu wont get more than 400k LegendHero: Hope you know the outrageous figure was what made Jonathan president in 2011 and what gave Goodluck an almost winning in 2015 where Rivers and SE are recording million votes.
Let me tell you, the Northern people come out to vote more than the South and BVAS is a blessing to the North and a curse to the South.
Check the rallies for example, do you see how Northeen people turn up for rallies? That’s exactly how they Turn out to vote. Today is Wednesday, see the massive people that turned out in Kano on a working day.
On Election Day, the South will have low turnout and no governor will inflate numbers coz of BVAS. Rivers won’t even be able to deliver 500k votes and Kano will still easily deliver 3million +.
Just wait and see. |

You cannot change over 80yrs history with blatant lies! Afamed: Lazy youth. Lagos has 5 districts . Out of the 5, the capital was located only in Lagos Island. The 3rd main land bridge you mentioned is located in Lagos Island. The remaining 4 districts have no single federal facility. Epe, Ikorodu, Ikeja and Badagry, So you can not rewrite history now , that Lagos state developed because it was Federal capital.

So Awolowo built all the bridges in Lagos and not fg? Odibembem: There is this wrong impression even held by otherwise very educated elites that Lagos State was the capital of Nigeria for so many years till 1991. That is not correct. What was capital of Nigeria was Lagos Island which even did not include Victoria Island. The mainland of today from Ikeja to Ilupeju where all vitually under the western region and only carved into Lagos State when the state was created in 1976. Perhaps to emphasize the difference between the state and the federal capital territory, Ikeja and not Lagos Island was made the capital of Lagos state. All through till 1991, the FG had jurisdiction only on the island and could only collect PAYE tax for residents there while state govt had jurisdiction over the rest of Lagos and collected the PAYE of the residents till d FCT moved to Abuja and the state govt took over jurisdiction of the entire state. Yes, federal presence on the island attracted infrastructure and development to the adjoining towns but but also created urban slums all around the state. However, know the truth, only Lagos Island was capital of Nigeria and not Lagos State. |
