Go and sit down! GEJ yearly budget never reached even #5 trillion. Are you saying he used 50% of the budget for subsidy? Liar! It's a shame many Nigeria's still havent learnt to verify info they hear from dubious politicians.
N1.2trillion was the amount spent on subsidy in 2014 alone and that was the lowest amount spent on subsidy by GEJ between 2011 and 2014. In 2011 alone, subsidy bill was N2.1trillion (this was the highest ever in Nigeria's history - the year of the massive subsidy scam which forced govt to attempt removing subsidies in Jan 2012).
On the contrary, the N1.8 trillion you quoted which was spent on subsidy by GMB was the TOTAL sum spent in 4 years, i.e. 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

See how you likened the supreme court of Nigeria to a kangaroo court? A case that went to tribunal as well as appeal court? Is it Ihedioha's job to be announcing the result? Is that not INEC job? Who cancelled the result? If INEC follow their own rules, will the election not be declared inconclusive and a rerun ordered? You are writing all these epistles because deep down you're trying to convince yourself justice was done. The supreme court ought to be a court of justice and not one of technicalities! garfield1: ON THE IMO STATE CASE, I FINALLY AGREED THAT THE SUPREME COURT GOT IT RIGHT! For simple analogy, read this:
So that you crying lots can understand, I will break the judgment down for you in a layman way. Hope Uzodinma went to court, he told the court; I was rigged.
The court asked 'Can you prove your case', he answered, 'Yes', the court said 'Okay, Prove your case'.
Hope said no problem, he called 54 witnesses, he presented results of 388 polling units across the state where his votes were excluded. At the final INEC collation centres, INEC merely write 'Not Available' in the 388 columns where the votes of APC and Hope should be recorded, whereas, the column were filled and signed by all party agents, INEC and Police at the polling units.
Hope was smart, he gather the form EC8A his agents received at the 388 polling units where his votes were recorded and signed by all party agents, he also got form EC8B in all the 388 wards where his votes was unrecorded and was not therefore signed by his (APC) party agents. He presented all of that to the court and ask the court to explain why votes recorded at the PU went missing at the Ward, Local and State collation centres.
The Court said okay, we've heard you. They turn to the PDP and Ihedioha and asked him, did you hear what Hope said and see what he presented? Ihedioha said Yes. Court now asked him, do you agree with him?, he said No. Court then asked, what do you have to say.
Ihedioha called just 1 witness, he said what Hope presented and said was false. The Court said okay, but present the truth. Ihedioha said although I don't have any form or paper to present and I don't have more than 1 witness to call, but I know what Hope said is false. The court said Okay, hold on.
The court turned to INEC, did you hear what Hope said? They said Yes. Is it true? they said we don't know. The court asked if the form EC8A presented by Hope, where his votes were included and signed by all party agents and INEC was truly issued by INEC, INEC said Yes. They ask again, do you have any other contrary results or forms from the one Hope presented, INEC said No. The court said Okay. We are coming.
The court turned to the Police, who provided security for the election, do you hear what Hope said? Police said Yes, the court asked further, were you given the form EC8A at polling units level as provided for by the law? Police said Yes. Court ordered them to present it and they did, court cross-checked if it's the same with the one presented by Hope and alas it was.
Court then called Ihedioha, come and check it and juxtapose, he did, they asked if the form EC8A presented by INEC and the one presented by Hope which Ihedioha has just seen are the same, he said Yes. They asked him, what do you have to say? He insisted, it was forged
Court then told Ihedioha, you are a thief, Hope has proved his case and they declare hope the winner.
ME? I REST MY CASE. |

OP, the fact that 5yrs on, you're still trying to convince Nigerians that Bubu is better than GEJ means Bubu is a failure. If he is better then it would have been obvious. You said sentiments should be left out but provided no data.
On education,
GEJ built 12 federal universities to ensure there is a federal university in every state. He also built almajiri schools to cater for the abandoned children up North. Bubu has not built even a nursery school.
On agriculture
GEJ administration cut our agricultural import from N1.2 trillion annually to N600 billion (50% reduction in 5yrs). Bubu keep shouting rice upandan you would think Nigerians started eating rice today.
On subsidy We were doing about N1.2 trillion during GEJ tenure but Bubu said if anybody tells you he is subsidizing anything, that person is a fraud. Bubu is subsidizing with N1.8 trillion and we are paying double the amount for petrol inspite of the subsidy even when crude is at a lower price. Who is the fraud now?
On security
In GEJ time we had Bokoharam In Bubu's time we have Bokoharam, Herdsmen, Bandits, ISWAP
On corruption
GEJ introduced IPPIS, BVN, TSA, Bubu has not introduced anything other than media propaganda and invasion of judges home 2am in the night to wipe them into line.
On election
Comparing GEJ to Bubu on electoral integrity is an aberration!
On rule of law
No comparison
All GEJ children schooled in Nigeria while Bubu Children schooled or still schooling in UK where they take presidential jets funded by taxpayers money to go for selfie taking!
No president can be worse than Bubu even if they deliberately try to.
Same person who said Abacha never stole is accusing the international community of not releasing Abacha loot |

We are stuck! LegendHero: I disagree with the above names. These guys you mentioned here will make a weak president.
The only strong southerner I can think of is among the names you mention is Wike.
Why is Buhari strong? It is because he is not always moved by media opinion. That is the first strength a president need in ruling a country like Nigeria.
When the North was blackmailing Jonathan government with Boko-Haram, he was weak to respond will full wrath of the power of the presidency and his inaction cost him the presidency seat. You need to have the heart as hard as a lion to rule this country and effect any structural changes. |

Sometimes you have to compromise, you loose a little to gain big. The Palestinians were given Eastern Jerusalem in 1998 by President Clinton and Ehud Barak the Isreali prime minister then but they refused saying they want the whole Jerusalem. To be honest, a Fayose, a Peter Obi, an Oshiomole, a Makinde, a Wike are the few southerners who can do this. If you parley with the north, its difficult to break agreements and that's why, obj though strong couldn't restructure the country. Tinubu is already parlaying and it make affect his ability to show strength. LegendHero: The bolded word is the final solution to all this. But the South still need the power, in as much as the North remain in power, you can't achieve any renegotiation.
The southerners need to carry out a structural changes in the police, military installations, federal parastatals, and a host of other places. You have to limit the hold of the North on the Nigerian architecture. You cannot achieve that by being the VP or being an outside source.
The South need a strong president that can pull things through without minding whose ox is gored. Someone like OBJ and not a weak man like GEJ. |

The East cannot get Biafra alone and you know this. Neither can we get restructuring by ourselves. The Westerners cannot either. The North is too big to be tackle by either the East or West alone unless you want Nigeria to remain as it is. Sometimes, you have to join forces to fight a common enemy and separate based on signed agreement when it's all over. Ndibunna: United for what exactly? |
Politics › Re: A United South Is The Down Fall Of The North by DMerciful(m): 9:56pm On Jan 17, 2020 |
Power eventually belongs to the people. SE governors are in opposition parties so afraid of witch hunting. The average Igbo man want quick fixes that's why they dont like Ohaneze slow approach instead want Kanu quick approach which has high probability of failure, same thing Ojukwu did( he could have delayed the war to get more allies). If Tinubu keeps silent and peradventure he gets presidency, the North will cage him and possibly make his govt ungovernable if he does anything against Northern interest. Being a Nigerian president is not the ultimate but forcing a sovereign national conference so we can renegotiate our existence and adopt a new constitution LegendHero: Tinubu is not anti-restructuring, most of you guys don't understand Tinubu. The Yorubas most times are realist and we always explore all channels before going for the target. Tinubu currently cannot show his true color because power needs to be wrestled from the North.
Forget about his culture of silence, in the background he is supporting Amotekun and without him granting the governors the go-ahead they wouldn't have pull it through. Afenifere is weak, they are not the old Afenifere and it will be hard for them to front for the SW. They don't have any power in the West to bargain for the Yorubas.
Ohanezes also don't seems to have the power. Your governors are the one that still have some power to effect changes but I am not sure if they can come together to push for something of such. Having a leader sometimes is good because it will be very easy to rally people for a common good. |

Igbos does not have a person they reverence, not even Ojukwu( Ojukwu contested and got abysmal votes, in the civil war, there was no choice for the Igbo people esp after the pogroms). Ahaneze is maybe the org that can be a rallying point. Afenifere is also pro restructuring and aligns well with Ohaneze and Igbos in general unfortunately Tinubu is currently anti restructuring and anti-Afenifere. LegendHero: I am always on and off with the game of thrones so I don't know much about the scenes you just described. However, it will be in the interest of the SE & SW to ally and forge a common path to save this Naija.
Although, there is little we can do with our online arguments, the main deal can only be perfected by the leaders of the Yorubas and Igbos. I know Tinubu is the right contact in Yorubaland but I don't seems to know anyone in the SE that can be a rallying point. |
