Did you guys just imply that we fought for nothing?... It is very clear from the tweets that nothing could be worse than the world record mediocrity of 2010-2015. Even if this government doesn't live up to expectation, we will gladly vote them out in 2019, but be ye reminded that no matter how bad this government turns out to be, the monumental achievement of booting the last mediocrity out can never be overemphasized.

At least now Nigerians know it is possible to boot out a non-performing incumbent, that is a great step forward.

Like TonyeBarcanista said, terms and conditions will be negotiated before the restoration of Biafra. There is absolutely no need fighting. That was what failed in the formation of Nigeria and we cannot repeat that mistake again. Whether Biafra or southern protectorate.... we do not know how it will be but we know Nigeria as it is, is not the future
Truckpusher:
I'm not mocking you bro.

We wanted the Biafra thing ,all we wanted was for the terms to be clearly stated but you started on the wrong note by saying that Igbos own Port Harcourt and even attempt to rename it and we protested we were greeted with insults which means in the real world and if reality comes into play we would be greeted with bullets for objecting to what you want and say.
You do not have respect for us and we are simply paying you back in your own coin.

Oga....calm down. Why your blood they hot? We have a common enemy, why can't we work together for once? We need to do this differently this time than towing the path of our fathers who obviously made mistakes that's why we are here in this hell called 'one Nigeria'

You people seem to have too many different opinions and approach but we've heard,we've read and we've also seen the intentions, plans and mindset of an average Igbo man and we have also taken note.

TonyeBarcanista.....you are a very reasonable Ijaw man that understand and appreciate the good and understanding relationship btw the SS and SE. Don't let emotion and the words of few people make you say what you do not intend to say. This is not the time for SS and SE to have any form of division whether ethnic or political. You are politically inclined and as such should build bridges for posterity sake. Nobody intends to take PH from the owners!

And you also decide for yourself too.what is the relationship btw efik man and urhobo man? Cos they created a phantom region and call it south-south. I that am a Deltan, what oil benefit have I received? Go to Agbor and see if you'll be proud to say its in the Niger Delta region. We have been abandoned development wise so why stick to south-south? Let's try Biafra the land of the rising sun
TonyeBarcanista:
You should decide for yourself. Neither the Urhobo, Ijaw and Itsekiri hate each other. The Warri crises was political and it could be traced to the 50s. Misunderstandings may happen but at no time have the Ijaws encroached into the land of the Urhobos. The Igbo may elect to be on their own but the decision of ethnic groups in the South-South whether or not to remain in Nigeria, go our separate ways or form a United Sovereign country is left to us to decide. As South-South, we have come a long way. The now defunct MidWest and Bendel existed in harmony. Old Rivers state was relatively peaceful same with Old Cross-River state. We all recognised our individual ethnic distinction.

There is nothing like south-south 50years ago! I was born n brought up in Warri even though I'm from Agbor. I witness the Ijaw-Urhobo-Itsekiri communal clashes of late 1990s. These clashes greatly affected d development of warri. My proposal is to have all the Igbo nation in one country, all the I jaw nation in another country, all the Binis in another country, the Oodua in another country and the north that owns Nigeria can keep the remaining Nigeria. These countries can live side by side in peace. How big is Sao Time? Lithuania? Malta? Israel? South Korea? They are smaller than a state in Nigeria. Nigeria is not working and that statement of unity in diversity is a fallacy n u know it
TonyeBarcanista:
This is the problem. Why not allow these people to agitate for themselves instead of speaking on their behalf? The people of the South South have come a long way. We are diverse and we have managed our differences in the best way we can. We see each other as brothers even in diversity and we maintain our distinct tribal nationality. We respect each other for recognizing us for who we are because we know that not everyone that answers "Uche" is Igbo, neither is is anyone that comes from Edo state is Bini. We know that not every Warri man is Urhobo. Some of us(Ijaws) have relatives in Ondo state but no time have we told the entire Ondo people that we are reclaiming 'part' of Ondo state, neither will you hear South-West Ijaws. That doesn't make them(Arogbos) less Ijaw than someone from Patani(in Delta state) or Ogbia in Bayelsa state.

We from Anioma we see ourselves as Igbos. I am fro Agbor and we've traced our root to Aguileri so we are Igbos and will definitely join Biafra.
atbu1983:
Anioma people have always trace thier history to Benin not Igbo. The word Anioma is a recent word created less than 60 years ago by Igbo sympathisers.

Go to the Anioma towns and villages, clans are named "Idumu" exactly like d benin.

The fact that the voice of Igbo people have be so loud in calling Anioma people Igbo doesnt not make them Igbo.

Just d way they are shouting PortHarcourt is Igbo, have few people like you kept quiet they would have made d whole world believe so.

You Igbo are extremely selfish.

If you truely love us, help us achieve our Niger Delta Republic with all the territory of the current six south south states while we support ur Biafra with all d territory of the current 5 south east state.

Dont tell me how our diversity in south south will make Niger Delta republic impossible because that will be a great lie. South south diversity is d strenght of south south. South south only have about 40 ethnic group with close similarity and history.

North East Nigeria have over 70 ethnic group and we see then as one. Why cant you see south south as one if not for ur greed to use ur population to annex south south?

Use your brain na. In the same logic why not say Enugu is Enugu not Igbo, anambra is anambra not Igbo. You can see you are not being reasonable.
atbu1983:
There are no Igbo in South South.
What we have in south is as follows:

Ika is Ika not Igbo
Etche is Etche not Igbo
Ukwuani is Ukwuani not Igbo
Igbanke is Igbanke not Igbo
Anioma is Anioma not Igbo
Ndokwa is Ndokwa not Igbo
Ekpon is Ekpon not Igbo
Adoni is adoni not Igbo
Asaba is Asaba not Igbo
Ikwerre is Ikwerre not Igbo
Opopo is Opopo not Igbo
Itsekiri is Itsekiri not Yoruba

THERE IS NO IGBO IN SOUTH SOUTH. IGBO IS RESTRICTED TO SOUTH EAST ALONE.

Just d way cotonou ( Though with similarity to Yoruba) is not Nigeria, that same way no single part of south south is Igbo.

We south south nations love our diversity. Our diversity is our strenght. We dont want IGBO, HAUSA or YORUBA in our dream republic.

Thanks for your response. Sinecerely I honestly want Igbos and Yorubas to cooperate more, to have more healthy relationship and I am honestly tired of this cold war. But the most important reason why I want both groups to work together more is cos they hold the key to turn Nigeria to Europe standard. Cheers man.
MrPresident1:
I am no tribalist, I just lay bare the facts. You keep deceiving yourself that some people are holding you back from leaving, rally the state houses of assembly in your states to raise a motion that they all want to secede, let your elected representatives table the matter at senate and the house of Reps, let your governors raise the matter at the National council of state, you will be allowed to secede. Stop deceiving and consoling yourself, nobody is holding Biafra from going out of Nigeria.

However, in as much as I have said this, I know fully that the Yorubas and the Igbos are essentially the same people spiritually, both are however presently dislocated from spiritual heritage, we both came from the same source.

Yoruba are not in any alliance with Fulani, forget the play that is being staged by the people who think they have brought the Yoruba people to the centre, there is no concord between Fulani and Yoruba because they are not the same people, they are spiritually a different and disparate people, Islam is the only region of contiguity between both tribes and this is the reason majority of the Yoruba supporters of this present arrangement are Muslims. The Yoruba intelligentsia has nothing to do with Buhari, time will prove me right.

Who are Rivers people? Who are south-south people? Were these names mentioned 100yrs ago? Hausa man gave you a name and you are proudly answering it.
TonyeBarcanista:
I neither disputed nor agreed by the claim that some IPOB youths arrested were indigens of Rivers state. I won't comment on that.

My position on this subject is very clear and wouldn't want to drag it. It is not about PDP or APC but about outhe South-South people. If the Igbos want a united SSSE front(which is very good), then we must define terms of agreement. Some of the terms are;

1. They stop calling PHC as 'Igweocha' because the status of Portharcourt as the exclusive property of Rivers people as presently constituted is non-negotiable.

2. Respect for our Greats like Isaac Adaka Boro, Ken Saro Wiwa and every other Niger Deltan Heroes. Also respect for our fathers and stop calling us 'Traitors' because I can't remember any treachery. The respect must also be to our present generation that have been bearing pains to swallow pills they never bargained for.

3. Respect for the decision of South South people as a whole and as individuals on this subject irrespective of their/our/my position. Irrespective of whether they agree with some of your position or not.

These to me are very fundamental to real unity. We don't have to fight each other.
Politics › Re: . by DMerciful(m): 10:09am On Oct 24, 2015
Biafra now will be structured to include Igbo speaking people of Nigeria. From Edo igbo, delta Igbo,Rivers Igbo to eastern igbos. If Ijaw come with us it will be for numerical strength afterwards they form their separate ijaw country just like Serbia and Montenegro but later Serbia one country and Montenegro another. We can live side by side as two countries with good relations. This way its a win-win. In carving out these countries we won't talk about states created by the Nigerian govt but areas where the ethnic groups reside. E.g the Igbo speaking part of river state will go with Biafra while the ijaw speaking part will go with ijaw nation. I am delta Igbo btw
Truckpusher:
When you trivialize the genuine fear and agitation of others it only exposes your inherent hypocrisy and it is getting clearer that all the shout of 'we are one' wasn't borne out of any genuine hunger for oneness but a charade and the highest level of deceit but trust me nobody will buy that dummy in this 21st century.

I've raised a valid point that would require any man with a sound sense of judgement who believes in any kind of genuine agenda to pause and ponder and speak wisely even in deceit but nay , all we've seen so far is the same repeated rhetoric of "We don't want your oil" , "we don't need you" , "Igbos are great people" "we are better than you" well , it's free for every man to feel important but don't you think that the same spirit of being more important than others based on a delusion of grandeur is also inherent in another man?

You know sometimes I laugh at the level of ignorance being exhibited by you folks - it goes a long way to show that you don't even know what you want at all. You're just talking and making noise simply due to the umbrella of democracy provided by a democratic Nigeria and be committing treasonable felony and walk scot free while calling others traitors all in the name of freedom of speech and expression......smh

You don't want to remain in Nigeria , which is your right but the question is why are you hell bent on coercing others into your Biafra? Isn't that one of the reasons why you're running away from Nigeria ? Why are you trying to do the same thing you've rejected being done unto you ?
Honestly , you guys would make better comedians.

My take is simple , we are not against you but please for the sake of tomorrow , kindly leave us out until you reach out to us with respect that we deserve then we might just consider. Is that one too much to ask for ? We've warned you , don't say we didn't make our position known.
Tell your kinsmen, this is 2015 and not 1967 where our parents were simply told to run because there is a war coming , how the war started they didn't know , who started the war they didn't know yet they died in their thousands both on the battle field and in their peaceful villages ,and their only benefit from the war was a total subjugation and degradation of their habitat yet you ungrateful scums call them traitors? Smh. You guys do have a problem.

You said Yoruba voted for Bok0hari to spite igbos now the question is why are you fighting for one Nigeria with Igbos if you despise them?
MrPresident1:
Igbo greed destroyed the political solidarity of southern Nigeria.

With the benefit of hindsight, I have concluded that the 1966 coup was an Igbo coup even though I had initial reservations about this earlier. Nzeogwu may have had nationalistic intentions, but the likes of Anuforo, Ifeajuna, Okafor and perhaps even Ironsi were motivated by that Igbo innate propensity to want to lord it over others.

They repeated the same mistake with GEJ and that one was politically naïve and took the bait. He allowed himself to be controlled by neophytes in the political game, had GEJ aligned with the Yorubas early enough, he definitely would not have lost that election. Igbos used the poor man and destroyed his political legacy including that of the PDP.

Yoruba voted Buhari not because he gave any sound political arguments or enunciated any solid economic policies, they voted Buhari simply as a reaction to Igbo greed!

Yoruba will not be servants of the Igbo in the same country, let us all be slaves of the Fulani, after all, they are a capable people too!

You dont need an angel of God to tell you that Nigeria will remain so forever without appreciable improvement. There is no desire by the 'owners' of Nigeria to do so, so what are you saying? This country needs to split to progress. that is the only way
TonyeBarcanista:
After the announcement of the result of March 28 Presidential election, I recall vividly how some of us brought about the idea of a collective unity of interest and purpose between the South-South and South East geopolitical zones within the Nigeria State. I remember calling for a restructured Nigeria that will promote the interests of all citizens irrespective of ethnic group. I also remember saying that in absence of that, a referendum be held among citizens to determine whether the people of the South South and South East prefer the present Nigeria structure that favours no one over a separate sovereign State, the Lower Niger Congress/Federation that will favor citizens of the region, and also define the right, interest and terms that is acceptable to all ethnic nationalities that make up the 'federation'. I remember maintaining that this struggle should not be seen as confrontation with other groups and regions but must be confined in the most legitimate manner. It should be one that promote the legitimate interest of the SSSE and not one that set the SS/SE against other regions. This remains my position!

Let me state that the struggle for a better Nigeria that promotes good governance, equity and fairness irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation remains my primary objective. The LNF is meant to be an alternative where the hope for restructured Nigeria diminishes. Though some of my brothers either prefer a united Niger Delta Republic or an exclusive indivisible Nigeria. That however, will be determined by a referendum should there be any. I, shall however align myself with the position of my people.

The IPOB Struggle Not Our Interest
The Mr Kanu-led IPOB struggle for an independent Biafra is not in conforminity with legitimate struggle for TWO basic reasons:

1. It promotes hate and violence against the State, other ethnic groups and also against members of Igbo ethnic nationality that does not share the Biafran ideology as preached by Kanu and his IPOB crew. Violence was never part of the UN charter on self-determination

2. The ethnic Nationalities in the Niger-Delta are yet to enter into any agreement with anybody as regard the composition, structure or otherwise of the IPOB proposed country. We are already facing a challenge in Nigeria where our forebearers in their wisdom failed to define terms of our unity as a country. In fact, we are working on correcting these anomalies legitimately.

In addition to the above, I find it disrespectful and insulting on the sensibilities of the Ijaws(Okrikans) and the Ikwerres over claim by some IPOB promoters that Portharcourt belongs to the Igbos and they will "reclaim" it. Unfortunately, no promoter of the IPOB struggle has stated otherwise. For the record, the status of Portharcourt as the exclusive ownership of the Okrikans(PH South) and the Ikwerres is non-negotiable. Specifically, not a single inch of Okrika and other Ijaw land, whether in PH or anywhere else will be surrendered to anyone under any guise.

I recognise and respect the right of everyone to self-determination but I have to state that the Kanu-led IPOB ideology is not what my people desire. I also respect the right of our Igbo brothers to their own interest but I disagree with call for violence as propagated by members of IPOB.

I remain committed to the interest of the Ijaw nation, the Niger-Delta region and also that of every good citizens of the Nigeria State whether Igbo, Yoruba, Berom, Fulani, Igala, Idoma etc.

But know that a President cannot decide to grant secession wish of a group even if he is from that group, he doesn't have the power. The constitutional powers of the President is not inclusive of that. It has to be through the Senate that will pass a law of referendum in our constitution. See! has nothing to do with command. Ballmer:
. The Yorubas do not need the forgiveness of the Igbo for not siding them during the civil war. The Igbo can go to hell for all I care. I see any Igbo out there as a brother but am more resolute than ever not to live in peace now with any Igbo home n abroad. The Igbo have the right to war but their father dead or alive does not have the right to drag the Yorubas to war with them and in as much as the Igbo wanted to be tolerated with their choices the Igbo tribe should respect the choice of the Yoruba not to enter the war. On that note no demented Igbo should seek any apology concerning a war that the Yoruba decision proved supreme. Is it not senseless Igbo want Yoruba to apologise for siding with the winning team ? How does anyone do that ?

.

The choices of the microscope few is echo by 99.9% of Igbo worldwide. What I hate about the rift btw the Yoruba n Igbo is after grandstanding Igbo's will always end up playing victim after needless provocation. Why not live up to to your grandstanding for once ? Igbo nuisance is not just on SM with choosing who Iya olijas and baba olojo in Yorubaland.

In conflict resolution you do not blame (a party) the Yoruba elders for boldly stating their stand after relentless provocation by the igbos. Here you are playing victim antagonising the Yoruba elder for exactly redirecting the society toward peaceful coexistence. Here is how, please what do you call the invitation of Igbo elders by Akiolu before the election ? Is that not a medium to reach out to this igbos ? Did Fashola n Tinubu not hold another rally to solicit the support of the Igbo as well ? I do not see where any other tribe was accorded such respect. The Deji of Akure granting the igbos the Eze title is that no respecting the wish of the Igbo in that domain ? Why did he not order the Eze to be manhandled to his palace instead of inviting him over ? You myopically chose to ignore all this overtures n would rather blame Yoruba elder for failing to performing the role you dictated only to play victim to your advantage. You are very stupid for everything you wrote here.

Igbo man you do not make passionate plea to both sides while slighting a party(the Yoruba). I feel thoroughly slighted with the outlook of you write up and if you are sincere and desire peaceful coexistence you should dedicate yourself to writing another epistle where the entire Igbo race would be thoroughly lambasted for the rift whether they are the cause or not does hold water. That is paying back in the same coin disdain the Igbo race have treated several appeals by the Yoruba on this forum.

You should lecture your tribe that they have no single right to make a claim or even seek equal status with the Yoruba on their land. Federation or no federation country or no country. Only then should the Yoruba consider your plea not accept. Personally I would chose to fight this to the end to see what the Igbos are capable of. I am sick and tired of hearing any noise from your tribe and would rather finish this once and for all. I do not mind paying whatever personal price it is to silent the Igbo race completely and forever. I do not care if Aboki keep being the president after all the Obasanjo n Jonathan that were president never added a dime to my pocket.

Finally you can continue to sober, I have nothing to sober about. I might after dishing out the venom you injected in me but for now I love the way Igbos are being thoroughly rubbished all over Yorubaland and would love that it continues till your entire tribe start begging for leniency. Not just your governors this time around every gala seller, Alaba boy n every Igbo home n away.
