There was a reason Awolowo was jailed. Ojukwu without understanding this reason released Awolowo and that was his undoing. His action brought defeat to him through Awolowo's betrayal. That remorse may have led Awolowo to commit suicide like Judas Iscariot |
Politics › Re: Why We Must Support Biafra by DMerciful(m): 11:28pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
GEJ was committed to the confab hence he organised it. Don't make unnecessary assumptions. SW has been singing restructuring in national conf but vote against resource control in d national assembly! I do not blame them....I blame the SS...they prefer to remain in their servitude to SW and North due to their unfounded fear that igbos want their oil...d so called oil that belongs to Jigawa. Do you need an angel of God to tell you Nigeria is not working? And after 55years for that matter? Not everybody wants a wretched life and to think you're from SE and has accepted servitude is strange! obailala: May I inform u firstly that I am from the SE... Secondly it was a silly thing to remove the entire fuel subsidies instantly thereby slamming an increase in fuel prices by more that 100%; everyone was involved in the rejection except pathetically blind followers of GEJ. I'm sure you also did not support that removal in 2012. How can you tell me you are punishing 160million people because you lack the political will or courage to call some of your rogues friends (subsidy cabal) to order?
Regarding if the SW wants regional rule, they have always called for regional autonomy in every single national conference so what do you have to say about that?... The 2015 election between GEJ vs Buhari had absolutely nothing to do with a support of regionalism or not because both GEJ and PMB showed absolutely no commitment to that cause. GEJ organised the national conference simply as an election/political tool. |

You don't get it...do you? After 55 yrs of trying Nigeria has refused to work and you want us to continue trying? Eritrea was created a short while ago...are they dead? Before Germany achieved this honourable peace they fought 2 world wars. You show too much cowardice to be an Igbo man EUROBOMBER: @CrazyMan, God bless you. More of us should continue to speak out before people start mistaking IPOB for Igbos.
IPOB is a cult and should be dealt with by the government.
What we need in Igboland is good governance that's all, not Biafra.
These eediots shouting Biafra everywhere cannot tell you categorically and mathematically how and what this Biafra would look like and how it would run.
How would they provide jobs for the massive army of unemployed Igbo youths if Biafra is declared today?
How will they pay salaries?
How will they provide power, good water and all that assuming Biafra starts today?
Who is their foreign ally? They are busy cursing Britain and others!
Who are your local allies? Everybody should get lost, Biafra can survive, we can do it!
These IPOB people are very daft animals I tell you. |
Politics › Re: Why We Must Support Biafra by DMerciful(m): 10:44pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
Oh...now you agree Igbos have to lead you before you do the right thing. Even with every industry expert saying subsidy is ruining our economic growth SWers still occupied Lagos without discussion with d fg but now giving excuses y you cant do same for confab report. Like I said and honestly so you guys never wanted resource control or restructuring...you guys are just pretenders. Go back in history and look at all the national issues, SWers always sit on the fence obailala: Quit deceiving yourself, somebody always has to start the agitation.... and it is very myopic to say it is only the SW that took to the street when fuel prices jumped from N65 to N142. |
Politics › Re: Why We Must Support Biafra by DMerciful(m): 10:17pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
If SW really care about the implementation of the confab why can't they jump to d street like they did with subsidy removal? Abi dem need Igbo permission? This just tells you SW are pretenders....they don't want the implementation of d confab obailala: Look boy, this is a serious matter and calling someone an 1diot in a simple argument only exposes your pitiable level of intelligence and poor upbringing.
If you read what I wrote, it would be clear to you that it is only the north, specifically the NW and NE that are opposed to the implementation of the national conference reports and there has to be some meaningful agitations for it to be implemented. It is not enough to just sit down at home and wail that the 'north' will never allow it to be implemented, and then the next thing you do is jump in the streets and start shouting secession. What efforts or pressure has ever been put to get the conference report implemented?
If only the sort of massive agitations we are seeing on the streets today were in favour of a call for the implementation of the national conference report, I can bet my life that the entire SS and also the entire SW would support and join in the streets; south westerners are always excited to jump in the streets for protests but would only do that when the cause is reasonable (and favourable to them). So I ask again, what efforts have been made to press for the implementation of the conference report? |
Politics › Re: Why We Must Support Biafra by DMerciful(m): 10:03pm On Nov 11, 2015 |
You are not being reasonable! Look at precedence all over d world if you cannot think. FYI since 1967 when Biafra was first declared, there has been 48 new nations. That means Biafra would have been older than 48 nations. Now I ask you where did this 48 natiions come from? Yeye dey smell coogar: there's nothing for you to worry about....
the oil fields belong to the federal republic of nigeria. if you are tired of the country, logic dictates you should walk away from nigeria & settle in cameroon & other neighbouring countries!
it's a marriage. when a wife is tired of her marriage to her husband, she walks away without hassles. you are not entitled to a single drop of oil once you secede! pack your bags and leave the country! |

You dont get it, we would vote for GEJ vs PBM again if given the opportunity but this is far more than GEJ. The truth is that the conditions that triggered the 1967 Biafran war is ever so prevalent now. Has very little to do with GEJ so be guided EUROBOMBER: I personally think that the loud call for Biafra by some misguided few is very unnecessary. Why this hypocrisy? Jonathan arrested a lot of MASSOB members and we didn't have this type of protests.
Jonathan promised that he was going to finish the second Niger bridge before 2015 and he did not do it! Why did Jonathan not build the deep seaport at Ibaka which would definitely positively impact the economy of the east after 5yr The weak ijaw Jonathan quickly removed our own Ihejirika as COAS when the north cried of his excesses against boko haram.
Jonathan is not Igbo; he is ijaw. The ijaws are a highly unreliable and treacherous group of people. The behaviour of edwin clark says it all while on nairaland we have barcanista aka tonyebarcanista. It was barcanista that started the talk of Lower Niger comprising the SS & SE but today he is describing Igbos as land grabbers and expansionists.
Let us be sincere with ourselves, this sudden loud call for Biafra is linked to Jonathan's defeat at the polls otherwise why didn't we use the opportunity when Jonathan was there to actualise Biafra? Why do we now expect Buhari to give us the Biafra?
There is nothing wrong in making mistakes and we should accept that we made a political mistake by voting the weak ijaw man in the person Jonathan. let us begin to reach out to the other big two i.e the north and the west to see how we can produce the next president after Buhari.
And for those of you that hate Buhari so much, you can at least console yourselves with the fact that he will not rule forever.
OBJ was there before, today he is not there, Yar Ardua, GEJ were there before and today they are not there. Buhari is there today and in future, he will not be there so why all this madness?
Power is transient!

Education › Re: Graduate Slips Into Gutter, Drowns After Downpour by DMerciful(m): 11:31am On Nov 11, 2015 |
Look how casually a man with children died! Nigeria is a failed state Fynestboi: The victim, who was married with children, was said to be returning home when there was a downpour which flooded the road.
As the victim attempted to jump over a gutter, one of his legs was said to have been trapped.
Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that efforts to save him were abortive, adding that the 38-year-old did not struggle with the surge.
His remains were said to have been recovered in a swamp on Odediran Street on Sunday morning.
A bundle of naira notes and a teller were reportedly found on him.
A trader, Jane Nwosu, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said it happened around 1pm.
She said, “The man had just come out of the bank and he was about to cross the gutter when his feet slipped. People tried to rescue him but his head was stuck in the drainage.
“He appeared weak and did not struggle to save himself. The flood swept him through the drainage and everybody was helpless.”
A friend of the victim, who identified himself as Korede, said Talabi had been sick and had been admitted to a private hospital before he was discharged on Friday.
A relative, Ibikunle Oguntamu, said the family did not know he had been swept away by flood.
He said after Talabi did not return home on Friday evening, they became apprehensive, adding that they reported a case of missing person to the police.
“Yinka (Talabi) did not drink or womanise and he never kept late at night. When we did not see him and his phone was not reachable, we reported at the Ikotun Police Division.
“We later learnt he was swept away by water and we searched everywhere without any success. On Sunday morning, his corpse floated in a swamp behind Muslim College, Ikotun.”
During a visit to the community on Tuesday, the family lamented that the corpse had yet to be released to them for burial.
One of the relatives of the deceased, Mayowa Adebola, appealed to the police not to aggravate the sorrow of the family by delaying the release of the corpse.
“We plan to bury him today (Wednesday), and the police are holding back the clearance form, saying the Divisional Police Officer who is meant to sign the form is not around and our people have been waiting at the mortuary since morning.
“We beg them not to worsen our sorrow,” he added.
PUNCH Metro gathered that it was not the first time a person would drown in the community due to the blockage of the drainage.
A tricycle operator, who did not identify himself, said some residents were fond of dumping refuse into the drainage.
“Some time ago, around Governor’s Road, a student was similarly swept away by flood. A vulcaniser, who tried to save him, was also swept away.
“We were able to remove the boy and take him to the hospital where the dirty water was evacuated from his stomach, but the vulcaniser died.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, confirmed the incident.
He said, “The man got drowned on Sunday. He had been sick for some time and he was in his house when one of his work mates called him that their salary had been paid he should come and collect his share.
“He was returning from there when he fell into a gutter and got drowned. The police have released the corpse to them.”
