Anybody can claim to be from anywhere, some Igbos even claim to be from Israel. But no matter where one claims his ancestors are from, if the persons ancestral language and ancestral surname is Igbo, that person is Igbo


It is left for the person to explain to the world why his ancestors migrated from Edo just to abandon their language and ancestral name, and adopt that of Igbo.

What happened when you are claiming particular people to be your tribe and they refused to accept it? Do you force it down their throat. People can only say they are not from a particular tribe because they know their root. I can't claim to be Igbo God forbid. I can only claim my ancestral root. It is well understood that the Igbo people are from Israel just like it is a well known fact that the Edo People are from Egypt. Go do your research before you start arguing unnecessary.

The Inec is an umbaise umpire such that it should be totally neutral and politically independent. This appointment should be challenged in the court of law as it is totally against the rule of law. The rule of law operates in a democratic society except we are not democratic as we claimed.

The problem with this narrative is that nobody managed to tell us how those from Edo have Igbo surnames. Did Igbo also dominate them to point of forcing them to drop their ancestral surname and adopt Igbo surnames? Amaechi, Omehia and Wike are surnames of past and serving Ikwerre Governors of Rivers and those names are Igbo. How did Igbos get their forefathers to abandon their ancestral Bini surnames for Igbo?

This narrative is baseless because the Ikwere people know their roots. You claimed Ikwere people bearing Igbo names to be Igbo when they made it clear they are from Edo. I know my root and you know your root so when I say you are not from Igbo does it justify my claim? Only you know your root and can justify your root just like the Ikwere people have done. Go and ask them, you will hear them loud and clear.

Theres no problem with this except that we Igbos are going to insist that all Igbo speaking people be put in the Eastern Region. This means that Igbanke in Edo state, Anioma in Delta state, Umuezeokoha in Benue state and Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Ahoada, Asa all Igbo speaking people in Rivers state be added to the present South East to make the Eastern Region.

You are claiming people that are not Igbo. Go and read about the people of Ikwere. They are from Edo state and not igbo, Igbo language only influenced their patrilineal language because Igbo people dominated the ikwere people land... Igbanke people also had similar experience the reason they speak Igbo.
