Yea I know. What I'm saying is that nobody even mention it. People don't even know this trophy exist. Madrid won it last season yet all the media said Real Madrid went trophyless. That's why I'm wondering why all the sudden hype from English media now
When you win many trophies they suddenly stop making much sense to you.

Liverpool sacrificed the Carling Cup for this because they have never won it. I think they have only played it once in 2005 or so but lost in the final.

So it calls for celebration.

An unstable man with a gun.

It will surprise you to know that as much as 20% of the Nigerian police force are mentally unstable.

While the death of the corporal is regrettable, somewhat there is some relief that the casualty count is just two.

It makes sense why Real Madrid would have won it the most times.

This is why we should be grateful to IPOB because at a point in time they showed courage and set up precedence for a revolution that would have changed the fate of this nation but we were too concerned about how the message should have come rather than what the message is. Me too, I feel sorry for the few times I criticized them. Nigeria is no place for a gentleman.
The problem of IPOB started when Nnamdi Kanu allowed the fame and popularity he gained enter his head and he assumed an emperor mentality. He forgot "Igbo enwe Eze", the people who had clout and content that could rally around him left him to his fate, and he got the " to your tents oh Israel, look after your own house Jacob" treatment.

In this situation we are helpless because trying to carry out even an armless protest earns you a live bullet.
The thing is we are too afraid. And have over the years of tolerating bullshit built the mentality of "half bread is better than nothing". So we shrug off the desire to protest in the face of uncertainty of returning from the protest alive with yet another quote " a living dog is better than a dead lion".

The culture of cowardice deepens and we remain where we are.

A police crime database center. That's interesting.

Some officers would need to be dedicated to forensics department and every police officer needs to be trained on protecting the crime scene before the forensic team arrives.

It will be more efficient if the states have their own police force. But with collaboration from the police commission which will serve as oversight.

If there is freedom of Religion. It is interesting to note that traditionally in some places when the king dies, he is buried with a number of human heads as custom demands.

Wouldn't it be a contravention of the religious practice of the traditionalist if you stop him from searching for the human heads as his religion dictates because it is murder?

. Yeah you are right and I come to realize that it’s far easier to talk theoretically about marriage than to navigate it. I don't want to gamble with this.. I just need a happy home.
For me I think marriage should be based on three things.
1. Attraction. And clearly the things you enumerated are things that you find attracting in a woman. But beyond that. We have to talk about.
2. Compatibility. We all have a distinct character matrix, and being able to tolerate the other persons idiosyncrasies is another thing. But yet you need.
3. "Complementation". There should be a ying-yang balance else the polarity will be messed and the relationship will never evolve into something special and beautiful.

Dem never deal with you reach. Compatibility it’s what matters, or you gonna end up more frustrated in your search. Look for a lady you’re compatible with and start from there. All these settle for less or whatever would go no where cos MR man, nobody has it all.
Interestingly if you look cursorily you'll find out he is not going for someone who has it all. For instance, I don't see big boobs, large hips, pointed nose on that list. I'm even intrigued that "beautiful" is not on that list.

I do believe that in a world of over 7 billion people with at least 500 million within his specified demographics there should be one if not several that meets his short list. You'll be amazed at how much longer some people's list are in their mind.

Americans may not be Nigerians but they are humans and humans have sentiments.

So many people still think his offence does not warrant a removal from office, and that argument will further fuel the sentiments of the Republicans in the Senate.

The fact that you actually understood what I wrote to mean 2016 election results shows you're actually lack comprehension capacity.

But to clear you, America's constitution only recognises Electoral College, not on absolute votes for electoral victory for the President, and on that Trump beat Clinton hands down; 306 to 232.

I can school you on America's elections and democracy since 1999.

It's clear you find it difficult to comprehend written items, so I will do you service by explaining what I meant earlier.
It is with 2020 elections that we will know how much the American people support the president.

I still wonder why you found it so difficult to comprehend at first instance.
There is no way to access Americans support of Trump governance than with the 2016 general elections. Anyone who makes such a claim cannot mean anything other than that as there are no verifiable surveys to demonstrate the support of Americans for the Trump administration.

If you opine that it is the 2020 elections that has not happened yet, then either you have a time machine with which you travelled into the future to come to that knowledge or you're just looking for a way to win the argument and that rather compounds your ignorance.

Having said that. Dude, majority of Americans is not the same as majority of electoral college votes.

So next time use the right words. By reason of the US electoral system, Trump won the election but coincidentally he didn't win the popular vote.

One would suppose that someone privy to the above information will not go about making claims such as "majority of Americans are in support of the Trump governance"

He is the President of the USA. It's America first for him, and he owes you no allegiance or duty.

Are the majority of Americans is support this government? 2020 will tell.

Democrats just shot themselves in the foot with this charade. The house will definitely be taken over by the Republicans from the next elections.
The fact that you actually thought that majority of Americans voted for Donald Trump shows you probably was not old enough in 2016 to follow the election.

Republicans have tried twice today to derail the impeachment process and failed and it has been alleged that Trump has paid off every Republican. They just don't see how they can put him above the country. "They are not standing to their oath of office to protect the Constitution. Some may fear for their careers but I don't think that's all of it."
Even if the impeachment goes through, the trial in the Senate will fail considering it is a Republican dominated Senate, except there is a coup against Trump within the Republican party and I strongly doubt that.

You have a good writeup, I must say.
I was a full house wife for close to 2 years. Working with as an indoor editor and earning small amount of money. Not until my husband has financial turbulence and I was forced to go out and get a job. Mind you, my 2 years at home was not my husband making but to have time to care for our baby before creche. I usually ask this question, men that do not want to expose their wives to cooperate office to avoid or minimise the chances of infidelity, how about them and their secretary, colleagues, friends etc that surround them in their office environment. Are you saying men can cheat while women care forbidden to cheat ? Or are you saying men have stronger will to overcome temptation of the opposite sex than women?
When it comes to the temptation to cheat, women are the most tempted. But then you'll have to understand that the propensity to cheat and the temptation to cheat are not the same thing.

While men might be implicated in the former, thus making them more times than not the givers of the temptation, while the women on the other hand are the receivers. Considering it is rare in comparison, to see a woman actively making an attempt at a man, that establishes that axiom.

So in a case where we have a man and woman who are disciplined and determined not to cheat. The man would get no passes but the woman could get a hundred passes.

Now understanding that a temptation is "Pressure applied to your thinking designed to create wrong emotions which will eventually lead to wrong actions." Between the man and the woman who is more tempted to cheat?

And the unfortunate thing about temptations is with time, and with the ups and downs of the marriage, the defences could get weak and the resolve could wane hence the woman of integrity in that split moment of doubts and uncertainty about her marriage could cave in to the abounding options to cheat around her.

And that is why you read cases of "It happened only once and I regret it"

Fellow N/Landers

The future is unpredictable but nobody is praying for bad thing. This question have been bothering me for long. I thought it wise to it with good people of Nairaland and seeking for helpful advice.

As a man, is it advisable to marry the lady who loves you more than you love her?

please advice
I had no idea there was a "loveometer" for measuring love.

Love is intangible and cannot be measured.

But I could see most of the comments support marrying a woman who loves you more, and they paint a picture of a marital bliss if you do. But all that could be achieved if she just loves you, irrespective of whose love exceeds.

Now calling to mind the words of my Lord Jesus Christ as referenced by Paul "it is more blessed to give than to receive". So if love were quantifiable it is better to be the one with the exceeding love in the marriage.

A loss is a loss, irrespective of the goal margin.

This is however a better option, it has given those lads an opportunity to showcase at the big stage.

And now we can see their defence was woeful, and if they have to be the future of Liverpool, something must be done about that.

Romance › Re: Am I Making A Mistake? by dochenaj: 1:31pm On Dec 17, 2019
dannyla:
I opened a new account to remain anonymous.
This story is a bit long but pls bear with me.

I met this man almost 2yrs ago at an event a friend invited me to. The next week, he collected my number from my friend and called me, we began talking from there and agreed to go on a date. He proposed marriage to me on the first date which I rejected. I told him that I can't marry outside my church and from the little I've heard from him, our life dreams differ. I decided to cut him off from that day and I stayed away for about 3months. Meanwhile he got my friend to introduce him to my sis, mum and another friend who happened to be from his place, I'll call her Grace.
He made them all aware of his intent towards me and my stand and asked for their help to change my mind. Grace became his biggest ally and convinced me to have another date. He asked that we date for a while and see if we can work out our differences. During the date I noticed he has a very hot and quick temper and he listens to gossip a lot so I do tell Gracethat I don't see a future with him but he was too persistent, Grace always had words of encouragement and considering the fact that for some strange reason, it was mainly married men always approach me for a relationship with stories of how they got married to a wrong woman and they are or are almost divorced, dating a single man with no kids was very tempting and I decided to give it a try.

He asked me to tell him everything about me so there are no secrets between us and I did. Starting from secondary school to that day, I told him everything, from my first kiss, the colleague who tried to rape me, my ex who lied about his marital status and disvirgined me etc. he did the same too and I felt a burden roll off my shoulder.

Few days later I began to notice changes in him especially towards my business. I thrive in a male dominated industry in a ratio of 9men to 1woman. He asked me to show him the pictures of my colleagues which I did, he also asked if they make passes at me which I said is almost inevitable but my boundaries are clear and rigid.

Fast forward to now. I noticed that whenever I drop my phone, he goes through it. Facebook, sms, WhatsApp etc. He even picks my call when I'm not close to the phone. He asked me about a certain colleague who cracks dirty jokes like how I rushed to get married (I told him I'm already married). I didn't think much about it.

He later began to complain about my partners and how I'm sleeping with them like the prostitute I am, called me an unrepentant liar, unsubmisive, manipulating etc. Said he regrets asking for my hand at all and he's just waiting forthe day he'll catch me redhanded so he can dump my sorry a*s.
I told him to end it now cus I'm fed up, family came in and I later found out that Grace has been telling a lot of lies against hoping to get him for herself as well as hate filled advises from some aggrieved friends who felt ladies from my tribe are no good and just there to "chop money". Apologies were said and received and we continued.

Another time I visited him and we had an argument, he gave me several heavy knocks on my head and I developed a headache and began to insult him which resultedin more heavy knocks. I broke up with him and left. Later my mum called him to ask why he laid his hands on me, he denied it swearing with his life. Said I insulted him and he lost his temper and insulted me back that he's sorry. He began to drop messages everywhere and I eventually gave in.

3rd incident happened on our way back from an event. He saw a message from a colleague he told me to stop doing business with cus he feels the man has his eyes on me which is totally not true. He flared up, stopped the car and was even threatening to beat me up. I came down from his car and stood by the roadside. He came down too and gave me the insult of my life in full public view and glare and told me to enter the car which I refused. I had no money on me and had to beg a stranger for money. By that time he was coming back, he quickly took a picture of both of us and sent it to everybody of how he caught me in the act with my lover on the road. He called me and said that if he must marry me, I must break my business sim card and look for a wife friendly occupation or sit at home.

He later apologised over it. Meanwhile he and my sis don't flow as before as he once called her a prostitute.

I want to call it quits but everyone around me feels it's a mistake and he is saying everything out of anger and if I'm patient enough, he will change completely.

I must admit that he has changed alot since we met but the progress compared to the timeframe and the heat I face everyday is nothing to write home about.

He loves me to a fault
and I don't know if I can find someone who loves me like him but his other attitude is sniffing life out of me. Do I stay or quit?
Thanks for reading and pardon any typos
If this story is true considering it stinks of falsehood then you have no idea on what love is.

If someone loves you. They will be blind to your faults and shortcomings. This guy is clearly not. He is just a jealous and clingy fellow, and that's all.
