The average naija body is a breeding ground because of the humidity. When we do clean up, we use only soap and water. Sometimes only water. Is that one clean up?
Germs breed mostly in the kitchen and bathroom. And on the body, ur boxers, bushy private parts etc.

BeachTime: In addition to uninterrupted power and ID database , I think government should collect and own all lands , and abolish freehold land ownership . Lands should be sold in large acres to building developers and/or custom built home owners that meet the building codes. Lease the lands for 10 to 20 years with option of renewal, plus ,strict building codes . I think the current system of freehold landownership is one of the reasons Nigeria is disorganized and underdeveloped . You're completely wrong about this, and that has informed your very skewed and defective approach to solving the problem, cos when you fail to get the root cause of a phenomenon you would always proffer faulty solutions. The reason Nigeria is disorganized is because we have developed a culture of doing things wrongly and we don't give a shit about the effect of our actions in the long run. Building codes and strict guidelines on the kind of buildings to erect in certain areas can be enforced by the government but we don't care. Did you know there is a ministry of lands, housing and urban development that could ensure the original plan of a city is followed but they look the other way, take bribes and authorize illegal structures, and the cycle has continued till unfortunately we are neck deep in the rut that it will take a lot of sacrifice to get things straight again. |

BeachTime: Akwa Ibom is sparsely populated .I believe the real population is 2 Million .Although the overall population of natives worldwide may amount to 5 Million. Its landmass is the same size as Los Angeles city proper . It can hold over 30 million people comfortably. If I had the power, my method would be to demolish and rebuild from scratch In grid style like my sketch. Hopefully will be done as part of the Calabar Mega city project. For now ,my comment is in regards to the current situation : Keep the money in Akwa ibom by using only Akwa ibom construction companies, and with time they'll improve ( Believe in yourself and quit slave/colonial mentality). Another option which I personally prefer is to create government agencies such as :Akwa Ibom Construction Corporation , Akwa Ibom Electric Company , Akwa bank , Akwa Ibom Transport Commission,Akwa Ibom police Service, Akwa Ibom Construction Council(to approve, oversee and implement building codes). The Construction agency would be responsible for all construction and maintenance ,and would employ thousands of Akwa ibom Engineering professionals . And of course the government has to implement a good taxing system to boost the economy. With that, all the money would stay and grow within Akwa Ibom.
It shows Ikot ekpene population as 300,000 on Wikepedia. The housing development in my sketch can house 50,000 residents, and it cost 100 Million dollars to develop. That means 6 of those would house everyone in Ikot Ekpne ,instead of the sprawling rusted roofs in the backdrop of the OP's photos. I resonate with the part of creating government corporations. Unfortunately our government is very good at shelving responsibility, and that they do under the nomenclature of privatization but I call that astute laziness. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Lagos To Register Places Of Worship ‘To Ensure Sanity’ by dochenaj: 8:50pm On Nov 27, 2019 |
GeoAfrikana: Space is scarce in Lagos so I wouldn't expect less.
But, religious places (especially churches) can be a serious nuisance.
Imagine our house in Lagos, there's a church opposite it, another behind it and there's nasfat on the left. On the right there's a residential building, after that building there's another church. Kilode?!
And you can trust that all these churches will do vigil at least 3 times a week. And these vigils will be with sophisticated microphones, drums, pianos and speakers.
Please don't try to visit us on a Sunday morning, you won't hear anything. Nasfat sef will join the jamboree and... Imagine how messed up the whole place will be.
And the house is even in a close (cul-de-sac) which is supposed to be a serene place.
I suggest that they even control the number of religious centres that can be available per unit radius (or something similar).
Then they should set a minimum size that a worship centre can have so that it can serve all the people in it's environment. Land is too scarce for all these noisy mushroom worship centres.
As a GIS expert, I, in collaboration with town planners, can help them execute this fine plan.
If there will be another church or mosque apart from the central one then they must not use megaphones or microphones.
The central mosques should use speakers for only official activities (5 daily prayers and Friday prayer) not even their Sunday asalatu.
The official church should use speakers only for official activities (Sunday service).
We need sanity in this country. Are you a Muslim, Christian or atheist? |

Setting up Air peace and running it to the current level is really commendable and is not a mean feat.
However trying to peddle falsehood under the guise of justifying how you raised money to start up the business is really unnecessary and indeed counter productive.
Focus on what needs to be done to keep forging ahead and leave the rest. You mean, he should come clean that he took personal loans from politicians to establish his business? And you think he can still move forward after that? |

1. Why would a lady bring her infant to the exam hall? Couldn't she find a sitter to watch the baby for the few hours?
2. Why should the examiners tolerate her bringing a baby into the hall to distract other students?
3. Why is the lecturer posing for the camera? I guess publicity stunts.
Conclusion: The whole thing is staged, and I thank them for putting up an interesting performance.
Or better still, the lecturer is the father of the baby and the wife is a student. |
