Okoroawusa: So now u r interested in Presidency? When we were telling some of you in 2015 to join those of us igbos that saw the handwriting on the wall n aligned with APC you were calling us unprintable names. It's now in 2019 that you woke up. You guys are jokers!... When I lost hope on igbo presidency was in 2018 when I discovered that my people are comfortable playing the victim card that has never taken us anywhere politically since Independence.
Igbo presidency gbakwa oku! Isn't Okorocha in APC? He can be the APC presidential candidate. So stop crying like if there ain't any Igbo politician in APC, I forgot Ogbonnaya Onu, Chris Ngige, Geoffrey Onyeama, these are people Buhari trusts to have around him. Ain't they good enough for you? The truth is, that I'll rather have a "Yaradua" as president than any established Igbo politician I know of. |

This means that Abians will be one senator short. They are the real losers here, while OUK stays in prison and keep collecting allowances and salary and yet not doing anything for his senatorial zone.
They should initiate a recall for him, so that new elections can be conducted for the zone. |

YungMillionaire: What many of you seem not to realize is that BOTH things could have happen: 1. Sowore and his supporters faked the court room drama. 2. DSS rearrested Sowore.
We know number 2 happened but why are people doubting that no. 1 happen? Sowore and his supporters probably staged no.1 to draw greater international to his case. Watch the video again. You will see that the court room drama appeared staged. Now I am not saying it was staged but do not rule out the possibility. The certainty of number 2, does punch a huge hole in the possibility of number 1. But why would you put the factual occurrence as number 2 but the hypothesis as number 1. You're probably biased. |

I totally support this, they should even increase it to #200,000.
Nigerians are wont to be very undisciplined. The only people who are authorized to run a red light, are emergency response vehicles vis-à-vis fire truck responding to a fire, ambulance with a critical patient or fetching a medical personnel for a critical patient, police responding to a crime (not just regular patrol) maybe a couple more I can't remember, excepting these everyone should obey the traffic light even if it is 1 am.
Until we can be disciplined to do what is right, this country will remain in this mess irrespective of the people ruling. On a second thought, ain't we a reflection of the leaders we get, rigging or not? |

Licensing for water abstraction my foot. Did I read something like over-abstraction?
The companies will pay huge licensing fees thus eventually inflating the cost of sinking a borehole as the costs will be transmitted down to the end users. |

Politics › Re: Bob Menendez Condemns Sowore's Rearrest by dochenaj: 8:31am On Dec 07, 2019 |
purest21: Until Nigerians quit fighting back from the comfort of their homes behind keypads, the government can never be enlightened that power belongs solely to its citizens. And only then can the masses realize how much power they wield as things play out.
Now take a look at the massive protests going on in South America for over 2 months now. South Americans who happened to find themselves under the same shackles of poor leadership as Africans, but have fiercely refused and rebuked it consistently over the decades.
The recent protests started in their most developed country - Chile since October, over inequality, lack of opportunities and government's inability to distribute wealth and social services. The protest had only began for 1 week, the president already panicked, sacked his ministers, reshuffled cabinets. The citizens demanded a new constitution and his resignation. Out of fear, a committee was immediately set up and they're seriously working on the new constitution to at least get the over 1.8 million people off the streets of the capital who have caused a total city shut down for over 6 weeks. And maybe calm them enough with the new constitution that gives them equal rights to participate in the economy so they might reconsider his resignation. That's a man who's scared cos he has been brought to light on the powers the citizens possess.
Bolivians followed suite in protests just about same time. Why? Because they believed their president rigged the election to re-elect himself. (Does it occur to anyone that these are the same damn things we experience but would just murmur about them over keypads for few days and it slowly dies off) Now the Bolivian President has resigned and fled to Mexico to seek asylum, CHASED OFF BY HIS OWN CITIZENS! And now they're planning on their new election. MASSES = RESULTS
Peruvians and Ecuadorians are also at it. While Peru came out in numbers to support their President in closing down a corrupt Congress, Ecuador citizens came out in numbers to pressure their President over removal of gasoline subsidy. And as expected, they're all getting results and not backing down until all requests are fulfilled.
Moral lesson: No matter how authoritarian or totalitarian a government thinks it is, fact remains that no government on earth can cope with a total shut down with millions of citizens on the streets making serious demands in one voice. The problem is, Nigerians love their lives too much to go out to protest with no guarantee of returning home given the brazen impunity with which the security agencies would come down on them. It is only until we realise that the life we have is no life at all, that we can make that bold step and unfortunately I don't see us getting there anytime soon. |

They have provided him the skills to overcome the norms of the judiciary thereby aiding him in raping democracy and destroying the rule of law but judgement awaits them.
We hear him and his sycophants say he will take over from buhari but that will only happen if God stops to exist. You wrote very interesting truths up there, but you missed it when you decided to become God's spokesperson. God's ways are so unpredictable, that even the ugly could be for good. |

Chai! The judiciary is dead. This is tantamount to contempt of the court and the judge should have given an order for the detainment of those DSS operatives that could not just wait outside to rearrest their suspect.
But rather the judge scampered to safety. They don't tell a blind man that war has broken out. |
Politics › Re: Falana Reacts As DSS Rearrests Omoyele Sowore by dochenaj: 5:26pm On Dec 06, 2019 |
One would suppose you'll need an arrest warrant to arrest a suspect, especially if the crime was not committed on the go.
I guess they didn't like how Sowore's friends and family were celebrating his release on bail.
So I suppose, now they have fresh charges, they will charge him to another court and the counsel will request for bail, and the court will grant him bail on hundred's of millions.
Guess what, if and when he meets that bail requirements, DSS will get fresh charges to arrest him on again.
This thing looks like a script. |

Hopefully, you will be this happy when Jonathan, Patience, Dasuki, Saraki, Atiku, Deziani, FFK, Fayose, Olisa Metuh, Dino, Theodore Orji and other PDP thieves are sentenced to various prison terms.
Nobody is talking about persecution of opposition today because the convicted felon belongs to APC. When the table changes, nobody should talk about persecution or witch hunting.
I like Orji Uzor Kalu but he should face the consequences of his actions while in office. In the fight against corruption, there should be no sacred cow. We must collectively support the efforts of the current administration to fight corrupt current and former political office holders. I suppose you've not heard of the phrase "used and dumped". But he will remain in prison custody while the appeal is going on.
Given how sluggish our judicial system is, the appeals in both courts could last for upward of 2 years. So how could he be a Senator from prison.
His constituency should do the needful and recall him, since he does not have the decency and integrity to resign from the Senate. |
