She married very young, I don’t think she’s even 25 yet.

How old was she in the Wizkid vid??
if she's not yet 25.

Might appear it was a "gatecrash/shotgun wedding" to hide the pregnancy.

Shame if these stories are true.
Reminds me of the Dakore episodes

It paints her in a very bad light...
But hanging out with certain people will only give you a bad name

Hope Wale takes stock and recoup, if true.

Some girls are like that especially all these lack of exposure girls ..... immediately you teach her something or correct her assertions , she will feel worthless , in secured and insulted ... GBAM, Malice has started until you reexplain yourself again via apology cheesy ...

The thing is that , her attitude ain't enough to dump her especially if she has other areas/aspects she excels like :

Career/Professional/Academic oriented,
Home management skills ,
Financial management skills,
Social skills,
Kid raising skills,
Bedmatics,
Level of Spirituality etc

There is no perfect person anywhere but you need to confirm the key indices you want in a woman .....
and her ability to learn .... The above yardstick are mine .....

My first gf/fiancee was a Medical student now a medical doc with poor family/social skills but averaged and aced some other yardsticks .... she fights over little and most stewpid things if not with Okada rider, it may be a taxi driver , her colleagues at school or her nuclear/extended family member, If it were me she's having issues with, She will rake, rake while I will just be smiling and telling her how beautiful she is when she is angry ...... If she was reporting any incident to me, I dare not blame her nor question her judgment else, she will transfer all aggression to me cheesy ....

So, anytime she was reporting anyone to me , I dey follow her insult that person ooo grin .... (Na psychology), at that moment of reporting (Chai, thunder fire me if I don't , else she will tagged me as aiding and abetting that person grin)

Then, after a day or two that sweet nonsense would have happened between us like outing, movies, lovey-dovey (Like immediately after some Sxx) ..... I would now revisit the issue and sternly recommend appropriate course of action she should have taken in that scenario and avoid any such occurrence in the future.......
I'd let her realised how much she embarrassed herself even her profession simply because of lack of patience or for as low as "I'm sorry" or #50 disagreement .... you would hear :
"yes sir, yessur " .... she tend to listen better at that moment .....

Since we broke up in 2013 , she still ain't find a man to manage her and me too on relationship holiday since then (Book ti take over) grin

Now that's a matured reply...

Agree wt his premise...
If this is the only slur in her character, help work on it.. Get mentors, books, counseling tips..
No one's perfect
2 imperfect people trying for a perfect union.

If looking for the perfect person, the search never ends or you end up picking a fake who reveals their true colours once married!!!

Nairaland / General / Re: 10 Communication Secrets Of Great Leaders by doeeyed: 5:33pm On Jul 07, 2018
EntertainingYou:
Great leaders connect with people on an emotional level every time they speak. Their words inspire others to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

Great communicators are intentional about it, and there are 10 secrets they rely on to deliver a powerful m..!.G. ...m b non b no essage. Put these secrets to work in your communication and watch your influence soar.

1. They Know Their Audience
Great communicators don’t worry about sounding important, showing off their expertise, or boosting their own egos. Instead, they think about what people need to hear, and how they can deliver this message so that people will be able to hear it. This doesn’t mean that leaders tell people what they want to hear. Quite the opposite—they tell people what’s important for them to know, even if it’s bad news.

2. They Are Experts In Body Language
Great communicators are constantly tracking people’s reactions to their message. They are quick to pick up on cues like facial expressions and body language because they know this is the only feedback many people will give them. Great communicators use this expertise to tailor their message on the fly and adjust their communication style as needed.

3. They Are Honest
The best leaders know that for communication to be effective it has to be real. They can’t have people parsing every word trying to separate fact from spin. When great communicators can’t share certain information, they come right out and say it because makeshift, half-truth answers breed distrust and anxiety. In good times and bad, honesty builds trust.

4. They Are Authentic
Great communicators don’t try to be someone they’re not just because they’ve stepped behind a podium. There’s a reason Mark Zuckerberg presented Facebook to investors in a hoodie and jeans. Great leaders know that when they stay true to who they are, people gravitate to their message. They also know the opposite happens when leaders put on an act.

5. They Speak With Authority
Great communicators don’t try to cover their backs by being ambiguous, wishy-washy, or unassertive. Instead, they stick their necks out and speak very directly about how things are and how they need to be.

6. They Speak To Groups As Individuals
Leaders rarely have the luxury of speaking to one person at a time. Whether it’s a huddle around a conference table or an overflowing auditorium, great leaders know how to work the room and make every single person feel as if he or she is being spoken to directly.

7. They Have Ears (And They Use Them)
Great leaders know that communication is a two-way street and what they hear is often more important than what they say. When someone else is speaking, great communicators aren’t thinking ahead and planning what they’ll say next. Instead, they’re actively listening, fully focused on understanding the other person’s perspective.

8. They Use Phrases Like “It’s My Fault,” “I Was Wrong,” and “I’m Sorry”
When great leaders make a mistake, they admit it right away. They don’t wait for someone else to find and point out their blunder. They model accountability for their words and actions, even when they could have easily “gotten away” with the mistake. And they do it matter-of-factly, without drama or false humility.

9. They Solicit Feedback
The best communicators never assume that the message people heard is the exact same one they intended to deliver. They check in to verify that their message was understood correctly, and, if it was not, they don’t blame the audience. Instead, they change things up and try again.

10. They’re Proactive
Leaders with the best communication skills don’t waste time playing catch-up. They’re quick to head off the rumor mill by sharing bad news in a timely manner. They also give clear, concise goals and directions so people don’t waste their time heading in the wrong direction.

Bringing It All Together
Great communicators stand out from the crowd. They’re honest. They’re authentic. They listen. They excel in communication because they value it, and that’s the critical first step to becoming a great leader.

What other strategies make for great communication? Please share your thoughts on leadership and communication in the comments section below, as I learn just as much from you as you do from me.

This should be thoroughly investigated.

She's the second girl in recent times with s suicide verdict.. Her case looks very suspicious.

1) why did she go to Cardiff, .....a hotel in Cardiff to commit the act and not somewhere closer,eg that famous suicide bridge in Bristol ,--- a "runs" event gone bad??
2) why is only 1 not several people aware of the "depression"?
3) why didn't the said person raise an alarm, as we Naija people do because of our tatafo!!
4) where are GP records or other eye witness accounts of her depressive episodes??
5) she left no notes, instead visited her family just days to the event...,.naaa..... She was killed

The family better get a PI to dig in and expose the people behind their daughter's death.. Or at least the significant events preceding it.

Be careful of the friends you keep...

Organism000:

Your bad breath at this stage is symptomatic of a larger dysfunction like liver issues.

I have a solution for you that will be a wholesome treatment.

Buy baking soda and Apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and mix a teaspoonful of baking soda in a litre of warm water and drink it first thing in the morning. Then through out the day drink at least 5 litres of water daily for 1 week. The alternate with a cap full of Apple cider vinegar in a litre of warm water followed by 5 litres of water for another 1 week.

The third week, do lemon or lime in a glass of warm water followed by 5 litres.

Note that during the first week the bad breath will be gone. The entire treatment is for your liver and kidney.

You are actually dehydrated and the purine might make your joint painful.

Follow through and thank me later

Count this as a blessing in disguise. With that bad breath, you have no chance of getting a burden in your life in the name of girlfriend. You don't have to worry about making friends who would end up backstabbing you and you don't have to worry about provoking someone in public with your statement.

It's outright childishness cum foolishness for any woman or man to draw a comparison between his wife and mother or herself and mother in-law. Any woman who does this has got serious issues as I don't get why one would think her husband loves his mother more than her. If a man loves you, he loves you. Dragging love with his mother means you're not even sure of your place in the man's life. Both are your family, treat them right. None comes before the other and none should be displeased for the other when there can always be a balance.

I kinda agree with you. Thankfully the rules around renting out flats, houses or rooms are being tightened to avoid these situations. But the truth of the matter is that if someone is illegal or on a very tight budget they'll often avoid the overly legalistic process as it'll cost too much and it could potentially be out of reach as well.

But your observations are spot on.

Grazia!!

But if he had the evidence you think he wouldn't have provided it? Some people enter into consensual agreements to stay rent free for sexual pleasure, but the majority of the time people legally rent with people of the opposite gender.

I agree that should have been his prerogative.

However these agreements are oftentimes verbal or quite suggestive but open to interpretation, with no records.

I will be surprised if she made any payment, either by way of a deposit prior to the tenancy starting or afterwards. In addition, she slept there all night, only to report at the police station the next day, when you have a phone at hand to call for help and possibly sleep on the benches or pay handsomely at a motel / inn. There was cold-blooded calculation on her part.

You also have to factor in certain generational or cultural slants. With the older generation Africans, your intense flirting with a heterosexual man is often considered an open invitation and not harmless as seen by today's millennials. This ?derogatory patriarchal attitude is often criticized by the younger ones. Its not an excuse but just providing a backdrop. I'm not describing molestation or other deviant behaviour in my generalization, BTW.

Its all about being aware and protecting one's self at the end of the day.

' She rented a room off him online' Did he provide any rental agreement stating all she needed to do was sexual favours?

Come to think of it, I watched an investigation on BBC Iplayer, I think it was called 'sex for rent'. Would dig it up...

That's what he should have provided..evidence of prior communication that collaborated that narrative.

Bear in mind, I do not support molestation or soft-prostitution which I consider this to be..

But it happens all the time on different e-platforms and social media handles - sugar babies etc

, at a time, teeendr and some other gay website, was the usual way to pick up gay partners for the night which sometimes panned out into some rent for sex arrangement till one of the individuals opted out.

It was the serial killer in NE London that opened the lid on that informal arrangement. As a lot of his victims were sourced that way.

I emphasize that I'm not suggesting he's been framed but I observe that a lot of people tend to make out they are victims when they knew the score all along. As the law is out to make an example, the often clueless "perpetrator" becomes a scapegoat, whilst the "victim" walks off to create another crime scene --

If this man was of a certain ethnicity, had a QC to defend his case, a totally different outcome would have been arrived at.

From the dynamics and timing as depicted in the report, he appeared not to have a decent legal representative. Yes it costs money. But reputation, livelihood and in this case jail time is at stake here.

I feel strongly about this having read several cases where our young black men have been stereotyped and jailed with that bias in mind on the back of allegations from less-than-savoury sources in addition to poor evidence.

I doubt it..
Rent for sex was a popular thing in most UK cities last year... Male/female.... Male/ male... Some allege its an import from EE climes?? It was further glamorized on tval as an urban trend. What was not robustly discussed was the jail term it could carry..

In this case, the lady described it as harassment not a rape.
What he should have provided was some evidence of prior convo to indicate the girl had s foreknowledge of what she was getting into as opposed to being a victim of opportunistic crime as made out on the public gallery.
Crime / Re: Nigerian Man Jailed For Sexually Assaulting His Female Roommate In UK. Photo by doeeyed: 9:14pm On Jun 28, 2018
Interesting

Didn't realise there were convictions for perpetrators of the Rent for sex scandal.. Quite prominent in major cities.

I accept the victims are vulnerable but jail terms up to 7 years for what is a consensual arrangement is ??- leave that to anyone's imagination!!

Hmmm

Re: these cases, It seems a legally tight document needs to be signed before the "3rd leg" does any thinking!!!

The ways young men, particularly black, have been labelled on the back of poorly constructed accusations, when a recurrent pattern of ill-behaviour on the part of the accuser is known.

Vulnerability from the victim should not equate to total lack of responsibility, more so when there are other reasonable but unattractive alternatives.
So every case judged on its merit-- not a blanket approach..

Guys, abeg use sense..
The hips, boobbbs and seductive eyes beckoning at you, may be destiny destroyers to bring not only you but your family pain and untold torment..

Not that IGP Idris don't know what to do to bring these fulani herdsmen to justice from Benue, Taraba and to Plateau. Buhari is yet to show him he's determined to deal with these fulani herdsmen, how can over 200 persons killed and no marching order to the police to fish out those behind the killings dead or alive.

If not that allowing another candidate other than Buhari in 2019 will mean short changing the South in 2023, and another Hausa-Fulani from PDP is a no no for me, Buhari wouldn't have had support in 2019. From 2023 no Fulani man showed be allowed to rule Nigeria again, because of these killings by Fulani herdsmen, funny enough they don't have the strength in terms of numbers to sway election results in their favour if not for the support of the native Hausas.

So it is acceptable to have more more killings in order to achieve your 2023 ambitions??

When its as clear as night from day, there is little the incumbent can or will do to stop these widespread level of depravity!!

Crime / Re: Police In Charge Of SARS Loses Son To Reprisal Killings In Plateau S’ Attacks by doeeyed: 11:05pm On Jun 25, 2018
NOETHNICITY:
Our very compromised media has been very silent about this style of killings in which Christians take over the roads and start killing ppl on suspicion that they are Fulani or Muslims.

Nairaland ops quickly tagged it 'reprisal attack'.

Fulanis have been raising alarms about their cattles being rustled and their pple targeted at will.
Nobody ever listen's to them.

This is the reason I keep saying that the pple of middle belt aren't ready for peace and there is little security agents can do in such situation.

But you have to wonder as to why little has been said of the rustlers

Yes, There may be poor media coverage of the attacks on the Fulani's but where is the evidence, pictures, credible eye witness accounts?? It's largely hearsay with no significant collaboration. In today's social media-crazed world, pictures would have been on all platforms available, after all there's no govt censorship regarding that narrative!!

However, it is apparent for all observers that the marauders have attacked disproportionately a greater number of people- entire villages, men, women, children, even unborn children been torn out of their mothers' bellies: communities have been decimated, wiped out, totally eliminated: that is totally gruesome.!

Different groups accepting responsibility for these horrid atrocities whether rightfully so or not have not been warned to desist from their criminal acts or even brought to justice. That in itself gives a wrong signal: that some people are above the law despite attesting to committing wanton criminality descending to harrowing depths of depravity??

There are pictures, eye witness accounts, incessant calls to authorities and the powers that be, to speedily intervene under the cloak of our collective humanity!!! But

NOTHING credible appears to have been done till close relatives are affected....

The narrative of poorly constructed confabulations continue from the government..

Why must more blood be shed before the government or those in authority do what's right and humane

Why ??
