Do you know more than them? Do you think Uber condones any of those no matter how small? His intention wasn't to steal from the rider and that's what is important here. He did what he did out of frustration on the job which is very obvious from the start of the incident to the end.

Let's stop all these sounding holier than thou. Some of us do worse things but are always quick to criticize others or am I not relating with Nigerians here? He f**cked up, he has admitted to it. Calling it scam, fraud or stealing is a little bit on the extreme, mere use of sledge hammer to kill an ant.

First, I started by admitting to the wrong did.

I was just furious probably because of some bad ride previously experienced. I called this guy twice and took time to explain to him and affirmed him he don't be charged should he cancel I even went further to let him know his destination is off my way cause of curfew (inside Berger). Those of you saying it's wickedness, who is more wicked after all these explanation I gave to him. If police sieze my car what would I say to my partner?? I've had some bad experiences like this that didn't turn out well for me at the end of the day. Yes you win some and lose some, but do I have to always be at yhe loosing end all the time? I've done about 8km PU distance just because rider refused to cancel in which my account has bewn flagged for h8gh cancellation.

Now, my balance as at yesterday was above -N15k so cancelling a card trip would have put my account in a very high risk of being blocked. My account was suspended on Wednesday last week s8mply because a rider cancelled after I'd arrived and was charged. Uber said it was because my cancellation rate was above 7%. Let me stop here. So, All of these put together was why I took that decision to start the trip without the guy.

Well, as I woke up this morning I don forget and my conscience has prinked me and I sent him a text apologising and asking for his acct details to trx back his money. If him like make him send if him like make him no send. Me I don move on.

Thank God I eat the N7500 bonus after completing 32trips for the week so my balance is now reduced to about 3k.

You are wrong boss. Uber only charges if the driver arrives at your pick up, you will get a notification from uber that driver has arrived. Then the 5mins countdown begins.

I once took a trip on bolt to Iyana isashi. Close to the destination, I turned on my Uber app. Got a request from Iyana school (quite far from me), which is on the other side of the express. ETA topick up alone was 31mins. I didn't bother calling as I continued to my destination on bolt.

Few minutes later, the rider called and he was even going to agbara side. I told him to cancel that I can't go. He said I should cancel that Uber will charge him. But I humbly explained to him that they can only charge him when I get to the destination. He canceled and I got #300. I have to call him back to apologize and applied for a refund to rider, which Uber did refund him.

This is just one of many cases I've had on Uber.

Felicity haba! Start prepping for mykab, cos if you don't give a reasonable explanation that your uber account is gone.

I know some riders are ignorant of the cancellation charge. You should have explained to him that it's only when you get to his PU that's when he's charged for not showing up.

You for just chop the cancellation fee as consolation.

Uber charges cancelation fee once a rider cancels after 5mins from the time he made the request. Whether the driver got to PU or not.

But if driver cancels even after 30mins without getting to PU, rider won't be charged.

Got a request to yaba from ikeja.
On our way, rider asked if I'm taking 3rm mainland.
Me: I don't know where 3rm mainland is. I don't know anywhere. This's my 1st week.
Rider: I'll direct you.

Got a request from ikeja to Ogba.
Riser: follow Adeniyi Jones.
Me: I don't know where it is. This's my 1st week.

this life no balance bro, wen i drop off the rider from ikorodu to Alakija bus stop, it was a smooth ride as i didn't enter alakija, but request came in PU abule ado to isolo general hospital and ino wan blow empty from that side..as I drop the rider at isolo see request coming in every seconds and none was going my destination i just jejely off my app

When next you go to alakija, just turn back and enter festac.

I actually meant those that were blocked for other reasons like, passenger did not show, client cancelled and you did not accept.

I wish to know if their ratings were above 4.9 and they still got blocked.

If you continue cancelling 4 trips in a day, you might wake up one morning to see your rating fall Yakata. Mind you there is a threshold of 22% on all cancellations, if u pass this limit automatically you will be blocked. All cancellations affects rating whether you want to go with rider or not. You just have to keep it minimal. Accepting Trips request without seeing destination @ times boost rating. These kind of trips are likely to be taking you to bad places, drivers reject them alot. Embarking on such trips can increase your rating. I took out time to study how the system works.

This's me in the last 3 months.

Throughout this period, my ratings have not gone below 9.0

Ohh... Didn't know this. I thought the rating was dependent on riders and Activity Score was for acceptance or cancellation of rides.

Well, that explains why my ratings dropped badly. I've been declining and cancelling a lot of trips of late. Today, I even tried not accepting a trip, I was thrown offline immediately with a teasing message telling me that another driver has accepted the trip...

These days, morale just low. Today, I just vex go offline go house after lots of cancellations.

Cancellation and trip rejections don't really affect ratings.
The only cancellation part that affects your rating, is when your cancel with the option I DO NOT WISH TO GO WITH THIS RIDER. Where you have input a reason why you don't want to go on that trip. I've critically observed this and noticed that Bolt evaluates those reasons you input and reflect it on your ratings accordingly.

I Cancel (on average) 4 trips in a day, but it doesn't affect my ratings (9.5 currently) . It only affects my activity score.

Again, completing card trips boasts your ratings too.

V on my bolt app since 6:00am n D request is nt cumin in.yesterday I tolled from my house in iju to fagba, to ogba tantalize, to airtel in d same ogba, no request came in, moved from there to mega chicken, no request still n moved around getting to Anthony.on getting to Anthony my battery went off n my phone was very hot.so scared tat it mite blow up. Looking for where to charge my phone n wen my phone came up then it was almost getting to 2pm,waited in front of a mall, still no request came in, then decided to go home, on my way home, a request came in location mushin, I didn't bother picking cos my body just dey pepper me for D fuel wey I burn yesterday. though my choice destination was surulere. So wen I got home, was nt really hapi how my day went without any kobo in my hand, so my wife just console me, pamper me n yesterday na my first day out after activate with bolt. Got a request (dolphin estate), drove to pick up. Rider came out and said sorry he's not going again; that I should start the trip and end it so they'll charge him for the stress and went back inside. (card trip).
That's how I started the trip, ended it immediately and found myself offline.
Trip counted as a declined trip. When I was close to clinching my morning bonus. I lost the 5h and lost the 1.2k also.

Luckily I got another trip to surulere.
I'm in my house now frying for breakfast.

So next time boss if I were in ur shoes, the restless me will take my chances, worst I'll text the rider to leave a 15 mins notice before his set to go time, cos I need to eat and may stay ard the food joint. I did sometin stupid yesterday, tho it was intentional. What's the cylinder size? I took this trip yesterday with 2k fuel, by the time I got to landmark the fuel indicator had lit up. However, I was able to get home(igando) without refueling. Mine is a 2.4l engine and the ac was on all through the to trip but off on fro trip.

I think the culprit is your coils or spark plugs.

Get a good mechanic to be removing the coils one by one and see if there are changes in engine sound.

But if it's coil, it'll not accelerate well.

Morning boss..What’s the story behind this?

I set out from my house (off brown road surulere) around 5:30am aiming to clinch bolt's morning bonus.
1st 3trips that came in are over 10mins pick up time, while their destinations are showing as surulere. I rejected.

4th trip was going to Fadeyi, with 13mins pick up time. I decided to go cos I've rejected many. Called rider to tell him how long it'll take me to get to him, he said he can't wait and cancelled.

5th trip came with no destination, called rider and he was going to diamond estate isheri.
Egbeda was my base before I relocated to surulere Feb, and I know how difficult it is to get ride to better places from their, coupled with the traffic, coming out of Egbeda in the morning. I decided to go offline. Told rider that I can only go for 3k. He agreed and we proceed.

Dropped him off in less than 40mins, turned on my app.
1st two trips that came in were going to abule-egba and somewhere after abule-egba respectively. I humbly declinned.

I went and packed close to good luck Jonathan estate.

8th trip came in, showing Ajeromi ifelodun as destination. I cancelled before it could ring half, but it came back again, I accepted. Called rider, he was going to satellite town. ...told him I can't go beyond alakija; he cancelled.
The trip came back again, he cancelled.
I turned off my app for 2mins, turn it on and it came back again, I cancelled. It came back again, he cancelled. It came back again, he cancelled.
Turned off my app and started driving towards Gowon estate, half way towards Egbeda bus stop, I turned on my app again, same trip came in, he cancelled it came again like 3 times; he cancelled. Before another one came in from Jemade estate to Lagos island.

Dropped off rider and took another trip to Ikoyi, then went home from there.
That's how my morning was spoilt oh!

I'm in my room now cooling my mind, body and spirit wirh Vodka.
