Computer Science is not properly taught in Nigeria. It took me a long time after bagging my first degree in CS to decide whether to further my studies in that line. Most lecturers of CS in Nigeria don't know their bearing in the field hence, they can't prepare students well in the field. Some can't even write a program to write their names in any programming language even at gunpoint .

Apart from the lecturers, the students are also to be blamed. No school or lecturer can give you all you need. In-fact to be a thoroughbred professional, you have to develop yourself beyond any classroom. Even in civilized nations like Canada, US etc, the students with best programming and related skills don't rely solely on their professors.

I also believe that the CS curriculum in Nigeria needs to be overhauled, the curriculum in Nigeria is quite archaic. Although even the archaic content is not properly taught and understood in Nigeria. I have seen many CS graduates complain that they were only taught FORTRAN, PASCAL etc but the fact is that they don't even understand the FORTRAN or PASCAL properly. If they know those so-called archaic languages well, they will find it easy to switch to other languages like Python, C++, Java because programming is a way of thinking and not really about the language you use.

In all, I am yet to see any university in Nigeria whose CS program impresses me although I have seen some very smart CS graduates of Nigerian universities; these graduates worked on themselves.

Fake news! I lost all the respect I had for CNN months ago. I am usually scared of any news outlet with obvious agenda.

Is the economy of the entire African continent with over 52 countries worth $1.1trn? We just throw up figures anyhow in Nigeria. Illiterates everywhere.

The sad thing is that most of these money went offshore to countries like India. We still have a long way to go in IT skills acquisition. Many computer science and IT graduates of Nigerian universities are not properly equipped. Few good IT companies have little patience for mentoring young graduates also. They are looking for fully-formed professionals which is not too good. Info Tech is a gold mine that could lift many Nigerians from poverty but unfortunately, we are not properly tapping into it.

My dear brother, when Buhari went to court to contest the result of the 2003 presidential election, the Court of Appeal nullified the Ogun State result of the presidential election saying that it was massively rigged in favour of Obasanjo. The court went on to deduct Ogun State vote count from the overall total but Obasanjo still had majority votes.

On this note, considering that the governorship and the presidential election took place simultaneously, we can deduct that if Osoba had gone to court to contest the governorship election, it would have been nullified also. I am not supporting either party, I just stated what happened at the court. So stop saying that OGD won free and fare.

I still believe OGD won the first term. OGD was very popular then and he won all the polling booth around my area. I monitored that election closely. Although I think he didn't win in 2007 but he won 2003.

I don't understand what they mean by Obasanjo betraying them in 2003. OGD won fair and square in Ogun State in 2003. Prior to that election, Osoba showed himself to be arrogant and many people felt he under performed between 1999 to 2003. When people like Okurounmu say OBJ betrayed them in 2003, do they mean that people's votes should not matter?
