This is not about tribe please, it's about every Nigerian youth that is addicted to this killer drug.
FamilyMethamphetamine Addiction What Our Youths Should Know by Dozis(op): 12:24pm On Jan 20, 2022
I believe the name Mkpụrụ mmiri comes from the fact that the drug, crystal methamphetamine looks like pieces of ice or glass fragments.

It was discovered in 1893 and initially was meant for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (because it increases alertness) and obesity (because it reduces appetite), it is rarely prescribed for these uses anymore because of its high addiction rate and subsequent toxicity.

Some of the ways people take the drug are by smoking, swallowing or injecting the drug that has been dissolved in water or alcohol.

Because the initial high experienced when a user takes the drug does not last long, users often take repeated doses to continue experiencing the ‘highness” and this is where the addiction comes in, the user just wants to experience the euphoria again and again.

Methamphetamine also known in the street as Meth, ice or Mkpụrụ mmiri is a potent brain stimulant, this means that it increases brain and central nervous system activity, making the person feel more alert and energetic.

The short term effects of Methamphetamine include.

• Increased interest in sexual activity (libido)

• Intense feeling of pleasure

• Rapid or shallow breathing

• Increased blood pressure and body temperature

• Tachycardia (increased heart rate, the heart beats faster than normal)

Addiction to methamphetamine can damage the heart, cause high blood pressure and irregular heart beat.

Some of the long term effects of Methamphetamine include.

• Addiction, this makes the user feel the compulsion of taking the drug, the longer he takes the more dependent he becomes, causing the user to take higher doses in pursuit of that initial high which may ultimately result to drug overdose and death.

• Sexual aggressiveness.

• Mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety and paranoia.

• The user may also have difficulty in experiencing pleasure apart from the one that comes from the use of meth.

• Heart disease.

• Violent behaviour

• Hallucinations, seeing imaginary things

• Risk of contracting diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B and C, this can be contracted by sharing of needles that are used to inject the drug.

If you or someone you know is suffering from Methamphetamine addiction, it is never late to seek urgent medical help before it is too late.

Flogging meth addicts or ostracizing them will not solve the problem, they just they are just humans as we all are and deserve compassion, the best is to help them get urgent medical care to help them stay off the drug.

Amaechi's obsession with Goodluck Jonathan is quite disturbing...
Nigerian journalists are among the laziest in the world, how can someone open his mouth and lie blatantly without quoting a single source on your platform and there won't ask intelligent questions.
Even PDP couldn't even come out to debunk the statement, same with Goodluck Jonathan's media aide.

PoliticsGov. Amaechi's Statement On 2015 Foreign Reserve: Setting The Records Straight by Dozis(op): 12:01pm On Dec 28, 2021
I read with surprise and disappointment comments made by the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, during an appearance on Channels Television wherein he said:
"As former chairman of the governors' forum, I was told by the security in a meeting chaired by the former President, including the former minister of finance, that at every point in time, the government must leave money behind in case Nigeria goes to war that would last for six months. By the time we came, they didn't leave money behind that could last us for three weeks. And I was speaking at that time as the chairman of the governors' forum."

The Minister's comment is rather unfortunate and not supported by facts readily available in the public domain. As a member of the Federal Executive Council that handed over to the current administration, I am disturbed that this urban myth of "empty treasury" is still the subject of conversation by a senior government member.

Also, I am confused about what the Honourable Minister means when he says, "By the time we came in", as he was not appointed Minister until six months after the May 29 Handover. Since he was not a Minister on the handover date, it may be pertinent to present him with the facts again.

On May 29, 2015, President Buhari inherited a foreign reserve of $28.6 billion, according to official data still present on the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria, as well as $5.6 billion Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Limited dividends. Also, a 2015 budget of over 4 trillion Naira was handed over to the incoming administration by the outgoing Jonathan government.

Furthermore, the Jonathan administration left a total of $2.2 billion in the Excess Crude Account on May 29, 2015. (As verified by the Ministry of Finance both by the immediate past minister and the incumbent).

To further create context, I would like the Minister of Transport to note the country's economic indices after 1849 days of President Jonathan's Presidency from May 06 2010, the date he took over from President Umaru Yar'Adua to the Handover date of May 29, 2015.

On May 29, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari inherited an economy that, by the testimony of the World Investment Report, prepared by the Geneva-based United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), was the number one destination for foreign direct investment in Africa. In the five years of President Jonathan, Direct Foreign Investment stood at about 35.25 Billion Dollars. You can compare this to the 11.55 Billion Dollars Direct Foreign Investment received from 2016 to 2020.

The Jonathan administration handed over a $550 billion economy (largest in Africa and 26th globally) and a diversified economy.
On May 29, 2015, President Jonathan left behind an economy with a stable currency, where the Naira exchanged for ₦199 to $1, and Nigeria had a single-digit inflation rate. Today, after 2406 days of the current administration headline inflation rate hovers above 15%.

Under President Jonathan, the unemployment rate stood at 7.5% (better than European Union) today. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, six and half years after Governor Amaechi's government came in, unemployment is 33%.

Before the government came in, Nigeria's poverty rate was 32% as of May 2015. We need not compare it against 71% today after 78 months of President Buhari's administration.

Our External debt as of May 2015 stood at $7.3 billion, the Gini coefficient (degree of inequality) was not different from China's as of 2015. In 343 weeks and four days of the current administration, our external debt has ballooned to $37.9 billion as of September 2021. It is important to point out that over 48% are bilateral and commercial loans.

With the facts above, I am sure that the Minister of Transport will rethink his fixation on the past and focus on the clear and present danger of an economy on the path to Argentina – sovereign debt default.

In the face of declining revenues, available public data revealed that external debt servicing gulped $1.82 billion between January and September 2021; this is 43.9% higher than the $1.27 billion spent in the corresponding period of 2020.

In the same period of January to September 2021, Domestic debt servicing rose to N1.74 trillion from N1.53 trillion recorded in the same period of 2020.

These issues should worry the Honourable Minister, coupled with unlocking the asphyxiating gridlock that Apapa port has created in the economy.

2406 days after, a clear 557 days (1 year five months) more than President Jonathan governed Nigeria; this administration's economic policies and heightened insecurity have left the country comatose.

Minister Amaechi and the APC government should stop this perennial blame game and focus on redeeming its tattered image by signing the electoral bill passed by a legislature it controls.

Make una no dey use access bank again. How many times would I reiterate this? Banks like access, fcmb, wema, first, Uba, eco bank, gtb are not sane banks. The only ones I know that are sane is Union bank, standard chartered. You know, those old banks without much customer base. They know how to keep their services In order. No useless debit or whatsoever.
My brother it was Diamond bank that I was banking with before the useless Access Bank acquired it, funny enough I have been using UBA since my undergraduate days and right now it is also my salary account, I hardly have issues with them, even when it happens, they quickly resolve it faster their Royal stupidity, Access Bank.

You get mind to still dey bank with Access o! The day my darling Diamond Bank was taken over by Access I took out all my money and japa.

Prior to the take over I had read unsavoury tales about Access Bank on Twitter, even their own customers had nothing good to say about the bank on Twitter threads, I kept seeing.

When I have to do a transfer or transaction and someone gives me Access Bank account details, I get an instant headache grin, my wariness of them is that bad. I really miss Diamond Bank their customer services always impressed me and I never hesistated to tell them so, they were responsive to emails and provided quick resolutions to issues. Sad what happened cry
Very sad, it was Diamond bank that I opened account with, very wonderful service they had.
After this, I'm done with Access Bank forever.

FamilyHow Do I Get My Money Back From Access Bank And FCMB by Dozis(op): 9:40pm On Dec 09, 2021
I feel like going to any Access Bank branch tomorrow to display some sort of madness there, this is one too many.
On the 3rd of December 2021, I transferred ₦7,700 to a POS vendor for a cash back from my Access Bank account using the Access app, unfortunately the transaction failed right their in the app, I checked my balance and my money was still intact and there was no SMS debit alert also, only for me to do another transaction and find out that they debited me for the failed transaction, I asked the woman wether she was credited and she said she was not, I waited for 24 hours to get a reversal but all to no avail, I now mailed their customer care, no reply still, I called and a customer care agent picked and I explained to her, she ran a check and told me that the POS cash back lady was credited and she sent me the transaction reference number which I gave to the woman to take to FCMB so that they can trace the transaction, she went and even printed her statement of account, the money wasn't there.

On 7th of December 2021, I now received another SMS in reference to the earlier mail I sent, telling me that they will give me a feedback on or before 12th, then yesterday I got a message this message

"Dear Customer, CAS-9110269-D1M4G0 is closed: "transaction was successful.". Rate us at https:///4yd97tr3/CAS9110269D1M4G0"
FCMB is still insisting that they didn't get the money and access is claiming that transfer was successful.
This money may not be much but this is is their usual style, they hardly reverse failed transaction, the other time was airtime recharge of ₦2500 and ₦1500 respectively, they kept telling me my line was credited meanwhile the phone was in my hand without credit.

When will African leaders start having sense?

From the News, the new variant have been discovered in Belgium and Israel too, but guess what? Only South Africa and other African countries are been placed on Red/travel ban list.

Meanwhile, African Leaders will be hesitant to place all this western/middle East countries on travel ban list, even when they have new variants of the virus.

As a matter of fact, if this African leaders have acted quickly and placed all Non - African countries on Travel Ban list, perhaps, the virus wouldn't have spread to Africa to start with. But they all foolishly left their borders open, allowing free entry of COVID.

Good afternoon nairalanders,
I don't know the right section to post this but this is quite painful.
Recently I started putting down my experiences and thoughts into writing, so I publish what I write on my blog, the blog is relatively new and under construction, so I first post here on nairaland and then my blog.
Today out of impulse I decided to run a plagiarism report of what I wrote and the result was quite the unexpected, it came out 88% plagiarised, I was shocked, this means that someone on nairaland here copied what I wrote and pasted verbatim on his/her blog, this is disheartening.
Nairalanders please check out my previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/6783063/menace-quack-nurses-experience and compare it with
https://niyitabiti.net/2021/10/the-menace-of-quack-nurses-my-experience/.
No credit was given, not even to nairaland, it also shows that I plagiarised nairaland too.

My second topic was also copied by the same blog please compare dates of publication
https://www.nairaland.com/6797734/some-myth-medications-nigeria
https://niyitabiti.net/2021/10/some-myth-about-medications-in-nigeria/
For heaven's sake if you can't write pay people to write for you, everything I wrote was from my work place experience and someone was just somewhere copying it.

Lalasticlala, this is not good.
On further check, the owner of the blog copies nairaland, every topic on nairaland goes straight to his blog.
