What a pity the country we found ourselves those who enjoy quality education are now the ones imposing hike fees to the our generation. OAU mgt may have their short comings but the main blames goes to the FG who find it diffcult to fund education in country but prefer to send their children/wards to overseas/private school.

Health › 12 Million Nigerians Are Infertile, Says AFRH by dridowu(op): 9:59pm On Jul 06, 2014
The Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health has said that no fewer than 12million Nigerians are not productive.

The association in a statement ahead of its September 24 to 28 International Conference in Lagos State, said the causes of the infertility varies from different individuals.

The Publicity Secretary of the conference Local Organising Committee, Dr. Tayo Abiara, in the statement on Sunday said, “There are about 12million infertile persons in Nigeria which is almost 10 per cent of the total population.

“To this group of people, any form of access to effective treatment is priority. It is their valid or legitimate right in a democratic society like ours to have this right to life’s treatment.

“The Nigerian cultural background of social isolation of infertile couples has made Assisted Reproductive Technology practice in Nigeria relevant. Children are so important that childlessness is seen as a curse to the family and community.”

Speaking on the theme of the conference, ‘Improving pregnancy rates of In Vitro Fertilisation in Africa’, he explained that more enlightenment was needed on the causes of infertility.

The issues, he said, would be treated at the conference are ethics in IVF, new technologies in IVF, low cost IVF in Nigeria and role of reproductive surgery and quality control.

He added that over 500 delegates from Nigeria, African countries, United Kingdom, United State of America and other western nations would be present.

Abiara said, “Our vision is geared towards the enhancement of quality education service in reproductive health education, with emphasis on fertility services.

“The association seeks to create an awareness among all persons within Nigeria, Africa and abroad, of the importance of reproductive health.

“There will be room for exhibition and over 500 fertility experts and specialist would be in attendance from all over the world. Experts expected are Obstetricians/Gynecologists, Medical Doctors /Physicians, Embryologists, Ultrasonographers, Pharmacists, Medical Lab Scientists/ Technicians, Health Regulators, Nurses , Medical Equipment /Service Providers, Medical Students, Educational Institutions, Medical Associations.”

Car Talk › Armless Man Banned From Driving (Pics and Video) by dridowu(op):
Chinese motorist with no arms is banned from driving after police catch him using his toes to steer… but not before he drove 100,000 miles without ever crashing

Police in China caught armless Wo Guo, 45, driving with his feet
Mr Guo said that he has clocked up 100,000 miles using just his feet to drive
Officials said that Mr Guo is a danger to himself and other road users

An armless man who steered his car with his feet has had his car confiscated to stop him driving because it’s ‘too dangerous’ – though he’d already clocked up 100,000 miles behind the wheel.

Police in China said Wo Guo, 45, was a danger to himself and other road users.

He was pulled over in a routine road traffic check in Xiantao city in central China’s Hubei province, where officers found he did not have a licence.
Toe-tally incredible: Wo Guo has driven 100,000 miles using his feet

He used his feet to drive the car. He used the big toe and the toe beside it on the left foot to control the steering wheel and used the right foot to control the brake. According to the armless motorist he has clocked up 100,000 miles without mishap.

Guo lost his arms at the age of seven when he went to cut grass to feed a horse, and accidentally touched high voltage wires with his scythe.
After his arms were amputated he learned to wash his face and brush his teeth, write and to sew using his feet. He is married, has a son who is at college, makes a living selling fruit and says he has a ‘happy life.’

But he says he needs his car to make deliveries: ‘I don't find driving automatic cars hard. My friend taught me to drive within a week, but I can't get a licence because of my disability so I do it in secret.

A police spokesman said that he would not be fined and he would get his car back if he hired a driver, adding: ‘He is admirable, but it’s too dangerous for him to drive. I hope he can give up driving himself and employ someone else.’
